The inbetween BC BC for those who didn't do as well as they should on the real BC

SayraT · 06/04/2015 18:41

Ok, some of us (me) didn't do very well on the real actual BC and some others just feel the need to have a little extra push before the next real BC so this is our inbetween BC BC Grin

I'll start, I'm currently 222 lb and want to be 217 lb by the start of the real BC (11th May). I will be recording my food daily to keep on track, I am also going to weigh daily.

Food

B: Flax wrap with butter, coffee with cream
L: M&S salad, ff yog
S: S&V peanuts (none left now so I'll have normal nuts or none at all)
D: Cauli-rice with hot smoked salmon

what is fat head pizza, green beans chips and bulletproof tea?

HemanOrSheRa · 10/04/2015 22:03

CharlieSierra The Thai meatballs are from the Diet Proof Diet Cookbook. I think the recipe is on the bootcamp recipe thread too.

SayraT · 10/04/2015 22:06

Food

B: Two fried eggs, coffee with cream
L: Tuna mayo with lettuce, ff yog
D: Chicken korma
S: Four mini chicken skewer things, 3 Blush naked bars (45g carbs)

Not a good day, had a disaster with the fish tank, it started leaking (its 120 litres) the fish are currently squashed in a 45 litre tank while I sort out a big plastic box for them.

Baba the cheaper mince tends to be 20%+ fat - if I can't get fatty beef mince I mix in some pork mince to up the fat content.

This is the pizza:

www.fathead-.com/index.php/2013/06/30/weekend-bonus-the-older-brothers-oldest-sons-faux-carb-pizza/

I do 200g shredded mozzarella, 2 heaped tbsp cream cheese - microwave until melted. Add in 3/4 cup (12 level tbsp if you don't have cups) ground almonds and an egg and beat like mad till it comes together as a dough.
Wet hands then spread out on a silicon mat. Bake for 8 mins at 200deg then flip and cook for another couple. Top with 100g passata reduced with some oregano until thick then your favourite pizza topping. Pepperoni and pickled green chilli and lots more cheese for me or spinach and ricotta cheese.
A quarter of this is a big dinner or an eighth with salad makes a decent lunch.

Green bean chips are just deep fried green beans. I use frozen and deep fry until crisp. They are yummy.

Gcalgske · 10/04/2015 22:15

babs not baba! Doh!

Gcalgske · 10/04/2015 22:20

Bulletproof tea is tea made with coconut oil(or MCT oil) and butter. You use a blender or frother to immulsify it. It's creamy and lovely. I really like chai, it's like a super duper chai latte. Bulletproof coffee started it off, I like it too but it's a bit rich for me in the morning.

yongnian · 10/04/2015 22:20

Belatedly slinking in to confess all about how spectacularly I've fallen off the wagon since the end of last bootcamp mark my spot.
Hello everyone. It is best to draw a veil over Easter and keep away from the scales for now...aiming for a low carb day-at-a-time right now...

CharlieSierra · 10/04/2015 22:20

Ooh lovely, thanks Heman I have that book, obviously haven't read it very well!

DramaAlpaca · 10/04/2015 22:21

Oh my, the Butter Chicken from the Idiot Proof Diet cookbook (which is what Heman meant to say above Wink) was delish. It has been devoured by the whole family & there aren't any leftovers. I had it with cauli rice & the others had basmati & poppadums. Lucky them Sad. I also did Buttered Spinach to go with it. Not a spinach fan in general, but it was OK.

nappyaddict bulletproof tea is tea made with coconut oil & butter instead of milk. Most people have bulletproof coffee but I don't drink coffee. It's tolerable, but definitely an acquired taste.

DramaAlpaca · 10/04/2015 22:22

Sorry, x-posted with a few people while I was typing.

Gcalgske · 10/04/2015 22:27

drama I've been having a popadom every now and again. If you get chick pea or lentil flour ones (sharwoods ready made onesie good ) they are only around 3G carbs each which I think is ok as a treat every now and then. I've been having them as crackers smothered in cheese and butter.

Gcalgske · 10/04/2015 22:28

Ahhhh! Cross posting. My display just refreshed. Hate that.

DramaAlpaca · 10/04/2015 22:33

That's good to hear about poppadums. They were Sharwoods ready made & I didn't read the label just assumed I couldn't have them. I thought I'd done very well resisting when DS1 was waving them around in front of me.

HemanOrSheRa · 10/04/2015 22:46

Oops! Ha! Yes The IDIOT Proof Diet Cookbook Confused. I've had TWO glasses of soda with a slice of lime. They've gone straight to my head!

The Butter Chicken is gorgeous isn't it Drama?

DramaAlpaca · 10/04/2015 22:51
Grin

The Butter Chicken has been added to the list of family faves.

Where does everyone keep their coconut oil? Fridge or cupboard?

I don't have a deep fat fryer has anyone tried the green bean chips using a saucepan?

Gcalgske · 10/04/2015 23:21

Coconut oil I keep in the cupboard, I've shallow fried green beans before and they were lovely but couldn't get them quite as crisp.

trashcanjunkie · 10/04/2015 23:30

You could do them in a normal pan nappy just wack in loads of oil.... I'd use sunflower oil for that.

Sayra are the fish ok? What the heck 3 nacked bars!!

And stunty your dp is obviously suffering sympathetic sleep deprivation and acting deranged. How are you meant to stay full on those wrongly cooked foods? You'd better feed off something much higher in fat Wink

Oh god, dps dog has toxic farts. He ate one of our Greek yoghurts on the beach today....

Yes, we have been at the beach. Bit of a disaster. Dp did that really fucking annoying thing, I call dad rage. He was in a terrible silent grump for the journey there, The beach we chose to visit is an hours drive away, then a mile walk. It's worth it, as the sands are white and the place is an SSSI. On the beach itself, which is usually deserted you can see bamburgh castle on your left and holy island on your right. But I could feel the stress and anxiety pouring off him.... I just don't get it. it lasted til after lunch, when he literally curled up in a ball (taking a 'nap' but I knew it was a near panic attack/sulk)

Then he pulled himself round and was like a bloody puppy. I gave him a really quick bollocking on the beach, and then moved on with our 'lovely day' but I am going to address it with him and find a way to stop it happening in the future.

The bloody beach was freezing under a massive fret when we arrived, and to top it off we interrupted a naturist strolling about on the dunes! Which I thought was bloody hilarious.

My weight was up a kilo from yesterday, but I've been sweaty at night so hope it's hormones. Ate leftovers for breakfast, then chicken and salad for lunch and dinner.

Only had 2.5 of water but still going.

nappyaddict · 10/04/2015 23:35

How long does coconut oil last? does it go off?

Gcalgske · 11/04/2015 00:12

Oh trash you do make me giggle, I've got a picture in my head of someone sat with a tinfoil packed lunch and some random nude bloke wandering over a dune. Put you right off your picnic that would.

Gcalgske · 11/04/2015 00:13

Coconut oil is one of those things that will last for ages (years) as long as you keep it clean. No dirty spoons in the jar (fresh from the dishwasher) or cross contamination and it'll be grand.

Gcalgske · 11/04/2015 00:19

From the tropical traditions website:

  1. Does Coconut Oil need to be kept in the refrigerator, and how long does it last?

No, coconut oil does not need to be kept in the refrigerator. In the Philippines and other tropical climates, where the ambient air temperature is much higher than North America, people traditionally have not refrigerated coconut oil. Virgin Coconut oil is very stable since it is unrefined and mostly saturated. The expiration dates on our Virgin Coconut Oils are for two years, and on our Expeller-pressed coconut oils they are 18 months, but they will usually be fine much longer than the expiration dates. We do recommend you store the oil out of direct sunlight. In the tropics coconut oil is almost always a liquid, since it’s melting point is about 76 degrees F. In North America it will usually be a solid, butter-like consistency. It can be stored in either form.

I have had an absolutely shocking day. Overslept and ended up grabbing some soya yoghurt at 9:30, crisis at work so lunch happened at 5pm did a huge fry up -3 sausages, 2 pieces of bacon and 3 eggs scrambled in butter, left the house around 6:30 and went to meet up with a friend and do some reasonably intensive exercise. Encountered a massive fire (think 4 fire trucks + and road closure) on the way out so had a long natter with friend. Got back about 2am. Pinged a tin of soup as I had the shakes, which is not great for bootcamp because I was too tired to do anything and needed food. 2mins seemed achievable. Tbh food intake has been rather shockingly low today.

Not sure there is anything good to say about today yesterday I have finally changed that bloody clock to the right time which will help Blush Veg seems to be my nemesis, and yet again not sticking to the basic 3 meals thing. Normally good with water intake but even that has been really bad, not sure I even managed 2ltrs.

Have done some work needed for tomo so heading to bed. Need to think about tomo as it is another weirdly timed day for activities so normal meal times are not possible. At least tomo I know is going to be weirdly timed

BabsUnited · 11/04/2015 07:08

I seem to have gone from 11st5 to 11st0.8 in three days Shock

BabsUnited · 11/04/2015 07:17

I also keep coconut oil in cupboard.

Has anyone got any idea how bad or otherwise pesto would be? I remembered a recipe that I fancied (chicken bashed out and flattened with pesto and cheese, grilled) and thought that might not be too bad on this WOE?

Think I'll buy that IPD book, although DH will kill me as I have hundreds of cookery books already Blush
