Morning all!

I see we have almost 90 brave souls signed up this time. Welcome everyone, and to the lurkers at the back.

Here is the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

The list is alphabetised, and all you need to do is to add your weight next to your name. Don't do anything else or touch any of the other cells! If your name isn't on the list for any reason, add it to the bottom of everyone else's names, and the lovely Sayrra will re-alphabetise the list later.

If you don't want to put your actual weight, you can index it - i.e. your starting weight is 100, and every pound you lose is one. So if you started today at 160 lbs, and in the first week lost 7lbs, then next week you'd enter 93.

Also, don't feel that you have to weigh today - you might prefer to make another day of the week your weigh-in day. Up to you - but the spreadsheet is there as a resource to help you track how it's all going.

Re weighing, if you can, weigh first thing in the morning, naked, and before you eat or drink anything else. Don't weigh later on in the day, as all you're doing is weighing yourself plus whatever you've had to eat or drink. And use the same scales. Remember, it's not the actual weight that the scales tell you, more the weight that you've lost that counts.

Some people prefer to weigh every day - I'm one of them, as it helps to keep me focused - and some prefer to weigh once a week. It's up to you which you prefer. Bear in mind, though, that if you weigh every day you are very likely to see the scales fluctuate, which means that they may go up for no apparent reason. This is totally normal, as your weight can fluctuate on a daily basis (especially if your period is due). But psychologically it can be quite difficult - so if you don't think you'd be able to cope with this, then weekly weighing is for you.

I'm going to start a questions thread now as well. In the first few weeks of Bootcamp the chat thread can move very quickly, and it's easy for posts to get missed - so if you have a particular burning question, it's probably best to post it on the dedicated thread. And if we can all keep an eye on the questions thread, rather than just me, we can get everything answered quickly!

Added you Nate It is difficult to know how much you will lose as there is a whole range. You are likely to have a good first week as you will lose quite a lot of water weight as a carb laden diet makes you retain water. Although for some people, this can take more than a week to kick in. I now have splinters on my bottom from sitting on the fence Grin

I am a stone away from a healthy BMI, so want to make good inroads into that this BC. 10lbs in 10 weeks would be fab.

Today's menu is:
B - coffee with dc x2
L - hm mushroom soup, ff greek yoghurt
D - not sure, probably salmon with veg roasted in coconut oil and hm tartare sauce
S - spicy chai latte with almond milk

Good luck everyone.

lisbapalea · 18/01/2016 09:58

Weighed in at exactly 12st - have updated the sheet. Would love to lose a stone but my more realistic goal is 11st 7lb.

I was a bit crap at being organised so this morning's breakfast was prob more BC light than official BC. Will get better prepped tonight for tomorrow morning - needs to be something I can wolf down in about 5mins with no prep time!

Lunch will be a tuna mayo / egg salad
Dinner will be a low carb scavenge from the fridge; we should have plenty to choose from.

Am two thrids of my way through my first litre of water....

I made a huge lemon cheesecake when friends came over at the weekend and we have shedloads left - do you think I could freeze what's left?! I can't handle it just being there in the fridge for Dh to eat (I also don't think he would be able to eat all of it so I want to avoid wasting it!)

DartmoorDoughnut · 18/01/2016 10:06

Thanks BIWI and StuntNun I'll go with bootcamp full on Grin

patientzero · 18/01/2016 10:10

I think I might have broken the spreadsheet trying to update on my phone. I'm very sorry if I have (some cells seem to now be hidden for be). I'm also too scared to touch it again so if someone who knows what they're doing could put me in as 158 I'd be very grateful.

Mookbark · 18/01/2016 10:15

I don't think you have broken it patient, it just is a bit tricky to do on an iphone. I've added your weight.

Gcalgske · 18/01/2016 10:15

Today's plan:
IF so coffee with cream, supplements and water first thing
Omelet with tomato/ cheese and shallot
Will have soup for dinner, thinking chicken noodle (courgettie) as have hm Chicken stock needing used up.

FlorisApple · 18/01/2016 10:21

I'm a day ahead of you lot here in Oz, and first day of bootcamp has gone very well.

Breakfast: Two egg cheese omelette and bulletproof coffee.
Lunch: Tuna salad, with simple vinegrette of olive oil and apple cider vinegar
Dinner: Aubergine halloumi stacks with salad.
4 litres of water.

I have been craving sugar (I am very very addicted unfortunately,) but everytime I have a craving I either take a swig of water, or I have had a couple of pieces of Brie and a couple of pieces of salami. I know processed meats are a no no, but this salami is 0 carbs and just while I am still snacking, I'm going to have a little bit (I will get some prosciutto soon to have instead of the salami.)

patientzero · 18/01/2016 10:29

Thank you mookbark Smile

NigellasGuest · 18/01/2016 10:38

I've just added myself to the spreadsheet - I'm aiming to lose a stone, which is a big ask so to speak, due to being perimenopausal and also having a nightmare "ring of fat" around the ribcage which is proving impossible to shift! (so far).

If nothing else this WOE is great for me for health reasons and has a fantastic result on my skin....
I'm sure I can lose more weight though - just need to go REALLY low carb and watch my dairy intake I think. Normal low carb has enabled me to lose 3/4 of a stone since December which is fab! But I've plateaued a bit now, so strict bootcamp hopefully will kickstart me again.....

Good luck to everyone, I've done it before and IT WORKS.
Thank you BIWI!

LexLoofah · 18/01/2016 10:41

thanks for doing this again BIWI, hello lifers and newbies!

lisba throw away the cheesecake (go and do it now!) and get your DH on to BC too if you can, so much easier if you are both doing it and less temptation. There are more benefits than just losing weight which is half the reason my DH and I are low carb (most of the time...)

second leftovers for breakfast, I had thick slices of the lamb donner from the recipe thread which we had a few nights ago fried in butter and fried 2 eggs in the same pan

make ahead breakfast I made breakfast muffins last week for the first time in ages, had forgotten how good and handy they are. I did bacon, leek & broccoli as that is what I had to hand at the time, they freeze well and can then either eat defrosted i.e. cold or warm up in the oven ( sorry no idea about microwave as never use one but maybe someone else knows?)

DrDiva · 18/01/2016 10:44

Hello, may I join from the sidelines, so to speak? I don't really mind about losing weight so don't want to be on the spreadsheet, but I want the health benefits. I joined you all last January and lasted a fair number of weeks before my life turned into a slow car crash, resulting in just bad and unhealthy food choices. Hoping to last longer this time. If you'll have me...

mustbemad71 · 18/01/2016 10:56

Sorry girls, another Google doc numpty here! Pls would someone add my weight for me? 159.4 lbs. Much appreciated! Grin

BeyondBootcampsAgain · 18/01/2016 11:01

Ragu bolognese is on the stove for tomorrow and weds, having mine with courgetti and cheese. Smells good :)

Lunch today is left over chicken with i dont know what yet

ami9 · 18/01/2016 11:29

Good morning,
I have updated my weight in the spreadsheet (i think) 167 pounds start weight. If I have not keyed in correct place I apologise and will really appreciate if someone corrects it for me xx

StuntNun · 18/01/2016 11:59

I want to encourage the newbies to make a really good go of this. I lost 20% of my weight in 2012 (73 to 58kg). I'm certain that without Bootcamp, despite all my effort to eat 'healthily' and exercise, my weight would have kept creeping up and up and who knows how big I would be now. THIS WAY OF EATING REALLY WORKS!

BIWI runs three Bootcamps every year because she knows how much it helps people. She doesn't receive any payment for this, it's out done of the goodness of her heart. Sayrra and I and the other old hands help out because we've benefitted from Bootcamp ourselves and we want others to do the same.

It's only ten weeks. A bit more work preparing food, and a bit of willpower to stick to it but with plenty of support on here. Those sweet 'treats' will still be there at the end of Bootcamp when you could be a stone lighter (your mileage may vary!)

Hello. I'm starting tomorrow because I am an utter twit.
But I'm 11 hours ahead of you all anyway, so it should still work out ok. Grin

Tomorrow I'm starting - I have lots of eggs, courgettes, avocados, cauliflower, konjac noodles, meat and fish ready to go. And cheese too, because I don't think dairy really affects me. I also have 1.5L bottles of water so I can tell when I'm drinking 3L, like I need to - just need to keep filling them up every day.

Although I'm not as heavy as I have been, it's ALL round my middle and it's shocking. I haven't developed the Jabba-the-Hutt neckline again, like I had when I was half a stone heavier, but I look at least 6m pregnant (and really am not). But this time I MUST also do exercise, so am getting the Shred DVD out again. Just hope it doesn't wreck me!

FelicityFunknickle · 18/01/2016 12:24

Mmmm. Managed to shovel down some breakfast- Had a cheese omlette with spinach.
Coffee with coconut oil
Giant mug of raspberry tea
Giant glass of water.
Lunch- avocado with a few prawns and mayonnaise, splash of vinegar and pepper.
Still have a stinking cold/ cough so no running Sad

VagueIdeas · 18/01/2016 12:27

I'm here and I'm feeling good!

I low carbed for most of last summer, and then started to only eat a few carby treats at weekends. It worked really well for me - I lost the baby weight (I was the heaviest I'd ever been!) but I fell off the wagon a bit over Christmas and would really like to get back down to my pre-first child weight of 4-5 years ago, which means shifting 7-10lb of stubborn flab which I've been losing and regaining since 2013.

Glad it's not just me struggling with the spreadsheet Blush Can someone put me down as 137lb, please?

lisbapalea · 18/01/2016 12:35

Thanks Lex - you're right I should just bin it!

I keep telling DH he should join me as so much BC food is what he loves and he saw me have great success last year. He's a lucky sod though who manages to eat all the lovely BC stuff PLUS carbs and not gain weight - how does that work?!

I have a friend who is new to LC coming over for lunch on Wednesday and want to make her feel good about stuff so am having a think on what delicious stuff to offer her (and for me to enjoy!) so that I can help keep her (and me) on the wagon!

YesEinsteinsMumDid · 18/01/2016 12:44

I will pop over to the spread sheet later tomo to add my weight. Although the plan is to eat bootcamp food today where does food between the hours of midnight and 6am of the 1st day fit? Do I count it as the same day or is it yesterday? Perfectly happy to stick to plan today but count tomo as first day proper but wasn't sure of how to count this.

As I have been up since yesterday morning and have the chance for a 2hr nap I am going to grab it whilst I have chance. Otherwise it will be one hellish 56ish hr day

Food: 2 eggs scrambled - cooked in oil.

feekerry · 18/01/2016 12:56

Hi. Another I phone user here. Can someone put in 147lbs for me pls. I will try log on to a desk top later if not ta xx

lovelycuppateas · 18/01/2016 13:05

Hi all! Weighed in - a bit more than I expected, but not too worried as the last bootcamp worked well for me. My goal is an average of a pound a week, so fingers crossed. Food today - 2 boiled eggs plus coffee and cream; l - chicken salad with mayo and avocado; d - lamb stew with cauli mash. Am drinking lots of water!

Engelbert · 18/01/2016 13:35

Today -
B - coffee w cream, yoghurt
L - random assortment - mozarella and tomatoes in oil (3g carb/100g) pork scratchings and leftover courgette gratin
D- chicken, brocolli and cauliflower with herby butter on the veg.

Just had a twinings salted caramel tea which was lush.

FoodPorn · 18/01/2016 13:38

Hello!

I've been lurking in the run up to this and have decided to join. I'm FoodPorn, currently on maternity leave, struggling mother to a toddler and a 3 month old (breastfeeding). I'm here because I'm getting married in the summer. If it wasn't for the wedding I would still have my face in a packet of doughnuts Grin. I love food. I may not post as much as I'd like to due to toddler/baby wrangling.

I started a week ago (when we set the wedding date) and I've lost 9 pounds in the first week. I had the same kind of loss the last time I did a low-carb diet. For me, (now I'm through the first couple of days) the first few weeks will probably be easy but I will start to struggle when the weight loss slows.

So far today, breakfast of fried eggs with avocado. I'm grazing on roasted aubergine and seitan (I'm vegetarian).

Good luck all Brew
