Morning campers!

You know the drill! Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness for your delectation

So week 3 is fairly typically a bit of a bastard. And I'm afraid to have to tell you all that week 4 is sometimes its best friend.

Don't panic if the scales aren't moving, or even if you're seeing a slight increase. This is totally totally normal for this period of time

Keep focused, make sure you're following the rules - particularly eating the fat and drinking the water - and things should get going again shortly.

If you're struggling, post here rather than dive into the biscuit tin!

Good luck everyone

Oh balls, defrosted my raspberries then opened the yoghurt and it was mouldy. So now i have berries and cream for breakfast. With coffee with cream. Bah.

Mrsstevejones · 10/02/2015 08:35

As my weightloss is so slow i am going to try this week to up my fat. So will have 2 BPCs a day, along with my green smoothie which contains avocado and coconut oil and then have some fatty meat and buttery veg for dinner. It seems like masses of fat but i wont have any dairy and it will keep my protein down.

I dont think i have massive portions and i do drink loads of water but will try and up that as well. I know its week 4 so wary of stalling but weightloss has been slow the whole way through and its worth a shot.

B- BPC
L -BPC and Green smoothie
D- Cauli fried rice with pork belly slices

3 glasses of water down already

BIWI · 10/02/2015 08:37

MrsK - are you still breastfeeding (forgive me if I've got the wrong person!)? Because if so, then there's no need to cut anything at the moment.

If you're hungry and having to snack - eat more fat!

Here's an interesting piece from Harvard School of Public Health about the advantages of a low carb diet

And also a piece that was being referred to on BBC Breakfast this morning

Yes, i am still bfing. I do struggle to get fat into my diet. I bought some coconut oil - It's the only one Sainsbos had, it's a solid one called LucyBees - but i find the taste quite overpowering, so i don't really know what i should do with it.

I often cook for people who hate fatty meat, so i try to add buttery mashed swede or something.

I have tried BPC and eating a slice of butter butter they both left me feeling queasy.

BIWI · 10/02/2015 08:49

It's really, really, really important that you get the fat. But it doesn't mean that you have to eat lumps of butter if it makes you feel queasy!

What about serving salads with your food, with an oily dressing? Or making some mayonnaise (so you know it's totally carb-free) and having that with your veg? Roasted veg with mayo on the side is lovely.

And of course, if dairy isn't a problem for you, then you can eat cheese or make lovely creamy sauces.

MrsKoala · 10/02/2015 08:55

Yes, i eat a lot of mayo - i haven't made my own but i think i will start - i always have it with my roast chicken and chicken skin (that's what we've got tonight).

I find i get full quite quickly so am eating smaller portions, but am then hungry again about an hour later.

Mrsstevejones · 10/02/2015 09:05

Mrsk could you try BPC again but with less fat and build it up? They are def an accquired taste but i love them now. Coconutty coffee is weird to start with, you can co oil that has a less pronounced taste - KTC brand.

My hubby isnt keen on fatty meat either but loves chicken skin and well cooked fat e.g gammon with browned fat. I eat the fat off of the kids portion and add cream and butter to swede and cauli mash.

You can cook with co oil - i use it in thai and indian food. Or you could try my favourite green smoothies - avocado, spinach, co oil and water. If you are BCL you could add a few berries, the sweeter they are the nicer.

Mrsstevejones · 10/02/2015 09:08

Also Mrsk BF made me starving, so well done doing this and feeding your LO.
I never lost a pound in the 9 months i fed my DD but that was probably due to all the cake i used to keep me from being starving all the time!

BitchyDoesWitchyThings · 10/02/2015 09:16

before christmas i had to buy trousers. I bought two pairs. one which were a tiny bit snug, one which fitted. I killed one of my favuorite work trousers yesterday (thankfully but sitting crossed legged at home and not at work). So i tried them on the tighter trousers. They look less snug, they are too tight for a fibro flare day but they look good. Means I can hold out and avoid buying another pair of trousers. Grin

mootime · 10/02/2015 09:28

Mrs K I'm breastfeeding too and find it impossible not to snack, but like you sometimes find it hard to eat a big meal during the day ( although never a problem in the evening...). I've had a proper breakfast today and will try to have a good lunch and really try not to snack but even with a few snacks it seems to be working slowly but surely.

Biwi, I have a bit of a question, I saw a friend at the weekend who lie 4 stone low carbing, but she was amazed at the fact the we are eating lots of fat. I think she did the Dukan. Does that work in a different way do you know? I'm not complaining about the fat! Just interested. This seems much more sustainable for me as I don't feel deprived.

mootime · 10/02/2015 09:30

Oh and MRsk , I don't have a full BPC, just coffee with a bit of coconut oil and some almond milk. I find this much more palatable. May be worth a try?

Birdinacage · 10/02/2015 09:36

MrsK I put my coconut oil in fruit/herbal/green tea as I find it disgusting to eat off a spoon but lovely with other flavours. I also use it for frying meat in, my DP is hugely fussy about meat and won't touch anything with visible fat on it and also hates the taste of coconut but he loves a steak fried in coconut oil HmmGrin. Cauli rice fried in coconut oil rather than steamed is also really nice, especially with curries or other spicy foods.

StuntNun · 10/02/2015 09:41

Supermum as a long-term dieter it is quite likely that it will take longer for your body to adapt to this WOE and start 'allowing' itself to lose weight. It would be well worth you logging your food intake for a couple of days as the macros can be illuminating. When I was more than a stone over my goal weight the Bootcamp Light rules worked really well for me but as I got closer to my target weight then logging my food intake revealed that my carbs were too high and my fat intake was too low plus I was eating more calories than required. I introduced BPCs and intermittent fasting three days a week and my weight started to drop again.

mootime · 10/02/2015 09:55

Stunt nun what do you mean by intermittent fasting? I don't plan on doing it (breastfeeding!). Just interested.

Fatstacks · 10/02/2015 09:55

Morning Campers :)

I had a shitty migraine yesterday so sulked most of the day.

Hence I have three meals worth of leftovers today to eat.

Did couch 2 couch and didn't have to crawl up the drive to collapse so something is going right!

Have a good un :)

EvaTheOptimist · 10/02/2015 10:03

Mo hope you find your motivation. Did you list out your reasons for wanting to lose weight?

Blueberry I tried last night just to get back to "no pudding" after tea for my kids. Didn't work, there were ravening hordes attacking the cupboards...

SayraT · 10/02/2015 10:04

Hello everyone Grin

Just managing to get on the thread now, I've had a quick read through but not had time to do spreadsheet updates. I will get onto them tonight.

ready I go to a place in Edinburgh called "Madame Peaches" Hmm it is nothing like the name suggests honest! There are a few other pole schools in Edinburgh, one is called "Goswell" I've never been there and the other one I know of is called "watermelon studio". My friend and I go there sometimes if there is something on at MP that we don't want to attend. Like this week there is a choreography class but friend and I have no interest at all in dancing Grin

I've had an awful weekend (foodwise) but I am not going to talk about it. I need to go shopping as I've hardly anything left in the house. I tried the egg trick lurking posted earlier Shock wow!

B: Coffee with coconut cream (no real cream left), egg in a cup
L: ?
D: ?

MushroomTree · 10/02/2015 10:09

Well I've put on 1lb. Doesn't seem like I'll ever get below 11st at the moment.

I know this is usual but it's still pretty depressing!

readyforno2 · 10/02/2015 10:11

I've booked myself into one of the GoesWell classes. I'm quite excited to be honest. Haven't 'poled' in years!! Booked my sister in too.
Just hoping I can shift this horrible lurgy by then.

SayraT · 10/02/2015 10:29

Woohoo! ready exciting stuff, you'll have a pole up in the living room before you know it. I just put mine up the other week again but had a very intense lesson in Glasgow on Friday night and only today have I been able to move without pain. OH had to help me sit up at the weekend because my stomach muscles were sore!

Let me know what it is like there, my friend and I are always looking for different places to have lessons with different instructors.

WireCat · 10/02/2015 10:36

Good morning.

I've had a square of 85% chocolate & a cream coffee.

Will have some butter,y eggs before I go to work.

Avocado salad for lunch"

Dinner will be 2 choritzo sausages (got them reduced in Waitrose a few weeks ago) with cauli rice.

I've not used coconut oil. Can I have a recommended one please? Thanks

lurkingmurking · 10/02/2015 10:50

Oxo cube worked a treat! Ridiculously hard circuit class also done!

Can someone tell me exactly how to make BPC? I think I need to eat more fat and less dairy.

B: Cream cheese pancake with berries and total
L: Omlette
D: Lamb and feta meatballs, leeks
E: Circuits class

NaturalBlondeYeahRight · 10/02/2015 11:02

Grrr keep losing and regaining the same 3 pounds every couple of days.

The government aren't going to admit they were wrong, just slowly release info over a few years I reckon.

Thumbwitch · 10/02/2015 11:12

Dairy heavy day for me today but I seem to be ok with it, luckily.

B - cheese lump.
L - bowl of raspberries, yoghurt and cream. I really wasn't hungry again. And another lump of cheese.
D - 2 lamb chops with broccoli, courgette and mushrooms cooked in garlic butter, a couple of carrots and my first spoonful of peas since I started this bootcamp. And some gravy, but not much. Followed by a much later bowl of cherries and cream. And a whole glass of red wine which sadly has oxidised a bit as for some unknown reason DH had 2 bottles of the same wine open at the same time Hmm drunk as spritzers with sparkling mineral water.

Still a bit constipated but no nervy twitchings last night so that was a bonus!
