The inbetween BC BC for those who didn't do as well as they should on the real BC

SayraT · 06/04/2015 18:41

Ok, some of us (me) didn't do very well on the real actual BC and some others just feel the need to have a little extra push before the next real BC so this is our inbetween BC BC Grin

I'll start, I'm currently 222 lb and want to be 217 lb by the start of the real BC (11th May). I will be recording my food daily to keep on track, I am also going to weigh daily.

Food

B: Flax wrap with butter, coffee with cream
L: M&S salad, ff yog
S: S&V peanuts (none left now so I'll have normal nuts or none at all)
D: Cauli-rice with hot smoked salmon

Resisting the urge to weigh myself daily is tough
but can feel a difference in my jeans and noticing a difference in my skin already, all this water is great
today's menu so far - hand carved ham, which I boiled yesterday, with cottage cheese for breakfast.
KING prawns with marie rose and salad greens for lunch and mussels in white wine cream for tea tonight, not got a massive appetite so this is filling enough but have some celery with peanut butter when I get peckish :-)

BIWI · 12/04/2015 16:10

Babs - it's the bacon, Parma ham and smoked mackerel that I was thinking of

minibmw2010 · 12/04/2015 16:11

Have had MIL staying this weekend so lots of eating out, I've still tried to be sensible though. Smoked chicken salad with a side of green veg yday, steak and salad for dinner with beaunaise sauce. Did slip in an Eton Mess (oops, it was my bday meal). Today has been bacon & eggs for b'fast and a prawn cocktail salad (without rosemarie sauce but with mayo) and tonight I'll have salad leaves, avocado, cheese, chicken and I've bought the extra virgin oil to make my own dressing ?? and a dollop of Mayo

nappyaddict · 12/04/2015 16:22

babygiraffe do you make your own marie rose sauce or a bought one?

nappyaddict · 12/04/2015 16:26

HeManorSheRa

Make a strong fruit tea and steep for 5 mins. Fill a glass with ice and half fill your glass with tea. Top up with fizzy water. I got the ideahere

Fatstacks · 12/04/2015 16:40

I've got a sore throat and had a day in bed yesterday, thinking at least I'm not hungry or eating.

Nasty cough so had plenty of codeine linctus..

Read the label and the bloody thing contains 4.9g sugar per 5ML spoon.

ShockAngry

I could have had a walnut whip Angry

Gcalgske · 12/04/2015 16:57

It's a dressing I made up to up my fat on salads which tastes similar (in my mind anyway) to the pizza express house dressing. Tbsp each of mayonnaise/ olive oil, tsp red wine vinegar, tsp Dijon mustard, shake each or dried oregano/basil, salt and cracked black pepper. Mix. It's yummy on a big bowl of leaves, as a side dish to the fat head pizza it makes me feel very very happy and almost like I've cheated (but I've not)

Gcalgske · 12/04/2015 17:00

fats you get a diabetic cough mixture, it's called robutussin I think. You get it in the chemist, it's full of artificial sweetners but no sugar.

nappyaddict · 12/04/2015 17:01

gcalgske thankyou. do you have a recipe for the fat bomb truffles as well please?

Fatstacks · 12/04/2015 17:09

Thanks Gcal I have the pathetic dry disproportionately painful cough, I deliberately didn't have honey I could kick myself.

Gcalgske · 12/04/2015 17:10

nappy the fat bomb truffles are just chocolate ganache truffles. The term fat bomb is borrowed from our American low carb cousins who use them as a high fat small treat to increase your fat intake. There are loads of recipes online but I like chocolate :) Use very high cocoa chocolate (I use 85%) and cream. You can sweeten them if you want to (not strictly bc legal) but I use a little erythritol and some extract.
I'll post a recipe on the recipe thread.

babygiraffe86 · 12/04/2015 17:12

Make my own nappy tablespoon of helman's mayo, teaspoon of low sugar and low salt ketchup and a pinch of paprika :-) Love it :-)
Hope everyone feels better soon too - tickly coughs are the devils work.

nappyaddict · 12/04/2015 17:16

babygiraffe which ketchup do you use? The lowest carb count for ketchup I have seen is 11.9g per 100g so have always avoided it. The mayo I use is 1.4g per 100g. I wonder if I could make marie rose with tom puree instead of ketchup?

Gcalgske · 12/04/2015 17:17

Fats a gargle with coconut oil is good too!

babygiraffe86 · 12/04/2015 17:21

The one I get is heinz low salt and low sugar - it is 11.9g/100g but I use a 5ml teaspoon of it and very rarely, enjoy prawns with it too much to not use a teeny Teaspoon. The amount of sauce with that and a table spoon of mayo has made enough for me for 2 potions worth (Trying soooo hard to justify it haha)

babygiraffe86 · 12/04/2015 17:22

Puree might be worth a try, ive never tried it any other way to be honest Smile

Gcalgske · 12/04/2015 17:35

Poor fats Flowers

Gcalgske · 12/04/2015 17:40

Tom purée imo is a bit acidic and needs cooked out. What about a bit of passata? I normally have some kicking about. I tend to reduce it by half for pizza topping - it's just seived tomato- I reckon that would be good.

nappyaddict · 12/04/2015 18:09

Will try passata then.

Do you have any chocolate/nut free fat bomb recipes? Worried the chocolate ones will be too high in carbs. Do you know how many carbs are in 1?

HemanOrSheRa · 12/04/2015 18:26

Thanks nappy. I have a teapigs superfruit teabag steeping right now. It's 'orrible as a fruit tea so I'm hoping it will be better as a chilled drink mixed with soda water.

Brunch today (at about 12 Blush) was smoked mackerel fillet, 2 scrambled eggs and a handful of watercress with a splash of viniagrette. A BPC which was yummy and very filling.

I took DS to the cinema this afternoon so missed lunch. I took pork scratchings with me so I wasn't tempted by popcorn. I'm not that hungry right now though I know it's bad to miss a meal. I'm doing a roast now and want to enjoy that.

Dinner will be roast chicken, including skin (v excited!), roasted celeriac, broccoli, kale and some sort of cauli cheese/gratiny type thing. I have double cream and cheddar so I'll put something together with that.

And water, water, lots of water Confused.

nappyaddict · 12/04/2015 18:30

BIWI Have found this recipe for peanut butter fat bombs which are apparently only 0.3g carbs each. Does that sound right as I was a bit dubious about it being that low.

HemanOrSheRa · 12/04/2015 18:46

nappy When I've made chocolate truffles or ganache I use equal quantities of choc and cream. Obviously sweetened with sugar though so that would be left out. Couldn't you add the carb content of the choc and cream together and then divide it by the number of truffles you make? They freeze really well too.

lbnblbnb · 12/04/2015 19:13

Need to check in each day as getting a bit lax. I am vegetarian.
B/L: 2 Quorn sausages, 3 scrambled eggs, grilled onion and mushrooms, but of chipotle paste.
D: asparagus with butter, spinach and ricotta Gnochi with sage butter from the Celia Brooks book. Salad with Avocado on the side
Lots of water, at least 2.5 litres.

Back to work tomorrow, I am going to ask the canteen ladies to make me a salad pot each day with either egg or cheese. Not sure about coleslaw? It has to be portable.

LotusLight · 12/04/2015 19:41

Some people find things like fat bombs good but the trouble is they contain sugar substitutes which keep priming your pump to want sugar and even 85% chocolate has the other 15% junk and sugar in it and secondly how may people on a diet can make 30 portions of something and only eat one? Most people would eat all 30 so might be better to make with the fatted pork rather than the choc bombs if you can....

nappyaddict · 12/04/2015 19:42

LotusLight I have been looking for lemon/vanilla recipes for that reason and was going to omit any sweeteners.
