Dobroye utro!

(Or good morning Grin)

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

Thankfully I'm nowhere near any scales at the moment. Apart from the food on the plane yesterday, I've managed to resist the lure of the carbs, although it was pretty tough at breakfast this morning, as my body was shrieking at me to have toast! But I resisted, and had two hard boiled eggs and some plain yoghurt. (I'm sure it was low fat, as that's par for the course, but it wasn't sweetened).

Anyway, I hope you all have good results this morning, and here's to another successful low carb week.

Today I have made two cakes and lots of buttercream. I had two tiny tastes of buttercream, which was hideously sweet, and no tastes of cake as I trusted DS to be a judge for me. I can honestly say I had no desire for either though, which is boding well for DSs birthday weekend extravaganza.

B: eggs, butter, avocado
L: a chunk of cheese at about 4pm when I remembered I'd not eaten
D: a small portion of SW recipe chilli defrosted in error. I picked out as many kidney beans as I could and added a bit of cheddar to up the fat as I'm sure it was made with 'healthy' mince back in the day

CalmYoBadSelf · 12/11/2015 23:34

I have had a "different" week as I have had a rotten cough which has left me a bit off my food but that can be a pain as I don't plan properly then pick on stuff

Personal trainer tomorrow so will see the impact then.

LexLoofah · 13/11/2015 13:24

well done wombat I am guilty of being like your friend in the past (although not the skinny part) as tended to enjoy cake etc less if others weren't participating as deep down we all know we shouldn't be having any, good on you for resisting, hopefully she has got the message now

chester happy bday for your DS

B - 2 scr eggs in butter, cream & cheese, cuppa
L - lc crackerbread, salt beef, havarti, dill pickle, leaves with hm mayo
D - will be meatzza, avocado, leaves with dressing/mayo

I stewed some rhubarb earlier, just in a bit of water, and just tried some with a splash of cream, it was lovely - I was worried it would be too tart thinking about the orange juice & sugar I used to add but it was fine. Have plans to use some for crabby's crumble this weekend - it is crumble weather, have a good one all

BIWI · 13/11/2015 15:26

I love rhubarb, but I do have to sweeten it a bit - I use a bit of stevia for that. It's lovely served warm with cold Greek (ff) yoghurt and with a bit of vanilla.

I seem to be struggling so much this BC. It's partly down to slapdash planning but mostly down to being too tired to cook and having zero willpower.

Just home from a week away in the Netherlands which was lovely but nowhere near LC and I think I've gained half a stone, I'm too scared to step on the scales Blush
Food shop this evening and a plan for the week, I'm going to try and batch cook a bit and do some meal prep to keep me on course going into next week.

Wombatinabathhat · 13/11/2015 17:39

I struggled with the last 2 bootcamps Patapouf I just kept eating the wrong stuff and never beat my cravings. For some reason I have found it relatively easy this time. It's always difficult if you have been away but it's not too late to get back on board. Good luck Thanks

Huntthepigsear · 13/11/2015 20:54

My bastard DH has eaten all my 85% dark chocolate! Just as well I love him. Haven't had any in soooo long. Think I might have to nip out and buy some later.

Wombatinabathhat · 13/11/2015 21:17

My DH did the exact same thing last week. he said he thought it needed using up Shock and I obviously wasn't eating it.
It was my safety blanket in case I had some sort of massive craving. I have replaced it and warned him he'll be punished if he touches it Grin

ShebaQueen · 13/11/2015 22:25

Haha Wombat that made me giggle, "thought it needed using up"!

I've never been a fan of dark chocolate although I used to guzzle loads of other types. I've managed to wean myself off sweet safety blankets and find alternative treats such as pate on celery sticks, gorgeous cheese etc. to keep me going when I hit a rocky patch, but to be honest, provided I eat regularly with plenty of fat and loads of water, I cope pretty well. As lots of others have said, it pays to be organised and prepared for this woe to work well.

Glad to hear you are doing so well on this BC.

ChesterDrawers · 14/11/2015 05:24

Thanks for DS' birthday wishes Lex First of three parties today, that boy has one hell of a social life!

As I was up to my eyes in fondant icing for most of yesterday, food was odd and water WA not enough.

B: chunk of cheese
About 6pm: another chunk of cheese
9pm omelette with Parma ham, shallot, mushroom, cream, butter and yet more cheese

Also I had a few glasses of my usual dry white wine. It tasted SO sweet. I battled on, of course, but think I'll have to give it a miss in future and stick to red Sad

LexLoofah · 14/11/2015 14:56

chester it is sad when they have a better social life than you isn't it? Hope you had a good day though

B - leftover meatzza (cold) and avocado mashed with hm mayo - loverly
L - had planned to skip but ended up having a fatty hot choc as wanted something warm, it is freezing here today - I added cream, coconut cream, coconut oil, butter, cocoa powder , salt and vanilla - warmed it in a pan then blitzed it, was lovely and silky like proper hot choc should be but rarely is.
D will be fish pie with cauli mash topping and green beans sauteed in butter

Gcalgske · 14/11/2015 22:15

Welcome back biwi, did I miss what's wrong with ibruprofen? I'm on naproxen long term so would that be an issue too (given that they are both NSAIDs)?

Hope you get back on track pata it's difficult when you are away.
My lg has tonsillitis so I've been quiet (sorry) and hardly eating. She's been a Velcro child, vomiting everywhere but constantly hungry (nibbling to combat nausea) and wanting my food (but if she has any fatty stuff it comes straight back up) so I've either had to hide in the utility room and shove something in my mouth or just drink coffee with cream. Not much veg being consumed because I've not had a chance to prep. Probably won't have done me any harm long term, a few days unintentionally vlc/ if. Anyway today was a bit better as hubs was around for dinner time so I got to cook:

B: Tea with almond milk/cream
L: pork belly slices (eaten furtively in the utility room)
D: chicken thighs in olive oil, broccoli in cheese sauce.

BIWI · 15/11/2015 08:57

I don't know the reason why, Gcalgske - it's one of a list of things that was posted on the low-carbdiet forum given as a reason why you might not be losing weight. But given that it mentioned ibuprofen specifically other than just NSAIDs, you might be Ok with naproxen.

Sorry to hear about your little one!

Wombatinabathhat · 15/11/2015 13:31

I've prepped for the week ahead.
Eggs are boiled, mayo made, big pan of chicken, aubergine and courgette curry made for my lunches.

I ate at Nandos yesterday. I had the chicken thighs with salad and a bit of coleslaw (which had a sweet taste)
I also had some alcohol last night, which I intend to do once a week.

I'm not sure how I'll do at weigh in in the morning, but I've pretty much stayed on plan.

Good luck everyone Thanks

Gcalgske · 15/11/2015 14:10

Thanks biwi I'll investigate further and report back if I can find out.

Gcalgske · 15/11/2015 15:19

Wombat sounds like you are all prepared, fancy coming to do my prep. I feel awful now. Think I've got toot's tonsillitis. Managed some tea and coffee (almond milk and cream) but not al lot else. Luckily I had a pulled pork in the slow cooker overnight so we won't starve. I use a tiny bit of sweetener in the bbq sauce so it's a bit dodgy for bc but it's lovely and I only have a tiny bit of sauce. Will try to have some later.

Wombatinabathhat · 15/11/2015 16:43

Hope you feel better soon Gcalgske Thanks

BIWI · 15/11/2015 16:46

Oh no! Sorry to hear that Gcalgske - more Flowers and some medicinal Wine!

OP posts:
LexLoofah · 15/11/2015 20:15

gcal how rotten, hope you are not coming down with it and better tmrw

b - mackerel, scr eggs, 2 cups of tea (sunday treat)
l - hm mackerel pate on lc crackerbread, avocado, hm mayo
d - bbq'd chicken thighs (skin of these and 6 others as no-one else wanted theirs: fools), leaves, cucumber, hm mayo, avocado

had a sq of 90% dark choc earlier, thought it would be 5% too far but was actually quite nice

Patapouf · 15/11/2015 21:16

Thank you Flowers
I definitely felt motivated today, my weight really has crept up.

B: black coffee and a coyo pot
L: spinach Omelette and some ham, Philly and cucumber wraps.
D: skin on roast chicken breast with lettuce, mayo and a bit of mature cheddar.
I've had 3ltrs of water so far.
Fully stocked fridge and nothing sweet in the cupboard so staying in is easy enough it's just when I'm out and have food shops tempting me that I lose my resolve.

ChesterDrawers · 15/11/2015 21:24

Survived DS' birthday weekend intact, barring a few medicinal wines, necessary when surrounded by noisy small people and my family. Really pleased as this was a big potential banan skin for me.

Feeling pretty shit now though as not enough food yet again, so retreated to bed with a peppermint tea. Not enough sleep either so hoping to rectify that shortly.

Hope everyone else has had a good weekend, seems quiet again this week on the thread.

Billionnairewannabe · 15/11/2015 22:39

Not been eating too much but feel that I'm plateau-ing - both weight wise and motivation. Confused
B - egg muffin with bacon & tomato/cucumber
L - fridge raiders & a few nuts, yog
D - gammon, caulicheese mashed cheese

Gcalgske · 15/11/2015 23:21

Managed some dinner. :) Twas lush. Pulled pork, BBQ sauce (hm all BC legal exept a 1/4tsp erithritol per serving), creamy hm coleslaw.

Love that lex, unfortunately my daughter has now discovered the wonder of crispy chicken skin so I get less Envy

I seem to have perked up. Really recommend apple cider vinegar in water to flush out a sore throat. That's cleared up! Nausea is coming and going but I think eating helped. Just the one meal today (dinner) and a small bar 85% choc, lots of tea (almond milk and cream), water and coffee with cream.

Seeing results on the scales at last. I'm back weight wise to where I was before dad passed (been back in my smaller clothes for a while but scales have taken a while to catch up) think I'm going to give IF a go. I've been doing it unintentionally and I think that and the increased water consumption are what's prompted the scales to get moving back downwards.

Gcalgske · 15/11/2015 23:26

Thanks wombat & biwi - shall endure, as mums must. Hubby went to bed early as he's got man flu what we have too. Wee lamb.

Gcalgske · 15/11/2015 23:34

Regenerationfez I meant to ask about your oopsies but just catching up on the thread. I never cared for them really, too eggy I think, but not had them in ages. I did make a psyllium naan bread once that was good I'll need to dig out the recipe. My favourite way to serve oopsies was with ghee and toasted nigella seeds or fried in butter and cinnamon and dusted with a little stevia.
