The inbetween BC BC for those who didn't do as well as they should on the real BC

SayraT · 06/04/2015 18:41

Ok, some of us (me) didn't do very well on the real actual BC and some others just feel the need to have a little extra push before the next real BC so this is our inbetween BC BC Grin

I'll start, I'm currently 222 lb and want to be 217 lb by the start of the real BC (11th May). I will be recording my food daily to keep on track, I am also going to weigh daily.

Food

B: Flax wrap with butter, coffee with cream
L: M&S salad, ff yog
S: S&V peanuts (none left now so I'll have normal nuts or none at all)
D: Cauli-rice with hot smoked salmon

I am also trying to conceive. I have an under active thyroid and I think PCOS but GP won't diagnose cos a scan of my ovaries showed one clear ovary and the other with only tiny cysts which are considered normal. Is there anything you can point me to about TTC, PCOS and a low carb WOE?

StuntNun · 13/04/2015 12:39

Nappy I use this cream cheese pancake recipe but leave out the sweetener.

nappyaddict · 13/04/2015 12:51

Thanks StuntNun Are they filling enough for lunch? What do you have with them?

Gcalgske · 13/04/2015 13:51

Oh Nappy that's crap, feel for you. I've been there. Flowers
Your GP really shouldn't be diagnosing you, have you seen anyone from reproductive medicine? It's possible to have the syndrome without having the PCOS 'style' of ovary (they are a specific shape apparently). X

NaturalBlondeYeahRight · 13/04/2015 13:52

Thanks Romey , it's nice to know I'm not alone, that's why I love the group. Feel like I can have a bit of a moan here, talking about this in real life annoys me. Probably as I'm holding some anger with myself and food.
Drinking water like a loon.

nappyaddict · 13/04/2015 13:56

The GP said we couldn't be referred to anyone else until we had been TTC a year. The thing is it's incredibly difficult to TTC when you have no idea when you might ovulate with cycles ranging from 21 to 84 days! I work 3 evenings a week and get home after 11pm so sex every other day what they recommend is impossible if we want a good night's sleep. Keep meaning to order one of those basal thermometers and see if that helps.

StuntNun · 13/04/2015 13:59

Nappy I have the pancakes with butter on.

LexLoofah · 13/04/2015 14:49

1.5 lb off, v happy with that as having some BC lite stuff like the odd berry, a couple of nuts or nut butter and what has turned out to be daily dark choc.

This week will be a challenge as after today am off work for the rest of the week and always find it more tempting to graze at home and drink more tea, hopefully I will be too busy to stray too far, have a v long list of house & relocation stuff to do plus aiming to swim every day and poss do a yoga session. Swam for a bit at the weekend while the kids mucked about in the pool and it was so nice to stretch my shoulders and felt good in my cozzie too

have a good week all

BabsUnited · 13/04/2015 14:55

Ok how bad are pistachios? Just eaten two handfuls

BabsUnited · 13/04/2015 14:55

Anyone have any good snacky-y things that are not cheese or meat?

BabsUnited · 13/04/2015 15:06

argh just checked and pistachios are banned from BC. Booo. I probably had about 13/15. I think so far this week I'm down 5lbs (Shock) so hopefully that won't impede things for next week...

HemanOrSheRa · 13/04/2015 15:08

Lex Thanks for the tip about dill pickles. I bought a big jar today. The did vary quite a bit in carb content. I was shocked. But the ones I have are 2.6g per 100g.

Drama maybe now you know the protein shakes are too carby, your weight will start to go down?

Food today:

B - BPC. Half avocado, hard boiled egg with a drizzle of oil, S & P.

L - cold chicken, salad, a spoonful of leftover coleslaw with dressing and a spoonful of leftover cauli cheese.

D - will be some sort of leftover pork and veg stir fry. I seem to have a lot of leftovers from the weekend.

I'm finding it odd to adjust to not feeling ravenously hungry. I'm used to feeling hungry most of the time, except immediately after eating. It's weird for me to interpret a feeling of being peckish/mild hunger, which I would usually ignore, as that is as bad as it's going to get. If that makes sense?

StuntNun · 13/04/2015 15:24

Babs other snacks are celery, celery with almond butter or pate, hard boiled eggs, olives, almonds, macademias and dark chocolate. I have also been known to have a spoonful of cream or clotted cream. Blush

BabsUnited · 13/04/2015 15:40

oh wow celery with pate, my ultimate dream snack!! thank you Stuntnun. Any particular pates to avoid, any brands particularly low carb?? Am partial to the odd hard boiled hegg and olives also a winner.

Fatstacks · 13/04/2015 15:52

Babs pork scratching!
I like Mr Porkys, the 18g bag is perfect for a quick crunch.
They are only 5p per bag at Jack Fultons.
Don't bother with my local one I buy em out Grin

babygiraffe86 · 13/04/2015 15:52

I've been having a handful of walnuts as a snack so I hope they're allowed.
also celery with peanut butter - it's delicious :-)

BIWI · 13/04/2015 15:56

nappy - the pizza at the top of my blog is a cauliflower pizza. The no pizza pizza really doesn't look like a real pizza at all - it's more a way of getting the flavours/tastes of pizza without a base of any kind.

LexLoofah · 13/04/2015 16:52

Heman I know it is surprising isn't it? I was similarly shocked by wholegrain mustard, obvs some companies like to pad out and add flavour by using sugar/corn syrup etc etc. Def going to try to make my own pickles, just great for when you want something salty and crunchy

BIWI · 13/04/2015 17:13

Not really that surprising, though, when you consider that pickling liquid usually does contain sugar!

Romeyroo · 13/04/2015 17:58

I think the thing I have found most Shock since starting this WOE is the amount of stuff which contains sugar. I read everything now obsessively

minibmw2010 · 13/04/2015 18:06

What would people consider appropriate/ok in terms of how much pâté if they were having a snack? Portion sizes have never been my thing. The pate I bought is 2.6g to 100g. Is that ok or too high?

HemanOrSheRa · 13/04/2015 18:35

It was the variation that shocked me BIWI. The highest carb content of the pickles I looked at was 7.9g per 100g. For what looked like the same product!

I dreamt about you last night BIWI! More of a nightmare, really. I really want raspberries right now Sad and I dreamt we were in some Masterchef type situation. I had to prepare raspberries and cream for everyone but I had to place 5 raspberries just so on top of very precisely whipped cream. You were raging at me for not getting it right. I had to do it over and over again with you screaming at me. It felt night it went on all night! Grin

SayraT · 13/04/2015 19:05

Haha Heman did BIWI have her big stick out? It is common to have strange dreams when you start out LCing I think. A few of us have had nightmares about eating cake before!!

Food Today

B: Fried eggs, coffee with cream
L: Ikea meatballs (7) with salad, ff yog
D: Steak, broccoli and asparagus
S: Babybel, nakd bar (15g carbs), pork scratchings

ready I weighed my meatballs and 6/7 is 100g so that is 4g carbs. I'd normally have that number per portion as I always have them with salad ot courgetti or something.

Whoever mentioned the IPD butter chicken and reminded me I have the book, Thank You!! It is bloody lovely. I had mine with buttered spinach. Tomorrow I'm doing the Thai meatballs as a change from the Gyoza meatballs I normally do.

I am 11 weeks away from my holiday, so hardcore bootcamp started today for me. I wonder if I'll be buying a last minute bikini Smile

trashcanjunkie · 13/04/2015 19:19

mini your questions lead me to suspect you need to brush up on the be rules that BIWI has written, and Sayra has posted a link at the top to.
