Hey
I'm starting again on 5th Jan, just about to go through recipes and meal plan as for me, when I fail to prepare I prepare to fail!

OP posts:

Roast them too! I hope they have the skins on?

Cover them in olive oil, season well, and roast sewing the veg.

BIWI · 07/01/2015 13:27

"roast with the veg"

BIWI · 07/01/2015 13:28

No sewing. I hate sewing.

FelixFelix · 07/01/2015 13:28

Yes they are with the skin Grin thanks, I'll put it all together in a pan.

mootime · 07/01/2015 13:32

Oh my. I'd forgotten the low carb breath.... I've ordered ketosis strips, but I am sure my mouth is a pretty good indication that it's working... Shock

prettybird · 07/01/2015 13:36

Squeeze a lemon over them, tuck the halves alongside, along with some unpeeled garlic cloves, drizzle with olive oil, sprinkle with sea salt and roast for c40 minutes.

That's a MN recipe (glass of wine in that is optional) for chicken thighs on the bone, so I'm sure it would work for boneless ones.

NaturalBlondeYeahRight · 07/01/2015 14:19

I hope this is a January thing, I feel hungry more than usual, more of a sweet craving than usual and want to sleep. I think it's the dark evenings. Securely on wagon but just finding it a bit harder than normal. Anyone else feeling like this?
After tracking my weight loss over last 10 weeks or so, I've definitely noticed a pattern of drop-steady-drop.

FelixFelix · 07/01/2015 14:38

Thanks pretty, that sounds nice Smile

BeyondDoesBootcamp · 07/01/2015 15:19

Lunch for me was tgi fridays, my low carb fave. Chicken wings first. Steak, roasted veg, handful of sweet potato fries, with tonnes of mayo and sour cream. Mmm.

Just having a coffee in ikea right now :)

BIWI · 07/01/2015 15:43

You don't need ketosis strips!

If you're following Bootcamp rules and drinking the water that you should be, then the strips will only show a very, very small increase in colour.

You are wasting your money!

BIWI · 07/01/2015 15:44

NaturalBlonde - if you're hungry, it's a sign that you need to:

  • eat more fat
  • drink more water
  • eat more protein

... and also to recognise that it's a temporary thing until you become properly keto-adapted

BIWI · 07/01/2015 15:45

Beyond - just beware that sweet potatoes aren't Bootcamp friendly

(the clue is in the name, 'sweet' potatoes!)

miffy49 · 07/01/2015 16:03

I realise that it was just damage limitation Beyond but, when you are home and the family are going to be happily dipping chips, do yourself some celeriac or swede chips. They dip just as nicely into garlic mayo or sour cream and I actually find them much tastier than potato chips. I just chuck mine into the airfryer and they're done in no time. Celeriac goes especially well with cheesey dips. You've set me off now. I want chips n dips and I used up all the swede on a sheppy pie yesterday!Sad

BeyondDoesBootcamp · 07/01/2015 16:24

Yeah, i know they werent ideal, damage limitation is right! Blush

Wont be a problem at home, dh is bootcamping and kids are eating similar too (for eg they'll have a sandwich for lunch, but the same dinner as us)

miffy49 · 07/01/2015 16:42

Do you read the Diet Doctor web site, Beyond? Hes bringing his two little girls up low carb and they certainly look good on it. Smile

BeyondDoesBootcamp · 07/01/2015 16:47

I dont, but i will have a look at it, thanks!

Apophenia · 07/01/2015 17:22

Evening all!
So -
Breakfast - BPC
lunch - Cauliflower Cheese
Dinner - homemade KFC. (Ground almonds mixed with spices and seasoning, coating chicken pieces). yum.

BeyondDoesBootcamp · 07/01/2015 17:48

I see myself losing a lot of time to that site, miffy! Grin

D- gammon (assuming it smells okay on opening as two days ood...), fried egg, petit pois

BIWI · 07/01/2015 17:53

Why BPC instead of breakfast?!

If you're doing Bootcamp then you should be eating three meals a day for the first two weeks

This is really important, as it makes sure that you are keeping your blood sugar levels stable, and if you're eating enough fat, encouraging your body to move into fat-burning mode as opposed to carb-burning mode.

Apophenia · 07/01/2015 18:30

I've always had a bpc instead of breakfast when boot-camping.
Didn't think it was that big a sin, plenty of others do it too.

Apophenia · 07/01/2015 19:21

That sounded rude, I didn't mean it to.

NaturalBlondeYeahRight · 07/01/2015 19:24

BIWI, thanks for replying to me from Vietnam! You might be right about the fat part this morning, some marmite and butter on a bit of cheese seemed to sort me out this afternoon. The water part I'm doing fine on, 3.5 litres daily.
I think the tiredness is the back to work/school stuff, and a bit of carb flu.
Wish I could tolerate coffee for a BPC.
I really enjoyed my frittata for breakfast these last three days, so much easier than cooking. Just eggs, chopped bacon, spinach with some parmasan grated on top.

BeyondDoesBootcamp · 07/01/2015 19:32

Oo, why had i not thought of marmite on cheese! Yum! :)

Wombat22 · 07/01/2015 19:52

Hello every one. Day 3.
B: Boiled eggs
L: Brocolli soup and beef stew
D: Chicken omelette
Snacks of 2 decaf coffees with cream and a babybel
Had a sneaky weigh this morning and 2 lbs down since Mon morning Grin

ceedub · 07/01/2015 19:54

well, today started well, breakfast of an omelette and herbal tea, but then I needed to take DS, who is 3, to hospital as he couldn't walk on one ankle. 6 hours later, with no cash, no food and no cafe which would take cards, I had a wobble and scarfed 6 jelly babies from DS' 'bribe stash' (which I did grab before leaving the house). I did manage to drink loads of water, and have had some peanuts since getting home...as well as a g & t.

back on track for dinner with a steak, mushrooms and some sort of unctuous, creamy sauce!!
