Welcome everyone!

We have around 130 people signed up this time, so it's going to be a busy and fast-moving thread.

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness for you to enter your weight.

The lovely Sayrra manages the spreadsheet. Please don't mess with it! Just enter your weight and leave all the other columns/rows alone!

I'll start a questions thread to run along side this chat thread, so that you can post stuff there in the knowledge that your question will definitely be seen. (I can't promise to get to your questions immediately, but I will read and answer them)

And please, please, please - no matter how fast-moving the thread is, please read the whole thing and don't just post your own thing. You'll miss a lot of valuable stuff that way, and it also presumes that I (and other posters) are happy to keep repeating stuff.

But above all, very good luck everyone!

Lunch - side salad from M&S with the cherry tomatoes removed, plus a pack of spicy chicken and full fat dip to go with. Carb count for the whole shebang was under 3g / 100g I think.

Dinner will be some bbq'd chicken with asparagus and hollandaise sauce.

Have been so busy at work that I totally didn't notice the morning go by and I didn't miss any 11 o'clock snack opportunities, thank god. Either that or eggs for breakfast really does work at keeping you full for longer!

Things I learned on my lunch break:

Reduced fat tinned coconut milk is lower carb than normal tinned coconut milk (about 1.9 per 100g as opposed to 3.6) Surprising as thought higher fat would be lower carb.

Alpro soya yoghurt with coconut is only 2.2g per 100g which is less than Total.

Whistle, I found that carb counts for coconut milk vary wildly, I have found that Lidl full fat is high at 3.9 but the Levi Roots one is low at 1.9 for the full fat one.

just had lunch - left over beef and vegetable stir fry from last night. Still feel hungry/ or maybe not really hungry just like I want to eat more. Something sweet ideally. So am ignoring that - will drink another big glass of water - I need 3.5 litres a day according to the marvellous spreadsheet - and make a black coffee.

And then I could perhaps try doing some work to distract me. :-)

Thanks WanHeda
whistle remember fat is good, if you go for a lower fat coconut milk to keep carbs down try to add the fat back in.

Think I might be getting a bout of carb flu Sad

Drank 3.5 litres of water already today, used extra salt on my lunch, and have snacked on two babybels, but feeling a little woozy, and headachy.

Any tips to combat it?

I'm having the iPad/iPhone issues with the fabulous spreadsheet so I'm jumping on the bandwagon and asking someone to add my weight please - 149lbs.

I've done ok today, I've just had dinner with the kids because I have an evil double shift at work this evening with a 45 minute commute between the 2.

My day has gone like this. I think it's right but please tell me if I've slipped up anywhere I'm a LC newbie.

B - 2 egg mushroom omelet fried in butter with a coffee with cream.

Lunch - a slice of ham, a handful of olives, a chunk of cheese, a handful of salad leaves.

Dinner - bolognese (fatty beef mince, courgette, shallots, tinned toms, celery, dried herbs and a tap of marmite) with steamed broccoli, cheese grated on top and since I was missing my usual post dinner fruit bowl raid I had some total ff Greek yoghurt with a dash of vanilla extract. (I hope to reduce this everyday until I no longer automatically crave a 'pudding' of some kind)

I've drunk lots of water but will take a bottle with me to work.

I've been for a long walk and when I had a craving for a thick slice of bread and jam I did some gardening and played with my duckling instead to take my mind off.

Hopefully I've got the right idea?

All you food sounds lovely.
B. Lidl turkish yogurt
L. Pretend Ploughmans - Egg Mayonnaise, Cheddar, ham, lettuce and garlic mushrooms in butter.
Later D Chicken Fajita on lettuce cups with turkish yogurt.

I haven't been bothered by snacking which is unusual for me as I am a real grazer. Just hope I can last until bed time without reaching for the wine.

Sayrra there are 5 posters to be added to the sheet if you can add some additional rows please I don't want to mess it up Grin

Socially I saw that you had tomatoes with breakfast, just be careful as they can be quite carby.

So today
B: Poached salmon and cream cheese
L: Left over roast pork cubed
D: Steak, mushrooms in butter, cauliflower
S: Crackling strips
More than my quota for water slosh

Has anyone ever had unexpected benefits from low carbing? I've been doing unofficial LC for about a week now, not completely strict, but I haven't eaten bread or pasta in that time. My sense of smell seems to be improving! I have a nasal spray and take antihistimines for allergic rhinitis. Before I started on the antihistimines I would regularly cook and eat entire meals without smelling or tasting any of it. The antihistimines made it a bit better but just now I could smell the brocolli boiling for the dcs' tea! It's so bizarre, and brilliant Grin I sort of hope it's long lasting, but I'm also a bit worried that I have some kind of low level reaction to wheat. I want to be able to eat bread/pasta again at some point...

I had a whey protein shake for breakfast as I was running g late, chicken salad for lunch and a stir fry for dinner. That might be a bit high carb as I used a ready made black bean sauce which was 15g cars per pack, but it was shared between 4 people. I didn't have any noodles. I keep filling up a 750 ml water bottle and carry it around. So I don't know how much water I've had but I thunk I've done it 3 times, plus herbal tea and a sparkling water and lime with dinner.
