Morning all! I'm excited to see what the scales are telling everyone this week - it sounds like we've had some great results so far!

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

Here's to another successful week

B: pork belly fried in coconut oil. BPC
L: courgetti with carbonara sauce and chicken
D: slices of Gammon. FF Greek yoghurt

Off to guzzle more water

margaritasbythesea · 27/05/2016 22:31

I've bought strips of pork belly for lunch tomorrow inspired by this thread. Top tips?

I'm hoping for crunchy skin and sticky fat. Oven on high for a short time then low for a long time?

Veryflummoxed · 27/05/2016 22:47

We have ours roasted, high temperature, with garlic paste rubbed in. It's delicious.

Oops first slipup in BC for me. We had a family celebration tonight and went out for dinner to a Persian restaurant. I ate some of an appetiser that contained walnuts (and herbs / cherub etc) and then my main course was a lamb stew with rice and beans. No alcohol and no bread or dessert so at least that's ok. But I wonder what the scales will show tomorrow..:

ClopySow · 27/05/2016 23:26

I went out for dinner tonight. There were roast potatoes ON MY PLATE! I didn't eat them. It wasn't even hard.

I don't know me any more.

Eva50 · 28/05/2016 00:12

B bacon, egg, sausage, mushrooms
L chicken and ham salad with mayonnaise
D. ff yogurt

Only 1.5l water but I have an upset stomach today. Hoping I will be better tomorrow.

lexloofah · 28/05/2016 04:33

gcal I suppose that explains the price then!

eva hope you are better today

stunt they really can be useless can't they or could he be subconsciously trying to sabotage either self or you both?

As you can see I am awake early and can't blame DCs, nope DH up early as he always is at the weekend, gets up mega early to read the paper but wakes me up too, going to be a 2 cups of tea morning I think, have a good weekend all

NotdeadyetBOING · 28/05/2016 07:31

Moved over onto this thead as apparently has more traffic.

We were out at dinner last night (friend's house) so ate some white rice (not much) and ahem a slice of chocolate tart with ice cream……

HOWEVER, looking at bowl of FF yogurt as we speak.

I am wondering how it works if you do low carb a bit like the intermittent dieting or 5:2 diet - i.e. every other day or something. Obviously slower - but wondering if it still works or the 'normal' days totally derail the process….

Anyone know?

LaserShark · 28/05/2016 07:34

I wouldn't think it would work, notdeadyet, because low carbing works by putting your body into ketosis so that it is running on fat. It takes a few days to get into ketosis and then if you eat a high enough level of carbs it will tip you out of ketosis and you have to get back into it. So doing it intermittently wouldn't work as you'd never be in ketosis for any length of time and wouldn't be burning fat.

LaserShark · 28/05/2016 07:36

Though, the Zoe Harcombe diet advocates carb days and fat days so you could look into that?

Titsalinabumsquash · 28/05/2016 07:50

Sorry I've been absent for a couple of days, after 14 months of breastfeeding I have mastitis and I feel crap with a capital C.

I've spent the past few days, picking at ham/cheese and I managed half a salmon portion last night with steamed greens.

lasttimeround · 28/05/2016 08:18

Hi ladies I'd like to join you. I've just done my first week. Its kind of turning my world upside down to eat so totally differently but i want to give it a solid go.

Do i enter my details on the spreadsheet or just put them on here? I don't want to mess up systems in place.

Have a good weekend

stilllovingmysleep · 28/05/2016 08:28

Phew, just weighed myself (after having eaten some rice & beans yesterday, although not a big amount) & it was OK. I still will be super strict this weekend & I think I'll continue with strict BC for 1 more week at least.

lasttimeround welcome! I think you need to open the spreadsheet & add your name and starting weight there? Am I wrong BIWI?

margaritasbythesea · 28/05/2016 08:41

Thanks veryflummoxed. I'm looking forward to it.

Lex -that would have me fuming although it does explain to me when people find time to read the paper which I haven't managed to do since having small people.

Hello lastimearound Smile

Flisspaps · 28/05/2016 08:45

Morning campers!

Can someone enter last Monday's weight on the spreadsheet for me please? 178 lbs.

Think it's going to be smoked salmon and scrambled egg for breakfast today. I'm going to a gun tasting this afternoon - 3 different gins (it'll only be a drop of each) but I might back out.

Statelychangers · 28/05/2016 08:45

Could some lovely person please enter my weight on the spreadsheet as 10stone 4lbs please - I won't be near a scale for the rest of the week! Will try very hard not to wobble.

Yesterday's food
Breakfast Square sausage with coleslaw
Lunch boiled eggs with mushroom shallots asparagus and cherry tomatoes
Dinner steak with leeks, avocado and garlic and chilli broccoli and a but more coleslaw.
Snack Serrano ham
A very hungry and very physical day.

BursarsFrogs · 28/05/2016 08:47

Good morning all.

I had a slip up last night too. A GP sent us off to A&E before I managed home for dinner, and we only made it home at 3 am, so no dinner for me. I was really hungry and had some chocolate and nuts in the hospital though - luckily not a huge amount - and thankfully had plenty of water.

Woken up with a huge headache today, really bad. Feel like I'm hungover without having had any wine. Very unfair. Cooking some eggs, drinking water and coffee and waiting for the painkillers to kick in.

I hope you all are having a nicer bank holiday weekend than I am, so far! I hope you feel better soon Titsa!

Gcalgske · 28/05/2016 08:52

Stately what square sausage do you get? I love it but can find one low carb

Mookbark · 28/05/2016 09:01

Still it sounds as if you made the best choices you could in the circumstances. I'm glad the scales are ok today.
Clops that is dedication. I would and could ask for no potatoes, but could I resist them if they were on my plate? I really don't know. Well done.
Notdead no, I don't think that'll work but stunt nun or BIWI will come in and explain the science better. Apart from anything else, I don't think you'll get the appetite suppressant effect (It is common to feel more hungry after extra carbs) so it would be more difficult to stick to, I think.
Tits hope you feel better soon.
Last welcome, you can add yourself to the spread sheet, if you can. Otherwise put your name and weight in bold and wombat will add it for you when she checks the thread.
bursar so not fair feeling like you have a hangover when you haven't drunk! Hope the water and painkillers are kicking in.

So, I'm now on holiday from work for the week. That means I will be going into work for a couple of hours later. Didn't quite finish all I needed to before leaving last night. I had the choice of staying later to finish or rushing home at 4.45 so I could get to the farm shop for my steak before it closed. The steak obviously won. Grin then I really will be off for the week.
Haven't decided what food I'll have today, we haven't got much in so I'll nip to the shops on my way home from work and get a big internet shop tomorrow. Think I'm going to have another mosey through the recipe thread, should keep me entertained for several hours.
The sun is shining here, bit of a miracle for a BH weekend, might need to get the BBQ out later.
Have a fab weekend everyone.

CiderwithBuda · 28/05/2016 09:01

Bursars - A&E trip doesn't sound good. Hope you are ok.

Lex - there is getting up early to read the paper and there is getting up in the middle of the night! I think I would have to kill him. You are a better man than me!

Scales not being overly friendly at the moment. I know I'm a bit bunged up at the moment so need to get things moving.

My Jillian Michaels DVD arrived. No excuses now.

Bursar that's not fair - feeling hungover without the alcohol. Hope the water and painkiller kick in soon.

The sun in shining and I'm off work (although will nip in for a few hours later to tidy up some loose ends), so feeling pretty happy today.
Not sure what food I'll have today, but the BBQ is beckoning.
Happy BH weekend everyone.
