Eeek! I'm not stepping on the scales this morning, so will not be confessing all on the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

Family wedding this weekend, and no control over food means I really don't want to see what number is on the scales!

Anyway, don't forget there's also the Weight Tracker

Here's to a successful week for all of us. Hopefully those who have seen things slow down/stop will see the scales begin to move again from now on.

MrsK, i've found im not particularly hungry either. Although bloody thirsty! :)

And im an idiot. Online shopping just came and of all things i could forget to include, I FORGOT THE BLOODY EGGS!!!

MrsKoala · 28/10/2014 10:30

yes, i am thirsty all the time, i'm glad it's not just me!

BeyondPreparedForHell · 28/10/2014 10:31

Think I'm fancying tuna melt for lunch too...

Tanukisan · 28/10/2014 11:14

Right - any suggestions for what I could do with a tub of marscapone?

MrsKoala carb flu is an odd beast and seems to be different for everyone. I had nausea, headaches and a dodgy tum for almost a week. I guess it's not possible to say what combination of that plus cold you might be suffering (I have a theory that carb flu temporarily lowers your immune system- anyone know if that's a thing?- and might just make you a bit more susceptible to bugs for a bit on top of everything else).

Good news is, once you're through it you should feel great!

HauntedChesterDrawers · 28/10/2014 11:24

How do I make tuna melt then? Working from home tomorrow and it sounds like a nice, easy lunch.

masquerade · 28/10/2014 11:55

I actually love this diet!

2lb down this week, so a total of 10lb over three weeks and I can really see my body changing now.

I saw a friend on Saturday who I haven't seen for about a month and the first thing she said was 'ooh you've lost weight!' I could have kissed her. She then gave me the little bit of support I needed to pass on the cupcakes another colleague had baked - her advice was to take one home and give it to my daughter if I felt I had to accept out of politeness, but actually in the end I didn't. So I survived another weekend of nightshifts without relenting to the call of carb laden snacks, including the extra killer hour on Sunday morning when the clocks changed.

I want to lose another 3 stone by the time I'm 30 next December and with this way of eating it doesn't seem an insurmountable task anymore, even if I lose just 1lb a week from now on, with occasional gains from days off for special occasions (very special though, not just it being the weekend!) I will meet my goal.

How's that for positivity?

BeyondPreparedForHell · 28/10/2014 12:01

My tuna melt consists of spinach, tuna and grated cheese, with a spoonful of yoghurt, mixed up and bunged in the microwave. Just trying to decide whether to use one tin or two Grin

BeyondPreparedForHell · 28/10/2014 12:24

Oh, and a little garlic.

I went with two tins, and oh my god....
(Im not someone who ever share pictures of food btw!)

miffy49 · 28/10/2014 12:28

Haunted, the recipe Biwi posted was tuna, glug of cream and chopped spring onion all topped off with grated cheese. I slipped up last time and used crème fraiche (didn't read the label until it was in!) and I think it was even nicer! I have a combi microwave so I do mine on micro+grill and the cheese gets toasty. I love it on a green salad. I've also done it with mayo when cream was short. That works but not quite a luscious. Smile

SayraT · 28/10/2014 12:32

There is nothing wrong with sharing pictures of food, I don't share pictures like this on FB or anything but here is helpful as people can see what things look like/are supposed to look like.

I made the chicken base pizza BIWI talked about earlier, I tried to be smart and bought breast steaks and I thought they'd be thinner to start with and they were reduced. It didn't work out as they were small, I used two. I had mushrooms and cheese on top, they were yummy.

We did once upon a time have a pictures of food thread.

miffy49 · 28/10/2014 14:04

Ohhhh! You've set me off now, Sayra!

I'm doing the dratted Fat Fast again as I'm still losing/gaining the same 2-3lb. I thought things were looking up for me but I've only lost a couple of pounds over the last 3mths despite being strict BC. I'm having tuna melt tonight but I'm sure I could jiggle the pizza chicken in tomorrow if I added a good dollop of mayo to my salad to up the fat.

Hoping something is happening as I'm on day 2 and I feel pretty rubbish. Not hungry at all. Sort of slightly nauseous and headachey.

Tanukisan · 28/10/2014 14:42

Ooh, what's a fat fast?!

HauntedChesterDrawers · 28/10/2014 15:13

Cor, that tuna melt looks amazing - definitely lunch for tomorrow. I've only got shallots so will use them instead but sure that will be ok?

Am also having chicken pizza for tea tonight Sarya and now I've seen it, I can't wait.

Bloody love this diet Grin

MrsKoala · 28/10/2014 15:45

aaaaargh just had a row with dh and i really want to eat a packet of biscuits dipped in tea. I've had some olives and cheese cubes instead but i still feel shit. I am trying to focus on me looking gorgeous and leaving him and possibly hooking up with that vicar from Grantchester Grin

SayraT · 28/10/2014 16:20

MrsK just think about how much more shit you will feel if you do that. You will feel good for a few minutes while you do it but then shortly after you will regret it. You know you will.

Is there anything else you can do instead of eating at all? Go for a walk, go for a bath, make that cup of tea but just have tea? These are all things I do.

If you really need to/want to eat something then what is your favourite LC thing? What about a bit of BClite and some berries (if you have any) with cream or FF yogurt?

MrsHerculePoirot · 28/10/2014 16:34

Don't do it MrsK - you will have that lovely virtuous feeling in the morning. If you are anything like me, if you do it, you'll only be very annoyed with myself!

miffy49 · 28/10/2014 16:35

Not something you need to worry about at this stage Tanukisan! Its for people who have been low carbing for a long time and hit a stall that has lasted a loooong time. You work through various other tweaks first. Its a bit of a last resort and involves having 1000 to 1200 cals per day of which 80-90% are fat. You only do it for between 3 and 5 days. If this doesn't knock me off the plateau and bring the Whoosh Fairy knocking on the door I think it will be a case of just accepting my current weight (even though I still need to lose at least 2st) and settling for improved cognitive function and improved blood glucose. Keep your fingers and toes crossed! Grin

miffy49 · 28/10/2014 16:40

I'm with the others MrsK. The biscuits wont solve the problem and will just make it all worse as they will erode your self esteem. If you fall into the biscuits you are letting him win a bit of the battle. No biscuit tastes as good as you will feel if you hold out. Smile Flowers

MrsKoala · 28/10/2014 16:57

Thanks all, i have ridden it out now. i had a big cup of tea but no biscuits. however, i am now so cross and frustrated with the dc i think a glass of white wine may be on the cards later. i'm allowed the odd one aren't i?

Notsoskinnyminny · 28/10/2014 17:19

Well done MrsK. I had a bit at the weekend, about 2" in the bottom of the glass and sipped and savoured it with my meal rather than glugging a glass without realising and then drowned it in soda. I did have a big mouthful of DHs a bit later when the dog was mithering to investigate what the cat had brought home Grin

wooobatsandghouls · 28/10/2014 17:31

Bitchy for you Thanks

BestIsWest · 28/10/2014 18:21

Quick, is there anything I can have from the takeaway to go with tandoori chicken?

BestIsWest · 28/10/2014 18:23

mrs K glad you are feeling a bit better now.

Username12345 · 28/10/2014 18:25

I can't stop thinking of the first banned food I will eaten after BC Halloween Grin

B: Friend eggs in butter
L: Greek yog with double cream (both full fat)
D: Chicken curry w/ cauliflower rice and mixed veg.

Water 2L so far. Will have had 3 or 4L by the end of the night.

ClashCityRocker · 28/10/2014 18:31
