Welcome everyone!

We have around 130 people signed up this time, so it's going to be a busy and fast-moving thread.

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness for you to enter your weight.

The lovely Sayrra manages the spreadsheet. Please don't mess with it! Just enter your weight and leave all the other columns/rows alone!

I'll start a questions thread to run along side this chat thread, so that you can post stuff there in the knowledge that your question will definitely be seen. (I can't promise to get to your questions immediately, but I will read and answer them)

And please, please, please - no matter how fast-moving the thread is, please read the whole thing and don't just post your own thing. You'll miss a lot of valuable stuff that way, and it also presumes that I (and other posters) are happy to keep repeating stuff.

But above all, very good luck everyone!

What about goats cheese? Is it as bad as dairy?

I can live without milk and cream, but i love cheese very very very much.

reader77 · 19/05/2016 15:08

Interesting about dairy. I've got PCOS and did wonder.

If I do stall I'll ditch it I think.

monkeyfacegrace · 19/05/2016 15:09

B: steak plus 3 buttery scrambled eggs, mouthful of DH's bacon.
L: tuna mayo with lettuce, rocket and spinach
D: chicken breast with broccoli and butter.

Am I still massively high in protein? I'm at a loss how to eat fat and not protein Sad

Iamdobby63 · 19/05/2016 15:17

monkeyfacegrace Imo your breakfast is very high in protein, you could switch some for say mushrooms.

tuna is lean so is it packed in oil?

Chicken thighs are better (but I'm not too keen either)

Iamdobby63 · 19/05/2016 15:29

In view of the dairy conversation and the realisation my days menu was dairy heavy I will be replacing tonight ps carbonara with beef bolognaise (sp) with courgetti

Jemmima · 19/05/2016 15:31

Clopy from what I have read, goats and sheep cheese/milk can be better as it is closer to human breast milk rather than the high oestrogen in cows udder milk. But health wise for hormones, all milks are best avoided if you have hormonal issues. That is what I have gleaned from my researching endlessly. I went dairy free about a year ago now and I don't miss it. I will have some coconut milk/almond milk occasionally and to me now they taste just like normal milk. I also have coconut milk yoghurt which is extremely yummy and coconut milk icecream. Protein, fat but limited carbs. I use coconut oil in place of dairy.
Reader there is a PCOS blog/site that advises removing all dairy to help heal PCOS. Lots of information about this on the web.

monkeyfacegrace · 19/05/2016 15:35

I went out for breakfast for DH birthday so had to make the best of the menu. Mushrooms are vile little slimy creatures so no, I'm not eating them Grin

Tuna is in brine so I added loads of mayo.

Everyone else sounds like they're doing really well Smile

reader77 · 19/05/2016 15:52

Thanks jemima lll have a look

Thunderbumsmum · 19/05/2016 16:02

Shit, I missed the start. Am I too late to join?

Pengweng · 19/05/2016 16:12

Still got a cracking headache but persevering. I nearly licked DT1s face earlier though when she had some kinder egg smeared across it but managed to just use a baby wipe instead. I had some yoghurt and vanilla extract instead.
Have pinned that butter chicken recipe as it looks better than my old one. I use boned out chicken thighs though so will keep to those.

On another note, I'm going to have to have a look at the recipe thread for things i can adapt to suit my VEGAN mother. Sorry but I felt the vegan was necessary as we literally eat nothing the same Grin
I'm going to struggle to cook for her when she comes to stay for 4 days in a few weeks. Will at least be on BC light by then so could squeeze a few more veggies in. I might just tell her she has to cook her own food as all she eats is fruit smoothies and lentil salads. I wouldn't mind so much but she is so faddy and this is a relatively (as in only in the past month) new thing. Last time she was here she was chowing down on bacon and eggs and roast chicken.

Sorry ranting musings over. As you were Grin

Pengweng · 19/05/2016 16:16

monkeyface mushrooms cooked in butter until really crispy are amazing and not at all slimy. I hate gross squishy mushrooms.

This is also a really good recipe for mushrooms. They are like crack, they don't ever have chance to cool down as i eat them hot and crispy straight from the oven. Also good crumbled up on salads. Mushroom recipe at the bottom of the page.

Patapouf · 19/05/2016 16:24

Hello gcal! What's important is that it's behind me Grin I won't get the results for 6ish weeks.

Courgettes for last nights lasagne were rotten so I substituted spinach. It's not very lasagne-ish but still delicious. Had some for breakfast today.

L: snackling crackling from m&s. Tasted like salty dust so I won't repurchase.
D: going to an event with Mexican food so I'll go for the least carby options possible. Probably meat and salad!

Pengweng · 19/05/2016 16:29

I'm also loving these as snacks as I can keep an eye on portion size, otherwise i'd eat half a block Blush

titsalina that carbonara look delish
Mom I'll add you
It's great to see that everyone is doing so well.

B: Tuna mayo
L: Chicken and courgette curry
D: Bacon and egg (I know it's processed)
S: Pork crackling/sm amount of cheese
Loads of water

Patterkiller · 19/05/2016 17:27

My courgettes are off, slimy little feckers. I was so looking forward to carbonara and I still have to feed the rest of of Patters the real version while I drool over it.
I don't think I have an alternative to courgettes.

I have hot smoked salmon which was for lunch tomorrow what can I have with it? Eggs? I have cauliflower, shallots, cheese? I'm a bit sick of salad.

So so sad for my carbonara. And no I don't have a shop that I can be arsed to trek to it's too far and too busy this time of night.

WhiffyBiffer · 19/05/2016 17:33

Hi all, finally feeling full of energy today - amazing!! Didn't even feel like falling Asleep mid afternoon.

B: ff greek yog, coffee

L: omelette in butter with spring onion, (little bit of) chorizo & cheese

D will be: probably homemade curry or chilli from the freezer

Thank you Biwi et al. for doing these.

AuntieMaggie · 19/05/2016 17:42

Today's food:
2 boiled eggs and bacon
leftover lasagne
chicken salad and coleslaw

ClopySow · 19/05/2016 17:42

I'd be making a cauliflower mash and serving the carbonara sauce with that patter

ClopySow · 19/05/2016 17:43

Oh...someone mentioned nails growing like mad a while back? Mine too, talons.

WanHeda · 19/05/2016 17:52

Butter chicken with a side of mushrooms, really scrummy!

Pre-summer Low Carb Bootcamp - I declare it to be open!
StrawberryLeaf · 19/05/2016 17:55

Wahenda I came on to post how amazing the butter chicken was! Seriously best thing I've eaten in months! Never thought to take a picture. I had mine with buttered broccoli and cauliflower.

Thanks for the recipe might make it again tomorrow Wink

WanHeda · 19/05/2016 17:58

That's my first time using that recipe Strawberry but I agree, it's a keeper!

feekerry · 19/05/2016 18:07

Totally lacking energy and oomph these past few days. Mix of carb flu and coming of sugar.... Water drinking my way thru it.
Here is hoping it will lift tomorrow x
