Morning all!

I see we have almost 90 brave souls signed up this time. Welcome everyone, and to the lurkers at the back.

Here is the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

The list is alphabetised, and all you need to do is to add your weight next to your name. Don't do anything else or touch any of the other cells! If your name isn't on the list for any reason, add it to the bottom of everyone else's names, and the lovely Sayrra will re-alphabetise the list later.

If you don't want to put your actual weight, you can index it - i.e. your starting weight is 100, and every pound you lose is one. So if you started today at 160 lbs, and in the first week lost 7lbs, then next week you'd enter 93.

Also, don't feel that you have to weigh today - you might prefer to make another day of the week your weigh-in day. Up to you - but the spreadsheet is there as a resource to help you track how it's all going.

Re weighing, if you can, weigh first thing in the morning, naked, and before you eat or drink anything else. Don't weigh later on in the day, as all you're doing is weighing yourself plus whatever you've had to eat or drink. And use the same scales. Remember, it's not the actual weight that the scales tell you, more the weight that you've lost that counts.

Some people prefer to weigh every day - I'm one of them, as it helps to keep me focused - and some prefer to weigh once a week. It's up to you which you prefer. Bear in mind, though, that if you weigh every day you are very likely to see the scales fluctuate, which means that they may go up for no apparent reason. This is totally normal, as your weight can fluctuate on a daily basis (especially if your period is due). But psychologically it can be quite difficult - so if you don't think you'd be able to cope with this, then weekly weighing is for you.

I'm going to start a questions thread now as well. In the first few weeks of Bootcamp the chat thread can move very quickly, and it's easy for posts to get missed - so if you have a particular burning question, it's probably best to post it on the dedicated thread. And if we can all keep an eye on the questions thread, rather than just me, we can get everything answered quickly!

Today:

B: two hard boiled eggs, cup of tea (tiny splash of milk), glass of water
L: avocado mashed up with red chilli, bit of mayo, squirt of fresh lime. Then a small bowl of total Greek yog with 6 blueberries (they were going off so couldn't waste them!) and a sprinkling of cinnamon. More water.
D: will be pan-fried fillet of sea bass with a lovely big pile of roasted buttery veg. And more water.

Given that I have been subsisting on quality street and toast since Xmas I think that's a decent start!

yeseinstein how come you've been up for 56 hours?!

Checking on on the new thread

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 18/01/2016 13:56

Oh FFS. I am a twat. I thought coconut flour was low-carb. It's not - it's 58g of carbs to the 100g. THAT IS WHY I'M NOT LOSING! I have been letting DH blithely make coconut flour pancakes. Of course I only discovered this after DH once again made coconut pancakes and I ate them. I just thought that all things coconut were low-carb. D'oh. What a waste of a week! Fucking hell.

Right, Shredding tonight once the kids are in bed. Might burn off some pancake-related calories.

MollyRedskirts · 18/01/2016 14:07

So far I've only had breakfast, but I didn't get up until 11ish.

Breakfast: Half a mug of coffee with a blob of coconut oil in it and a splash of double cream.
Leftover broccoli and goats cheese soup.

MollyRedskirts · 18/01/2016 14:13

FoodPorn - Seitan isn't low carb, is it? It's made from flour.

LexLoofah · 18/01/2016 14:14

lisba ok whew glad you agree, worried you might be offended, DHs like that are annoying!

L - celery filled with butter and pate ( separately, I am not that hardcore), leftover chipolata wrapped in bacon, leftover sausage stuffing ( no breadcrumbs)
D - will be the chicken stew I have just put in the slow cooker using lovely hm chicken stock, fried the veg in reserved chicken fat and added a bit of bacon scraps too. Will do with celeriac mashed with butter, grainy mustard and leeks fried in butter and cabbage in more butter

NigellasGuest · 18/01/2016 14:14

Breakfast: 2 hardboiled eggs

Lunch: Huge Sports Direct mug (do you like the detail)? of homemade vegetable soup - made from shallots, aubergine, courgette, mushroom, leek and butter.
Another dollop of butter added to the mug after serving, just for good measure!

drinks: 2 x coffee with double cream, 2 x herbal teas (3rd one on the go now) and water.

DartmoorDoughnut · 18/01/2016 14:35

Doing well on the water front, 5 pints which is about 2.8ltrs I think. Had another omelette for lunch but added some naughty bacon and a sprinkling of cheese. Have now done a food shop, god knows how I managed to resist the haribo! Cauliflower cheese for supper, can't wait Grin

FoodPorn · 18/01/2016 14:47

molly I think it is - I think it's the protein from flour? I make it myself and the vital wheat gluten has 7g carbs per 100g and in the finished product (mixed with water) I would guess it is between a half and a third of that so less than 3.5g per 100g. Is that low-carb? Google tells me it is but now I'm doubting myself.

Gcalgske · 18/01/2016 15:08

TooExtraImmatureCheddar the coconut flour I use is tiana brand (Holland and barret) and is 21.7g/100g carbs. Now that is relatively high but I only bake maybe once a month and with tiny amounts. For example this recipe www.tiana-coconut.com/recipe/pancakes/
(I use erithritol) uses 2 tbsp in 8 pancakes so it works out low enough for an occasional treat once on BC lite.

MollyRedskirts · 18/01/2016 15:08

All I know is it's made from flour, I don't know anything about what parts - I'd pop onto the questions thread and ask. You might be ok with it since you're veggie. Smile

BIWI · 18/01/2016 16:47

Not really sure seitan is low carb

OP posts:
FoodPorn · 18/01/2016 16:58

Hi BIWI thanks for spotting this. This is what I buy. It is 7.7g per 100g of the gluten but it at least doubles in weight when it is mixed with water and cooked to make seitan. That would be 3.3g per 100g. Is that not low-carb?

NigellasGuest · 18/01/2016 17:16

My coconut flour (Sukrin) has 25g carbs per 100g.
The recipe for a "loaf" using this, calls for 90g of the coconut flour and I've worked out that one slice will have under 2.5g of carbs, because I get more than 10 slices per loaf.
So a slice now and then with a big helping of butter on top must be ok?
Not sure about making pancakes with it though, I've only ever made the "loaf" (I use inverted commas because it's actually more like a cake)!

BeyondBootcampsAgain · 18/01/2016 17:19

Weird dinner here that is very much a success!!

Made a pancake with egg and roulè fried in butter, then whizzed up more roulè with more butter and an avocado, and rolled it up in the pancake

Yum.

prettybird · 18/01/2016 17:23

Can someone add my starting weight to the spreadsheet please (not sure when I'm going to get to a laptop): 13 stone 6lb (188lb)

I'm really pleased with that as it means I've lost half a stone in less than a fortnight (started on Wednesday 6 January) Smile. Got another 5 days of Boot Camp though - had a wee blip with wine on the first Saturday, when we were invited to a friend's house and he was opening a few very good bottle of wine Blush

Made a lovely pork belly and chorizo dish last night. I'll write up the recipe in the recipes thread.

Wombatinabathhat · 18/01/2016 17:40

I've added you pretty

B: Hard boiled eggs
L: Lamb and aubergine curry
D: Pork chops with mushrooms cooked in butter
S: Pork scratchings

bettybiggestballs · 18/01/2016 17:40

Just checking in to say hello to everyone. Day one fairly straightforward at this end, my celeriac soup with cream and butter has been a highlight of the day. Buttery fish and veg tonight. Need to take some time to do some proper planning

Wombatinabathhat · 18/01/2016 17:41

I lost a stone on the pre christmas bc. I've fallen off the wagon a bit since christmas but stayed pretty much the same. I don't expect to lose much this time but I'll be doing my best.
Good luck all

milkmilklemonade12 · 18/01/2016 17:43

Checking in on the new thread Smile

I don't weigh often, once a month at the most because as mentioned previously I get obsessed very easily. However, I weighed myself before Christmas and I weighed myself this afternoon; I'm 10lbs lighter! I definitely gained heaps over Christmas, so that means I've lost that as well. Although I don't know how much that is, it must have been at least 4-5lbs.

I've had a couple of spoons of total ff Greek yoghurt with some chia seeds, then pepperoni and 2 baby bels for lunch. Snack I had some LC veg crudités and half an avocado. Dinner is Italian chicken bake, and I found pesto for 1.9g carbs per 100g at Sainsburys; just their own brand. I've included a photo of the jar and the nutrition facts in case anyone fancies a go. Other brands are available, of course Wink

ijustwanttobeme · 18/01/2016 17:56

Another ipadder here, please can someone put me at 134 lbs?

Almost fell at the first hurdle, as was at Euston station at 6.15am and only upper crust was open; but then saw Leon..

Breakfast: poached egg pot with ham hock and truffle Gruyere -yummy

Lunch: feta cheese salad

We are at a carvery this evening, so should be ok there.

Wombatinabathhat · 18/01/2016 18:04

readyforno2 · 18/01/2016 18:12

Also.. Another iPhone user here. I've downloaded the google sheets app but still can't fathom it. Could someone add 100 to the spreadsheet for me.. Not my actual weight, I'm too disgusted with myself to admit that, just to see how much I lose pounds wise

TrinityForce · 18/01/2016 18:22

l - another chicken leg, cucumber and pate (used cucumber as little cracker type delivery objects) and a salad
d- steak in peppercorn sauce
