Morning campers!

You know the drill! Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness for your delectation

So week 3 is fairly typically a bit of a bastard. And I'm afraid to have to tell you all that week 4 is sometimes its best friend.

Don't panic if the scales aren't moving, or even if you're seeing a slight increase. This is totally totally normal for this period of time

Keep focused, make sure you're following the rules - particularly eating the fat and drinking the water - and things should get going again shortly.

If you're struggling, post here rather than dive into the biscuit tin!

Good luck everyone

The ultimate challenge, i helped the boys make cookies earlier. Got dough all over my hands and everything. Didnt lick the spoon, didnt have one when they were cooked

Now early night (watching tv in bed) with a liquorice tea and a square of chocolate :)

EhricLovesTheBhrothers · 09/02/2015 20:07

Oh my god mashed swede! Where have you been all my life! Feel sad I wasted a bit of the swede now as it was still a bit hard round the edges. Mashed swede with fried mushrooms, courgetts, chilli and tofu in soya sauce. A cheese free day!

Supermum0203 · 09/02/2015 20:38

STUN,
I haven't got any medical condition, but the truth is that i have been dieting for the last 20 years.. I think I have done every single diet you can think of, SW, WW,south Beach, Atkins, 5;2, slim Fast, Cabbage soup, appetite suppressant tablets, water fasting.....you name it ...All my aim is to be around 58- 60kg. When i am at this weigh, I feel like a $1.000.000.girl.
For the last year and a half i put on 8 kg. I have tried dieting over and over again, and lc is the only one I can sustain long term, but the weigh seems to be very stubborn.

WireCat · 09/02/2015 20:40

Hideous hideous hideous cravings. Had 3 small squares of chocolate, 1 after 8 & a bite of a biscuit. The good news is, that is nowhere near like the binges I would normally have when my period is due or my dh is away. Normally it would've been packets of biscuits, huge bars of chocolate & cake.

Craving gone. And I refuse to beat myself up about it.

BIWI · 09/02/2015 20:41

In that case, I think you just need to stick with it, Supermum, and give you body some consistency. As long as you're enjoying your food, it sounds like this could be the plan for you!

BIWI,
this week i am having only breakfast at about 7 and dinner around 5 and nothing else apart from my intake of water to see if there is any change for next week.
The thing is that all my clothes and I mean all, apart from pjs and and a couple of tracksuit bottoms, are size 10 and now I am between 12/14 and tbh I refuse to go and buy new clothes, on the other hand is very sad wearing the same trousers for work day-in day out; even my chest has gone up...!! I have been all my life a size 34b and now they are huge...like when i was pregnant 12 year ago...!!!!!! I dont know how people can cope with big bust ;its always on my way...

BitchyDoesWitchyThings · 09/02/2015 21:05

I went training, it broke me. But didn't want to stop and wanted to stay for the extra session. Just a pain that I have twinged something in my back so it was a good job I came home. Very gentle training session. Coach gave me a stern look and we did planning and testing prep. so I was being careful chipping promise

I have 2 targets for this week - sleep pattern miracles are possible if you believe and caffine intake. I might the family might need good luck with that. I tend to get rather ratty when tired. Blush Other than that I am going to koko.

Wishing you all good weeks!
And congrats on all the losses.

Lex early mornings are vile aren't they, especially once they are way past being little babies where you can at least reason with yourself that they need a feed. The boy was up at 4.30am saying he was bored! Then he cuddled me so much in bed that I got too hot, and lay at the bottom of my own bed like a bad dog. Inevitably, younger son (3) woke at 5.30, he was also in our bed, and starting demanding bananas, satsumas, drinks etc. DH remained resolutely asleep, of course... So my food today has been crap - started well with 2 HB eggs, spinach and mayo for breakfast, then was picking at things throughout the day just from being shattered. Everything was v low-carb, but I didn't have a chance to sit down or feel hungry or full, it was just grabbing a slice of ham, wrapping a chunk of cheese in a little gem leaf, dipping a square of 85% choc into some double cream, etc. Agh! Called it quits at 7pm and am eating nothing until 7am tomorrow! Have done masses of water though. Just like the calmness that three proper nourishing meals bring.
Re: vits/veg/supplements, I think BIWI said the veg should cover most nutrients, but diet alone cannot produce enough Vit D, neither can sunlight on skin in this country between Oct-Apr, so we should all be taking a Vit D supp. 5mg (mcg?) used to be the RDA but now it is 10. You can look up the Vit D council online for more advice/details/sciencey stuff!
I am weighing-in tomorrow. In the meantime, I am going to read a book in bed, and sip camomile tea! KOKO is our motto, right?

MoJangled · 09/02/2015 21:47

Oops Blush Going to clamp down on those pointless crabs!

supermum have you seen this link on not losing weight on a low carb diet? I found it last BC and it helped me when I had plateaued for weeks. It's actually what BIWI tells us anyway! For me, the thing that helped was to seriously ramp up the fat beyond what I thought was a lot anyway, and replace most of my protein with veg. This had the effect of reducing how much I ate, and I did start losing again. You might need a different combo of tweaks to get the balance right for you. Good luck!

BlueberryHope · 09/02/2015 21:48

It is micrograms! Sorry for confusion x

MoJangled · 09/02/2015 21:52

Blueberry I'm just impressed your DC demand fruit on dawn rousings! Mine's toast cereal milk all the way!

BlueberryHope · 09/02/2015 22:16

MoJangled - they are both fruit monsters. They devour it. The eldest eats 3-5 apples most days. They would hate BootCamp! I do worry now though, that they probably eat too many carbs, and that snacking ramps up their blood glucose levels etc. The perils of reading Briffa! Is anyone on here changing their whole family's WoE to be more L-C? My DH is soooo resistant, but I think my kids would be ok. Except for the aforementioned fruit, oh yeah...

Thumbwitch · 09/02/2015 22:50

Blueberry - does your eldest have any behavioural issues at all?

LexLoofah · 10/02/2015 02:03

blueberry not intentionally but my kids now eat less carbs as a result of eating mostly what we are eating. Cereal or porridge once or twice a week instead of every day, eggs etc the rest of the time. They still have sandwhich lunch but veggies instead of crisps. Definely less fruit too. They now ask for cheese first thing in the morning when they used to get an apple and have transitioned to Greek yog with cinnamon and my DS bless him told granny he would like a dark Choc egg at easter as he only eats dark choc now !

They still have biscuits And pasta etc but not nearly as much as If I have made cauli rice that is what they get. Luckily DH is fully on board so that makes it a lot easier. They want carbs at supper though, I think because they are tired so I give them a banana or some toast and a hot milk.

LexLoofah · 10/02/2015 02:06

Well was coming on to post that my turkey soup was a disaster, I decided to blend it and it ended up like baby food so I fell back on a good old omelette with probably too much cheese - gah!

ChesterDrawers · 10/02/2015 06:22

Excited to see a new low on the scales this morning, well for this BC anyway, not quite at last bc's lowest, but not far off. Less than 1lb til I'm back in the 10s and hopeful of cracking that nut this week.

Today's plan:
B: eggs, butter - really bored of this but don't quite know what else to do that I can take to work
L: roast chicken, salad leaves, avocado, olive oil
D: pork in tomatoes (1/3 of tin), mushrooms, leeks, courgette, with cauli rice

Romeyroo · 10/02/2015 06:23

blueberry, I had cut obvious sugar out of DC2s diet before I started boot camp because I noticed certain things sent him hyperactive.

Since starting boot camp, I actually also look for hidden sugars too, and he is on a low GI diet. He is far more settled, no hypers followed by crashes. For example, if he has even white pasta I would now notice the effect. Fortunately, he has always eaten green veg! For fruit, I give him the lower sugar alternative and I use soya flour if I am making DC pizza and xylitol/soya flour if the children want to makes cakes.

I don't buy sweets or biscuits and the cereal bars I have are Alpen Light which have 4g of sugar, but these are not for every day. Actually, even kids yogurts have loads of sugar, so these are gone too; ditto children's cereals, though we have the Alpha bear one but DC2 is not a cereal fan.

But I have done this because it is so much easier than a hyperactive child.

Romeyroo · 10/02/2015 06:53

Sorry, coming back to add that I am a single parent, so changing family diet is relatively straightforward. Getting XH on board for contact has been an uphill struggle because his own diet is carb-tastic, but he is beginning to listen as he sees the change in DC2s behaviour. It is difficult because it is obviously up to him what he feeds DC, though.

Anyway, I have realised doing this WOE that I am sensitive to even small amounts of sugar in weight terms. I did have a couple of years of an extremely restricted diet for health reasons, and it was after that when I started back on a more normal diet, i put on loads of weight really quickly and got completely addicted to sugar. I find that quite scary looking back so this WOE makes me feel more in control. I am so glad to have found it, even if I just STS though would love to get that final half stone off

This week's challenge is to cut down the cheese. Wishing everyone a good day Flowers

almahart · 10/02/2015 07:19

Sausage and egg for breakfast - trying to eat more

RandomHouseRules · 10/02/2015 07:32

Morning all. Feeling a bit under the weather today, and had a terrible night's sleep, and have to spend the day running some training, standing in for someone else who is sick, and I am feeling less than enthused about it! I also have no idea what my lunch options will be although some kind of meat/salad option is likely at the cafe at the training centre. Plan:
B: 2 egg, spinach and green bean muffins
L: ??
D: salmon with creamed leeks and buttered broccoli

Need to really pay attention to my water intake. Have a good day all.

lurkingmurking · 10/02/2015 07:49

Is it possible to get carb flu this far in?? For the first time last night I actually dreamt about carbs and I feel just gross!!

Going to try an oxo cube!

Mrsstevejones · 10/02/2015 08:21

Whilst my children dont low carb i have reduced their carbs. I was always a bit strict on sugar - e.g greek yog instead of childrens yoghurts.

Mine do love fruit but i keep it to one or two pieces a day and more berries, which they love. They have eggs or porridge for breakfast. Then they have what ever we are having for dinner so cauli rice and swede mash etc.

My DD has 2 lunches a week at nursery so its carb tastic there and dinner once a week at Grannys - not too mention tonnes of sweets and biscuits - they wont listen they believe sugar is an essential food group, sigh.

I cut squash and never really did fruit juice.

A typical day could have been cereal for breakfast, sandwich for lunch and pasta for tea - way too many carbs.

Luckily mine love green veg and arent too fussy.

I think this is a healthier way to eat and want to pass on good habits.

EhricLovesTheBhrothers · 10/02/2015 08:23

Weighed this morning (I know, but I am a daily weigher, keeps me in check) and I've gone up! After my cheese free day. Am assuming it's a water related anomaly. Just going to KOKO with restricted cheese and try to keep yoghurt and cream consumption minimal. I feel a bit weird this morning, gurgly tummy, which hasn't happened since I first started so maybe I'm a bit under the weather.

MrsKoala · 10/02/2015 08:28

That's interesting about the BMI BIWI. I have just worked mine out and i am on bmi 26. Does this mean to lose another stone i need to start watching/weighing things? Because altho i love this woe, i don't think i could skip a meal. I'm still quite hungry and also need to snack in the afternoons.
