The inbetween BC BC for those who didn't do as well as they should on the real BC

SayraT · 06/04/2015 18:41

Ok, some of us (me) didn't do very well on the real actual BC and some others just feel the need to have a little extra push before the next real BC so this is our inbetween BC BC Grin

I'll start, I'm currently 222 lb and want to be 217 lb by the start of the real BC (11th May). I will be recording my food daily to keep on track, I am also going to weigh daily.

Food

B: Flax wrap with butter, coffee with cream
L: M&S salad, ff yog
S: S&V peanuts (none left now so I'll have normal nuts or none at all)
D: Cauli-rice with hot smoked salmon

BabsUnited, thank you for that, I was able to get some, I hadn't realised it was in solid form, I almost didn't see it Smile How much do I use at a time? Cheers

Romeyroo · 09/04/2015 18:10

Hiya everyone,

Just to say the bigger breakfast with green veg helped - I had lunch at half two - it was a tuna Niçoise salad but from Pret so carb-counted (4g carbs) and I put the dressing on. The reason there was no dressing yesterday was that it was an impromptu bought salad and the only cutlery provided were spoonsHmm. I didn't want oily dressing over my clothes!

Took DD to meet her friend at the mall and had coffee there (and Pret salad) - and did a bit of clothes shopping - noticing a difference on the back of my thighs, but the back of my hips spurred me to KOKO!!

SayraT · 09/04/2015 18:17

Food Today

B: FF yog with a strawberry, coffee with cream
2nd B: Two fried eggs, coffee with cream
L: Leftover fajita sauce (no chicken left, just peppers) with cheese on top
D: Lamb shank, green cabbage, asparagus and broccoli
S: Two squares dark chocolate, pork scratchings

E: Rode for 1 hour, 2 hours dog walking, 1 hour pole

minibmw2010 I usually use a teaspoon and just dig out about a teaspoons worth. It melts really quickly as it has a low melting point and is deeeeelicious. Especially in a thai-inspired dinner. It's also great on skin - a bit of a wonder product must be for the price

LexLoofah · 09/04/2015 18:31

sayra I had two breakfasties today as well! woke up at 4am for some reason, read for a bit, got exasperated and got up at 5am and had a cuppa and a very small bowl of ff greek yog and tbls spoon blueberries and one dark choc almond

Proper breakfast was mushrooms in bacon fat and butter & 2 fried eggs plus another cuppa
L - put the last of the lamb out of it's misery with hm mayo, dill pickle, watercress, pepper & cucumber
D - had better be the butter chicken DH has been instructed to make Smile no doubt followed by more dark choc almonds - I just wont be able to stop myself until the bag has gone. I had 4 last night and really did not need any of them and should have been satisfied with 2, might try that. I know they are not awful in small quanties but I don't want to re-start the lifetime 'sweet after savoury' habit that I broke on BC

SayraT · 09/04/2015 18:47

I've had two breakfasts the last couple of mornings. I've been staying at my bosses house looking after his cats then doing about 8 hours pet sitting (cat feeding and dog walking) other places so I've been busy.

This week I've been up at 0530/0600 had first breakfast then ridden the horse, fed all the cats then its 1000 so I have 2nd breakfast then dog walking at 1100 then back at 1500 so lunch then and feeding cats again at 1700, getting dinner on now.

I don't always have a 2nd breakfast but I've felt I needed it this week!

Dark chocolate almonds sound lovely, where did you get them.....maybe you shouldn't tell me, I probably shouldn't buy any!

sayra getting up earlier definitely makes a difference doesn't it? I either eat more simply because I am awake for longer that day or crave a bit of something to keep me going when I get tired. If I slept 18 hours a day I would be thin as a rake!

Choc almonds are good and 2-3 are plenty, got them in my local supermarket but about 4,000 miles from you so sorry that's not very helpful. dark choc walnuts are even better taste and carbs wise if you ever see them. they are $$$ though, you know I might just make my own, how hard can it be ???? I guess I could eat a walnut and piece of dark choc at the same time or have walnut butter on a sq of dark choc instead. Hmm you can tell it is afternoon slump time for me can't you? back to work Lex, back to work

nappyaddict · 09/04/2015 20:34

I have restarted my attempt at BC this week. Do any of you have any ideas of what to have after dinner instead of dessert? The only thing that satisfies me is a proper coffee (we have a bean to cup perculator) with cream but I don't want to have too much caffeine so am trying to think of other things.

BIWI · 09/04/2015 20:38

Why do you need anything?

nappyaddict · 09/04/2015 20:42

I seem to get hungry about 2 hours after dinner.

HemanOrSheRa · 09/04/2015 20:47

Dinner tonight was Thai Meatballs with peanut sauce, salad (oily dressing) and cauli rice which I stir fried in the remaining oil/butter from frying the meatballs. Yum!

CharlieSierra · 09/04/2015 20:47

Hello all. I've been back on the wagon since Tuesday and I'm drawing a veil over the previous week and a half Blush. Will go and read the thread now, but glad to be back!

PseudoBadger · 09/04/2015 20:56

Evening all. A good day today.
Breakfast - 3 rashers streaky, 2 fried eggs.
Lunch - chicken breast, broccoli and spinach with lashings of butter and mayo
Dinner - 2 x burgers with cheddar, uber-camp coleslaw, lettuce, cucumber, cherry toms.
2 x coffee with cream, lots of water.
I'm back in the zone, must remember and bottle this feeling.

PlayNice · 09/04/2015 21:00

Breakfast: scrambled eggs
Lunch: smoked salmon and halloumi salad
Dinner: Mediterranean fish stew with prawns, monkfish, leeks, tomatoes, celery and shallots.
Snacks: natural yogurt, almond milk, cottage cheese.

Exercise: 6-7 miles walked (14,000 steps). Partially to get this bloody storage box which I've got home to discover has a cracked wheel so will have to return. Grr.

I just want to be smug for a second and say how nice my skin looks and how energetic I feel on this w.o.e. Normally when I do stuff that people says makes their skin go nice (hot yoga, massage, detox), mine gets worse, and I have to grind my teeth and bear it. It's so good to finally find something my skin doesn't hate (even if it has taken 6 weeks).

lbnblbnb · 09/04/2015 21:06

B: 2 coffees with cream
L: 3 vegetarian sausages, onion, mushrooms, Mayo
D: roast veg, feta, olives, basil, garlic and chilli with roast butternut squash instead of pasta.
s: a flipping doughnut! It was given to me as a thank you for a revision session I ran today, but I didn't have to eat the damn thing. I looked at the packet afterwards - 30g of carbs. I suppose I can only compare it to the amount of carbs I would have eaten previously. I am making progress!

camper101 · 09/04/2015 21:10

B - nothing; trying to see if I can do some intermittent fasting
L - 1.5 slices corned beef, slice cooked chicken, large dollop of coleslaw, chunk of cheddar, a large vine tomato sliced, with some fresh basil, and EVO.
D - pan-fried duck breast, Brussels sprouts with butter, roasted cauliflower with shallots and cumin in olive oil, salad with garlic vinaigrette (home-made)
couple of squares of 76% cocoa chocolate

minibmw2010 · 09/04/2015 21:19

I have to say I was dubious about the Coconut oil but it's ok! As long as I well ventilate the kitchen when using it Smile Did a big pork chop in it and green beans doused in butter. V nice

BIWI · 09/04/2015 21:29

There are two kinds of coconut oil, IME - those that taste coconutty (which seem to be the really expensive ones), and those which are tasteless. The KTC brand is one of the latter ones, and you can find it in Sainsbury's world food aisle.

Romeyroo · 09/04/2015 21:34

D was Thai Green chicken made with coconut milk, and broccoli, mushroom and spinach. It was really nice.

So I have done my best to take on the advice - I think I had started eating salad instead of green veg as it was sunny (and I like it!) but i wasn't thinking about lettuce not being as filling.

I don't know - it is such a balance, you need to watch portion sizes to lose when you get near goal (I think), but if you don't eat enough fat, you don't lose. I think whoever mentioned flax triggering cravings may be right, but I am super-sensitive to carbs, it seems.

Romeyroo · 09/04/2015 21:36

I have got the Tiana coconut oil but also used Lucy Bee; I am not sure I have noticed a huge difference.

I actually bought a proper coconut the other week. It is sitting in my fridge as I have no idea what to do with it (and I keep forgetting about it)

DramaAlpaca · 09/04/2015 21:42

Heman I see you liked the Thai Meatballs - I told you they were good Grin

Tonight for dinner I had homemade beef burgers with salad and loads of dressing. Didn't even miss the bun!

minibmw2010 · 09/04/2015 21:43

It smelled strong while cooking with it but tasted ok. It's a big jar so I'm guessing it'll take me a while to get through it Smile

Gcalgske · 09/04/2015 21:49

I love real coconut meat romey, I used to eat it for breakfast. A tiny piece (15g) keeps me full for ages although I have to drink lots of water with it.
In terms of coconut oil I use biona. They have two versions - cuisine which is lightly steamed to remove the coconut taste and extra virgin which has a strong coconut taste. I use the cuisine in savoury cooking where coconut taste wouldn't be right and ev in sweet cooking or curries and stuff where coconut tastes good. I like bullet proof coffee or chai tea too made with the ev too. Have been known to eat it from the spoon when a low fat day has inadvertently happened.

Gcalgske · 09/04/2015 22:23

Food for today:
B: two HB eggs mashed in cup with 25g butter
L: tuna with shallot, radish, cherry tomato, Mayo, grain mustard. Served on cucumber slices.

readyforno2 · 09/04/2015 22:58

Food today
B coffee with cream

D chicken in a cream sauce with carrots and broc (was at my df's hence the carrots.. In my defence there was also a huge dollop of mash which I didn't even look at)
