Welcome everyone!

We have around 130 people signed up this time, so it's going to be a busy and fast-moving thread.

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness for you to enter your weight.

The lovely Sayrra manages the spreadsheet. Please don't mess with it! Just enter your weight and leave all the other columns/rows alone!

I'll start a questions thread to run along side this chat thread, so that you can post stuff there in the knowledge that your question will definitely be seen. (I can't promise to get to your questions immediately, but I will read and answer them)

And please, please, please - no matter how fast-moving the thread is, please read the whole thing and don't just post your own thing. You'll miss a lot of valuable stuff that way, and it also presumes that I (and other posters) are happy to keep repeating stuff.

But above all, very good luck everyone!

Day two went well.

B - FF Greek yoghurt with flaxseeds and some strawberries that needed using up. Two cups of tea with a splash of milk in each.
L - was out and had a chicken and pancetta salad - had ceasar dressing instead of the sweet dressing it was supposed to come with as I figured the ceasar one would be better and I added olive oil
S egg mayo with extra salt
D a concoction of chicken, chorizo, kale, shallot, pepper, asparagus with a little chicken stock and sour cream
S - piece of Brie and some olives
Herbal tea

Friend gave me a wine glass that holds a pint for my birthday! I'm known for my love of wine. A glass that holds a pint of wine also holds a pint of water so I've had three pints this evening!

Feeling less bloated already.

Florene · 18/05/2016 07:01

Day 2 breakfast - 3 eggs scrambled with double cream, mushrooms and spinach fried in butter and some of a soft garlic cheese, like Boursin (but Lidl).

Florene · 18/05/2016 07:01

Hmmm. Day 3 obvs....

BursarsFrogs · 18/05/2016 07:03

Thanks for answering BIWI, I read the tips on carb flu, and will try them. I usually go through a lot of artificial sweeteners and thought BC is a good time to stop that, so I'll stay clear off gum for now. I found that sipping peppermint tea last night helped with the taste - at least while sipping it. :)

I take potassium and magnesium supplements because the bulimia hasn't been great of late (five days episode free), and use salt fairly liberally. I'll pick some good mineral water to sip later on.

Feeling a bit icky this morning, had to make an effort to eat my breakfast, but nothing too bad.

B: feta omelette and coffee with cream
L: mozzarella salad
S: there's cheese, olives and gherkins on stand by
D: pork chops and buttery veggies that we didn't have last night.

SociallyAcceptableCookie · 18/05/2016 07:04

I dropped out 2 years ago and now weigh at least 5 kg more than I did. I can not afford to fail at this again. I know I fell of the wagon yesterday which is a bad sign but I've now redoubled my efforts.

HammerToFall · 18/05/2016 07:06

I haven't been feeling too good over the past couple of days and have been on tramadol which totally reduces my appetite so have just been nibbling on ham and cheese. Feeling a lot better today and shouldn't need to take them so good plan for today

B - two scrambled egg in butter
L - halloumi salad with dressing
T - not sure, I have a steak so either with salad or veg.

I have lost nearly two since string last bootcamp so hoping to do the same again. I am on holiday for a week in half term but it's Greece so I'm hoping there will be plenty of fresh meat and salads.

boldlygoingsomewhere · 18/05/2016 07:16

Could someone add me to the spreadsheet please. I'm 140lbs. Thank you. Smile

margaritasbythesea · 18/05/2016 07:18

Florene I've been looking for that cheese in lidl for ages. I thought they had stopped doing it. I live in hope again!

I have noticed people apologize for drinking tea, with milk. Is this because it should be creamy coffee or because they should be avoiding dairy. Or have I missed something? I guzzle tea.

SociallyAcceptableCookie · 18/05/2016 07:21

Margaritas it's the carbohydrate in milk, not the tea. We can have limited amounts of cream or we can put fats like butter or coconut oil in our hot drinks.

Buddahbelly · 18/05/2016 07:37

Hi all,

Can anyone recommend some none egg breakfast recipes. I don't mind frittata but the thought of eating a boiled egg makes me feel queasy. Never have loved eggs but most of the recipes mention eggs.

The last 2 days I've had a protein shake and yesterday I had ff yoghurt with vanilla essence, was lovely but I can see me being sick of them by the weekend.

I work from home too so the snacking through the day is driving me crazy as I usually reach for ds's milkybar or the green & blacks.

KP86 · 18/05/2016 07:41

BuddaBelly, what about ham, cheese and baby spinach roll ups? If you used a soft cheese like mozzarella or Gouda it would roll well.

I saw someone yesterday had bacon, tomato and mayo in a lettuce cup leaf which looked good as well.

WanHeda · 18/05/2016 07:41

Milk is quite carby, that's why most avoid it.

I am going to a catered Uni function today, I dread to think what the options are going to be.

flipdoodle · 18/05/2016 07:43

Eurgh. I went to bed last night not at all hungry but woke up this morning feeling really weak and wobbly. Not had very good sleep the last few days so it might be partly due to that. Could barely face standing at the hob to cook bacon/omelette etc. I was really wanted something quick and easy like toast (though wasn't particularly craving it). Need to pick up some quick breakfast things, any suggestions? Thinking antipasti meat and cheese platter type thing...

WanHeda · 18/05/2016 07:43

That was me who made the BLTs, just a large lettuce leaf, very thin slice of tomato, big dollop of mayo and a slice of cripsy bacon. I had three and it kept me going for hours!

WanHeda · 18/05/2016 07:44

flip, cheese & ham platter makes a good breakfast. I've also seen it as a breakfast option at quite a few hotels I have stayed at recently!

Titsalinabumsquash · 18/05/2016 07:56

This taste in my mouth is grim! Hopefully worth it though.

I had a Debbie's and Andrews sausage for breakfast with an egg fried in butter, it was lovely.

I'm planning on doing some courgetti with strips of meat, are most stir fry bags of veg ok? What about sauce, can anyone give me an easy sauce for my sir fry please?

KP86 · 18/05/2016 07:58

Good morning!

After drinking all this water I feel like a pregnant lady eight months along, I'm going to the loo heaps!

Plans for today:
B: Two fried eggs with mushrooms, spinach and half a Lidl protein roll with butter; black coffee
L: Covent Garden mushroom soup with a swirl of double cream
D: Mexican beef mince with salad, cheese and sour cream. I make mine using 'Linda's LC taco seasoning' which you'll find online if you google. I make up a big batch of seasoning and then use a tablespoon/500g mince.
Snacks, if needed: pork scratchings; cucumber sticks with Philly cream cheese

My water is a combo of black Earl Grey tea (you'll probably all cringe but I make up a large thermos of it in the morning using one tea bag which is the perfect strength for me) and regular water. I drink from a straw if given the opportunity which for some odd reason makes me drink more. Whatever works, I say!

Wishing everyone a fab day 3. Today and tomorrow are generally really hard for newbies as you need to start thinking about new LC ideas. The thought of eggs every day gets tired quickly!

There's a great website, ruled.me, as well as DitchTheCarbs.com which have heaps of recipes. Some might not be suitable for BC, but there should be lots that are ok.

Titsalinabumsquash · 18/05/2016 07:59

I can also say, having chickens in the garden is helping his process immensely.

WanHeda · 18/05/2016 08:03

Tits, the taste doesn't last forever, but it is a good sign I believe :) I had it for just over a week along with a horrible coating over my front teeth! Shock all back to normal now, I have been doing this almost 3 weeks.

Stir fry sauce - soy sauce, garlic, ginger, sesame oil makes a good one. I also add a teaspoon of chinese 5-spice.

WanHeda · 18/05/2016 08:05

I wish I could get my hands on fresh eggs! I envy those with their own hens.

Flisspaps · 18/05/2016 08:07

Morning all!

Got a bit headachey yesterday afternoon, was working from home which led to me drinking less - my desk in the office is right next to the kitchen and every time I'm offered a tea by colleagues I'll ask for a hot water instead.

B: fried egg, mushrooms, 4 cherry tomatoes, bacon, mayonnaise

L: salad, tuna in mayonnaise and olive oil

T: salmon fillet with veg, FF yoghurt.

StrawberryLeaf · 18/05/2016 08:07

I'm just such a wuss, I feel absolutely dreadful this morning, have no energy, feel very dizzy, literally thought I was gonna keel over in the shower. Not sure if it's hunger (last ate at 5.30 last night) or low carb.

I've failed this morning and added 2 teaspoons of oats and 5 blueberries to my Greek yoghurt in an attempt to feel better.

Desperate to get over this initial bit and feel good but info song it hard. I've probably set myself back in getting over this carb fly by eating the oats this morning.

SayrraT · 18/05/2016 08:09

KP what is the Lidl protein roll you mentioned?

SayrraT · 18/05/2016 08:13

Just looked them up and I'm sorry but they are not suitable for BC. They contain nearly 19g carb each. We are aiming to get our carbs from vegetables not grains. If you want a bread substitute then try making cloud bread (I'm sure you'll find a recipe if you google).

SayrraT · 18/05/2016 08:15

Not 19g! 10g sorry fat fingers!! Still to high for bc though.
