Morning campers!

You know the drill! Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness for your delectation

So week 3 is fairly typically a bit of a bastard. And I'm afraid to have to tell you all that week 4 is sometimes its best friend.

Don't panic if the scales aren't moving, or even if you're seeing a slight increase. This is totally totally normal for this period of time

Keep focused, make sure you're following the rules - particularly eating the fat and drinking the water - and things should get going again shortly.

If you're struggling, post here rather than dive into the biscuit tin!

Good luck everyone

I had sandwiches Blush

In my defence I was at meeting which ran from 1000 to 1600 (ffs) and took 3 hours to get to, and they laid on lunch. I thought I'd be able to nip out for cheese and olives or something, but there simply wasn't the opportunity. Also lunch was at 1300 and I hadn't eaten since 0600 - and even then it was only a sausage coz I was running late for the train.

Preparation, preparation, preparation

CharlieSierra · 10/02/2015 18:31

BIWI you probably aren't older than me, I'm 58 next week, 5ft 4in and 181 lb. it told me for fast weight loss 650 and 1300ish for maintenance. Will have another look at it later on in case I did something wrong.

BeyondDoesBootcamp · 10/02/2015 18:32

Oh fuck shit bang, i had an ice cream after being so good at lunch Blush
Luckily i wont need dinner now as it was a very late lunch, so hopefully that is enough to rescue the day. And six tonne of water to try to wash it through.

CharlieSierra · 10/02/2015 18:35

All I can say to you 'youngsters' is get it off now before you're so old you have to exist on fresh air to lose weight. Grin

BIWI · 10/02/2015 19:04

Ah. I stand corrected! You are, indeed, older than me. Something I don't get to say often on MN Grin

I'm worried about those calorie counts you're all getting, because that can't possibly be right. And if you were try to eat that few calories, you'd be eating very poorly indeed.

Just had an amazing dinner - chinese stir fried cauli rice i mixed in my weird looking belly pork slices and they were yummy. Loads of fat.

The dinner experience was only spoiled by the fact that DS whilst in the back sling to allow me to have hands to cook - puked all down my back. DD was poorly yesterday and now DS - poor wee mites. Its going to be a long night.

The loads of fat thing is working well. I had a sneaky try on of the trousers of truth and i can do them up but still a considerable muffin top so wont be wearing them just yet. Managed no dairy today and only had 1 coffee.

imustbepatient · 10/02/2015 19:08

Charlie I tried the calculator and got approx 2000 for slow loss, 1800 for medium and 1640 for fast, so definitely try again as hopefully the calculator was playing up the first time you did it! Although I am heavier than you (just a tad...) but not sure it would make that sort of difference in the resulting numbers.

Today I've had

B two HB eggs with butter
L hm guacamole (was delicious) with salami slices turned into crisps in the oven (even more delicious) and a bag of pork scratchings.
D will be pan fried salmon, swede with butter and some sprouts and aubergine.

Yum. Smile

CharlieSierra · 10/02/2015 19:30

Right off to do it again then. Blush I've now admitted my age! I don't look or feel it Grin

MrsHerculePoirot · 10/02/2015 19:31

What is this calculator you are all talking about!

FurFoxAke · 10/02/2015 19:45

Evening all!
Cough is on it's way out thankfully, hope everyone else is ok?

Jeans do up, just, but aren't wearable yet!

B; BPC, cheese and marmite (couple of slices)
D; lamb chops and a load of buttery spinach
T; lamb chops and mashed swede. (To use the pack up)

Now, mashed swede.
I really like it, but it takes ages to cook, and I never seem to get it just right so it mashes Just So.
Any advice?

tartiflette · 10/02/2015 19:46

Urgh just had to have a word with myself as I was prowling round the kitchen looking for trouble... I've had 2 heaped tsp of peanut butter to try and stave off the cravings Hmm

CharlieSierra · 10/02/2015 19:47

Don't look, you will not want to eat!

Right I just did it again and it's the same, I changed my activity level to lightly active after reading the guidelines properly and that gives me 1450 for slow weight loss and 1140 for moderate - so by my reckoning anything resembling a healthy diet means slow loss for me unless I can find a way to significantly up my activity levels.

nowitsenough · 10/02/2015 19:53

For dinner I had the keema recipe from IPD recipe book with mashed buttery cauliflower. Luvverly!

EvaTheOptimist · 10/02/2015 20:13

I think that site is talking balls. Anyway, I don't want to count calories, and I don't even want to count carbs, protein and fat.

Keep on the straight and narrow Tartiflette! Find low-carb snacks...

FurFoxAche swede seems to take longer to cook than potato - so tonight I was doing mashed potato for everyone else and mashed swede for me. But the swede has to go on first! About 35 minutes for the swede? Other than that... Use plenty of butter but don't add any other liquid to mash it? I have no more tips...

Mrsstevejones · 10/02/2015 20:14

I boil the swede for ages like 40 mins and then blitz it with a stick blender. When i have drained it i toss it around in a hot pan for a min or so to dry it out a bit as it can be a bit wet otherwise. Never managed to do the microwave version, its always rock hard even after 20 mins. Then loads of salt, butter and tonnes of fresh black pepper and a splash of cream.

BIWI · 10/02/2015 20:28

Yes, I agree, swede always takes ages to cook properly.

I had lovely swede dish last night. Cut the swede into small chunks, then boil until tender.

Whilst it's cooking, fry two sliced leeks and half a pack of sliced pancetta in lots of butter, till softened. Season with black pepper, salt and chilli flakes.

Mash the swede (I do this with a stick blender) with lots and lots of butter, and then mix in the leeks/pancetta. Gorgeous!

trashcanjunkie · 10/02/2015 20:32

Listen you swede idiots, it cooks fine in twenty minutes, you just have to spend a good hour chopping the bastard thing into dice sized lumps Grin

cymrukernow · 10/02/2015 20:40

Feel like I've eaten too much today-
B- 2 egg spinach pepper muffin
L - 2 more muffins with salad, 2 slices cheddar, one slice cooked chicken, half avocado
S- another slice of cheese, handful peanuts, small tsp marscapone
D- small piece salmon baked with butter and chilli paste, roasted broccoli and pepper and kale chips.

Got another half litre of water to drink before bedtime Blush

Fatstacks · 10/02/2015 20:41

You furriners don't even make sense.

You know I'm from Yorkshire and we call turnips swedes and vice versa.

I've been microwaving turnips.
Sad

ijustwanttobeme · 10/02/2015 20:46

Hi there,

Had a good day today- in as much as not feeling hungry, or craving carbs

B: boiled egg, ham cheese, tomatoes ( at work, where they all asked what's with the continental breakfast?!)
S: 2x coffees with cream
L: huge mixed leaf salad, half an avocado, dressing
S: anchovies (not the tiny bony salty ones you get on pizza, but in a sort of vinaigrette sort of thing)
D: chicken with another large salad, olives, cheese

Walked 4 1/2 miles today, to work, then to my mums and back.

Yesterday also was a good day for exercise as I did 45 mins on my spinning bike.

Please can someone give me the recipe for coconut porridge? Can't face going through all the previous pages of the various threads #am feeling lazy Blush

StuntNun · 10/02/2015 20:55

Mootime when I did intermittent fasting I had at least three 14-hour fasts per week, it was a modification of 16:8 as there are suspicions that the 16-hour fasts can upset female hormone levels. Basically it means that a few times a week I skipped breakfast (you can have up to 50 calories during a fast so a cup of tea is allowed). I only did it when I wasn't that hungry at breakfast time, if I was hungry then I didn't fast that day. I only needed to do it to shift the last 6 lb to reach 126 lb last year. As I posted earlier when I had more weight to lose then Bootcamp Light worked really well for me.

ijustwanttobeme · 10/02/2015 20:57

charlie and Amaxapax- My KetoDiet Buddy suggests starving myself for quick weight loss!

To maintain your weight, consume: 1410 kcal

For slow fat loss, consume: 986 kcal

For moderate fat loss, consume: 775 kcal

For quick fat loss, consume: 564 kcal

Err, think I'll pass (out) thank you

Notso · 10/02/2015 21:05

I ate a cracker! Went to a parents group at school and one of the staff had put on a buffet for her birthday. It was mostly sliced bread sandwiches (which I hate anyway) crisps and cakes. There was a small plate of ritz type crackers with cheese on. I felt a bit under pressure to eat as there was only a few of us, most were off with sick DC and I arrived late. The cracker seemed the best option.
It was only one and two grapes.

B- nothing
L steak fried in butter and buttered broccoli
S- the dreaded cracker Hmm
D- Leek Lasagne with spinach, rocket and ruby chard, cucumber and celery.
No shred today, DS3 told me off for not 'doin eggercisin' Grin probably because I let him watch a bit of the Postman Pat movie while I have my shower afterwards!

Thanks for posting the spinach pie recipe Faux will have to give it a try.
