The inbetween BC BC for those who didn't do as well as they should on the real BC

Ok, some of us (me) didn't do very well on the real actual BC and some others just feel the need to have a little extra push before the next real BC so this is our inbetween BC BC Grin

I'll start, I'm currently 222 lb and want to be 217 lb by the start of the real BC (11th May). I will be recording my food daily to keep on track, I am also going to weigh daily.

Food

B: Flax wrap with butter, coffee with cream
L: M&S salad, ff yog
S: S&V peanuts (none left now so I'll have normal nuts or none at all)
D: Cauli-rice with hot smoked salmon

I have 17 days until I go on holiday and know will find BC'ing difficult in tenerife. Am in the process of writing up a meal plan for the next 17 days though as I seem to only struggle when I don't know what to have. If it's written down then I'm usually quite strict with myself.

Struggling to cut down on cheese too which is annoying.
weighed in at 2lbs heavier today but it is the totm end of this week so was expecting that.

Breakfast is one I do find difficult as its usually on the go, in the car on the way to work or something. used to be belvita or nutri grain and as they're not allowed i seem to have gotten myself stuck in a habit of ham rolls with cottage cheese, any other ideas for an on the go brekkie at all?

Gcalgske · 14/04/2015 10:44

Anyone use a nutrininja or magic bullet or nutribullet?
I use a bamix but smoothies aren't quite smooth. I've seen a cheap good deal on a magic bullet but I want to know if it really does make smooth smoothies first...

nappyaddict · 14/04/2015 10:46

What is a spiraliser?

SayraT What do we put on the spreadsheet then is it weight and measurements? What measurements do I need to take as I haven't taken any yet.

sassandfaff · 14/04/2015 10:48

This one

The thing I love the most (being the saddo that I am) is how bloody easy it is to clean!

sassandfaff · 14/04/2015 10:51

Yes I've got a magic bullet.

I love it.

Bought it years ago, was invaluable for kids mush when weaning!

Use it to whizz my soups now. Dp uses it for his and kids smoothies.

sassandfaff · 14/04/2015 10:54

I sent my soup though twice once and it was like mousse. Delish

SayraT · 14/04/2015 11:00

nappy if you go onto the spreadsheet via the link in the OP you will see what we have there.

All that is recorded on the spreadsheet is weight, we also have all the info on the BC rules, veggie BC rules, BC Lite, Ubercamp as well as weight conversions and carb counters for some of the allowed fruits and veg.

babygiraffe, why will BCing be difficult in Tenerife? I haven't been there, but elsewhere in the Canaries, and I just loved the selection of cold meats and the veg and salad stuff is good quality. I guess it depends where you are staying and whether you are all inclusive or self-catering, but I am going in June to the Canaries and I think, apart from the temptation of ice-cream, it should be fine. I'm just going to stick to meat, fish and salad-y type things.

babygiraffe86 · 14/04/2015 13:56

romey we are all inclusive and know what i'm like for free cocktails while on holiday :)

we are away 1st to 8th May so BC'ing here until then, and then joining the proper BC when we return.

when I get home today going to make some of those individual quiche things wit no pastry - that's breakfast for the week sorted :)

Romeyroo · 14/04/2015 13:58

Some of us weigh daily - that helps to keep us on track - but you have to be able to cope psychologically with the fact that the scales do go up and down (quite naturally) on a daily basis, and it can feel quite depressing if they go up when you know that you've been following the plan.

Just wanted to say to this - when I started, I did not own scales, I went by a tape measure and I did not weight myself till I had lost four inches from my hips and waist (about two months in). At that point, I was a bit Shock at my weight, so goodness knows what I was when I started. Or maybe I lost inches but not much weight; maybe nothing for weeks and then a lot - no idea what the pattern was; I just know that after the carb flu I felt better, so decided to stick with it.

Since then, the inches have come off more slowly and the weight gain has stalled, bounced and gradually gone down. I bought scales at the beginning of the January bootcamp and am a daily weigher - I actually find it really interesting to see fluctuations (for example, now is TOTM and my weight is up, I know from previous experience that I need to ignore any weights till maybe the weekend). I also can see, as the weight loss has got a lot slower, that it bounces around in a range 3lbs wherever I am, but as long as the average is not going up, then I am not fussing. It makes me less stressed, but I have done this for six months and have had two long stalls of easily a month before things have moved again.

Romeyroo · 14/04/2015 14:01

Aaaah, cocktails, in which case your plan sounds like a good one Smile. Lots of water during the day??

Sorry, I am on my own with the DC so don't drink, hence not thinking of that (I used to love margueritas though and prosecco on ice and gin and tonic... so I get your point).

sassandfaff · 14/04/2015 15:13

I've made cheese scones today (from the recipe thread) and put chopped olives in them.

Then, being northern......... I dipped them in my broccoli soup. Grin

Rounded off with an aldi dark choc mini bar.

Devine.

babygiraffe86 · 14/04/2015 15:36

romey this is due to be our last holiday before ttc so fancy making the most of free cocktails and alcoholic beverages.

i always increase the water intake when away so shouldn't be too difficult i hopes.

I was intrigued by the cheese scones, are they worth a try sass ?

sassandfaff · 14/04/2015 15:52

Easy giraffe

Only 5 ingredients

Almond flour
Cheddar
Baking powder
Paprika egg

And olives if you want to add them.

I don't measure anymore. I just do it by sight now, but the original measurements are on the recipe thread- except she missed the egg out and says in a later post, there was supposed to be an egg. It is quite early in the thread- 1st few pages.

trashcanjunkie · 14/04/2015 16:05

Afternoon ladies. Hiya to any one who's drifted over from the other thread!

Woke up with the hunger of fifty warriors this morning. I've got no dcs and off work this week, so have really enjoyed languishing in my pit every day. Breakfast was two scrambled eggs, with lots off double cream mixed in plus a handful of smoked salmon. I had it with a whole avocado and a spoonful of cottage cheese. The avocado didn't taste very nice with the egg, which it usually does, but I ate it anyway. Had two cups of tea with double cream, and have begun the daily chug through the three litres of water (have them in two water bottles, ones a two ltr ones a ltr)

Just had late lunch of leftover bolognese, which I make using two packs of full fat mince, two tins of chopped tomatoes, a couple of cloves of garlic and on this occasion two spring onions, as we were out of shallots. We had it for dinner last night poured over baked field mushrooms with a bit of grated cheese on top, and I just reheated the last bit and ate it with some leftover broccoli and asparagus spears from night before last. Oh and a slice of Edam on top.

Weighing daily still. This morning I was down to 106. Very pleased with the movement in the right direction.

Went swimming last night, did twenty minutes without stopping. Felt like my foot was going to fall off by then. Really concentrating on my dorsal flection, to strengthen it. Had a lovely sauna afterwards and did a bit of yoga in there. Have been for a gentle stroll round the park this morning, and should be going to the climbing wall this evening if dp and I feel up to it. Both got low level sore throaty colds.

Eek, it's four o clock now, and I need to get my head in the books for a bit!

MrsKoala · 14/04/2015 16:39

Hello all. Hope you are all doing well and enjoying the sunshine. My appetite really plummets when the sun comes out. But i do crave more fruit.

Sorry i haven't kept up wih you all. Had a stressful/difficult last 2 weeks. Went to parents for a week, then pils for 5 days over Easter (which was fucking hellish) then when home had a paed app and they said they feel DS1 is 'presenting as ASD' and we are on the waiting list to be assessed officially - but she seemed fairly certain of the outcome. :(

Anyway, despite all this i have not fallen face first into the wine or carbs and i haven't really craved anything. I have introduced more red/orange stuff to my meals (toms, peppers, berries, carrots) which has cheered me up and i haven't gained any weight back, so i will keep eating them sparingly. I'm thinking of introducing pulses - very sparingly - to see how that works out (just a few beans/chickpeas in a chilli/tagine once a week kind of thing). Or is that crossing over to the dark side?

I feel good about my weight and am back into all my old clothes, so i'm happy to maintain atm.

BIWI · 14/04/2015 16:51

Sorry to hear that your hellish time continues, Mrs K Sad

But well done on not falling face first into carbs Star

Maintaining is the tricky bit. It's worth experimenting, but keep it in moderation to start with. Otherwise before you know it it will be carb city Chez Koala!

minibmw2010 · 14/04/2015 16:56

Early dinner because I'm going power walking with a friend tonight. Pork chop with fat, cooked in coconut oil with a courgette cooked in butter.

MrsKoala · 14/04/2015 17:07

i will, thanks for the advice BIWI. i don't have much carby temptation at home which helps. I only buy those micro rice sachet things which i do for dh and he eats a whole one. I also just buy 1 large baking potato/roll for him to have with dinner. I keep ds1 bread in the freezer and defrost a slice at a time for him. We have cake and chocolate but i don't really like that anyway.

I was wondering tho if it's healthy to carry on eating all this fatty meat and cheese/dairy? Should i be reducing that too? Using less butter and leaner meat etc?

sassandfaff · 14/04/2015 17:28

Thought of you the other day mrsk when I came across a pair if jeans that I love. Was wondering if you would deem them fashionable enough! Grin

Sorry to hear that you are still having a rubbish time. Thanks

MrsKoala · 14/04/2015 17:52

Well don't just wonder - post a link and i'll tell you Wink

Romeyroo · 14/04/2015 17:53

MrsK, really sorry to hear that you have been having a bad time. Do you think the diagnosis may be right? If it is, it may be good to get advice/strategies now while he is little. On the other hand, it may not be ASD and then you know that.

Good question about the fat - I keep meaning to read the Taubes book. I think butter and 'natural' fats (can't remember the proper name) must be healthier than marg and other processed stuff - plus you don't overeat on this WOE. Is the problem not when you end up with fats, sugars and carbs that the problems starts? Not sure though

babygiraffe, goodness me, yes, enjoy the cocktails and the break!

BIWI · 14/04/2015 18:03

No problem with continuing to eat them MrsK - they're good, healthy fats

sassandfaff · 14/04/2015 18:20

. Jeans

Refuse to buy any bigger than a 10! So may have to weight a while. Ha.
