The inbetween BC BC for those who didn't do as well as they should on the real BC

SayraT · 06/04/2015 18:41

Ok, some of us (me) didn't do very well on the real actual BC and some others just feel the need to have a little extra push before the next real BC so this is our inbetween BC BC Grin

I'll start, I'm currently 222 lb and want to be 217 lb by the start of the real BC (11th May). I will be recording my food daily to keep on track, I am also going to weigh daily.

Food

B: Flax wrap with butter, coffee with cream
L: M&S salad, ff yog
S: S&V peanuts (none left now so I'll have normal nuts or none at all)
D: Cauli-rice with hot smoked salmon

Went to bed at 10.30, and now I'm wide awake.com. grrrr.

That will teach me to have a drink.

trash I'm wheat intolerant and I've never had lamb (ex veggie) so I would have just had to have a plate of lentils!

Everyone down wind of trash tomorrow. Thanks hope you don't suffer too bad.

I cooked my 1st pork joint the other week and managed to make the crackling just right. It was yummy. Even dp was impressed and he's a hard task master when it comes to food.

Bought another one for tomorrow, hopefully I don't mess up, as it is usually 50/50. Grin but dp has been away since Monday and doesn't get back till Thursday, so only the kids too noticed. and they won't Smile

Romeyroo · 19/04/2015 06:08

sass, I hope you got back to sleep, this is my second time without DC so I was not sleeping well either. I am sure I will get used to the time to myself but at the moment it feels weird. My head just buzzes with everything. Hope you got some sleep. I need coffee!

Dumdedumdedum · 19/04/2015 06:34

Good morning, all! Hope you all have lovely Sundays, wherever you are!

Do you speak Welsh yourself, then LaiLoo? Is 30 years long enough not to miss the country where you were born (and possibly grew up)? I've been an English ex-pat for over 20 years and even though there is no family left there, it is still home in my heart (at the risk of sounding awfully twee, sorry) Hmm.

I need to say thank you to FurryDogMother Flowers who put up a simple recipe for a crustless quiche in Jan 2013 and who doesn't seem to be on these boards any more. I decided it was time to start cooking on this diet and found her recipe which is easy and tasty. Looking forward to it for breakfast. Parmesan crisps with cayenne still going well here, too!

I seem to have lost 5lbs in less than a week on this WOE. I am so thrilled and again, want to thank everyone for putting all this in place, and for their support. Flowers Flowers Flowers
Fingers crossed, something has "clicked" for me and I am hoping to lose weight and keep it off. I hope it's not too early in the process to say this! Other low-carb "diets" I have followed thus far have been so comparatively boring, this is so different I have started cooking (my favourite past-time) again Smile

Thank you again! Flowers Flowers Flowers

sassandfaff · 19/04/2015 07:25

romey got back to sleep just after 4am. I look like the living dead this morning though. Startled myself in the mirror!

I definitely sleep better when dp is here and without a drink!

I watched shut ins on 4od last night. It was on in Jan (I don't have a TV) did anyone see it? It was about a man and a woman (not related) who were shut in their house because of how big they are. He was 39 stone and she was 47 I think. She married a feeder who she met online and put on 8stone in 2 years.

Romeyroo · 19/04/2015 08:02

Confused no, I didn't see that, it sounds horrendously sad - I have never heard of a feeder, and I am not sure I want to.

I weighed myself at 3amHmm and can report that I weighed a full five pounds more than I did at 6am, how bizarre is that?

Romeyroo · 19/04/2015 08:03

The 6am weight was my normal average weight, btw, I didn't have a five pounds whoosh

Dumdedumdedum · 19/04/2015 08:15

Romeyroo Really odd that, isn't it? I quite often get up in the middle of the night and passing the scales, weigh myself. When I weigh again when I get up a few hours later, there is always a difference (lower).

MrsKoala · 19/04/2015 08:16

Poor you Sass. ds2 had me up at 5.30 so it gave me an opportunity to peruse the internet and get some ideas for you. Let me know what you think of these ideas.

Capsule wardrobe = Jacket/blazer, Trench/mac, Overcoat, Parka, Jeans, Smartish trousers, a few flexible dresses, tops/shirts.

Jackets - i find one or 2 smart jackets which go over most things are really handy to smarten up an outfit. Don't go too long tho as with your height the material will swamp you.

I would recommend Reiss for blazers and jackets i think they are classic enough to last but also can be cut sharply and quite on trend.

Tailored

Linen

more linen

I also think trench coats/macs are a must for a capsule wardrobe. With your colouring a classic beige may suit you. But be careful with shape and length. The other thing to watch is if it's double breasted and you are ample of bosom and broad shouldered it can draw attention to that area - if you get a double breasted one i wouldn't do it right up to the top and leave it open to give you a deep v shape drawing the eye down. Or you could find a single breasted trench (which is what i would advise to go for - less material to flap about and more simple looking).

I rate hobbs for coats and trenches so i would keep an eye on their website for sales

Not double breasted

Pale blue (i really love this one but might be too fussy round the boobage)

Lovely but pricey

Jeans

AAAaaahhh i can't find jeans for me so am in no way qualified to help anyone else. If you like skinnies Uniqlo and New Look get good press.

high waisted which is great to hold in a wobbly tummy.

I also very much like the cut on these (especially if you like that jeans, shirt/t-shirt and a blazer look) relaxed skinny or these .

Cigarette pants

Jigsaw black

Dresses

good colour might be too flouncy tho.

dark pink

pink

If you are broad shouldered, big boobed and like pencil skirt silhouette i can not recommend a bentley ruched dress enough. I have 3 Blush Diane Von Furstenberg ones. They are super super flattering and come in a variety of rich colours. I also have 2 bentley ruched tops to wear with skirts and keks. Get a bra with straps wide apart and some control tights for your tum and you will be a sex goddess. i promise. Wink

nappyaddict · 19/04/2015 08:31

lexloofah how do make mayo? i have a jug blender but not a stick blender.

dumdedum what are parmesan crisps?

BIWI/Sayra My friend has started LC but she says she is not doing it at the weekends. I explained her body would have to get back into ketosis every time as her body would start burning carbs again, not fat. How long does it take the body to get back into ketosis and start burning fat instead of carbs?

sassandfaff · 19/04/2015 08:34

Oh mrsk I love loads!

The Daniella blazer is gorgeous!!
I love the fit of the next jeans.
The £600 single breasted coat is stunning, but way out my prize range, but I will keep the style in mind and see if I can find a cheaper look alike.

I like the green dress too.

I can see what you mean about the last dress, but I really think my belly will be front and centred in that style of dress. Although I could be wrong.

I do like the cigarette pants too.

Thank you. Thanks

I'm going to have another look now. X

sassandfaff · 19/04/2015 08:37

The woollen wrap dress is beautiful. Definitely my favourite.

Dumdedumdedum · 19/04/2015 08:50

MrsKoala - loving that DvF Bentley ruched dress but they don't appear to be available any more. In any case, the sizing is such that I would have to go down by 5 sizes to have a vague chance of fitting into them. But they are very beautiful and something to aspire to!

Dumdedumdedum · 19/04/2015 09:05

nappyaddict - Parmesan crisps are divine! Grin And so simple! They can be used just as snacks or accompaniments to soups or spinach salad.

Preheat oven to 180degC, Gas Mark 4.

Line a baking tray with baking parchment, greaseproof paper or a silicone liner (I have ordered one from Amazon since discovering this recipe!).

Finely grate 100gm Parmigiano Reggiano. Add a bit of cayenne pepper, paprika or chilli powder and mix in, to taste.

Either plonk 2 tablespoons of grated cheese at a time on the prepared baking tray, or take a circular shaper of some kind and use it to make more regular shapes with the 2 tbs of cheese at a time. Leave a bit of space for the crisps to spread out.

Whack them in the oven and bake for about 6 minutes till they've spread out and have browned but not burnt. Take them out and leave them to cool for 20 minutes till they're cool enough to scarf down while warm and remove them from the tray with a palette knife. They will be nice and crispy by then.

Very low carb. Makes between 10 and 12, I find. They don't keep because they get eaten immediately.

Dumdedumdedum · 19/04/2015 09:06

Oops, sorry, meant to say, you don't need to add seasoning at all, can just make Parmesan crisps with the grated cheese.

Preminstreltension · 19/04/2015 09:57

Love that green asos dress. Might have to give that go for a wedding later this year.

This is very much along the lines of the Reiss jackets. I bought it yesterday and it's a fab cut. www.marksandspencer.com/buttonsafe-pure-linen-easy-to-iron-1-button-blazer/p/p22371076?colour=White

Romeyroo · 19/04/2015 10:03

I have banned myself from buying any clothes as I need to spend money on the house, garden and holiday so I am ignoring the clothes chat!

I have just made flaxseed pancakes for B - they are usually too carby for me so need to take care rest of day but trying to get myself a bit back on track with three meals a day as food has felt chaotic the last few days

BabsUnited · 19/04/2015 10:14

Are these sausages too carby? Don't know what to aim for with sausages

MrsKoala · 19/04/2015 10:45

Romey - i hear you with that, we are saving to have loads of work on the kitchen which is why i am shopping vicariously thru others on the internet Grin

Babs - they seem a bit high i wouldn't buy them again if i were you. I get these from Sainsbury.

Romeyroo · 19/04/2015 10:52

Grin MrsK, I enjoyed the recent school run dress thread on S&B for the same reason because I don't need a school run dress in my life - Though, on reflection, I still managed to buy a maxi dress from a link there with no idea when I will wear it or actually if it will suit me or if maxi dresses are a hideous fashion crime...

I have the eating sort of under control; I am clearly still working on the spending

BabsUnited · 19/04/2015 11:02

Ah thanks Mrs - I ate one anyway whoops. One won't hurt. We are moving very soon so trying to get through freezer stuff, most of which is low fat rubbish from when I was on slimming world Angry

BerylStreep · 19/04/2015 11:25

MrsK those sausages look good. I will look out for them at Sainsburys, although I am in NI and they have different ranges. I have never been able to find the Black Farmer sausages that everyone raves about.

I'm going to have a cookathon today, as I'm finding I am knackered by teatime, and not making great choices. I am suffering a bit from a virus that has got into my chest, and it has really knocked me out.

This week's offerings are going to be:

IPD lamb curry - this is excellent and will hopefully do 2 nights
Zoe Harcombe pork & apricot salad - also 2 nights (only a tiny bit of apricot)
Zoe Harcombe tarragon chicken, using baby leeks & mushrooms rather than shallots. Also 2 nights.

Am going to make up some tuna mayo with green peppers for taking to work for lunch.

Anyone got an idea what to do with 2 egg whites which are languishing in the fridge? I hate throwing things out, but can only think of pavlova (not remotely lc)

Just about to have poached eggs & smoked salmon with hollandaise sauce.

DarkEvilMoon · 19/04/2015 11:42

Morning. massive wobble yesterday. Massive :(
Sat food: 3 eggs scrambled, 1 packet jelly babies. struggling to eat as despite pain killers the pain is enough to make me feel sick. I had words with myself and for today's road trip I have peanuts and baby bels to pick.
Just had 2 eggs scrambled will need to consider what to do for tea when I get in at 10pm, suspect it will be eggs again Will be very glad to be tortured by the physio tomo. Very glad!

HemanOrSheRa · 19/04/2015 11:54

I am looking at the 'clothes chat' out of the corner of my eye. My Dad is getting married in Sept, DS is sort of his 'Best Man' in the civil ceremony. As DS is 10 I will have to supervise so no hiding for me. I need a gorgeous outfit. I'm not going to look yet as although I've only lost 5 or 6lbs my body shape is shifting Confused. I bought a cheapo top a couple of weeks ago that fit me nicely. It is now baggy, except around my 'rump'. But we won't go there.....

2 egg whites Beryl? Can you add them to an omelette/frittata or freeze them for using another time to dip chicken in before coating in parmesan?

I have just made ham and cheese breakfast muffins. I had 2 with tomato, avocado, watercress and rocket, dressing and mayo. Lovely Smile.

DramaAlpaca · 19/04/2015 13:05

I love that ASOS kimono dress in green, I think I may have to buy it. Thanks MrsK Smile

Dark you poor thing. Hope the physio sorts you out tomorrow Flowers

StuntNun · 19/04/2015 13:26

Beryl the Marks & Spencer 95% sausages and chipolatas are the lowest carb ones I have found in Northern Ireland. DH made his own and they were lovely as well as very low carb but I'm not sure it was really worth all the effort.
