Morning all! I'm excited to see what the scales are telling everyone this week - it sounds like we've had some great results so far!

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

Here's to another successful week

Abracadabra Persian restaurants usually have many many options for LC so it shouldn't be a problem. Apart from a kebab or any grilled meat really, I would also recommend an aubergine side dish (tapa) and/or a yoghurt side dish usually called mast-o-khiar (see here); both these little salads / side dishes are very LC and very delicious!

As for the craving for a pain au chocolat....what can I say! My sympathy!

Iamdobby63 · 24/05/2016 09:29

notquite Hope you are feeling better soon. Flowers

monkeyfacegrace · 24/05/2016 09:30

Right, I'll just get this out there.

Anyone else reading other people's weights and thinking jeez, whatcha all losing weight for? Grin

Can't we all pretend we are starting at 300lb please Grin

SoMuchToBits · 24/05/2016 09:45

Depends how tall people are though, Monkey - I'm a short arse (5'4") with tiny bones, so I should only weigh about 8 stone 7. But I started LCing at 10 stone 10.

That's 31 x BIWI's handful of fat I'm carrying around unnecessarily! Grin

boldlygoingsomewhere · 24/05/2016 09:45

Morning all!

Feeling much better - less groggy and more alert. I noticed a pleasant side effect this morning- my cellulite is vanishing and my skin isn't as dry. Smile This WOE is obviously doing me some good.

Whistle73 · 24/05/2016 09:54

Got some bargains in M and S last night - from their BBQ range, asparagus with chilli and lime dressing and Halloumi kebabs - 60p each reduced from £3!
Will have the asparagus with some chicken pieces and mayo for lunch and kebabs for dinner.
Have had my usual scrambled eggs for breakfast but melted a slice of cheese in and it was a revelation! For anyone getting bored of eggs, give it a try...

Nails still growing fast and very vivid dreams for me are my side effects so far.

MissRainbowBrite · 24/05/2016 09:58

Mookbark I'm 5'3" and started bootcamp at 150lbs, my aim is to get down to below 9st 7 which should see me happily fitting back in a size 10. I'm still marvelling at my fairly flat stomach after dropping the first 6lbs last week though Smile

regularbutpanickingabit · 24/05/2016 09:58

Morning!
Made a delicious dinner with chicken thighs fried in coconut oil (that was a first), basil, a small handful of fresh tomatoes, grated parmesan some veg stock and a huge glug of cream. I separately fried up some crispy bacon to sprinkle on top. Served it with asparagus that I slathered in butter, spinach salad for me and new potatoes for the family. Everyone wants a repeat which is always a good sign!

B - avocado, mozzarella, tomato and basil with olive oil - love the tip about frying hard avocado. That is one of life's big disappointments when an avocado is too hard but you have cut in to it!
L - leftover chicken and some spinach
D - think i am going to do a pork steak thai curry with cauliflower rice for me and normal rice for the family.

I honestly can't believe how good I feel and how the roller coaster hunger and sugar cravings have disappeared. This is the longest I have gone without alcohol for years (Blush) and I have actually stopped thinking about it. I can't tell you how surprising that is.

Thank you!

Titsalinabumsquash · 24/05/2016 09:59

Oh my goodness what a day I had yesterday!

My bastard bollocking car broke down on me, I defy you to find anyone with worse car luck than me, we spent £600 on the bloody thing last month and it's only 2 months old!!!
So yesterday it broke down, a cylinder blew up, so I'm sat in the car in 28 degree heat guzzling bottles of water until DP arrives with the RAC.

Then I walk the 3 miles home only to find the person who picks my children up from school on a Monday is off sick so I walk another 3 miles to school.
When I get there I'm given another gallon of wart and some first aid as my heal is a big bloody mess from my shoe, they call a taxi and take us home.
DP is towed to Ford and tells them if they don't fix by the end of tomorrow he'll start making legal noise. They drive him home and promise it will be fixed by close of business today.

The school are awesome and send the receptionist to fetch the kids for school today and she'll drive them home too and our amazing child
Minder picked ds3 up and will drive him home.

So yesterday I had a weeks worth of water and I walked 6 miles with the pushchair.

I'm just having mashed avacado with chorizo and asparagus and a bottle of water and a coffee.

Iamdobby63 · 24/05/2016 10:01

monkey I have to confess I thought the same mixed with some jealousy as well. Lol - Now Im in a healthy BMI range I'm just going by a dress size that I believe I will be happy with given my age and height.

CiderwithBuda · 24/05/2016 10:10

Wow Titsalina. What a day. Good job on the water though! 😄

Your comment about your DH threatening legal action reminded me of my dad and a car he bought that he had problems with. The dealer was less than helpful. So dad manouvered his pile of crap into position in front of the dealer's office so that they couldn't get out. He sat there telling potential customers that the dealer was a crook. Got his money back pretty quickly!

Regular - that sounds delicious. I have chicken thighs in the fridge. That may be dinner sorted.

stilllovingmysleep · 24/05/2016 10:29

Hi again all, I wanted to share a trick I've thought about in terms of rewarding myself / having treats to motivate myself.

So: what I came up is the idea that my rewards should be related / tied in to losing weight. For example, buying a spiralizer, or buying a smaller-size dress, a new set etc. My rule is setting a goal in terms of weight loss & when that weight goal has been maintained for, say, 7 days in a row, I get myself the reward. Has worked really well so far.

StuntNun · 24/05/2016 10:54

Oi Monkey and Dobby some of us have been at this for multiple Bootcamps! I lost 30lb with Bootcamp in 2013 only to have to start all over again after DS4 appeared on the scene. So now I'm at a good weight for my height but still have about 10lb to lose to reach my goal weight.

Iamdobby63 · 24/05/2016 11:08

StuntNun Lol, don't worry it's only basic number envy which doesn't actually mean much at the end of the day. I too have lost 28lbs over the last year doing LCHF and am only looking to lose about 7lbs, I say 'about' because I'm learning to not take too much notice on scale weight (clearly sometimes I fail at that) and to go by the dress size I want.

You have done really well, you should be really pleased and proud of yourself!

HumphreyCobblers · 24/05/2016 11:22

YY to taking into account different builds when looking at weight. My dsis is much taller than I am and can be slim at 11 stone. I need to be about nine stone to look slim at 5'4" but realistically I will be happy at a bit more than that, given my age and three children. I also carry all my weight on my boobs, back and stomach, so I feel I have a disadvantage there, if I carried my weight more evenly I think I could get away with being a bit heavier.

I must be one of the few people who wish they had a fatter bum Grin I am sort of parsnip shaped!

BursarsFrogs · 24/05/2016 11:55

Good day you all! I've just found new kinds of LC-friendly salads in Sainsbury's lunch section. Always nice to see salad bowls that aren't full of pasta or couscous.

I had a very early and busy morning, so just ate a small bowl of Greek yogurt in a hurry. Now just settling for an early lunch of smoked salmon salad and creamy coffee. I'm bound to be hungry in the afternoon, so there's mozzarella balls, salami and olives in the fridge. I'm making homemade burgers for dinner, and thought I'd give that coleslaw recipe (from spreadsheet) a go.

All this talk of pork belly is making me wonder if I've always just cooked them wrong somehow, since it's never come out nice. It's been a long time since I've tried, to be fair, and maybe I suffered from fat aversion?

yongnian · 24/05/2016 12:06

wombattoo thanks!

AuntieMaggie · 24/05/2016 12:15

monkey yes me...

whistle I had some flavoured chicken from m&s bbq range the other day which was lovely... I think the Jamaican one was 0.5g per 100g carbs and one of the others was about 2g. Not ideal as it's processed but was a lovely treat.

Today's food
Scrambled egg and mushrooms
Usual prawn lunch
Meat and broccoli and cauli

I went to the gym last night and fortunately didn't do myself any damage like I did a fee weeks ago Blush when I overdid it and couldn't walk for a week!

SoggyBottoms · 24/05/2016 12:20

Sorry if this has been asked before. Has anyone found a good cauliflower rice in the supermarket? I've looked in M&S and sainsburys and had no luck...

Iamdobby63 · 24/05/2016 12:24

You should find 'Cauli Rice' in the rice aisle, around the microwave rice section.

Wintersea · 24/05/2016 12:26

All true about builds. I'm around 5ft 9 and felt good clotheswise in size 10-12 at around 11st (got there briefly between DDs years ago but have mostly been a lardy arse). Started low carbing (with blips) on my own back in Feb at 12st 8, so down about 9llbs with another 10 or so to go... Hope I can do it this time
Good pic BIWI to motivate us all
And congratulations stuntnun and humphrey for great losses

Mookbark · 24/05/2016 12:26

Missrainbow and Humphrey thank you for satisfying my curiosity.
Gcal that english muffin recipe looks great, definitely one to try for BC lite. I can imagine it with oodles of butter drool.Have you tried it? I'm wondering if I could do a batch and then freeze?
Monkey because I am vertically challenged, I have to get to 136lbs to get a BMI of 24.9. So, to get into a comfortable BMI, I need to be about 130. Although, tbh, I'm not sure I'll ever get there and might settle for the 136 - 140 range.

SoggyBottoms · 24/05/2016 12:30

Oh really? Thanks iamdobby

monkeyfacegrace · 24/05/2016 12:50

I was joking slightly

It's just numbers I'm jealous of. I too started in 2013, and lost almost 3st. Then DH got cancer and I got pregnant, twice, so it all went out the window.

I'm down to the lowest I've been in years, and at 5'7" with 30J boobs I can pull off my 143lb, but I WANT to be 130lb god damn it Grin

Anyhow,

B: minced beef with an egg
L: sprouts, mushrooms, courgette and chorizo with fried halloumi

Be proud as I hate veg!

I've run out of bottled water so I'm going to have to neck 2l of water tonight after I've got to the shops.

Week 2: Pre-summer Low Carb Bootcamp - come and weigh-in!
Gcalgske · 24/05/2016 12:52

Yip mook it excellent. I make it with almond butter and have eggs benedict or just toasted with lots of butter. They are so quick too.
