Welcome everyone!

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness that the lovely Sayra creates and cares for. Come and confess all.

If you prefer, you can use the individual Weight Tracker, provided by MNHQ, which will open (I hope) tomorrow morning.

Please make sure that you know the rules, and that you know about the allowed veg - look at the tabs at the bottom of the spreadsheet - and think about printing them off so that you have them to hand

If you have any questions, obviously you can ask them here, but there's also a specific questions thread because the chat threads can move so quickly that questions can get missed.

Unfortunately I'm working pretty full on for the next three days, so won't be around very much - I'll try and check in as much as I can, but in reality I'm not going to be around very much until Thursday - apologies in advance.

Very good luck to you all

Perhaps the bendiness helps hold the sitches on the needles miffy Wink
So far today have stuck to bootcamp rules but need to actually drink some bloody water. Shattered so alternating between swearing at knitting and swearing at the computer whilst completing required research.

CrabbyTheCrabster · 13/05/2015 13:24

I like to eat marmite with just butter. Blush Tiny spoonful of butter in the mouth, then dip the teaspoon in the marmite and lick it off. Suck marmitey butter until dissolved. Repeat several dozen times. I don't even miss the toast. Wink

Hissy · 13/05/2015 13:32

oh digger you have my utmost sympathy, DS was in an accident a year ago on Sunday when I was 1 week into LCBC, I didn't eat in hospital at all for 2 days, apart from butter. He was there over 10 days, in the end I just couldn't keep going - are there any supermarkets you could pop to to get some supplies?
Or could someone bring you in something?

hope he's on the mend soon!

Hissy · 13/05/2015 13:38

B: turkish 10% fat yoghurt with double cream, 4 slices of bacon
L - salad with mozzarella cheese, chicken and olives
T: salmon or mackerel with salad and mayo etc

Loving the fried eggs and spinach idea....

miffy49 · 13/05/2015 14:03

I love Marmite and Vegemite but they went out of the window when I became intolerant to gluten. I tried the Meridian version from Holland and Barrett but that was vile so I was destined to read all your Marmite posts and drool until I found that the Coeliac Society are now listing Morrison's yeast extract as approved. Its not as good as the real thing but its a passable substitute. My go-to snack is a slice of cheese spread with butter and topped of with a slick of Marmite.

Wasn't there someone on an old BC who did a sort of fat bomb affair using marmite beaten into butter and frozen in dollops?

AndTheBandPlayedOn · 13/05/2015 14:19

I have not read the whole thread...
this is my first LCBC. Thanks for the support and encouragement.
I will try the cauliflower rice and Hollandaise sauce soon.

Breakfast: two eggs, two slices ham, butter, spices
Lunch: Vienna sausages, celery stalks
Snack: black olives
Dinner: Ham and turkey slices, cheese, meatloaf

Water: 90 ounces. I attend an exercise class once a week (exercise on my own too) and the trainer said to try taking your weight number, divide that by 2 and that is the number of ounces of water to consume.
I use a 22 ounce insulated cool gear cup with straw. I put 5 of my daughter's hair bands around the straw and twist one onto the straw every time I empty the cup. This helps me keep track of how much I have to go during the day...and also use an hourly alarm on my iphone to remind me to drink water.

Thanks again, thanks for doing this and being here. Flowers

AndTheBand

Breakfast: two eggs, two slices ham, butter, spices

Perfect - I hope that there was plenty of fat in this?^

Lunch: Vienna sausages, celery stalks

I'm not sure what a Vienna sausage is, but it sounds like it's processed - so this is the second time today you've had processed meat. And how much fat was involved in this meal?

Snack: black olives

A perfect low carb snack

Dinner: Ham and turkey slices, cheese, meatloaf

Be careful - more processed meat here. And where is your veg/salad? Today' you've only had celery! Low carbing IS NOT about no carbs, and you should be getting your carbs from veg and salad. Also, doesn't really sound like much fat was involved here.

Water: 90 ounces. I attend an exercise class once a week (exercise on my own too) and the trainer said to try taking your weight number, divide that by 2 and that is the number of ounces of water to consume.

That's interesting - how does it match up with the list of how much water you should drink that's on the rules?

Please remember that you do need to eat veg and salad, and you MUST make sure that you're eating plenty of fat!

Thanks so much for your response, BIWI.
Three liters is 101.43 ounces so not far off in comparison. 5 times my 22 ounce cup is 110...a little over anyway.

Thanks for the advice about vegetables. I did also have a large pickle, forgot to mention. But even so, I will add salad/veg to lunch and dinner.
I understand about processed meats. Thanks.

How many carbs are ok?

BIWI · 13/05/2015 14:50

We don't really count carbs on Bootcamp. For two reasons, first, because the idea behind Bootcamp is to make it as easy as possible to follow. And second, because everyone has a different level of carbs that they can tolerate.

Just follow the rules and you'll be fine!

I don't know what happened to me this morning. I lost the plot slightly Confused and ran out of the house with my lunch or water bottle, amongst other things. At least I was dressed though!

Our dinner plans changed last night. DP fancied a takeaway so we had Indian. I had tandoori mixed grill with salad (yes, the one in the bag Smile) cauli bhaji (curry) and I made my own ff yoghurt and fresh mint dressing.

B - leftover cauli bhaji with a good dollop of ff greek yoghurt.

L - I had to buy lunch so went to Aldi. Got one of their antipasti pots - chorizo, manchego and olives, a salad bowl and a jar of artichokes. I used the oil/vinegar that the 'chokes were in as a salad dressing. It was ok. Reasonably filling but not much substance.

D - will definitely be spag bol with courgetti topped with cheese and a dressed salad. I have a fancying for this so nothing else will do Smile.

trinitybleu · 13/05/2015 15:18

We weren't hungry last night so skipped the planned lamb steaks. He had salami, pepperoni, feta and olives. I had a egg mayo salad, with extra mayo.

Today
B - 2 boiled eggs with mayo
L - chicken and chorizo skewers, 2 bowls of green salad, gherkins, pickled cabbage with blue cheese dressing (Harvester)
D - prob those lamb steaks with cabbage and brocolli

Going to try and see if the Wii will weigh me tonight

shebedee · 13/05/2015 15:42

Just had a scrummy late lunch but not sure if it was fatty enough-
turkey mince stir fried in lots of coconut oil with greens, red and yellow peppers, bean sprouts and shallots. I added Chinese 5 spice, garlic, a vegetable OXO cube, soy sauce and a good dash of sesame oil. Served with courgetti noodles. Will have a creamy coffee just in case.

LexLoofah · 13/05/2015 15:42

marmite lovers yes yes to slices of cheese and/or butter with marmite on, I also like a tsp of butter in a hot marmite drink - who needs toast?

Patapouf · 13/05/2015 16:11

What gherkins are you all buying? My favourite Mrs Elsewoods ones are sadly quite carby Sad

HemanOrSheRa · 13/05/2015 16:43

Funnily enough Pata I am looking at an empty jar of Mrs Elsewood Sweet and Sour Cucumbers right now Smile. I put the empty jar on my kitchen windowsill to remind me to get more. They are 2.6g carbs/100g. Not too bad. Each cucumber weighed about 50g give or take. I know because I checked as I ate them, just to make sure, as generally I have no portion control whatsoever. I would only have one a day at the most though.

Patapouf · 13/05/2015 16:56

Ooh, maybe it's just the sandwich slice ones that are more? I might get some in BClite as an occasional snack

ditavonteesed · 13/05/2015 17:27

I bought some of the marmite cheese the other day, its lovely, like babybel with attitude.

HemanOrSheRa · 13/05/2015 17:30

These are the ones Pata.

B: 2 egg omelette in olive oil with slice of edam
L: peppered mackerel fillet, 9 cherry toms
S: 2 wafer thin ham slice 'rolls' with baby leaf salad and half tblsp creme fraiche
D: sea bass fillet, cauli rice, fried in olive oil, spinach, half tblsp creme fraiche

That ok?

Fishlegs · 13/05/2015 18:16

I'm doing BC light due to bf my 8 mo, and I've been hungry today.

B - leeks in butter with 2 scrambled duck eggs
L - crayfish tails with salad and Mayo
D - bolognese with spring greens in butter

S - spoonful of hazelnut butter
Some coyo (how good is that?!)
Asparagus cooked in butter

On the plus side I've had loads of water and only 2 cups of tea, which is major for me.
How can I beat that kids' teatime craving?

Flutey60 · 13/05/2015 18:35

Just discovered that Pret do protein pots. Useful snack! Spinach, hard-boiled egg and smoked salmon. Pricey, but good in an emergency!!

ApplySomePressure · 13/05/2015 18:42

Anyone finding it hard to resist DC's leftovers? I wouldn't normally think twice before scoffing the last spoonful of rice pudding/eating a few chips off the plate....It's really made me thinkaboutmy eating habits.

b:two chicken legs, skin on, lots of Delouis Mayo and Parma ham
L: huge tuna salad with lots of Delouis Mayo and lemon juice. Sliced beef, green beans and brussels
Dinner: chicken wrapped in Parma ham stuffed with cheese, asparagus and salad

3 litres of Water so far

Is this sounding ok?not sure about Brussels?

LexLoofah · 13/05/2015 18:51

hello all

b - 2 scr eggs in butter, half avo mashed with hm mayo, cuppa
l - spinach, hm mayo, roasted courgette, shallot, aubergine, peppers with poached salmon and a cucumber
d - a creamy tomato and cheese bake with chunks of roasted courgette standing in for what used to be the pasta. great for using up bits of cheese, probably serve over spinach or kale

plenty of rooibos & coconut oil, a hot marmite with butter and lots of water

LexLoofah · 13/05/2015 18:56

fishlegs are you hungry at their tea time or is it just a habit? if you are hungry go ahead and eat something esp as you are bfing - how about some greek yogurt, a few nuts, a boiled egg, olives, a slice of cheese etc

it is worth reading one of the low carb books like Dr Briffa's diet trap, changes the way you look at carbs so it makes it somewhat easier to resist those chips on their plate for example.

yongnian · 13/05/2015 19:02

Checking in...doing ok...hence...carb flu.
