The inbetween BC BC for those who didn't do as well as they should on the real BC

SayraT · 06/04/2015 18:41

Ok, some of us (me) didn't do very well on the real actual BC and some others just feel the need to have a little extra push before the next real BC so this is our inbetween BC BC Grin

I'll start, I'm currently 222 lb and want to be 217 lb by the start of the real BC (11th May). I will be recording my food daily to keep on track, I am also going to weigh daily.

Food

B: Flax wrap with butter, coffee with cream
L: M&S salad, ff yog
S: S&V peanuts (none left now so I'll have normal nuts or none at all)
D: Cauli-rice with hot smoked salmon

As your fajitas.

sassandfaff · 16/04/2015 13:00

tortillas

Or you could try these?

babygiraffe86 · 16/04/2015 13:05

Oh brill,

thanks for those ideas. I'll try the lettuce leaves, usually just shred it on the side so didn't even cross my mind to use it as a wrap.

sometimes all it needs is other peoples input for fresh ideas Smile

Dumdedumdedum · 16/04/2015 13:09

Sass, thanks for the help. I hadn't realised that's how the LCHF Bootcamp was formulated (doh!Confused), great stuff not having to calculate things.
BabsU, I can only get 100 or fewer messages per page, nowhere can I find a link to change it to 1000 Sad. What is wrong with me?!
Has anyone any ideas for quick and easy low carb snacks that don't involve preparation? I am eating far too many nuts at the moment and it's not good, as I can't stop at a couple. I love eggs and probably eat too many, so would like something different and I hate celery, so that's not possible. Any other ideas would be warmly welcomed, thank you!

babygiraffe86 · 16/04/2015 13:25

dumde

olives and feta or ham rolled up with cottage cheese are my go-to snacks at the min.

I'm not even snacking because i'm hungry, it's purely habitual but am slowly breaking the habot

sassandfaff · 16/04/2015 13:29

Olives, pork scratchings, kale chips, green bean chips, 85% dark choc, tesco extra thick cream (just need a spoon) milano salami, Greek yogurt,

BIWI · 16/04/2015 13:41

Dum

Scroll to the top of the page and underneath where it says 'Mumsnet Talk; in bold black letters, you'll see a link to 'customise'. Scroll down the options, and you'll see where you can change the number of posts per page

LaiLoo · 16/04/2015 14:07

Hello. I'm doing low/medium carb and have already seen weight loss this week. I really want to make this a complete way of eating, not a diet. If I diet then I end up overeating and that's horrible. I have a history of disordered eating so have to be careful. Hope you don't mind me joining even though I'm not doing strict bootcamp? Confused Smile

Dumdedumdedum · 16/04/2015 14:08

BabyG, Sass - loving those suggestions, forgot about olives, love double cream. Is full fat creme fraiche OK, sometimes can't get double cream here?
BIWI Thanks, but the customise option only gives me a max of 100 posts per page and I can't change the figure to 1000. I wonder why?

BIWI · 16/04/2015 14:08

You are very welcome, LaiLoo!

Any questions, or support you need, just shout - there's usually always someone here who will be able to help.

LaiLoo · 16/04/2015 14:15

Thank you so much. I'm early fifties and want to ensure that I stay as healthy and fit and supple as I can. Would like to lose a stone, maybe two, will see. Clothes are already loser. Can you link me to bootcamp light possibly? Thanks again BIWI Your lovely. Smile Thanks

LaiLoo · 16/04/2015 14:18

I mean the bootcamp light eating method. Smile

sassandfaff · 16/04/2015 14:19

dum it's not double cream, it's extra thick, that stays on the spoon. Double cream is only just thicker than milk.

And trust me on this- it has to be tesco.

O.M.G it is devine.

sassandfaff · 16/04/2015 14:20

Divine!

nappyaddict · 16/04/2015 14:26

bit embarassing but i have been getting quite hard poos on a morning. I thought it would be the opposite with drinking 3 litres of water!!

trashcanjunkie · 16/04/2015 14:32

lex I have Lady Grey teabags. I wonder if that makes any difference. And my tea is normally really weak.

Scales stayed the same from yesterday, which absolutely fine - daily weighing and all.

Breakfast this morning was four slices of ham with three slices of cheese, some mayonnaise and a snippet of giant spring onion. And of course, tea with cream.

Got my water on the go, have sent the dcs out to the park for a bit of fresh air. Had to scrape fox shite off clients dog this morning. He'd rolled in it, and got it all through his collar and lead. Utterly stinking. Bleaurgh.

Been to hospital this morning. Am being fitted with a brace for my floppy ankle. It looks like a frigging caliper. I'm going to look and see if I can buy something better online.

Did some online shopping - got vitamin e for my scars, vitamin d3 for my whole self, and a Barry M eyebrow pencil. Got db's 40th to attend in a week and a half. Still need an outfit. Gah....

LaiLoo · 16/04/2015 14:53

Sass what do you have with your thick cream?

BIWI · 16/04/2015 14:56

nappy try upping your fat and see if that makes a difference. (And a bit of extra water probably won't hurt!)

Are you eating enough veg/salad do you think?

DramaAlpaca · 16/04/2015 14:59

Thanks sass, I just needed to get that off my chest. I feel better now Smile. Totally getting the northern working town lass thing - that's me all over - it's far from salami & olives I was raised.

I discovered at lunchtime that scrambled egg made with coconut oil & butter is utterly lush. So light & fluffy. Had a couple of slices of ham on the side. I've come a long way from thinking I had to have two slices of toast with it to feel full.

sassandfaff · 16/04/2015 15:01

lailoo A spoon!

Honestly, it's that good.

Everyone else's thick cream, gets mixed in with my Greek yogurt.

It would be sacrilege to do that to tesco's Wink

HemanOrSheRa · 16/04/2015 15:05

Couldn't have put it better myself Drama! Interesting you say about learning to eat only when you're hungry too.

Thanks for the pep talk sass! You are right and I've been preparing for this for a long time. I was going to join the Jan bootcamp, after doing some reading around the subject. But decided the time wasn't right, I did dry January instead to tackle my attitude towards alcohol and have kept going with that. I read 'The Diet Trap' last week before starting Bootcamp Rules. I've spent the last 8 years or so paying £5 a week to a slimming club only to not really lose much weight. 2 stone. When I was reading the book there were parts where I became furious. Of course low fat high carb 'diets' don't work long term, they can't! And it's not just about losing weight. I'm 43 and want to get as healthy and as comfortable in my own skin as I can, as I hurtle towards my 50's!

nappyaddict · 16/04/2015 15:36

BIWI I am eating the same amount of veg as I always have but a lot more food so as a percentage of food intake my veg intake percentage will have decreased if that makes sense.

I never really ate breakfast before. I am now but finding I am not having much veg with breakfast. Saturday was a brie and ham 3 egg omelette. The last 2 days has been 3 slices of ham smothered in brie and put under the grill and 3 fried eggs. Today was bacon, fried eggs, scrambled egg, mushrooms and half a tomato. I say breakfast but I didn't eat it until 12pm. I grabbed a punnet of raspberries on the walk to work this morning as I didn't have time to prepare and sit down with anything so I had those about 8.30am.

The other thing is where as before I would not bother eating dinner upon returning home at 11pm I feel like I have to cos of starting BC even though I'm not really hungry or fancying anything. I often bring home leftover small whole chickens (think Harvester size or Morrisons ready cooked ones) and I have eaten
one of those on their own Monday night and last night.

minibmw2010 · 16/04/2015 15:48

What I'm finding really interesting about this WOE is that although I'm not noticing a big weight loss yet (it's only week 2), I'm genuinely not missing potatoes, bread or pasta and I really like them !! I'm also def noticing less bloating and what feels like less bloating in my tummy. ??

BabsUnited · 16/04/2015 16:38

I'm not craving them either mini, it's weird isn't it. I've had a few moments of 'i could just run in this shop and eat a big choc bar' I think I've seen enough results on the scale, even on day 8, to put me off (I think I'm 5lbs down). I don't crave choc/potatoes/pasta anymore, and I think I'm on the verge of breaking the habit too. I know it's early days, but it really feels like it. It's actually quite exciting!

TheHappyCamper · 16/04/2015 16:43

Thanks for the welcome Smile

I do genuinely feel like I was 'meant' to eat this way. It's quite shocking really. Why have we been lied to all these years? I am not missing any carbs really, maybe bread a tiny bit but not much

I too am a Northern lass. My MIL thinks I'm posh because we have Lurpack. If she saw what I was eating she literally would think I have lost my mind!

Nappy - I am the same height as you. (Always thought I was 5'4 1/2 ish but it turns out I've lost an inch or was wrong all these years! (I also have a very small frame and tiny boobs, so an extra stone or so really shows on me).

Today I ate:
B: 2 scrambled eggs with butter and double cream, 2 rashers streaky bacon and 1 sausage (
