Welcome everyone!

We have around 130 people signed up this time, so it's going to be a busy and fast-moving thread.

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness for you to enter your weight.

The lovely Sayrra manages the spreadsheet. Please don't mess with it! Just enter your weight and leave all the other columns/rows alone!

I'll start a questions thread to run along side this chat thread, so that you can post stuff there in the knowledge that your question will definitely be seen. (I can't promise to get to your questions immediately, but I will read and answer them)

And please, please, please - no matter how fast-moving the thread is, please read the whole thing and don't just post your own thing. You'll miss a lot of valuable stuff that way, and it also presumes that I (and other posters) are happy to keep repeating stuff.

But above all, very good luck everyone!

All good here - same breakfast and lunch as yesterday then dinner was slow cooked pork shoulder, homemade coleslaw made with red cabbage, celeriac and fennel in a mustard mayonnaise, with some grated cheese and spinach leaves dressed with olive oil.

Also had a pack of pork scratching when I got in.

Now feel stuffed which is good as it stops me being tempted by Bake Off Creme de la Creme!

BIWI · 17/05/2016 20:51

Patterkiller how are you making your hollandaise? As long as it's just eggs, butter and lemon/white wine vinegar, then it will be fine!

wombat I reckon within two weeks that at least half will have dropped out.

SayrraT · 17/05/2016 20:54

wanheda I just make things up as I go along so I just cooked the mince beef with some spices (it was actually a leftover taco spice mix or something (2 years out of date Grin)). Then I sliced the aubergine and layered them in a dish and made layers of aubergine/mince/cheese then in the oven until ready. Sorry, no idea how long for!

wombat there definitely will not be 169 of us by the end! If lots of people drop out/stop updating the spreadsheet sometimes I delete them to make the spreadsheet easier to manage.

IndianaJone · 17/05/2016 20:55

Thanks Wombat!

Felt really low on energy today and just off today too. I guess this is the carb flu!

B: three eggs
L: Lamb curry
D: salmon with veg

Patterkiller · 17/05/2016 21:00

Thanks BIWI. Yes simple recipe.

Brekekekex · 17/05/2016 21:01

I've lurked on previous bootcamps and lost weight successfully, and I've decided to delurk this time and say hello and thanks to BIWI, Sayrra et al for their patience and hard work! I don't want to go on the spreadsheet as I know for me that will lead to obsessiveness, but I'd like to join in the chat Smile

Today I've eaten:
B - slice of prosciutto, piece of cheddar, olives, ff Greek yoghurt, coffee with cream
L - chunk of Brie, salad leaves with a creamy dressing, celery, cucumber
S - couple of spoons of yoghurt after spin class to tide me over til dinner
D - buttery asparagus, griddled courgette and halloumi

Waaaaay too much cheese today but my local supermarket had a problem with their refrigeration and they had no meat, fish or eggs. Hopefully I'll be able to get something other than cheese tomorrow!

tinybellows · 17/05/2016 21:04

I think I'm doing ok so far. I'm never off the toilet though thanks to all the water.

B- baby bel and bacon strips
L- salmon steak, olives and Edam
D- chicken slices, avocado and ff yog

Planning more veg, more fat, less cheese tomorrow as I won't be rushing around like I was today. I feel less bloated already.

Backingvocals · 17/05/2016 21:10

Hi all

Just adding myself for chat as am not weighing or measuring. I did well last year (lost about a stone) but put it all back on literally in about a month earlier this year. I was actually off wheat, sugar and meat for lent and it just piled on. Also newly menopausal and that seems to be wreaking havoc on me.

Anyway, have been LC for about three weeks now. Today's food:

No breakfast as fire alarm at work at the crucial moment

Lunch, chicken, avocado, mayo (loads), watercress

Dinner lc moussaka made with shallots and with mozzarella and cream cheese instead of white sauce.

Also wanted to share this lovely recipe for spicy aubergine with yogurt

It's low carb and high fat (dressing is crème fraiche plus melted butter so I think that counts Grin) and crucially, is delicious. I didn't use ancho chilli on the basis that I'd never heard of it - just used smoked paprika instead. Also getting rid of the ancho chilli removes about 90pc of the faff from this recipe.

Myothercarisalsoshit · 17/05/2016 21:26

Thank you Wombat and Biwi for adding me!
I have rejoined the gym and had my first session today. It was hard!
B - Ham and cheese
L - Salad of cucumber, leaves, radish with 2 boiled eggs, tuna and mayo
T - Chicken stew
2 lovely creamy coffees - one at breakfast, the other after work
I'm on day 4 of the IPD but .... didn't realise that bootcamp meant no nuts so may have overdone it on days 1 & 2. Ah well ....

Whistle73 · 17/05/2016 21:51

Hi all! I'm determined not to be a dropper- outer and still to be on the spread sheet at the end! Thanks to everyone who organises this thread.

B - two scrambled eggs with butter
L - salmon, ham, salad and chilli Mayo
D - steak with green beans, and mushroom, mustard and cream cheese sauce
Snack - FF yoghurt

Lots of water, I have had a couple of cups of tea with milk though I'm afraid. Personally I have done low carb before and lost weight despite drinking milk in tea (and wine!) but that was a few years ago, I'll be interested to see if it works this time. WinkCake

Whistle73 · 17/05/2016 21:52

Dunno why I put a cake smiley! Subliminal message perhaps! Confused

BIWI · 17/05/2016 21:56
Grin

Let's see who's the first person to wake up having dreamt that they'd eaten cake/a Mars bar!

OP posts:
Equiem89 · 17/05/2016 21:58

Id take cake over the dreams I get about my psycho ex boyfriend! Never dream about him apart from when I low carb!

Xoticdreamz · 17/05/2016 22:00

Not a bad day today although I'm pretty hungry still and think I might be eating a bit much .
Egg and bacon salad with some chicken added
Prawn curry with spinach
King prawns with rocket and spicy sauce
Snack pack of polish sausage from marks

achangeisgonnacome · 17/05/2016 22:01

Ok today- was at an event that had lunch included. However just at the moment that we broke for lunch, the fire alarms went off and we had to evacuate!! Went to the pub instead.

B: avocado, ham and cheese
L: chicken and avocado salad
D: mackerel fillet and salad
S: steak strips

BIWI · 17/05/2016 22:02

Xotic

That sounds fine, as long as there was plenty of fat. If you're still hungry it could be that you need to add more!

Don't worry about quantities at the moment. Just eat till you're satisfied (although that doesn't mean stuff your face!)

JemimaMuddledUp · 17/05/2016 22:02

Just got back from Aquafit class. Got a well done from the fit instructor tonight so that was nice! Post workout snack on the way home - 2 hard boiled eggs and a bottle of water Grin

BIWI · 17/05/2016 22:03

Dinner: lamb curry and spinach curry.

Snack: total yogurt

Day 2 done. Grin

Do you really think that many people will drop out Biwi?

stilllovingmysleep · 17/05/2016 22:35

Day 2 done for me too. I'm very pleased, went well despite having to be quite organised as I was working till late.

B: 2 boiled eggs / spinach rocket and watercress salad with lemon / oil and chunk of cheddar cheese
L: mashed cauliflower with butter / double cream, served with feta
D: green salad with tuna and sautéed mushrooms with olive oil / lemon
Second dinner (later as initial dinner was early, at 5): repeat of lunch (cauliflower and feta)
Snacks: 2 cups tea with splash milk / chunk of cheddar

Probably had too much cheese today and overall are quite a lot. Let's see. Managed to drink a fair amount of water.

Gcalgske · 17/05/2016 22:46

Clopysow the green grocer in Inverurie is great for stuff if you're ever nearby.

Cocoabutton hello, welcome.hope you are feeling better Flowers

wombattoo I reckon we'll lose 50%. Wager? I'll bet a bar of G&B 85% (once on BC lite natch)

Backingvocals that aubergine sound lush... Ancho chilli is just a large-ish mild chilli, fruity/ chocolatey/smokey notes. It's very nice. I've only had dried here though (rehydrate in hot water). They have in Tesco or sainsbos in the speciality foods bit.
A mix of smoked paprika, tiny bit cayenne and a little cocoa would probably be my sub.

SayrraT · 17/05/2016 22:55

reader yes, people will drop out. I once did the stats on rate of dropping out. I can do them again!

wombat (and others) my laptop just died (not surprised, it must be full of dust from the building work) so I'll have to do spreadsheet checks sneakily at work.

readyforno2 · 17/05/2016 23:07
