Morning all! I'm excited to see what the scales are telling everyone this week - it sounds like we've had some great results so far!

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

Here's to another successful week

betty it's very unlikely to be the fat that's making you fat! In fact, if you've had to add in some snacks, this would suggest that you're not eating enough fat.

Honestly - when you're adjusted to low carb eating, you shouldn't be hungry between meals, and therefore you shouldn't need snacks.

List out for me what you've been eating (and drinking) and let me see if I can help you.

However, as others have said, your weight will fluctuate daily - that's perfectly normal. It's the longterm trend that we're most interested, which is why it's often better to only weigh weekly.

I'm wondering where Sayrra is staying Grin

Just in case you pop in, Sayrra, we're in an apartment in Vesterbro.

Oh, and still you're absolutely right about maintenance being the hardest thing Sad

It's really easy voice of very bitter experience to get to your target weight and then think you can go back to eating whatever you like/what you were eating before/that a few more carbs won't matter.

Truth is, if you don't work out what level of carbs your body can tolerate, it's really, really easy to overdo it and for the weight to pile back on.

I deluded myself that because I was going to the gym regularly, that everything would be OK - and of course it wasn't. The other thing that happens is that the weight tends to go back on fairly gradually so unless you're vigilant about weighing, suddenly there's a stone piled back on.

It may seem that maintenance is a long way away (for most of us, anyway), but it's a really good idea to start thinking about how you're going to manage, and what your strategy is going to be when you reach a weight/shape that you're happy with.

I have got up this morning feeling completely unable to eat.

I've had a few glasses of water, black tea and coffee with cream...

I didn't even bring lunch to work!

stilllovingmysleep · 27/05/2016 10:37

BIWI I agree 100%. For me the BC support has been the number 1 motivating factor this time around which is why I make sure I check in everyday as part of my routine to keep me on track (and to help others).

I would love to continue some kind of maintenance thread after BC for those who want to continue LC eating with some exceptions / adjustments. Let's think how that can be done.

lexloofah · 27/05/2016 12:07

cathemeral washed it down with my one cup of tea a day

am on a roll today, for lunch we are having from the recipe thread BIWI's shallot, bacon & gruyere tart with the addition of more asparagus and a side salad with hm mayo. tart contains nuts though so technically BC lite which is only a few days away - yay!

Humphrey thanks, oh dear 2 years is a long time to wait and we are renting so maybe once we have our own garden I can try, in the meantime I should think we could manage some salad leaves in containers

Congratulations on the mortgage Xotic!

Someone twat me on the head with some faith. I've been eyeing MFT, and I know that's not the way for me to go!

Breakfast today was an avocado and black coffee. Didn't fancy anything else. I'm just home for a few hours, and made a bit more of an effort for lunch. Bacon and button mushrooms fried in butter, with some cucumber slices, and a creamy matcha tea for afters. Yum.

Dinner will high meat sausages and cabbage and shallots cooked with butter.

BursarsFrogs · 27/05/2016 12:23

lex that looks very very tasty! :)

BursarsFrogs · 27/05/2016 12:24

*MFP, not MFT. Nevermind me. I think I need more coffee...

MissRainbowBrite · 27/05/2016 12:36

Just had a lovely Biwi inspired no pizza pizza for lunch.
Cut up a large tomato into slices and spread on a plate, cover with courgette, Brie and a drizzle of oil. Under the grill for 5 mins and add prosciutto and S&P - was delicious.

lexloofah · 27/05/2016 13:09

great news xotic, are you off house hunting or already got something picked out?

bursar, it was delish and it held together so well, cut into proper slices after about 10 mins resting in the tin, in fact it held together better than some pastry tarts I made in the past and really you would never know it was almonds instead of flour, that there BIWI is a genius

Mookbark · 27/05/2016 13:10

Just been catching up as not posted for a few days. All going well here. I had my , and dh's, favourite dinner last night - chicken carbonara with courgetti. Mmm, lovely and tastes so decadent when eating it. Could never have anything like that when I ate low fat.
Felt unwell and fluey yesterday morning. I was worried I might be coming down with something, but had a mug of bovril and was right as rain in no time. Wasn't expecting a dose of carb flu three weeks in.
I'm off work for half term week so need to be extra careful about staying on track. Would usually have a glass of something alcoholic tonight to celebrate, but I will abstain.
Well done with the mortgage xotic and lex that looks lovely. I have Konica noodles in the cupboard, never got round to trying them yet, not sure I'll bother now I've heard the effect on some of you! Hope you are feeling better Flowers

Food today:
B - creamy coffee x2, halloumi and olives
S - roast chicken breast in mayonnaise with salad
D - hoping to leave work in time to get two nice big fat steaks for tonight. Will have with peppercorn sauce and roasted veg.
S - spicy chai latte.

Hope everyone has a good weekend.

WanHeda · 27/05/2016 13:11

I made tuna melt burger type things for lunch, think I need to adjust the recipe as they threatened to fall apart the whole time!

Xoticdreamz · 27/05/2016 13:28

Thanks for the congrats , I'm house hunting 😀
My two eldest are both at uni but one back for holidays and the other living full time here so I will need a 3 bed rather than a two which does make a massive difference in price unfortunately . Really pleased though, hopefully no more paying other people's morgage off ! Worked out that we have paid 36 grand in the 4 years we have stayed in this place alone . So much .

Not very hungry today , had some eggs and a creamy coffee . Out for dinner tonight so hopefully they will adjust if needed .

KOKO everyone

Hello all,

I can't remember if I checked in yesterday or not so am going to log Thursday and Friday food below.

Thankfully no repeats of that weird wobble I had on Tuesday and otherwise I am feeling good, if not a little 'blocked' shall we say. Going to drown myself in water this afternoon to see if that gets things moving..... The beginning of the week was the opposite so I am not sure what's happened?

Thurs
B - coyo, ff greek and some dble cream plus flaxseed and coco nibs, plus a coffee
L - salad with M&S pot of calamari and prawns with dip
D - BBQ'd ribs in a hm LC marinade, with kale crisps and a slightly odd, but tasty chopped salad of yellow pepper, spring onion, cucumber, cubed cheddar and chilli flakes
I did also make myself a small 'pudding' which was a melted square of 95% cocoa chocolate (I know I should wait until Monday for this, sorry), mixed with about 2-3 tbsp double cream. Was amazing and very rich so I didn't need more than that.

Fri
B - coyo, ff greek and some dble cream plus flaxseed and coco nibs, plus a coffee
L - salad from work canteen which involved loads of lettuce, olives, tuna mayo, boiled egg and vinaigrette
D - TBC, but probably salmon with asparagus and hollandaise

KOKO over the weekend everyone!

reader77 · 27/05/2016 13:55

Hello all.
I feel very inspired by all the food posted, esp the pics.
Congrats xotic!
And stiill, the exact same thing happened to me this week: I seemed to put back on 1.5 lb of what I lost last week and felt really disheartened. Weighed again today and it's gone! Keep the faith! ( and the fat in ones diet!

B - ff yogurt
L - baked salmon steak in olive oil with my version of fries: green beans roasted in olive oil and salt.

readyforno2 · 27/05/2016 14:07

I am still here, just been really under the weather.

I am currently braving Costco cafe. The boys have had cake. I had the chicken fajita wrap (minus the wrap)

MontserratCaballe · 27/05/2016 14:14

Hello everyone

Really enjoying reading about everyone's food. I went out last night and had tuna sashimi then a big fat burger with a rocket and blue cheese salad. It was gorgeous. Yum yum.

2 things which I have noticed which may be of interest to others - first (especially for older bootcampers) all this water is plumping my face out and getting rid of the finer lines. Obviously I still have the deep wrinkles but the smaller lines are less obvious and I look far fresher (am 46). Secondly, even though I have only lost 3lb (have been LC for a while, not just the last week or so) my size has gone down so that others have noticed and clothes which were tight are now fitting or even a bit loose. I would therefore urge you not to be guided by the scales alone - even if you are not losing much weight, you may be losing some inches and that is brilliant.

Have a great afternoon, everyone Smile

StuntNun · 27/05/2016 14:16

DH bought maple barbecue pork loin from Tesco for lunch. 8.7g carbs per 100g. Shock I'm currently trying to claw the horrible sweet taste out of my mouth.

nekobus · 27/05/2016 14:35

Hello all! Just checking in, having found a minute or 30 to catch up with the thread!

Thanks everyone for posting food and photos, lots of inspiration so I'm going to try BIWIs tart next week (looks lush) and I've seen curries mentioned a few times - how are people making these? With paste or powder or lots of spices from scratch? And what sauce? Sorry just not made one in a long time Smile

Today:
B - chunk of brie, chorizo slices (grabbed for eating in car)
L - picnic out with DD: hb eggs dipped in mayo, celery dipped in boursin, olives, cucumber. Was really filling
D - will be LC sausages I think, with steamed buttery cabbage and I might roast some veg with the sausages.

Have managed 1.5L water today, another 1.5 to go, I'm sloshing about a bit but I know by now how much it helps.

Have a great bank holiday all Smile

WanHeda · 27/05/2016 14:38

nekobus I made this curry last week, it was very easy & LC friendly. I swapped the onion for shallot, then threw the whole lot in the slow cooker for the day. It was really tasty!

Mookbark · 27/05/2016 14:52

That looks yummy Wan

LaserShark · 27/05/2016 15:14

I'm doing a roast chicken, can anyone remind me how to do the gravy? I think I remember to put veg under the chicken while it roasts and then mash it all up with the juices?

ReggaeShark · 27/05/2016 16:04

Can someone add the link to the recipe thread please? Half term next week so need to plan to avoid carby grazing.

Patterkiller · 27/05/2016 16:42

I haven't checked in all week. Everyone's food is so inspiring. Meal planning for next week nearly done.
Today
B FF yogurt
L butter chicken frozen left overs from last week
D we are going for Italian. I usually get a couple of starters for my main course as I'm neither a pizza or pasta fan. So probably tomato and mozzarella salad and prawns in loads of garlic butter.
