Good morning!

Here is the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness for your delectation and delight

Glad to hear that we're getting less squishy in our clothes! I think that's a far more satisfying achievement than a number on the scales, actually.

One thing to remember as the weather seems to be warming up a little bit - finally! - don't forget to keep your water uptake up. (And remember to keep your salt levels up too)

If you are stepping on the scales this morning, I hope you're pleased with what they tell you.

So advice please ... I need to buy a fuck-off-I-am-fabulous dress for an ex's wedding in Sept. Is it realistic to think I can lose a pound a week until then if I stay on this woe?

I dream of swishing around in a sz12 for the first time in 20 years so am trying to build hardcore willpower ...

DramaAlpaca · 15/06/2015 15:22

Well done to all the happy losers Smile

I'm still away on holiday so can't weigh in, but will do so tomorrow when I'm back home. I expect I've done a fair bit of damage this week, tbh.

readyforno2 · 15/06/2015 16:40

Well done to all the losers! I forgot to weigh this morning. Will do tomorrow.

blessedenough · 15/06/2015 17:04

Londonbetti- have you thought of weight training or Pilate's or ideally both, great for altering your shape and making you look fab. I am currently loosing 0.5lbs a week but circuits and body pump is giving me my shape back.

NaturalBlondeYeahRight · 15/06/2015 17:24

Well done to the losers, especially Sayra. You've cracked it. I'm still the same but did go off track this weekend so no surprise. Not sure why I'm sabotaging myself atm.
On a different note, we did 'healthy eating' in school today. Just Arhhhhhhggghhhh.

Hissy · 15/06/2015 17:47

SERIOUSLY need help!

Have been told I have gout- can't eat high protein. Advise low fat.

But I can't go back to carbs - it's like gastric poison!

What can I eat??? Dairy is good, chocolate and cakes too.. But I don't want to go down that path, I need to get this weight off.

Can't do starvation, as it aggravates the Uric.wotsits

ditavonteesed · 15/06/2015 18:07

oh hissy that suck :( no advice sorry.

Hissy · 15/06/2015 18:40

Am thinking as dairy is good for gout, perhaps I go for veggie option?

Hoping the Longstanding Legends of Low Carb can offer some help?

ditavonteesed · 15/06/2015 19:26

I really really want butter, on something, what can I put butter on, and maybe marmite as well.

Hissy · 15/06/2015 19:34

If you buy decent butter, it's nice on its own!

Some people I think spread it on hard boiled eggs.

Hissy · 15/06/2015 19:35

Marmite... On my gout banned list

HemanOrSheRa · 15/06/2015 19:48

Hello Losers! Star

Hissy that's rough. Sorry I don't have any advice Sad.

I forgot to weigh this morning. The morning routine went slightly adrift Confused. I'll do it tomorrow first thing, but I've a feeling I've STS.

B - 2 ham roll ups filled with soft cheese and avocado.

L - chicken salad. Oily dressing.

D - chicken coated in parmesan and fried (Chesters Chicken, is that right SayraT?). Courgetti fried in butter, garlic with some soft cheese stired through.

I miss fruit Sad. So I'm having a few strawberries and cream in a bit before I do something I'd regret with a banana.

2l water. 1 cup of tea. 1 coffee with cream.

lisbapalea · 15/06/2015 20:36

I made a blunder when yogurt shopping! (Not a sentence I ever thought I would write...).

Saw some coconut yogurt on offer in waitrose - was next to th coyo, claimed to be dairy free etc so I foolishly bought it without checking the carb count... It's bloody well 4.5g per 100g or something, compared to coyo which is 0.5g per 100g. Grrr. Anyway, I will get over it, I'm sure....

My food day:
B - stupid coconut yog plus berries and coconut flakes.
L - big salad including lots of leaves, green pepper slices, boiled egg and tuna mayo
D - minced beef and aubergine spicy chilli thing on a load of leftover steamed cabbage with lots of butter
S - some almonds and cheddar when I got home from work and a square of 90% choc.

BIWI · 15/06/2015 20:36

Oh hissy that's tough Sad

Here's an article I found from Medscape (The emphases are by me)

The US prevalence of gout has risen, particularly in those over the age of 65.[45] Dietary and lifestyle changes, including popularity of diets high in meat and seafood, and the rising consumption of beer may be contributing. Recent studies highlight the importance of dietary measures and alcohol restriction in the prevention of hyperuricemia and gout. The treatment of underlying risk factors remains a key cornerstone in the management of gout. Lifestyle modifications, including dietary intervention, weight loss and reduction of alcohol, can significantly lower the serum uric acid and the risk of developing gout. More importantly, diet in the gout patient can be employed for preventive effects on insulin resistance, hyperlipidemia, atherosclerosis, hypertension and alcoholic liver disease. The most effective forms of dietary regimens for both hyperuricemia and gout flares remain to be identified for patients with gout. Recent open study of a low-carbohydrate and high-protein diet featuring preferential monounsaturates in the fat component of the diet and tailored for insulin resistance, however, appeared promising for patients with gout.

Until a large, controlled study confirms these findings, it is prudent to advise patients to consume meat, seafood and alcoholic beverages in moderation, with special attention to food portion size and content of non-complex carbohydrates which are essential for weight loss and improved insulin sensitivity. Although the total protein intake does not appear to be correlated with hyperuricemia and the risk of gout, given the potential for ketosis induced by currently popular 'low-carb' diets, caution should be exercised during the initiation phase of these diets.

Gout patients should consider fulfilling their protein quota with purine-rich vegetables instead of meat and seafood. Low-fat dairy products and wine appear to be protective for the development of gout in several epidemiological studies. Due to potential confounding variables and ascertainment bias, however, it remains premature to recommend their use (preferential to other foods and beverages) in the management and prevention of gout or hyperuricemia, particularly in the patient with stable gout under pharmacologic control. Heavy consumption of alcohol, in the form of either beer or liquor, however, should be discouraged, as it increases serum uric acid and potentially promotes gout flare, particularly in association with heavy meals. With a better understanding of the impact of these lifestyle modifications, physicians can more effectively educate and motivate patients on non-pharmacological measures to better manage gout.

And from what I can find, these are purine-rich vegetables:

Asparagus, Cauliflower, Kidney beans, Lentils, Lima beans, Mushrooms, Navy beans, Oatmeal, Peas, Spinach

It sounds like it might be a good idea to make sure that you're doing Bootcamp Light rather than strict Bootcamp.

However, I'm not a doctor, and so please take this as information only!

I didn't even bother weighing in today as DS4 is seriously impacting on my sleep at the moment which isn't helping me make good food choices put down the 70% chocolate and back away! Still I'm not gaining weight so that's okay and he's got to sleep sometime conveniently forgets that DS3 was 2.5 years old before he slept through the night.

SayraT · 15/06/2015 21:05

Yep heman Chesters Chicken. I've not had that for a while, must add it to the list.

Poor you Hissy I can't help but looks like BIWI has managed to find you some info.

Thanks everyone for all your nice comments. I am so pleased that finally I am on the way down again. I've still got a long way to go.

Dinner tonight was delicious, I had courgette ribbons in garlic soft cheese and mashed cauliflower with bacon.

plumstone · 15/06/2015 21:24

Hi - haven't weighed in been at a training course all day and just home.

Food today has been:

B - chicken and mayonnaise

W- 2 litres so far

Tomorrow will be better!!!

Preminstreltension · 15/06/2015 22:22

Just had a clothes trying on session (new website photos to be taken at work tomorrow) and they didn't look as good as I thought. I think I must have sts but then did fall off the wagon last weekend although back on it since. Am I eating too much? I'm certainly not stinting myself:

B: slice of leftover cauliflower pizza
L: chicken and avo salad with watercress and loads of hellmans (ran out of
Delouis)
D: low carb moussaka and half a Coyo

That looks like a lot written down.

BIWI · 15/06/2015 22:34

Not really, Preminstrel - although obviously it depends on quantities

OP posts:
Gcalgske · 15/06/2015 22:35

Hissy · 15/06/2015 23:54

Utterly confused about what I'm supposed to eat or avoid

Hissy · 15/06/2015 23:57

Thanks for info BIWI, am I supposed to eat moderately purine rich foods instead of the high ones, or do I have to jus eat low purine fools / cardboard :)
