The inbetween BC BC for those who didn't do as well as they should on the real BC

SayraT · 06/04/2015 18:41

Ok, some of us (me) didn't do very well on the real actual BC and some others just feel the need to have a little extra push before the next real BC so this is our inbetween BC BC Grin

I'll start, I'm currently 222 lb and want to be 217 lb by the start of the real BC (11th May). I will be recording my food daily to keep on track, I am also going to weigh daily.

Food

B: Flax wrap with butter, coffee with cream
L: M&S salad, ff yog
S: S&V peanuts (none left now so I'll have normal nuts or none at all)
D: Cauli-rice with hot smoked salmon

Well, lunch was smoked mackerel, and rocket leaves with a dollop of tuna mayo, plus some sliced cheese and chorizo.

Had some salaminis as a snack, just a few as shared pot with dp and ds.

Very late dinner as had to do unplanned mercy mission for friend, so got back at ten and had roast chicken, cauliflower and broccoli baked with philly and cream, roast courgette and a small spoon of cele/swede mash with chicken juices poured over for gravy. I had to force myself to drink loads of water before I started eating, and straight after, because I knew I'd overeat.

DarkEvilMoon · 10/04/2015 01:06

Well today was full of goods and bads. I had 2 meals with veg - good. I met up with a friend for a stitch and bitch - bad foodwise but i am not sharing how bad
water was ok. coffee not the best at 4 cups.
Still lots to work on. but 3 proper meals is a start and veg is progress. So more in that direction.

LexLoofah · 10/04/2015 02:58

Ooh is fresh coconut allowed? That would be lovely

Romeyroo · 10/04/2015 06:18

I don't actually know, Lex, I kind of assumed that because coconut milk was fine, coconut would be (and where I live you don't often see coconuts in shops, so I thought buying one was a good ideaHmm)

PseudoBadger · 10/04/2015 06:31

Coconut itself is definitely too carby Sad

Romeyroo · 10/04/2015 06:34

Ah, okay. That is that, then!!

Gcalgske · 10/04/2015 08:23

Fresh coconut is around 13g carbs per 100g. When I have it tend to have a small piece (15-20g) and that's enough. It has never spiked my blood sugar, made me crave sweets or kicked me out of ketosis and I'm very IR.

Fatstacks · 10/04/2015 08:40

Morning campers Grin

Not too bad yesterday foodwise but the water, failed.

Having a run on mr porkies (out of date are 5p in my jack fultons the kitkat cornettos are 10p so I'm saving money Hmm ) plus nuts.

Need to shop but DP is being difficult because i buy too many plants at this time of year Wink

B. Nice sausages.
L. Salad ham.
D. Cauli cheese.
S. Mr porkies!

BabsUnited · 10/04/2015 09:54

B: 1x bacon and 2x eggs with mushrooms all fried in olive oil and butter

StuntNun · 10/04/2015 09:59

DH made grilled pork chops and steamed cabbage for dinner yesterday. Very dispiriting. I think I might have to ban him from cooking.

babygiraffe86 · 10/04/2015 10:02

Morning All -

cold sausages with garlic philadelphia for brekkie,

cup of green tea with lemon :)

egg mayo with bacon wrapped in a lettuce leaf for lunch with a chunk of cucumber and some chopped red pepper.

so far not feeling hungry, worked out i started on Monday so today is day 5 and i'm just under 2lbs down - don't know where from though as still measuring the same everywhere.

readyforno2 · 10/04/2015 10:35

Weighed this morning. Down to 146! Grin

But, in saying that I'm not celebrating yet! Have decided that I really need to start having a proper breakfast. I've got pretty lazy about breakfasts recently and find I'm starving in the evenings. Maybe if I eat more during the day I'll not be so hungry later on.

This morning I had ff yog with a wee shake of cinnamon and a splash of double cream.

Going to take the dc swimming today, although it feels wrong when it's so nice outside Confused

PlayNice · 10/04/2015 17:37

Eep, bit of a dangerous day as we went to Borough Market. Ended up having:
Breakfast: smoked salmon and spinach
Lunch: a wild boar sausage and a venison sausage with salad (hopefully the sausages were low carb - they seemed quite high quality).

Assorted snacks of bits of cheese, an amazing mushroom pate, bits of ham and salami, (two honey roasted cashews and one chocolate covered Hazlenut, and a Slimline G&T). Eep. Not too saintly, but not the worst day ever.

Now to have something good for dinner.

LexLoofah · 10/04/2015 17:43

play that sounds like a nice and yummy day out

thought I would give the family a break from eggs this morning so it was a slice of ham & a nugget of cheddar then ff greek yog & blueberries, cuppa

L - have a desk picnic of dill pickle, olives, cucumber, celery, ham, cheese, hb eggs and hm mayo to dip - yummy
d - thinking it will be hm burger on lettuce bun

have a good and low carb weekend all

PlayNice · 10/04/2015 17:51

Oh, it was so much fun. Although my fridge now consists of creamy mushroom pate, cheese, yogurt and more cheese. Lots of cheese salads in my future, I think.

Desk picnics sound great! I love nibbly things.

Fatstacks · 10/04/2015 19:08

Ahhh the gin is calling Sad

Gcalgske · 10/04/2015 19:17

Mmmmmm gin.

HemanOrSheRa · 10/04/2015 19:22

Ooh are dill pickles ok? I love them!

B - courgette omelette

S - a few olives

L - Leftover Thai Meatballs, (they are delicious Drama) big salad of watercress, spinach, rocket, shallot, cue, celery, half a tom and half an avocado. Dollop of mayo for dunking and oily dressing.

S - Quite a lot of pork scratchings Blush.

D - Will be spicy chicken skewers and stir fried green veg in garlic and chilli butter. But I'm not that hungry. Probably due to overindulging on the scratchings.

DramaAlpaca · 10/04/2015 19:57

B: Protein shake (yes, I'm making a habit of them). No bulletproof tea today, couldn't face it this morning. Still kept me full until lunch.

L: Scrambled eggs with butter & cream & a bit of cheese, and two sausages

S: A few chunks of cheddar, olives, pieces of chicken breast & caesar salad dressing

D: Will be Butter Chicken from the IPD book & cauli rice.

babygiraffe86 · 10/04/2015 20:09

I think I lied lots this morning - some fool at work decided as it's Friday they would bring treats, and leave them on my desk Angry
6 mini diam bars later here I am - my name is giraffe and I am a chocoholic Sad so so so disappointed in myself after being soo good all week.
kicked myself into touch with a lamb steak with mint cream for tea, butter fried mushrooms and mange tout on the side. 1 slip does not a failure make.

Romeyroo · 10/04/2015 20:31

Mmm the Thai meatballs do sound lovely; might give them a go at the weekend

Did less well today than yesterday as out all day - planned to be back by four-ish but it was too nice.

B scrambled eggs with coconut milk and spinach
L picnic of hb eggs, spinach, cucumber and cheese chunks
S hot dog sausage, not sure how low carb but needed to eat sth to be able to drive home, two small pieces of dark chocolate
D half past seven by then and too tired to cook - more salad, spinach added in, Mayo, grated cheese and a bit of low carb pate.

Definitely enough water - I am also drinking a lovely camomile and spearmint tea. Will definitely try and cook properly tomorrow.

gcalske, thanks for the advice on the coconut; i don't seem to have a good reaction to carbs at all and I confess to being scared of them now. I was on a very restricted diet for health reasons and then when I started eating more normally, it felt like I ballooned. I am still trying to work out what I am comfortable with and what works for me. I am going to reflect on the coconut.

Gcalgske · 10/04/2015 20:50

Good luck romey! I'm a classic PCOS girl with very bad insulin resistance so have to stick to less than 20g carbs per day. I tend to monitor my BG when trying new things and it was steady with the coconut. Hope it was all the lovely fat balancing everything out? Coconut milk is essentially puréed coconut flesh with water and a thickener added then strained so my thought was that a little bit of the meat is just like a super concentrated dose (if that makes any sense?!) think I need a gin now. :)

Gcalgske · 10/04/2015 20:52

B: left over tuna salad, cucumber and extra mayo
L: 1/8 of a fat head pizza, last small portion of coleslaw
D: green bean chips, roasted chicken breast, Mayo &
Mustard

BabsUnited · 10/04/2015 21:29

B: bacon eggs and mushrooms fried in butter and oil
L: ham, cheese and cucumber, little but of tuna mayo (only had light hellmans and I wasn't sure of carb content, so used a small squidge of that then added some olive oil)
D: bolognese made with 15% fat mince and coconut oil, mushrooms and courgettes.

Am stuffed, although this is probably half the volume I would have eaten in a normal day. Not drunk enough water though, maybe a litre max. Will try and address that tomorrow

CharlieSierra · 10/04/2015 21:32

Where is the Thai meatballs recipe please?
