Good morning!

Here is the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness for your delectation and delight

Glad to hear that we're getting less squishy in our clothes! I think that's a far more satisfying achievement than a number on the scales, actually.

One thing to remember as the weather seems to be warming up a little bit - finally! - don't forget to keep your water uptake up. (And remember to keep your salt levels up too)

If you are stepping on the scales this morning, I hope you're pleased with what they tell you.

Yesterday:

B: garlic butter fried chestnut mushrooms & 2 fried eggs & BPT
L: avocado & smoked salmon salad & cucumber with pate slices
D: tuna mayo with cucumber, chicken fajitas with lettuce instead of tortillas (surprisingly good!) & bowl of whipped cream & handful of chopped strawberries

Today:

B: FF Greek yog & berries & dollop of cream, BPT
L: houmous (I know it's too carby but I got too hungry & desperate & it could have been far worse) & carrot sticks (1 carrot), fried halloumi slices (so yum!) & few strawberries, last bit of smoked salmon
D: ham rolled with garlic roule, cucumber with chicken liver parfait spread on slices (ate a whole cucumber! I have a new found love of this veg since making the effort to remove the bitter tasting skin!), olives & waiting for my first attempt at courgette crisps to cook (hadn't realised they would take so long!)

Can't wait to try fathead pizza and garlic "dough" balls next - I think they are essentially the same ingredients - almond flour & mozzarella being the main ones.

I have found it harder to satisfy my hunger the last couple of days - it's possibly TOTM related I think - in the pre-low carb days that would usually send me into carb related binge so athough I feel I'm eating more at least im eating (just about!) the right things...does anyone else get v.hungry in lead up to TOTM?

Fathead pizza looks great, hopefully it will turn out better than the cauli base pizza I made last month, which looked shite and tasted rank. I've been craving dominos for a few days now so that might hit the spot.

Flowers for everyone who is feeling unwell!

I now weigh less than I did before I went on holiday which leads me to suspect the reason the scales were reading high was because of bloating rather than actual fat gain which is pleasing.

B:COYO
L: IKEA egg/prawn open sandwich (left the bread) it was absolutely smothered in Mayo.
D: fried egg, garlicky buttered spinach & cucumber, ham and cream cheese rolls.

Hmm courgette crisps were a vastly time-consuming let down...has anyone had better success with these??

Send it this way ewan I spent the best part of the day up Bennachie with a toddler, in the drizzle, being lunch for swarms of midges.

The little feckers seem to prefer me to everyone else, must be all that delicious fat in my bloodstream Angry

Love a bit of pheasant. Nearly mowed one down in a fit of hunger accidentally hit one on the way home from the hills....
Slow cooked pheasant leg, slathered in butter over swede mash. drool

Pata cauli pizza base is way too much hassle isn't it! I didn't mind the taste but just can't be arsed with making it!

Hang on they are fiddly and not worth the effort sometimes. Perfect is too close to burnt imho.

Celeriac crisps on the other hand. Heavenly!

Today's food:
B. BPC, ham bone broth
L. 2x celery sticks filled with chicken liver pate
D. Vietnamese salmon salad. Crispy salmon skin, rare salmon, mixed leaves, finely sliced shallot, red chilli, cucumber ribbons, few chopped salted almonds, dressing made from the unflavoured coconut oil that the salmon was cooked in, lime juice and fish sauce. YUM YUM.

gcal that salad sounds amazing!

Gcalgske · 18/06/2015 22:51

It's positively addictive. Once I have it I want it every night for about a week. Something about the mix of fish sauce / lime/ chilli over salmon is amazing. I adapted it from a recipe I saw on the BBC one day but added fat to the dressing because it was too low fat for BC.

hangon I only squeezed the liquid out half heartedly. Ricing the cauliflower was too much effort in itself. The base smelled gross and was a massive waste of cheese!

Does the fathead one taste at all almondy? Anything containing ground almonds smells like marzipan to me! I'm hoping herbs/cheese will overpower it if it does!!

Report
Gcalgske · 18/06/2015 23:15

Nope, although ground almonds don't really taste of much to me so maybe I'm not that sensitive to the taste. Tastes like pizza base!

Report
billabye · 19/06/2015 08:23

I didn't notice an almond-y taste either and I didn't put an herbs in the base

Brilliant, might have that for dinner tonight, although I might have just about enough energy to spatchcock a chicken!

Sorry out of the loop for a few days - Monday early school run and drop dh back to airport. Once back sat myself down and reviewed situation still not much movement on scale front . Got out stuff from a couple of years ago when I'd lost a lot of weight having seen a biochemist. Looked at info and saw that it is essentially bclite. I think I've been eating too much protein - so I'm using that info to educate my portions. Feel I am making progress but will wait til Monday to see. 6x500ml of water is now so easy.... Hope everyone who has been under the weather are feeling a whole lot betterFlowers

I think I need to scroll back and investigate this fathead pizza - sounds great!

I have just raided the M&S for my lunch and for dinner tonight and hope I found some stuff that works as frankly I can't be arsed to cook; this cough has worn me out!

B - yogurt and berries
L - a greek salad (massve error as I picked out the onion and tomato which means I just paid £££s for a tiny bit of cucumber and feta) and a pack of peri peri chicken
D - will be roasted duck a l'orange (I will give the lion's share of the sauce to dh), which we'll have with cauli cheese and buttered cabbage.
S - have got some almonds which I might tuck into this afternoon

We have a family BBQ this weekend which I think will be a BC challenge. We've been tasked with doing the ribs though, so I think I will just scoff loads of those and leave all the other options if I can do so without looking like an ungrateful sod!

I usually lurk here too much time on relationships board , but just wanted t say "hi" to everyone...And thank you for the recipe suggestions and menu options. I have done the Berry Crumble and do love it. My son (22) also liked it well enough to prevent me over indulging; dh could not tolerate the lack of sweetness (even when I warned him to not expect it). Fried courgetti presents more of a portion control challenge. Wink The meatizzas are great! Even though dh referred to it as "mystery meat", he did manage to take all the leftovers for lunch the next day!

I have lost a few pounds, but have sts, and up .5 more recently. I think I am just eating too much, so will track calories the next few days/week. Water is no problem.

I also think I may have too much protein and not enough fat. Hissy , Flowers I am glad you are doing better. I will take the warning from your gout experience and get more serious about maintaining proportions low carb/protein/fat. I bought an immersion blender and have tried a BP chia tea which was a little different, but ok. I will have more of those to up the fat percentage. I had finally achieved a no caffeine status, but will try decaf (is it really 100% caffeine free? Rhetorical question) BPC for some variety if I feel the need.

Thanks again for all the tips and encouragement.

Anyone heading to BBQ's you can make an amazing potato salad sub with cauliflower - just cook it sliced quite finely then mix with finely shredded shallots, lemon juice, mint, mayonnaise etc. Another option is a spicy raita with chilli, cucumber/radish etc in a yoghurt dressing. Make tabbouleh with rices cauliflower - it's delicious! Boot camp friendly coleslaw goes down well or halved peppers stuffed with cherry toms, feta and olive oil can be grilled. Or make up veggie kebabs with courgettes/ aubergines etc. Love me a BBQ!

I have had an awful day, had to go completly off plan after being ill with constipation and then the opposite, I nearly passed out at uni and ended up being given fruit, been in bed asleep all afternoon.

I am really upset, this is the only woe I have ever found that suits me and makes weight loss pleasant and easy but if this carries on I am going to end up damamging something down there.

I am planning to take laxatives for a few days to ensure everything is ok then look at something longer term maybe movical or lactulouse.

Mm mm bbq Grin

We're having lamb shanks for dinner tonight. Doing them in the slow cooker with garlic, Rosemary, shallots and I bought two of those titchy bottles of red wine to chuck in. Oh and bay leaves.

I have often wondered about the carb value of red wine, but apparently it's rather low, which is pleasing. Obviously the alcohol is a fuel in itself, but aside from that, it's nice to know I'm not sabotaging myself by cooking with it.

I'm going to have it with aubergine and courgette. I think I'll get dp toslow roast them with salt and pepper and ghee.

Had interesting quick breakfast this morning. Turkey breast slices, with mayonnaise spread over it and olives which I then rolled. Very good for the dairy free among us who need another quick go to meal/snack.

Lunch was tuna and crab with chopped gherkins and wild rocket in mayonnaise. Think the crab/tuna combo was a mistake, crab overpowered the tuna, not in a good way. Gherkins worked a treat though. I really wanted sweetcorn, but was firm with myself.

I have ordered some trousers off amazon. Very risky business for somebody of my proportions (tall and large of bottom and thigh) BUT they arrived this morning, and fit. They have darts at the front which are slightly stretched, but I'm hoping that by the time the assessment day comes, I'll have shed a few more pounds, and that won't matter. To be honest, I've ordered a blouse from long tall Sally which I plan to wear untucked, so they won't show anyway, but still, I will feel better. They are length perfect, and that's great, as they were only £20.

I've actually ordered my entire outfit including shoes online, so I'm really hoping the individual pieces work together. It's a huge incentive to keep on the straight and narrow.
