Thought we could post here when we've done a work-out and not clog up main thread. I'm really hoping that it will speed up the weight loss a bit and tone up my numerous wobbly bits!

I'm starting with L1 D1 of the 30 Day Shred tomorrow - DD doesn't think I can commit to it - I'll bloomin well show her!!

TooExtra well done.
The 15 km, well 15.85 km by the end of the day Grin, was mainly due to walking the dog and is waaay more than I usually manage.
Welcome ami, it's great posting here as it helps to keep us accountable. We'll look forward to hearing about your workouts.
I am having a rest day today, then hopefully back at the gym tomorrow.

NigellasGuest · 08/02/2016 11:41

Shred done so 7/23

Thanks Mook I did enjoy my day off yesterday!

Hi Ami good luck to you. What's the Tracy Anderson dvd like?

lavenderhoney · 08/02/2016 17:17

I've had to stop running a couple of times last week due to travel, but caught up as much as I could. I find the morning excercise the easiest to motivate myself for, but the evening Pilates makes me sigh with boredom:)

My DC go to childrens yoga together which is nice - whilst they do that I go for a run:)

Mookbark · 09/02/2016 09:23

I like the idea of childrens yoga lavender, can't imagine mine doing it though!
Rest day yesterday, apart from walking the dog. Today, I am hoping to go to the gym on the way home from work. Won't have long there, though. Will probably just run.

NigellasGuest · 10/02/2016 11:53

I've not shredded since Monday so STS regarding shred-count.
Life - it does Just Get In The Way Sometimes.....
Main thing is I'm still LC-ing. Encouraged by received wisdom that weightloss is 80% diet and only 20% exercise!

Must where are you?

StuntNun · 10/02/2016 19:50

I did the first day of the Shred yesterday and I'm sore today! Damn you Gillian, all you want is everything I've got!

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 11/02/2016 09:37

4/26 done last night! I was out on Tuesday night so couldn't Shred then. I'm still wussily following Anita - I have tried some hardcore Natalie press-ups and I can now do part of the first circuit, but last summer I had Shredded until I could do all the press-ups properly - that seems very far away right now!

NigellasGuest · 11/02/2016 11:11

shredded today - 8/22

Too I'm 100% Anita all the way!I've never been able to do a proper pressup, even when at my fittest (which probably wasn't all that fit).

mustbemad71 · 11/02/2016 15:17

I'm here but not exercising - aaargh! Just no time - too much work, fretting about poorly DD and other stuff to sort so not got a minute to spare until I flop into bed. No action there either! I WILL get back to old Jillian tomorrow!

Well done girls, you'll all be onto Level 3 before I've finished Level 1 at this rate!

Flowers for your DD must

Did you visit Jillian today? I did but I was kind of "phoning it in" as Jill likes to say! Oh well at least I got my heart rate up a bit.....

9/21 (sort of) Blush

Mookbark · 12/02/2016 13:37

Well done Nigella, almost a third of the way there. And Stunt well done for starting. Have you done day 2 yet?

I did my run on Tuesday and found it hard, but then realised I had run 4k 21 seconds faster than the time before, so pleased.

Haven't ran since, with work and visiting my dad. I may be able to slope off work early and run tonight, but I haven't got my kit bag with me, so that will discourage me. If I don't run tonight, will try tomorrow, work permitting.

lavenderhoney · 13/02/2016 06:53

I had a rest day yesterday. i think keeping going and keeping a routine is important. Sometimes I follow the modifier and I am a bit slow. My weights are arriving today for the next five weeks sessions and also my new scales.

I've ordered a new sports bra too. Keep going everyone:)

StuntNun · 13/02/2016 07:00

Thanks Mook but no chance! I keep saying I'll do it when the kids are in bed but then I'm too knackered.

NigellasGuest · 13/02/2016 19:35

No shred for me today OR tomorrow.
Will get back to it Monday and try to do it more wholeheartedly!
Would not be doing it at all if it was not possible to do it first thing in the morning so Stuntnun I'm with you all the way.

StuntNun · 13/02/2016 20:59

I'm going to do it now under duress from DH

StuntNun · 14/02/2016 08:10

I did it! Day 2/28 done yesterday. What weights are people using? 1kg is enough for me at the moment

lavenderhoney · 14/02/2016 08:53

My weights are 2 kg but when I first started I used the lightest ones which I have as back up incase. I know if I can manage it, I'll see results faster. I can see already my cs overhang is going. This brings me much joy:)

I am going to do lots of stretching today and walk the dog, tidy up and mess about with the DC.

StuntNun · 14/02/2016 09:13

Is it really going Lavender? Mine annoys me so much as it's so loose and 'flobbily' that it restricts the clothes I can wear. I'm worried I'll be stuck with it forever. I've had five pregnancies and three sections so the pooch (as Gillian calls it) is pretty bad.

Mookbark · 14/02/2016 10:08

Well done Stunt and lavender
I ran for 5k yesterday. I had only meant to do 4k, but it was feeling good, so I thought I'll run 4.5k, but then I kept going Grin Have a bit of DOMS in my upper legs now, but so worth it. I also walked the dog yesterday and did a total of 20,000 steps.
I'm going to run again today, so I can get my 3x week in, but suspect I'll struggle to do 4k, never mind more.
I have been LCing again since 04/02/16 and I do think I must be fat adapted now as exercise has been flowing nicely at the moment, which is really pleasing.
KOKO everyone.

StuntNun · 14/02/2016 10:16

I posted before about staying on level 1 of the 30 Day Shred. There is a big difference between level 1 and 2 then not so big a jump to level 3. I suggest either staying on level 1 for the full 30 days or delaying moving up to level 2 and staying on level 2 for as short a time as possible before moving up to level 3 which is way more fun and enjoyable as far as that is possible with exercise! If you're thinking about staying on level 1 for longer, here are some tips for increasing the intensity as you get fitter and stronger.

  1. Once you get used to the order of exercises then you can start doing them straight away rather than waiting for Gillian et al to get going. You can get a lot more ab work in, in particular, by doing this.
  2. Do the cardio exercises with the weights in your hands. Just be careful with the punches as you don't want to throw the weight into anything!
  3. For the stretches, it's a good idea to add in a calf stretch as well.
StuntNun · 14/02/2016 20:09

30DS day 3/27 done today. I'm not as out of breath as the last couple of times and I did all the cardio exercises holding the 1kg weights today. So I'm going to try the 2kg weights for the squat and press and the chest flies next time (but not for the anterior raises because the heavier weight screws up my form on the side lunges). No shredding tomorrow as I have Pilates which will be tough enough for one day.

Mookbark · 14/02/2016 22:05

Well done again Stunt
I ran again today, 4.2k but at a faster pace. Very pleased with how it went.
My legs were a bit wobbly when I took the dog out afterwards though! Grin

lavenderhoney · 15/02/2016 00:47

Stunt nun, yes its going. Slowly! I've had 2 cs and miss my old figure very much. It's hard work though.

NigellasGuest · 16/02/2016 11:25

Well done Stunt!

I got back to Jillian this morning, having had Sat, Sun and Mon off. I'm sticking to Level 1. I really vary the weights - I can only manage 1kg for the anterior raises as any heavier and I can't lift them high enough. For the chest flies and the rowing one (can't remember what it's called but I think it's Circuit 2) I can't feel a thing unless I use 2.5 kg weights! Everything else, I use 1.5kg. I hold the 1kg weights whilst doing the punching cardio - and will work up to holding them for all cardio.
Lavender that pooch will soon be gone!
Mook amazing running!!

10/20

lavenderhoney · 18/02/2016 07:20

im very jealous of your running, Mook, I can only do the DVDs this week as its half term.

I'm also doing Callenetics instead of Pilates now. For me, it's better.
