We filled up the last thread and we still have 3 weeks to go until the next official BC so here is our new inbetween BC thread.

So, I was good yesterday and now all of my confessions are lost on the previous thread Grin but I am going to carry on with daily weighing and food recording so this morning I weighed 225 lbs.

Thanks for the reply Romey
apologises for graphic talk so close to breakfast I have a (minor) prolapsed bowel from birth trauma so getting bunged is frightening. I was sick but it was mostly watery stuff. It's like I get too bunged and then my body can't cope so the excess comes back up. :/ seems to happen with big doses of very high fibre stuff. I ate fairly normally yesterday but woke up in the middle of the night feeling nauseous again. Had a fennel tea with some coconut oil.

trashcanjunkie · 04/05/2015 12:48

Oh gcal bum trouble is awful you poor thing.

romey Wink

I'm finishing being 'off plan' after today. I have secured scale batteries and will begin tomorrow. I'm toying with starting on uber camp to see if I can stop piddling about weight wise, which is a big demotivator for me. I need to see some steady losses, as I haven't really has any when I've been strictly on plan for weeks and weeks. If the uber camp works, I'm considering remaining dairy free, as I think I'm mildly intolerant since the bloody campylobacter incident last year. Humph.

LexLoofah · 04/05/2015 15:18

not bank holiday here grrr, day off and walking in bluebells sounds heavenly

2lb off today so that makes exactly 20lb since starting Jan bootcamp so definitely carrying on with the next one!

Another skirt consigned to the charity shop pile, I don't want to buy another one as planning to go down even further size wise so think it will have to be dresses and a belt from now on.

gcal hope you are feeling better

Patapouf · 04/05/2015 16:51

Thanks wombat Smile

What are people's experience of flaxseed? I found an interesting looking bag of it in Holland and Barrat that had cocoa in it and still less than 4g/100 carbs.

TheHappyCamper · 04/05/2015 17:08

Hi all

I confess to very nearly falling off the wagon today. We had gone to the seaside, gorgeous sunshine, walked along the prom and DH really wanted fish n chips. We eventually found a café where I had a burger, cheese, coleslaw and salad but I felt really selfish and difficult, and that my food choices might spoil a lovely day out. I got through it but it was not a nice feeling. I think I need to be better prepared and try to plan where we might eat if we go out again. This was a bit impromptu. Overall, I did still have a nice day though.

Pataouf - I have been using LIDL flax. I put it in the cream cheese pancakes and also in Greek yoghurt. It' nice. Mine's a bit like sesame seeds.

gcal - really hope you're feeling better. I have bought some of those konjak noodles and you've put me right off having them now Grin

sorelip - glad you also like the "ditchthecarbs" site. I also like "I breathe I'm hungry" and "all day I dream about food". They have some great recipes. The only problem is that they are American, but I bought some US measuring cups off ebay for a couple of £.

plumstone · 04/05/2015 17:39

Awfulday, spent most of the afternoon on the loo! Can this be a side effect of too much fat? Or what am I not eating to give some 'grip' Grin really not wanting dinner, on the plus may well have lost a couple of lbs by tomorrow!

BeyondDoesBootcamp · 04/05/2015 17:52

Oh bollocks, i forgot there were no nuts on bc and had pine nuts on my salad. Good start beyond.

Patapouf · 04/05/2015 18:27

Can I use ground flax in the same way? What are cream cheese pancakes??

TheHappyCamper · 04/05/2015 18:54

Cream cheese pancakes are great when you just can't face eggs for breakfast! I do 1 egg and 1 large spoon of cream cheese. Whisk together. You can add stuff like a tsp of flax, or a drop of vanilla or maybe a touch of sweetener, but just the egg & cream cheese is nice. Then fry in butter.

This amount makes one big pancake (like a crepe). The only difference to a normal flour pancake is that they are more delicate, so you need to turn it carefully. They are lovely with FF greek yoghurt or lightly whipped cream on or a couple of berries on BCL.

They could be nice savoury but I haven't had them - more like an omelette I guess.

lisbapalea · 04/05/2015 19:37

Despite my 4lb loss this morning which was supposed to motivate me, I did fall slightly off-piste again today with a small (it really was small) portion of rhubarb crumble and cream. I totally shouldn't have but I made it for my family and it looked flipping lovely so I wanted to see if it was as good as it looked (it was).

Apart from that, today has been reasonably good:

Ff yog, flax and coconut for breakfast

Bbq'd chicken (skin on), posh burger, green peppers and mushroom, with coleslaw, salad and dressing.

Lunch was late (4pm) so I won't have proper dinner, just cheese and maybe some salami.

HemanOrSheRa · 04/05/2015 19:50

I have put yesterdays bread disaster behind me and hopped straight back on the wagon. I had a quick late breakfast of cold chicken curry Blush. It was lovely! And then took DS and one of his friends to an Adventure Park near us. We had a fabulous time. The boys had ice creams and then a Maccy D's as a treat on the way home. I ignored all that and had a black coffee when we were out. I had homemade beef burger, topped with crispy streaky bacon, fried mushrooms and melted cheese, a massive green salad and homemade coleslaw when we got back. Very nice.

Romeyroo · 04/05/2015 20:23

Oh Gcalske, that does sound difficult; I hope that thing are back to normal for you tomorrow. I confess to some uncertainty about the noodles now too, Happy, but to be honest, they probably would have languished in my cupboard anyway.

I don't know, plum, my experience of this WOE tends, on balance, to be more the other way, but that is probably as I also take iron supplements. Are you sure it couldn't just be something you have eaten rather than the WOE itself?

patapouf, flaxseed - good for maintaining regularity, let's put it that way, but BIWI pulled it out when she was looking at my meals one time, and said it might be too carby. I think it is one of those things where you need to try it and see the effect on you.

trash, I have had very long stalls, where I am not losing anything - after the initial weight loss, that is - and I have stuck with it as I generally feel better, but movement downwards has been really incremental.

I am mostly diary free anyway, as I am allergic to milk proteins (apart from hard cheese in small doses, thankfully, as I love cheese).

Almond milk is off the menu here, though, now, as I am allergic to tree nuts (it stupidly took me some weeks to make the connection between the fact that I am allergic to tree nuts and I was coming out in rashes when I was using almond milk Hmm). Skin has completely cleared since I went back to unsweetened soya milk and I'm not using any almond milk/coconut milk products. Talk about feeling a bit dim-witted...

Patapouf · 04/05/2015 20:28

Lunch was a sort of teriyaki chicken thigh (with no sugar, just marinated so no carby sauce) cauliflower rice with cooked using coconut oil and sweetheart cabbage & mangetout with garlic oil.

Dinner is going to be mustardy ham (just waiting to get it out of the oven) cucumber and Philly.

Planning some Greek yoghurt with flax for breakfast tomorrow, which may be more like lunch as I have a lie in to look forward to Grin

I'm thinking I might make some fruit tea ice lollies to have when an ice cream craving hits. Or maybe when I get to BCL I can have some sort of homemade frozen yoghurt with raspberries type thing.

Patapouf · 04/05/2015 20:30

Maybe I'll have to avoid flax for BC and see how I go if I introduce a tiny bit. I thought it was an okayish carb % Sad

LexLoofah · 04/05/2015 20:36

pata not the same as ice cream but for a cold treat I did dollops of ff greek yog on parchment paper on a tray, topped with a few frozen blueberries, put the tray in the freezer and then when frozen packed in a bag in the freezer. they are rock hard when you take them out, need to let them soften a bit but are nice if you want something cold and refreshing (bc lite due to the fruit)

there is an ice cream recipe on the thread as well but not tried it as I don't have an ice cream maker and am not getting one either as would be lethal

Romeyroo · 04/05/2015 21:06

pata, i wasn't trying to put you off, just saying monitor how you go. I found I am really sensitive to carbs but people are different. I do agree leaving it for BC though.

Preminstreltension · 04/05/2015 21:10

Had a planned day off yesterday as it was a family birthday party. Didn't go crazy though which I normally would do. Was going to take today off as well as had loads to get through and was planning to be out and about today somewhere I knew low carb would be tricky.

So had toast for breakfast but lunch came and went and I wasn't hungry so I waited till I got home and toyed with the idea of a cheese sandwich but realised I wasn't that fussed! So hopped back on the wagon - celeriac and mayonnaise with ham. Then egg and bacon for dinner. I realise that's two lots of processed meat but not bad considering I was opting out of today altogether!

Fully back in gear tomorrow and happy to have had a nice day yesterday complete with birthday cake etc but it really has been containable and I haven't felt the need to do the whole "in for a penny in for a pound" thing.

plumstone · 04/05/2015 21:18

Thanks Romey, to be fair my digestive system is a bit temperamental, and can go from one extreme to the other with the change in weather. The only thing that I tried that was brand new were the pork scratchings, may avoid for a few days and see how we go!

Just made lunch for tomorrow, roast veg ( onion, courgette, Aubergeine and a yellow pepper) ham and cream cheese rolls and come cherry toms

Will see how we get on with that!

Patapouf · 04/05/2015 22:57

Ah okay, I think I might track total carbs in MFP to give me a better idea of what I can get away with eating and still lose weight.

I seem to be thinking up ways I can still have treats when I really need to stop seeing food with that mindset altogether.

That sounds like a quick fix lex more likely to hit the spot if they dont take too long to prep.

Going to attempt some homemade aioli tomorrow, no idea what I'll eat it with though!

Gcalgske · 04/05/2015 23:09

Managed some bone broth and a bit of a burger with avocado. Never eating those blooming noodles again. Grrrr.

DarkEvilMoon · 05/05/2015 00:04

I know it sound hard Gcalgske but at least you know for certain. A totally unpleasant way to find out and sorry you are having to go through.

I have been off piste and struggling. It is looking like I will be doing full on elimination diet sooner rather than later. Fluxuating intollerances due to the fibro are driving me mad. Also random patches of excema are appearing in my joints along with cracked and bleeding knuckles. Not sure whether the trigger is food or over doing/lack of sleep/stress. Trying to bootcamp has mostly kept me on track and not falling into the demon sugar. I will be bootcamping but I am going to have to figure a few fibro/life things out. Will see you on the other side.

And thanks for all the help and advice with the milk and nut free snack type things. It has helped. Flowers

plumstone · 05/05/2015 10:52

Morning All, Feeling like a whole new Plum today - so whatever it was is well and truly out the system. Back to very plain and very simple LC.

B - FF Greek strained yogurt - despite the carb controversy up the post - I like it, it fills me up and not too high in carbs

L - Mixture of roast veg, aubergine, courgette, red onion, peppers. Ham and cream cheese rolls and cherry toms

D - home made burger with fried onion and mushrooms on lettuce with Mayo and cream cheese

2.5ltr water
2 caffein loaded black coffees
Herbal teas - lots I need hot drinks in my life
Big change for me this week, is no booze at all what so ever, Have decided i worry about being 11.13lbs - far too close to 12!! Also need to be super good this week as off on Saturday to the US, so goodness only knows the untold damage that could done there!!!!

trashcanjunkie · 05/05/2015 11:40

Morning all.

Day one of no dairy.

Breakfast was three eggs scrambled in coconut oil. I did them in the pan which had steak cooked in it last night so they were a bit brown Hmm then chucked in baby spinach at the last minute (too late cos still crunchy) and ate them with a tiny avocado. Oh I had a tiny avocado first thing before walking the dogs.

So far only had water to drink. Not quite half a litre yet. Planning on taking some vitamin e and d in a bit. Can't get warm. Feel knackered.

Romeyroo · 05/05/2015 11:48

Good luck trash, I don't think the weather helps, it is pouring down here and dark - like February (edited out the swearword I would like to put in before February). Definitely a KOKO day in more ways than one.

StuntNun · 05/05/2015 12:13

I'm finding no dairy a pain in the ass Trash as butter was a major part of my diet. Breakfasts are the worst since I'm avoiding eggs too.
