Hey
I'm starting again on 5th Jan, just about to go through recipes and meal plan as for me, when I fail to prepare I prepare to fail!

NaturalBlonde it can be tricky to get a very high fat intake. Some people resort to spreading butter on cheese; but drinking bulletproof coffee and eating pork scratchings does it for me.

FelixFelix · 08/01/2015 21:20

Thanks for the coleslaw and Mayo advice Smile I'm quite looking forward to coleslaw! We are having fish 'tacos' with baby gem lettuce leaves instead of wraps tomorrow night so I think it will go well as a side with some avocado.

FelixFelix · 08/01/2015 21:22

Sayra I think a few of us are just trying to ease ourselves in to LC after xmas before hardcore bootcamp starts, so I wouldn't worry too much about the excessive thins today. Lock them away from now on though Grin

GutsyMcMuffin · 08/01/2015 21:39

Had beef stroganoff last night with slim rice, which is the same stuff as the magic noodles but in 'rice' form. It was ok, a bit soggy but I think we could improve it, I'll prob try them again. Was quite expensive at £2.49 for a small pack but I bought two packs in the Holland and Barrett 1p sale thing so it was £2.50 for the two which was just enough for three of us.

mootime · 08/01/2015 22:27

I may have eaten too much belly pork... At least I know I've had enough fat today!

Newbiecrafter · 08/01/2015 23:19

Hi again SayraT, I found you.

Hello everyone. I started this on Jan 1st so am on day 8. I want to lose 3stone 5lbs. I had my first not very hungry at all day today, which has been very odd, so was asking for help on another thread when SayraT mentioned this one.

I was also querying MFP and the fats/carbs/protein ratios as it says I'm way over of the fats. Can I ask, what level would you recommend I set these at?

I just read through the thread and Ther terms to be some issues with MFP. It used to have barcode reader thing that loaded all the nutrition facts a few years ago, so if this is still an option, then that might make it more reliable if you add your own foods on, iykwim?

Xxx

Does that work as a bum kick for the ryvita thins? Grin

SayraT · 09/01/2015 07:42

Haha Grin yes I think it does!

NaturalBlondeYeahRight · 09/01/2015 07:54

3lbs on in one night (on wagon) how does that even happen????

SayraT · 09/01/2015 08:04

Well if it was 3lbs on in one night then it is not fat so don't worry.

What did you eat yesterday? Anything different? Did you do exercise yesterday or the day before? I quite often weigh more after doing exercise.

Did you accidentally leave your shoes on when you stood on the scales?

graduatedbob · 09/01/2015 08:09

1 week done and 7lb lost! I am massive though and have many stones to lose but it's a good start. I drank and ate so much over the Christmas hols and have had a foot injury, which seems to be getting better so have been walking more. Hope it continues.

Made a lovely chicken curry last night with cauliflower rice, which was surprisingly nice. Going to attempt to make a pizza out of cauliflower tonight.

mootime · 09/01/2015 08:14

I sneaked a look at the scales this morning, and at the start of day 5 I am 3lbs down.
Am so thrilled. Out to supper with friends tonight so that may be a challenge. I've asked if possible to go low carb and our v skinny friend was happy to oblige so hopefully it won't be too bad.

BIWI · 09/01/2015 08:26

Gutsy - why not try making rice with cauliflower? It's a lot cheaper!!!

Newbie - I asked you this on the other thread, but why are you worried about the fat? You are supposed to be eating lots of fat! Just ignore MFP!

NaturalBlondeYeahRight · 09/01/2015 08:42

sayra no shoes Grin, no excersise, no new foods that I can think of. I got new scales yesterday (that's why I weighed 2 days in a row) and immediately just thought they must be wrong so checked on my old ones and it tells the same story.
I physically don't know how the body could vary that much overnight. It's not 'weight gain' so I'll just ignore for a few days. Bit disheartening though.

BeyondDoesBootcamp · 09/01/2015 08:53

Naturalblonde, i've put on two lbs in a day too. I'm guessing that it is because my start weight was falsely low due to staying with my sister last week, eating spicy food every day and the effect on my digestive system... Blush

Apophenia · 09/01/2015 08:56

They're making cauliflower rice on Lorraine! Grin

Apophenia · 09/01/2015 08:59

newbie The ratios on MFP aren't set to follow a HFLC diet.

You can change them to match the way of eating you are following. Mine are set at 60% fat, 30% protein, 10% carb.

SunshineAndShadows · 09/01/2015 09:00

I'd everyone doing? Just weighed myself and lost nearly 2kg in a week! (about 4lb)
I'm sure part of it will be water weight and my body adjusting but it's given me a real boost :-)
How's everyone else doing?

FelixFelix · 09/01/2015 09:22

Day 4 for me this morning and I've lost 3lb already Smile

I feel really tired with no energy though which isn't good. I have a training programme to do on my road bike three times a week and I can't manage it. It's just over an hour long and I can't get past 15 minutes, where I've easily completed it a few times before starting LC this week. My legs just won't work. I've tried doing it after eating too which hasn't made a difference.

Does anyone manage a decent amount of exercise whilst LC?

BeyondDoesBootcamp · 09/01/2015 09:40

No exercise here at present, im a wheelchair user.

Planning on going swimming twice a week (perhaps starting today?), although cant do too much as it really affects me after, if not at the time

B- fried aubergine slice 'toast' with cream cheese and smoked salmon. Chunk of cucumber, coffee with cream

FelixFelix · 09/01/2015 09:52

Beyond I'd love to have the courage to go swimming. Enjoy yourself if you do end up going Smile

Birdinacage · 09/01/2015 11:08

With regard to the food details on MFP I tend to check carb, fat etc. details on google against what it says on the food info and if it's not accurate then I just edit the information myself or choose the option which has the correct values, it's normally obvious if something is way off, e.g the other day I clicked on an option for cauliflower and it came up with 15g carbs for 100g but sometimes things are only 1 or 2g wrong but it can add up to quite a lot if there are a few things with incorrect amounts.

Back to having dairy again today, I was getting a bit fed up of tinned tomatoes Grin

Pisseslikeahorse · 09/01/2015 11:18

Felix

Yes, I’m out running 4 / 5 days a week with some cross training and other bits.

There are no problems when your into the full swing of the diet (Keto Adapted), but at the moment your body is still adapting to burning fats and so your going to have a shortfall energy wise.
Don’t despair, keep going as it changes and then your going to have tons more energy. For me it took a number of weeks to get back to previous form, but since then I’ve gone from strength to strength.

SunshineAndShadows · 09/01/2015 11:40

Hi Felix I've been feeling crappy all week, sleeping 10 hours a night! I did a JM workout on Tues and it pretty much killed me. However did an hour of tennis last night and felt much better. My bikes being serviced at the moment and then adjusted (thanks for the advice) so I'll let you know how I get on
