Good morning everyone!

I hope you're all still with us, to come and add your final weigh-in to the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

Or, on the Weight Tracker

It seems like there have been some really good losses on this Bootcamp, and so Flowers for you all!

Hope you all have a very good week

Chester I found exercising while LC far easier for example being able to exercise intensely before breakfast and having consistent energy throughout my workouts. I use protein shakes after lifting, the Maximuscle chocolate one is only a couple of grams of carbs per serving.

Romeyroo · 04/01/2015 10:45

Helpful advice about the exercising. My aim for this boot camp is to get exercise back into my life as well as lose a few more pounds. I weighed myself this morning and have broken the 10 stone barrier, thanks to dsis and her roasts, kale and cooked breakfastsGrin. But not going to get too excited till I see it consistently.

BitchyTakesOnManagement · 04/01/2015 12:19

Started back today:

buttered leeks in scrambled egg for breakfast.

weight has sts at 78kg. It will go down, I want 70kg or less.

BIWI · 04/01/2015 12:30

Sayra that is fantastic! Thank you so much for doing that! Flowers

No problem BIWI I do it for myself as much as everyone else Smile

Hope Vietnam isn't too difficult foodwise and that it isn't too boring!

Charlie I don't like marmite but butter on cheese is quite tasty.

Food Today

B/L: Cooked breakfast (fried egg, black pudding, sausage), BPC
D: Chicken and chorizo casserole with celeriac mash, pots de creme with amaretto for dessert (both on recipe thread, first time trying them)
S: Some salt and vinegar peanuts

At the moment I am getting back on the wagon slowly hence the slightly carbier things and snacks. I will keep going like this until the 19th when I will be on BC properly.

Welcome back to everyone, hope you enjoyed Christmas and if you've put weight on, hope it was worth it.

I put ~10lbs on and I enjoyed every single one of them Grin I've already lost 3 of them so quite happy.

NaturalBlondeYeahRight · 04/01/2015 17:04

Evening- back to work/school tomorrow for all of the naturals Sad
I've made my packed lunch already and a frittata for the next few days breakfast. Never normally this organised.
Lost the 3 pounds from Christmas, but wish I was nearer to goal like you romey so far to travel still. Hey ho, at least it doesn't feel like I'm on a diet. Thanks for the recipe link- it's great. Have a good time in Vietnam, I only get to go to Tonbridge for work!

NaturalBlondeYeahRight · 04/01/2015 17:06

Oh and Lidl had sold out of greek yogurt!

Newbiecrafter · 04/01/2015 18:24

Hello again.

Another few questions... Sorry

How much fat am I aiming to eat? Is there a minimum or maximum?
Same with protein?
And Carbs? Is there a Max i need to stay within? Miffy mentioned between 50-100 due to my thyroid issues, but I'm going to go for that, as she suggested after bootcamp, so in bootcamp, is it 20g carbs? I hit 35 yesterday, so not sure if that's too much.
Is a Bullet Proof coffee made with 1 teaspoon of butter and coconut oil or 1 Tablespoon?
Someone just mentioned a frittata made for a few days. How do you keep things like that in the fridge? Do they not get soggy bottomed?

I'm a terrible cook, and need as much guidance as possible, Blush

SayraT, your spreadsheet is really very helpful. And also love seeing you're lists for what your eating each day. Thanks again, so much!

Pisseslikeahorse · 04/01/2015 18:24

Hi all, hope you all had a good Christmas. Been lurking whilst enjoying myself (low carb-ish) and doing stuff with DCs. I put a chunk back on but its not going to get the chance to stick.

Chester - the low carb performance books really worth a read, its changed some of my basics. I'm just starting to train up to half distance (to prove a point to myself) and its going well, 12.5 this morning on a cup of coffee. Grin

SayraT · 04/01/2015 19:03

newbie

How much fat am I aiming to eat? Is there a minimum or maximum? I am not the best person to answer this but hopefully someone else might be able to give you actual figures but you should eat fat:protein:carbs. If you eat things from the 'allowed list' on the spreadsheet (BIWI will post a link to the new spreadsheet when BC starts but [[https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1GQAVKe1likhhEQDspQEHy4l0sILl0N80fTO53I4t6ns/edit#gid=0]] is the old one. The various tabs at the bottom should give you some more advice and also other sources to look at for information on LCing.

Same with protein? You don't want to go too high with protein as too much is not good for you, again I don't know exact weights.

And Carbs? Is there a Max i need to stay within? Miffy mentioned between 50-100 due to my thyroid issues, but I'm going to go for that, as she suggested after bootcamp, so in bootcamp, is it 20g carbs? I hit 35 yesterday, so not sure if that's too much. Carbwise don't worry too much, eat according to the list and you won't go far wrong. I have no idea how many carbs I eat but some days will be lower than others. I think 35g is fine, I am afraid that I don't know much about thyroid issues but others like miffy do so take their advice on that.

How much do you have to lose (if you don't mind me asking?) if you have a lot then you definitely will not need to worry about being too precise with grams of carbs, fat, protein etc. Some people find as they get nearer to goal they need to start adjusting this. I think stunt and pisses would be good for advice on this.

Is a Bullet Proof coffee made with 1 teaspoon of butter and coconut oil or 1 Tablespoon? You can make it with slightly different amounts of butter/oil/cream. I don't measure but just add a bit of each and blend it well. Some people hate them so don't start with loads of oil/butter at once. Coffee with cream is lovely Smile

Someone just mentioned a frittata made for a few days. How do you keep things like that in the fridge? Do they not get soggy bottomed? Sorry, not sure, I only keep frittata for two days in the fridge. It is fine like that.

Hope that helps Smile

You will also find that once BC starts most people will post their daily meals. It can be very useful and give you ideas for later on in the week. I would say though, don't worry if it seems that some people are eating much less than you are. It is not a competition to eat less and one really good side effect of Lcing is that you appetite reduces so those of us who are long term LCers will be eating less than new starts. With LC you eat when you are hungry Smile

SayraT · 04/01/2015 19:04

Sorry, no idea what I did with the link.

Here is the spreadsheet

NaturalBlondeYeahRight · 04/01/2015 20:05

Hi Newbie, was it my frittata you mentioned? (Hate the word frittata yet I can't stop saying it)
I've not made it loads of times but I tend to keep in fridge, cut a bit off in the morning and warm it through in microwave. I hate cooking in the mornings. It's not huge though, will probably only last 2/3 days. It may well get a bit of a soggy bottom.
I find breakfast on the run the hardest on a school morning.

Newbiecrafter · 04/01/2015 21:18

Hi SayraT.
Thanks SO much for all your help with everything. I really appreciate it. Thanks

I want to lose about 3 stone and 5lbs to get me down to 10stone. In my head I've always imagined being 9 stone 10 but no idea where that number came from. I'm 5'6" and small to medium frame so think 10 should be a good target. So I worked it out and I think that's 47lbs which sounds a lot but I think if I can stick with it and progress well, then I should manage that by December next year and will be a much healthier person in the process.

I've always been a bit, not sure what the word is but a bit of an 'eek, is that all??!' at the prospect of losing just 1lb a week, ESP as I know some peeps can lose lots in the same time. But, I,ve faffed for the last few years not losing weight successfully that I am in it for the long haul. I'm still secretly hoping that it will all come off by next week, but I know it ain't gonna happen that easily. I have also told myself that I am NOT going to eat sugar this year and hopefully that will help me kick my massively sweet tooth habit.

Things have been very com over the school holidays and I have a stash of Percy pigs and aniseed twists in the car that I will resist even during the stressy making school runs.

Natural blonde, thanks for your help too. When the kids go back to school, I'm planning on eating breakfast after I've dropped them off, so at about 9 ish. I also hate cooking in the morning, or at any time really Blush so love the idea of cooking something that lasts a couple of days. Result!

Xxx

Newbiecrafter · 04/01/2015 21:37

Calm over the holidays. Not com.

Romeyroo · 04/01/2015 23:40

I don't know if I am close to goal or not, though, as I am not sure what my goal should be. I had put on quite a bit of weight (not sure how much as don't have scales) so my initial goal was work clothes to fit again. Reached that one, but was disappointed to find I was hovering over 10 stone still. Hopefully on my way to cracking that, so my next goal is to get securely under 10 stone again and be exercising regularly.

I used to fluctuate between 9 St 3 and 9 st 12, but anything under that was unusual. I don't know where my natural weight with this way of eating is; hence saying my goal for this boot camp is a few pounds. Really, I want some more inches off my stomach. My lovely XH told me I was stuck with the saggy tum after DC2 as the skin was loose now. Shallow as I am, I would like to prove him wrong but that will take exercise as well as boot camp.

pisses, I am impressed with all your running; I have not done any since pre-dc but used to really enjoy it. I fractured my foot in August, so not sure about starting up again but toying with the idea.

Pleaseandthankyou · 05/01/2015 08:47

Just weighed to see what damage has been done. Back on eggs for breakfast. Pulling myself onto the wagon....

prettybird · 05/01/2015 08:52

Just weighed myself in the "old" rose-tinted position for the scales and the damage from Christmas wasn't as bad as I feared - only 6 pounds on.

Also weighed the scales in a more realistic position, to establish a new base line.

Shock
ChesterDrawers · 05/01/2015 09:00

Weighed in this morning and am up 4lbs from last BC WI, so not overly gutted. Back on it since Friday and starting to feel good.

I have bought the Volek and Phinney book so will have a read when I am lying on my sunlounger Grin, even though I think they sound like Harry Potter characters!

My aim for this BC is to get back in the healthy BMI range, so currently 11lbs, although my week away might alter that slightly Blush

Birdinacage · 05/01/2015 12:49

Afternoon everyone, hope everybody is managing ok and not suffering to much in the aftermath of Christmas. We went out for the day at the weekend and were planning on Frankie and Benny's as they have a few things on the menu that are ok for me and there is something everyone else likes too but unfortunately they were ridiculously busy as was pizza express and we'd promised the little guy a pizza so the only placed left was pizza hut, land of the carbs Hmm.

I'm doing a dairy free week this week to make up for the pizza I ended up sharing but I had quite a bit of fancy Stilton, mascarpone and cream in the fridge that needed using up so I've made a crustless quiche, three big pots of broccoli and Stilton soup, a pot of Stilton and mushroom sauce and some tomato and mascarpone soup which will all go in the freezer once it's cooled down.

BitchyTakesOnManagement · 05/01/2015 14:34

Where did we get with that idea for a company that made food like that to ship out to people?
Birdinacage that sounds lovely Envy

Romeyroo · 05/01/2015 20:38

Food sounds amazing, Birdinacage!

My musings on goals: I have two inches off my waist and hips as the goal really, how many pounds would that be? Dr Google suggests 10lb roughly, which would certainly make me happy, but wonder if it is too much realistically for boot camp?

Birdinacage · 05/01/2015 20:55

Hopefully it will all taste nice, the house smelled delicious all day Grin

Romeyroo I managed to loose about 10lbs on the last bootcamp and I've been lc since March so as long as you stick to the rules I don't think that would be too ambitious.

SayraT · 05/01/2015 21:08

I don't know romeyroo maybe you should just concentrate on the measurements if thats what important and not worry about what your weight is. After all if you are a size 10 (or whatever size you want) you will look that weight whether you weigh 9/10 or 11 stone.

Can I come round bird?

Food Today

B: Leftover corned beef hash, coffee with cream
L: Leftover chicken and chorizo casserole with celeriac mash (I love celeriac)
D: Courgetti carbonara
S: FF yogurt, salt and vinegar peanuts, some jaffa cakes that OH left lying around

Romeyroo · 05/01/2015 22:21

Okay, I think my goal should be sticking to the rules Grin. It is really the inches which bother me, yes, (presuming I can at least lose a few more pounds, although ten would be amazing).

I like reading the meal plans for ideas. I was back at work today and overslept the alarm, so my food came from a supermarket dash,

Breakfast: plain soya yogurt and seeds mixed
Lunch: chicken salad
Dinner: smoked haddock and roasted cauliflower and kale.

Snack before dinner as I fed DC first: cucumber sticks and mayo
Snack now: stick of cheese

I am organised tonight and have my lunch ready in the fridge tomorrow and the rest of the yogurt in the office for the morning.

readyforno2 · 05/01/2015 22:42

I started back today.
B- sausages, raw mushrooms
L - broc, cauliflower, bacon and Stilton soup with double cream
D- chicken leg 1/4 with tenderstem broc and baby corn fried in butter and mushrooms with cream
S- ff yog with a splash of cream

At least 8 pints of water and 2 decaf teas with cream.

Had a look at that book on the book people site, it is a really good book. I got it for my aunt last year at Christmas, wish I'd bought two now.
