Hello everyone. Smile I'm starting this week's thread as BIWI's away and Sayra's internet connection is a bit unreliable.

Here is the The Spreadsheet of Fabulousness.

Here is the weight tracker.

So firstly, a massive WELL DONE! for surviving the first fortnight. You now have the option of moving to Bootcamp Light, which means that you can introduce low carb fruits (berries, basically - raspberries, strawberries, red and blackcurrants) and nuts to your diet. Be careful though, as this can add a lot of carbs. Nuts, especially, can be very moreish. Some people stay longer on Bootcamp proper, some do Bootcamp Light at weekends and drink wine. I'm sure BIWI will be along when she gets the chance, to give you all some pointers.

Good luck with the weigh in, everyone, and please remember that weight loss is not a linear thing. Don't be discouraged if you haven't seen as much of a loss as you'd like - just KOKO and The Whoosh Fairy will visit you, whisking away a sudden whoosh of weight. Wink

Hello lollipop and welcome.

Morning everyone.

I'm taking my girls for an haircut this morning and it's pouring down here. The bloody weather said it was going to be nice, so I've saved going to the massive park for today. Grrr. Wacky bloody warehouse it is then.

Dd1 ate the belly slices gcal she was all omg, belly slices! You expect me to eat them! Until she saw them. Grin

Still lying in bed, so up and at um......

Have a good day everyone.

blessedenough · 29/05/2015 08:32

Morning all, i did my 30 day shred last night at 9.30pm - after spending all night trying to convincing myself i didnt have to!

Food was good yesterday but i have woken up starving. Just having a BPC now and i have some sausages in the oven.

Will be popping a gammon in the slow cooker whilst i am out today. Need some inspiration as to what to serve it with??? I have eaten a lot of salad this week!

Will be making the cauliflower crust pizza for dinner sat as that feels like a total treat - its also a bit of a faff so good weekend food.

Def feeling slimmer this week - hoping this week will the week i finally get through the 13.8 barrier.

Have a great day everyone

Welcome along, Lollipop don't be ashamed to weigh, you don't have to tell us. Some bootcampers put their starting weight as 100 on the spreadsheet and subtract from there.

Not been on much this week, half term is being rather all-consuming. But I am not consuming carbs, oh no.

B - 2 rashers of bacon and 2 eggs fried in ghee
L - avocado salad with tons of homemade garlic mayo
D - Poached and roasted whole chicken in an almond and sumac crust

I'm developing a paleo fine dining menu for a client so lots of opportunity for poncey dinners this week Grin

I need to try this celeriac lasagne. I have a mandolin so maybe if I sliced it thinly enough it wouldn't need pre-cooking?

ewanhoozami · 29/05/2015 08:48

PS not sure if these have cropped up yet, but these cauliflower tortillas are UH-mazing.

Mild faff but absolutely worth it. I'm not generally a fan of making LC versions of carby things but these are really versatile, I like them with chilli heaped on top.

cathyandclaire · 29/05/2015 08:52

Still tugging along here, same weight, my tapas night is tonight and the weather is anything but Spanish!
Am doing: Cold meat and cheese platter, olives, Almond roasted in oil with sea salt and rosemary, celeriac frittata, Spanish meatballs in tomato ( lowest carb I can find), prawns fried in garlic and chilli, chorizo in red wine and something paella-isn for the carby twunts Grin
Won't mention the pudding but it is bootcamp lite :)

Someone mentioned coconut flour for coating and deep-frying. Does it taste coconutty? Could I do Calamaris in it and serve with aioli or will that be too weird. My last experiment with coconut flour tasted and looked like soil!

cathyandclaire · 29/05/2015 08:57

Oh and Crabby's chicken...thanks so much for the nuts/tortilla too, it will be tapas crabby-style not carby-style :)

CrabbyTheCrabster · 29/05/2015 09:57

Tapas Crabby-style... I like that! :-D

Fab, thanks gcal

My mind is boggling at you being an hour away from Sainsburys. I'm in central London so I guess the view out of our respective windows couldn't be more different. I am a Londoner so I don't notice any noise or smog - I've lived here so long I've probably been lightly smoked Smile

Feeling rough today and would love carby nonsense for lunch but am going to stay firm. But might compensate with a slightly nicer than usual lunch and dinner (ie, the mackerel dauphinoise and something else).

We don't have much on this weekend so I am going to tackle - duh duh Duuuurrrrr - the cauliflower. I hate cauliflower normally but I thought I didn't like celeriac and now I do so I need to get over myself. The cauliflower things look like they need a bit more prep - might go for tortillas and then we can have fajitas which the DCs will love.

Tetley650 · 29/05/2015 10:18

Crabby - I'm the other side towards Winchester.
Succumbed to the scales this morning and have lost a little - not perhaps as much as I would want but at least no gain. I think part of my problem is no exercise to speak of. That will change next week going to get back in the pool and get up early to give the dogs 'the long walk' rather than the quick whisks rounds they have been getting. Learning to take simple steps rather than everything all at once. Food first exercise second.
Have a good day - despite the weather.

Out to lunch in local Italian - could be a mine field so probably aubergine parmigiana and then for dinner coyo from Tesco as I found some!!!
Breakfast was 2 chipolatas and a fried egg and a BPC

Gcalgske · 29/05/2015 11:13

Ok my view is pretty spectacular....
This is my local walk we do most days. Quick snap on my phone.

why does everyone feel the need to comment on personal stuff. At uni and everyone was having lunch but since we had nearly finished I said I hadnt brought any was going to eat at home, then everyone starts asking me about my eating and passing comment on fad diets and people putting all the weight back on etc. Feel really deflated now, I didn't even want to share never mind ask for opinions.

Preminstreltension · 29/05/2015 12:20

Lovely! And complete with personal rainbow landing on your toddler's head!

My view, funnily enough, is of my naked neighbours! I have a tiny yard garden and their bathroom overlooks my house. They don't have very frosted glass and their shower is in the bath in front of the window. They might as well stand stark naked in my garden. I would post a picture but I'd probably get myself arrested!

saranghae · 29/05/2015 12:42

Fatstacks - yes I always end up finishing the pack... decided against them in the end.. too dangerous!

Thank you for all the suggestions Flowers, in the end I bought some popcorn, some cheese and a little pot of coyo yoghurt. The popcorn went down well, no one wanted cheese so I just ate it and gave the rest to my family. Proud that I managed to resist agianst the other food they had brought! :)
Next time we should be going out to eat, so that will be a lot easier!

Oh yes, I bought a pot of coyo in Tesco - 125g pot, didn't think they sold it. It's 0.5g sugar per 100g and 19g of fat,it was nice but too coconutty, I prefer the lidl plain yoghurt.Next time, I will mix it with the plain FF yoghurt and try it out.

Also bought some swede, never tried it or cooked it before Blush. I almost chopped my hand off trying to cut it and peel it to prep for future meals. Think I will use it to make some chips today with guacomole, some fish and veggies. Is there anything I can use swede for other than mash?

saranghae · 29/05/2015 12:54

Wow, that is lovely Gcalgske. Looks so beautiful, so much space to ramble around, wonderful! Who cares about waitrose Wink Grin

ditavonteesed - people do that to me all the time and I don't think they realise how negative it makes you feel. Since there aren't any low carb options or food that I can actually eat [meat] at uni, I've ended up not eating when I'm there. So I eat before or wait until I get home. And about putting the weight back on, it isn't a fad diet like drinking lemon/pepper water, you're just making a conscious effect to eat heathily, to eat more veggies right.

Patapouf · 29/05/2015 12:59

Envy gcal that looks beautiful. It's quite green here but not any stunning scenery to be found in this part of the London commuter belt!

dita don't feel disheartened! You know this WOE works and that's all that matters, you don't have to explain or justify your diet to anyone. My family don't really understand it and DM keeps banging on about 'everything in moderation' but that doesn't work for me and it certainly isn't working for her but she has just had a load of LC recipe books from Amazon delivered to me which was v. Thoughtful. DH loves it, he gets butter ok everything and lots of crispy chicken skin plus eats sandwiches when I'm not here and manages to never gain weight.

lisbapalea · 29/05/2015 14:17

dita I know exactly what you mean. I just got home from lunch at a neighbours house where I foolishly mentioned low carb, high fat and the look I got for uttering the words "high fat" made me think I just should have kept my mouth closed. I didn't actually realise we were invited for lunch so my lunch today was massively off plan, but I tried to eat as little as possible, which was actually quite achievable as both my daughters were being massive pains in the arse over lunch so I barely had any time to eat anything anyway!

I actually feel in a filthy mood today and am hoping I can wash it out by drinking loads of water. No idea what else could be causing it, other than half term of course!

I didn't check in yesterday but had a great day food-wise so felt quite proud of myself; good job as today isn't shaping up brilliantly...

Yesterday
B - scrambled egg with avocado dressed with chilli oil
L - at Ikea so I had a plate fo Gravad Lax and salad, with the egg from my Mum's prawn/egg sandwich
D - courgetti with bacon, leftover bbq'd pork, mushrooms and cream, topped with parmesan

Today
B - coyo and ff greek yog with coconut flakes and some berries
L - fail, see above (was spag bol with extra peas and sweetcorn - I tried to just eat the sauce but I know I did end up with some spag, peas and sweetcorn)
D - going to a friend's for dinner tonight; she doesn't know about my LCing, so I will have to see what I can avoid without being rude.

lisbapalea · 29/05/2015 14:27

Just realised I totally didn't have that for dinner last night, that was the night before! Last night was leftover cauliflower cheese with spinach salad, olives and salami.

CrabbyTheCrabster · 29/05/2015 14:39

Gcal WOW! Envy Grin

ditavonteesed · 29/05/2015 15:00

Gcal, looks so lovely, I would never be indoors.

I do get really mad when people feel the need to comment on things they weren't asked about. I have told a lot of people about this woe as I don't intend to hide away from the world for the rest of my life so have ended up eating with people a lot. My friends and family have been really supportive as they have seen me struglle for years with weight and energy and now I am like a spritly 20 something, while the weight part is important it has become about so much more than that. This woe has offered me the control over my fatigue and my appetite which i never thought possible. I now realise I wasnt a greedy pig but reacting badly to the foods I was having which has in turn made me feel better about myself.
Everyone seems to be doing really well, lisapea you sound like you made the best of an unexpected invite there, I went to a friends for dinner last night and she mae spag bol but without anything too carby and I had loads of cheese while everyone else had pasta and garlic bread. I don't even feel like I am missing out anymore, I genuinely don't want those things.
Just made a lovely mix of prawns, spinach, butter and garlic roule cheese was delicious.

Romeyroo · 29/05/2015 15:01

Oh dita, why do people feel the need to comment? One of my colleagues said to me, 'have you lost weight? You are looking thin, and I don't mean that in a good way' Shock.

I am not sure what the correct response is - I do tend to fall back on the explanation that I have multiple allergies (true), but I have on occasion explained I don't eat sugar either. But then I don't want to make other people feel judged about their food choices, so the allergies one is easier to say. People will comment about anything, to be honest.

Meals so far (I am trying low carb, higher fibre to see if that helps my digestive/IBS issues)

B was two egg omelette with spinach
L was flax seed pancake (I made a stash so I have some more for other days, used coconut flour mixed in and coconut milk as the liquid with eggs), with spinach and cheese, like an open sandwich - it was lovely, actually and quite different from what I have been eating recently, but VERY filling.

Used coconut oil for the frying

Today was an improvement on previous days, till I ate lunch, so I might quit whilst I am ahead and not overdo things today on the food front for dinner! I know there is not much fat, so maybe a BPC later on.

gcalske beautiful views

Romeyroo · 29/05/2015 15:02

x-post, dita,

I now realise I wasnt a greedy pig but reacting badly to the foods I was having - YY to this, and the fact that carbs do not fill you up so much, so you eat more anyway!

ditavonteesed · 29/05/2015 15:09

Flaxseed pancake sounds really nice, are you doing better with your IBS this week? I am mainly having salads for my lunch as it's easier to take into uni but definatly prefer something hot and proper iykwim. Its weird cold prawns andd salad doesnt seem to fill me up as much as hot prawns and spinach but it is essentially the same food, must be psychological.

dillite · 29/05/2015 16:53

I think I am suffering from week 3/4 downer- I am craving sugar really badly. All I can think of is suuuugarrrrrr. And cake. Last night it took me all the willpower in the world not to binge on some ice cream last night. Don't know how I withstood that craving. It's like an obsession.

So today's food has been- bacon, butter and scrambled eggs for breakfast, cucumber
Lunch- spinach, cucumber, tuna, egg and mayo salad
Dinner will be pork loin in creamy sauce with more spinach salad and some swede mash

Tomorrow I am having to have a picnic so was thinking of making some egg, cheese, bacon and cauliflower muffins with some cucumber sticks on the side. How does that sound?
