Welcome everyone!

We have around 130 people signed up this time, so it's going to be a busy and fast-moving thread.

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness for you to enter your weight.

The lovely Sayrra manages the spreadsheet. Please don't mess with it! Just enter your weight and leave all the other columns/rows alone!

I'll start a questions thread to run along side this chat thread, so that you can post stuff there in the knowledge that your question will definitely be seen. (I can't promise to get to your questions immediately, but I will read and answer them)

And please, please, please - no matter how fast-moving the thread is, please read the whole thing and don't just post your own thing. You'll miss a lot of valuable stuff that way, and it also presumes that I (and other posters) are happy to keep repeating stuff.

But above all, very good luck everyone!

I sneaked onto the scales this morning too but I put ON a pound! Not surprising for me tbh, I am still pre-menstrual and I always hang on to an awful lot of water when I have a late period. Hopefully a full month on this WOE with plenty of fat will mean this symptom with disappear next month.

CathemeralChild · 19/05/2016 09:04

I've had a shaky couple of days and I don't think I've been getting it quite right.
Not enough water, not enough fat, too much dairy and also a few nuts: I don't eat meat.
I'm getting lots of tips from the thread though!

Titsalinabumsquash · 19/05/2016 09:06

I shopped for radishes too! Grin

I had scrambled eggs (w cream) and bacon for breakfast.
Coffee w cream on the side.

A selection of snacky bits for lunch (I raided the local deli yesterday)

I was thinking of a carbonara made with courgetti for dinner, with lots of cream, eggs, bacon and fresh parsley... That would work right?

I'm feeling healthier today although still really irritated with the world.

DP is already looking slimmer and fresher faced (he always looks noticeably different with a pound or 2 off the bastard)

CathemeralChild · 19/05/2016 09:07

I can share my favourite snack:
cucumber wedges sprinkled with freshly ground salt and black pepper, ground chilli flakes, and cumin. I can demolish a whole plate!
And if you roast and grind your own cumin seeds, even better!

Florene · 19/05/2016 09:10

CathemeralChild I'm veggie and am also struggling to work out how to eat plenty of fat without overdoing it on cheese? I've had lots of cheese so far which by all accounts isn't great...

regularbutpanickingabit · 19/05/2016 09:26

Crap crap crap crap crap! Just arrived at client and had ordered a gluten free lunch which usually means lovely big salad or cooked food with veg. Nope. Today is a fecking jacket potato.
Ok, made myself salmon and cream cheese roll ups for breakfast and are those on the train. Have a stick of celery with cream cheese ready to snack on. Now panicking about what to do for lunch. Think I am going to race out (have 20 mins but who knows where shops are!) and see if I can get something else. Aargh!

Roast radishes.... Sounds good and just bought a bunch yesterday..
Thanks for the heads up on Miso Gcal. Forgot to check in the supermarket yesterday and you're right, the Itsu sachet I found lurking at the back of my cupboard is way too high in carbs.
Yesterday
B coffee/cream (I know, but nothing to eat apart from cereal and toast before supermarket run)
L lettuce-wrapped tuna mayo
D boiled egg salad
Not enough water, too much coffee... Must improve on that today...
Today's plan:
B butter mushrooms and egg
L tuna mayo lettuce or ham/Philly rolls with salad
D pork stir fry with lots of veg
Keep on all!

Mookbark · 19/05/2016 09:34

Morning all.
I sent DH out to buy radishes last night, amongst other things, and they didn't have any. I know why now - all you buggers have been buying them. Grin
Tits carbonara with courgetti is one of my favourite lc meals, so go for it, it'll be lovely.
Good luck at your ILs Fliss that sounds hard. Will they accept you eating your own snacks or are they the type to try and push cake, etc at you?

Breakfast and lunch are same as yesterday, so I won't list them. We are out for dinner tonight, going for a quick bite to eat before going to a comedy show. I fancy something like a bunless burger, but will keep it lc and I will probably drive, so no drinking, as I think DH got up at 3.30 this morning and he'll be shattered.

I'm feeling good, physically and mentally, at the moment. I have lost about 0.5lb since Monday (But lost 3.4lbs last week), but I am definitely less bloated. I only look about 6 months pregnant now, rather than 9.

achangeisgonnacome · 19/05/2016 09:38

I didn't log in yesterday but was ok

B: boiled egg and cheese
L: no time for lunch, so just a regular coffee, admittedly with a dash of milk
D: pork belly ribs

S: 1/2 a bag of pork scratchings

Today, I'm at the hospital with DM (all day)

B: rest of the pork scratchings and a coffee
L: not sure yet
D: will be either chicken fajitas (lettuce instead of tortilla wraps), with peppers, onions, sour cream, guacamole and salsa. If not it'll be spinach and eggs with onions, chilli, and cumin.

I know it's early days, but I'm feeling positive with LCBCing this time round- have failed miserably the last few, which is why felt the need to name change as too embarrassed.

StrawberryLeaf · 19/05/2016 09:39

Morning all, I feel loads better than I did the last few days, not sure if it's the little more carbs yesterday (definitely had more salad and veg) or the carb flu is lifting but I feel much better Grin

Today's plan is:

B - I had quarter of an avocado, 3 slices of cheddar both spread very thinly with marmite and half a cup of Greek yoghurt

L - was thinking scrambled eggs with tuna and broccoli

D - am gonna try to make a chicken korma someone linked to. Using shallots and with caulk rice and spinach

KP86 · 19/05/2016 09:40

Carbonara is amazing.

There is a recipe for pumpkin carbonara on one of the LC websites (link below) which is absolutely delicious. So rich.

You could easily replace the noodles they use with courgetti.

Woke with a stonking headache this morning but paracetamol, coffee with cream and a quick wobble round the park with the dog and it's gone!

I had a sneaky peak weigh in and I have lost 6.5 pounds Shock. I have done WW & SW countless several times and only ever loose 2lbs at most in the first week so I am amazed.

B. Ff yogurt, baby bel, a cold Heck chicken sausage, a strip of green pepper and some cucumber.
L. Chicken salad with Mayonaise.
D. Steak in a peppercorn sauce (any ideas for making the sauce?) roasted celeriac chips and spinach cooked in butter.

I have pork scratchings if I need anything else but I haven't needed a snack at all so far I'm such a pig at mealtimes.

RaisinGirls · 19/05/2016 10:17

I did a sneaky weigh in this morning. First time I stood on scales it said I'd lost 4lbs. I stood off and stood on again and it said I'd put on 3lbs. Didn't move the scales and was standing on them in the same way

I think I might need some new scales!

Pengweng · 19/05/2016 10:28

I still have some kind of plague/virus thing going on coupled with maybe carb flu as have cracking headache today. DTs are both sick and off school so we are all just lying around feeling sorry for overselves. I made us scrambled eggs in butter with sausages (low carb) for breakfast though. Lunch will be snacky bits and I really need to eat the rest of the goats cheese before it goes off. Dinner is aubergines with spicy mince thingy on top (dh has made already and i just need to chuck in oven) and i will put sour cream on mine.

I'm amazed i've lasted this long because when sick i normally just want tomato soup and crackers. Need to up the water though, I'm normally really good and have loads but yesterday I couldn't be arsed moving to refill my bottle Blush

Onwards and downwards ladies. Hope you all have a good day.

BagpussOhSagpuss · 19/05/2016 10:29

Sneaky weigh in here too....3lbs!
Am really surprised how easy this is to stick to too. I'm not hungry, and I'm learning how to tell the difference between carb cravings and real hunger pangs. I'm even getting to the stage where my favourite food of all- potatoes- are not really tempting me anymore.
Thanks for the heads up re spices and rubs, I was going to use them to pep things up but having checked the packets, I think I might have to think again.
So far today...
B- Big bowl of Greek yoghurt
S- feta cheese and Italian salami
Have tuna mayo planned for lunch, and chicken and veg for tea.

CathemeralChild · 19/05/2016 10:44

WandofElder I've got some avocados ripening.
And totally agree about the butter!

SayrraT · 19/05/2016 10:51

Really well done Eva if I'm right that means that you are down into the next stone bracket Grin

Iamdobby63 · 19/05/2016 11:00

RaisinGirls That's so annoying, yes I would either replace them or ditch them and use a tape measure instead. Also scales should be place on a hard floor as carpets can give out random weights.

Everyone still suffering today are you drinking enough water, adding salt and or taking a couple of oxo (or similar) drinks each day? It will pass.

I missed the roasted radishes, just got back from the shops! On list for next week. This week I will be roasting turnips! Lol - funny what we get excited about.

Today I plan

Breakfast, Greek yogurt, coffee with cream

Lunch. Salad, Mushrooms stuffed with cream cheese, cheese, bacon. Homemade vinegarette dressing for salad.

Dinner: Carbonara (seams a popular choice today lol) with courgetti.

Snacks if needed, hard boiled egg or pork scratchings. Coffee with cream and water ++++++++

Iamdobby63 · 19/05/2016 11:02

Eva50, wow that's amazing! Well done you.

WanHeda · 19/05/2016 11:04

Have got butter chicken in the slow cooker for tonight's tea, I'll have veg with mine and the family will have rice.

Statelychangers · 19/05/2016 11:18

Stood on the scales this morning and despite it being TOM, I have lost 1lb, usually I gain a couple!
Brunch- shakshuka with 2 eggs and broccoli - very little tomato sauce.
Late lunch watercress &avocado salad
Dinner - I'm out tonight and, have already checked out the menu and its fine I am going to have a drink - it's my 5th week of low carbing so I'm doing a wee bit of bootcamp light. And I will be doing a long dog walk and then bootcamp to burn off all those alcohol calories tomorrow.

eleven59 · 19/05/2016 11:44

Good afternoon everyone. I am surprised at how good I'm feeling on the whole. I've been for a run today and felt strong.

B Bullet coffee, eggs ham and cheese muffin thingies
L Minced beef, guacomole, sour cream, rocket and courgetti (delish)
Planned dinner - left overs from breakfast and lunch

Quick question for you experts: Is this a good weight loss diet or a good diet to maintain a healthy weight for everyone? I'm wondering whether the kids would benefit from less carbs and more fat. My eldest certainly gets sugar spikes and lows which manifests in seriously grumpy moods mostly in the morning.

BIWI · 19/05/2016 11:57

There's no reason why cutting back the carbs like potatoes, pasta, bread, cereals and rice in favour of more vegetables, salads and things like full fat milk and cheese wouldn't be good for them!

Our 'typical' breakfast of cereal, toast and fruit juice is a horrible overload of sugar on anyone's system.
