SayraT · 06/04/2015 18:41

Ok, some of us (me) didn't do very well on the real actual BC and some others just feel the need to have a little extra push before the next real BC so this is our inbetween BC BC Grin

I'll start, I'm currently 222 lb and want to be 217 lb by the start of the real BC (11th May). I will be recording my food daily to keep on track, I am also going to weigh daily.

Food

B: Flax wrap with butter, coffee with cream
L: M&S salad, ff yog
S: S&V peanuts (none left now so I'll have normal nuts or none at all)
D: Cauli-rice with hot smoked salmon

Just marking place, going to read whole thread later Smile

LexLoofah · 14/04/2015 18:29

sass [big grin] at dunking in soup, was planning exactly that this week after spying the scone recipe on the thread, so proud that my DCS who have spent about 3 days of their lives in the NW in total are Dunkers of toast, bread and biscuits so obvs doing my best to pass on their cultural heritage !

b - courgette and mushroom omlette incl cream, cuppa
L - salmon with pesto over spinach with oil dressing, was going to be fried salmon and buttery spinach but the power is out so had to use the BBQ instead

So long as I am not hungry later think I will skip dinner again or have a small LC snack, maybe some Greek yog

sassandfaff · 14/04/2015 18:45
Grin

Do you want me to send you a uncle Joe's mint balls package for them? Wink

LexLoofah · 14/04/2015 18:56

Sorry about the grin fail, not used to doing this on my phone but only way while power is out

Dear god I love uncle joes, always
Get some when we are in Florida as supermarkets there have them

Hopefully Photo attached showing how desperate I am for a cup of tea

nappyaddict · 14/04/2015 18:57

Doing pulled beef brisket for tea with roasted veg. what else goes with it? would normally have coleslaw.

nappyaddict · 14/04/2015 19:01

trashcanjunkie 106 is a fab weight Grin what is your target weight or are you at maintenance now?

HemanOrSheRa · 14/04/2015 19:04

Evening!

I have discovered The Real Pork Crackling Company Golden Pork Crunch scratchings. They are like big fat porky quavers. Not quite as satisfying as their normal scratchings because they haven't got the soft fatty bit on them. But still very nice. Low carb

LexLoofah · 14/04/2015 19:07

Nappy you can still have coleslaw if you make it with low carb mayo ( easy to make yourself ) don't go mad with the Portion and sub shallot instrad of onion, no carrots or maybe small amount can use green cabbage add in something like shaved fennel, celeriac, radish or turnip - some people put vinegar in I like caraway seeds but meat and
roasted veg sounds fine as it is too

SayraT · 14/04/2015 19:11

Heman me too! I love the Golden crunch ones as I don't like the soft bit in the middle. It seems that only Asda sell them?

Food Today

B: Two eggs fried in butter, three rashers of bacon, coffee with cream
L: Egg mayo salad
D: Cheese omelette (haven't taken any meat out of the freezer).
S: RM chocolate (15g carbs), pork scratchings

Feeling rubbish the past day or two. I was ill in February and this feels the same, I'm puffed out just going up the stairs Sad Not managed to do any exercise this week as I don't have the energy to ride, hoping that I feel better tomorrow.

Change of plan for dinner, I looked in the fridge and I had a leek so I had cheesy leek for dinner instead.

HemanOrSheRa · 14/04/2015 20:26

Sayra I've only seen them in Asda. I'm working my way through the different ones hung up on the racks in the drinks aisle! The Real Pork ones are my fav. Nice and crunchy but without risk of losing a filling! I ought to make my own but if DP sees them there won't be any left and things could turn ugly. Packets are easier to hide Smile.

MrsKoala · 14/04/2015 20:28

I was advised on the S&B boards that those were good jeans Sass - so you pass the 'fashionable test' Wink . But i am not a skinny jean person, i find them too low rise and i can never get them over my freakishly large calves.

BIWI · 14/04/2015 20:35

nappyaddict - if you look at the spreadsheet, on the tabs at the bottom, you'll find a recipe for a lower carb coleslaw as part of the ubercamp

MrsKoala · 14/04/2015 20:43

BIWI are they really 'good fats', i'm not doubting you or anything (well maybe a bit) but i find it hard to believe that eating unlimited amounts of pig lard is healthy. What about my arteries? I can see olive and coconut oil being good, but butter and animal fats? Really?

I understand they keep you full and for the purposes of losing weight are good but should you continue eating them when at a healthy weight?

sassandfaff · 14/04/2015 20:54

mrsk I'm not a skinny jean person either. I've only just started to wear slim fit (always bootcut or flares!) But the plan is to be slim enough to look good in them. Wink

sassandfaff · 14/04/2015 21:02

The theory is mrsk that fats don't clog your arteries by themselves. They need carbs to do that. If they are not stored, then they are processed as energy immediately and will not clog your arteries. If you eat carbs that release insulin, which in turn opens your fat cells, then the fats will be stored, while the body uses the carbs immediately, for energy. Ergo, if you eat too much carbs, your body will always use the carbs for immediate energy and therefore will never burn any fat, choosing to store it all instead. Ie. you get fatter. The only way your body can burn fat, is in the absence of carbs.

Fats are not really bad for you as such, they are only bad for you when mixed with carbs.

nappyaddict · 14/04/2015 21:03

Thanks BIWI I thought about making some coleslaw but only had carrots and shallots in.

Have found this recipe as well. As long as I left out the beetroot and substituted the yoghurt for mayo would that be OK?

BabsUnited · 14/04/2015 21:11

Today's menu:

B: Pack of 'pub style pork scratchings' from tesco, they were low carb and like crisps as no fatty soft bit. Tasty though. And a few strips of Biltong Blush
S: another two handfuls of pistachios as they were on my desk and I was procrastinating doing some work.
L: roast chicken with skin, spinach and Mayo
D: more roast chicken and a creamy fried mix of shallot, courgette, mushrooms, and lardons. Fried in butter and coconut oil.

Not a great day, too much processed meat. Drank about 2.5 litres, need to aim for more tomorrow

DarkEvilMoon · 14/04/2015 21:19

A better day today:
B: 2 sausages, 2 eggs scrambled in butter
L: chicken and broccoli
T: 2 soft boiled eggs
snack: some alpro yoghurt
Drinks: 2 x coffee and 2 ltrs of water plus 3 cups of hot squash (not ideal but sore throat from hell)

Meal times are all up the creek though as ds let me have a lie in after being up with him in the night the other night. Definite perk of half term and much appreciated.

beerbelly · 14/04/2015 21:28

Still learning, but I think today was a good day...

B: Bacon, tomato, mushroom and cheese crustless quiche with black coffee
L: Mackerel, avocado and full fat mayo mixed together with salad
S: Handful of summer fruits mixed with cream
D: Two eggs and three bacon medallions fried in butter
S: A tiny square of 85% cocoa dark chocolate

I also did 30 Day Shred this morning and have been for a (very slow) 30 minute run this evening. Finding the exercise hard going!

Gcalgske · 14/04/2015 21:40

The recipe looks good nappy but red cabbage and red onion are quite carby.
You can use more shallot and green cabbage to keep things lower. If you want you can use a a mix of total full fat and Mayo (it does give a nice sharpness) but I find Mayo with lemon juice just as nice and lower carb.
I normally do:
50g carrot - cut on my mandolin as thin as I can. (4g)
200g shredded green cabbage (6g)
50g shallot sliced on the mandolin again (1.7g)
50g Mayo (hm just egg and olive oil - if you use jarred then count the carbs) (0g)
Tbsp lemon juice (1g)
Tsp grain mustard (depends on the brand - 1g)
25ml double cream (0.7g)

Does 2-3 meals at 10.6g carbs for the whole recipe. You can add radish, celeriac, herbs as you want but they would alter the carb count.

Gcalgske · 14/04/2015 21:44

Today's food
B: BPC
L: smoked salmon, 1/2 avocado, cucumber, Mayo, mustard, capers.
D: 2 BF sausages, roasted asparagus with olive oil and lemon dressing
S: blue cheese and butter on cucumber

trashcanjunkie · 14/04/2015 21:49

Oh nappy bless you pet! I hate to break it to you, but that's my weight in kilos not pounds! I have a good four stone to loose Grin I think if I was 106lbs I might be in hospital!! My goal weight is 11 stone. Can't be arsed to work it out in kilos or pounds, but it's achievable, I've done it before so will bloody well do it again.

We are having take away for dinner tonight. Not the tuna steaks I'd planned as they got left in the freezer. We have ordered tandoori lamb chops, chicken and king prawns. I ordered cauliflower and bhindi bhaji (sp?) as side dishes, and we are going to be very careful with portions, and have half tonight then half for lunch tomorrow. I'm one of them dirty buggers who eats the salad in a bag that comes with it Grin

Shopping day tomorrow, so will stock up on veg mainly, as got freezer full of meat products still.

MrsKoala · 14/04/2015 21:52

Oh no Sass, so does that mean i'm slowly bumping DH off by giving him my fatty dinners AND carbs? (also DS1). And if i start introducing more carby food (veg like beets and sweet potato occasionally, some fruits, some pulses and some oats) that i should reduce the fats?
