Welcome everyone!

We have around 130 people signed up this time, so it's going to be a busy and fast-moving thread.

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness for you to enter your weight.

The lovely Sayrra manages the spreadsheet. Please don't mess with it! Just enter your weight and leave all the other columns/rows alone!

I'll start a questions thread to run along side this chat thread, so that you can post stuff there in the knowledge that your question will definitely be seen. (I can't promise to get to your questions immediately, but I will read and answer them)

And please, please, please - no matter how fast-moving the thread is, please read the whole thing and don't just post your own thing. You'll miss a lot of valuable stuff that way, and it also presumes that I (and other posters) are happy to keep repeating stuff.

But above all, very good luck everyone!

I was doing pretty well today, despite baking a 5 layer chocolate cake and making sugar roses for my MIL's 70th. Then I wrecked it at the last minute by having chicken bovril thinking it was no different from normal bovril. But it's way higher in carbs!!

B two boiled eggs and Caesar salad without croutons
L prawn and avocado salad
D steak with celeriac chips and anchovy butter
S blue cheese wrapped in chorizo, chicken bovril.

trixymalixy · 18/05/2016 23:35

Oh and loads of water. Prob about 3l.

SociallyAcceptableCookie · 19/05/2016 00:07

whistle I snuck a weigh in this morning and I've lost 0.7 kg since Monday. Halo It was very motivating!

Gcalgske · 19/05/2016 00:34

Oh wand it could still be hormonal if that's being screwy? I stall and go up/ down all the time so I know how frustrating it is. Maybe banish the scales for the rest of the first two weeks of BC and try measuring? Flowers

Wintersea depends on brand, the itsu stuff is high but you can get this one www.tesco.com/groceries/product/details/?id=282647229 which is only 1.7g in a 20g serve although it has rice in the ingredients so be cautious and cut it out if you start craving carbs. Personally I bung bones, Apple cider vinegar and salt iin the slow cooker and make myself 'bone broth' (which freezes well and is a fab base for sauces and soups). No sweetcorn though.

patterkiller no, not everyone gets carb flu. Ditch the peas though! Beetroot is a no. If you stick to veg under 3g/100g you can't go far wrong.
What was in the pie filling? Most pies have some sort of flour in the gravy (unless you made it yourself)

Hi mook nice to see you! Glad to hear it's going well

beyond I just booked in for a new tat too. Getting a wee tribute to my daddy with my sister. Love a new tattoo. Pictures please!

Hi pata glad to see you Grin hope exam went well?

margaritasbythesea my understanding is that milk has lactose which is a sugar.

Dairy is something that stalls a lot of people, even when within carb allowances. There is a theory that milk sugar effects insulin disproportionately to the actual sugar available. Some people (seemingly quite a lot) just cant tolerate it. So we limit in BC.

A splash in a cup of tea needs to be measured (I was having 50mls-70mls and don't consider my tea 'milky') times that by 4 cups a day and I was having a lot of milk sugar.
Cream has less lactose and typically you would use less (I can get away with 10ml in a cuppa)

Greek yoghurt has had most of the whey taken out (which is where the milk sugar is) plus has had a live culture eating the sugar so the theory goes that whilst there might have been 4.6g carbs per 100g in the milk that went to make the yoghurt by the time the whey is strained and the bacteria has eaten there is a fraction of that left.

You can get lower cream 1.6g/100ml or use almond milk unsweetened is really low 0.1g/100ml or if you really struggle you can get lacto free milk at around 3g/100ml.

magicalrealistmum why quorn? Are you vegetarian?

That crackling and your dinner looks lush wanheda. Got a say I love me a morrisons shop. Mmmmmmmmmmmmm and super cheap. I got pork skin and chicken livers reduced to 9p per pack today. I see paté scooped up in crackling strips in my future!

fourarmsv2 I buy them bone in and snip the bone out with scissors. Then I use them to make bone broth. I'm cheap Grin and love a 'freebie'

I think if you asked at the butcher counter in morrisons they'd de bone them for you?

Flowers for raised.

Hi monkey congrats on your fab loss. I have to keep my protein fairly low to keep loosing with low carb (after initial loss). I test and my blood sugar spikes if I have more than 70g a day.
As Biwi /stunt said try fat up / protein down and if you MFP have a look at the macros. I am on 5/15/80 (carb/protein/fat).

Patterkiller · 19/05/2016 07:05

Gcalgske pie filling was home made no flour or gravy.

Shame about my beetroot. I thought it was quite a healthy craving but I shall resist.

Yesterday
B bacon fried egg
L spinach leaves fried in butter and fried haloumi
D broccoli soup two black farmer sausages.

yongnian · 19/05/2016 07:08

Thanks to whoever added my weight to the sheet.
Feeling better now but still no appetite yesterday. Still what I did eat was low carb and plenty of water. Taste like I'm in ketosis and have lost 2lb so bonus!
Suspect I will get my appetite back today so will need to beware...

Patterkiller · 19/05/2016 07:10

Other than bacon I'm not a fan of fatty meat. I really just like chicken breast.
I am however a fish fan.

I'm off to Costco today to stock up. I usually would buy sea bass and king prawns but wondering if I should swap for higher fat fish. So salmon but what else?

margaritasbythesea · 19/05/2016 07:14

Good morning everyone. Well after yesterday's milk discussion -and thankyou for that Gcal very interesting - I am cutting right back to one cup of tea with milk a day. I weighed myself this morning and I'm exactly the same. I know it's only three days but may as well do 100% if I can. Hopefully learning lots from the thread and tweaking as I go will work.

Very interesting about all these rubs and powders having so much sugar, isn't it? I would never have thought to look.

Well done to the poster who got around the sandwich buffet. Sorry can't find your name without losing what I've written to fond your name! Nothing more depressing than a limp sandwich for lunch even when not lcing! It's my bugbear. The organization I work for holds lots of catered events and they always have sandwiches despite all other suggestions because they are easy. Maybe, but not tasty or satisfying!

momofgirls · 19/05/2016 07:28

Please add 162 to the spreadsheet.
Completed last boot camp.
Slight weight variation since end but now back to the bootcamp.

BIWI · 19/05/2016 07:36

Patter - how about mackerel? A really good, oily fish.

Keep an eye on your fat content if you're not really a meat eater. It's really important to make sure it's high fat, medium protein and low carb that you're eating.

And re the beetroot - have you read the rules? Have you looked at the list of veg on the spreadsheet? Make sure that you do!

glenthebattleostrich · 19/05/2016 07:38

Morning.

Plan for today:

B Coyo and tea with cream and coconut oil.
L salmon Salad
T burgers with salad
Snacks tea with cream, cucumber with salt and cheese.

Weighed this morning and am 1.5lb up. But I'm fairly certain that is because I haven't been toilet for 3 days (sorry tmi ). Hopefully the coconut oil will help things move. Also upping salt as woke with leg cramp again last night.

Have a great day everyone

DoingItForMyselfAtLast · 19/05/2016 07:38

I made some cloud bread last night and ate it for breakfast this morning with a little cream cheese spread on it. Was really quite tasty, and I was pleasantly surprised by how 'bready' it was. Thanks for posting the recipe BIWI

KP86 · 19/05/2016 07:40

Today's plan:

B: Eggs, ham slices, mushrooms and spinach
MT: probably black coffee at play group
L: Covent Garden mushroom soup
D: same as last night - Mexican mince in lettuce wraps with cucumber and cheese
Snacks, if needed: pork scratchings, cucumber and cream cheese portion

To drink: jasmine tea and water

Up and at 'em!

Patterkiller · 19/05/2016 07:48

Thanks BIWI I haven't ate mackerel for years but will put it on the list.
And yes I have read the rules I was just pushing boundaries, my inner rebal was trying to get out the box with a root vegetable. Grin

SayrraT · 19/05/2016 07:53

Food plan for today.

B: three fried eggs, coffee with cream
L: prawns and crayfish tails with lettuce wraps
D: courgetti bolognase (Blush I've forgotten how to spell bolognase!)
S: FF yog, cheese, pork scratchings

I'm so annoyed that the laptop died and I can't do a superpost Sad well done to gcal for supporting though!

BursarsFrogs · 19/05/2016 08:03

Good morning everyone!

I'm feeling really good this morning. Slept well, my headache is gone for now, and feeling pretty energetic.

I don't really have a food plan for today. I've just had a breakfast of an avocado and two eggs, but we're eating out for lunch and dinner, so I'll be going for meat/fish and whatever sides look the best for LC. Luckily I like mineral water, so can keep drinking that instead of wine.

BIWI · 19/05/2016 08:04

It comes to something when eating beetroot is an act of rebellion! Grin

OP posts:
Gcalgske · 19/05/2016 08:04

Roast radishes (for your inner rebel) patter or swede mash?

Minimim · 19/05/2016 08:17

Feeling ridiculously energised and alert today, hoping that's a permanent thing linked to this WOE!

Food for today will be:

B - egg, bacon, mushroom and coffee with soy milk
L - Chicken Caesar salad (no croutons)
D - Turkey in creamy mushroom sauce with kale and cauliflower
S (if needed) - hard boiled egg with spinach
Lots of water (some with fresh lemon or lime juice added in an attempt to replace my sugar free lemonade addiction...)

Today will be my first day without sweeteners of any kind (after failing to read the rules properly) so fingers crossed I manage it!

HumphreyCobblers · 19/05/2016 08:24

Am really knackered as the toddler woke up at five for the seventh day in a row this morning, I cope well with no sleep normally but the little bugger darling woke me up at 12 and at 3 as well, so not a good night!

Still, I am nicely in the zone. I definitely have not been eating enough fat and too much protein, thank goodness I joined bootcamp and have been reminded of the rules Grin The food is so nice. About to have boiled eggs with lots of butter melted in the top.

reader77 · 19/05/2016 08:27

I've lost four pounds already? How is this possible?! Very pleased and motivated thoughGrin

Cheesy scrambled eggs for breakfast.

I am feeling good today. I haven't been hungry at all but the Dc had some jelly sweets yesterday. I was desperate for one. I felt like a junkie. It was a bit of a scarily immense craving.

I ate a pepperami instead 😇

I haven't weighed in but I can practically see my belly deflating as the days go on. It's so motivating Smile

Veryflummoxed · 19/05/2016 08:42

Ive shopped for radishes so I can dip in butter and salt (idea from earlier in thread) now I learn I can roast them too. This is so exciting.

Flisspaps · 19/05/2016 08:46

I sneaked onto the scales this morning - 4lb off but I'm going to the ILs from tomorrow until Sunday so I need to make sure I've got lots of LC HF snacks packed as they tend to use low fat or very carby ingredients and are very very mindful of cholesterol. If I don't, that 4lb will be back on for the official Monday weigh in.

I wouldn't even begin to try and convert them to LCHF, I'd get laughed at - maybe when I've shifted a stone or so!
