Week 3 - Pre-Christmas Low Carb Bootcamp - the fork in the road ...

BIWI · 13/10/2014 07:39

Good morning! (not that there's much good about it, from what I can see out of the window ...)

So we're at the end of the first two weeks. Felt like forever, didn't it? Grin

Come and tell us how you got on on the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

... or keep it to yourself on on the Weight Tracker

I hope that you have seen a good loss over these two weeks, because you do need to prepare yourself for the infamous weeks 3 and 4, where it is very, very, very, very common to see weight loss slow, stop or even reverse slightly

IF YOU FIND THIS IS HAPPENING, DON'T PANIC!

Keep calm and Bootcamp on ...

as we might say if we had our own posters Grin Just keep on keeping on, and things will start to move again very soon. However, the rate of loss will now - from here on - be at a more sustainable rate of 1-2lbs per week. (If you have a lot to lose it might be a bit more than this, but please don't expect to see massive losses every week - that way madness lies!)

And now you have a choice.

You can stay on Bootcamp if it suits you (but please promise me that you're getting your carbs from vegetables and salad), or you can move to Bootcamp Light, which means you can introduce a few berries and nuts/seeds, as well as re-introduce alcohol in moderation. Rules for Bootcamp Light are on the spreadsheet (look at the tabs at the bottom)

Or, you can do Bootcamp during the week and Bootcamp Light at the weekend.

Whatever you decide, I hope it goes well for you.

Flowers for all those still with us!

3lb down! Will add weight to spreadsheet later, so that's a 10lb drop over the two weeks. Chuffed, especially after a slip at the weekend.

Think I might stick with BC during the week and BC lite on weekends.

Going to try and get back into exercise too, so at least if the weight loss is slowing my body composition will be changing. Will also start measuring so the scale doesnt start depressing me!

ChesterDrawers · 13/10/2014 07:59

I stayed the same. No surprise as the scales have been telling me that all week. I'm sure it's to do with AF being due though as I've got sore boobs and my rings are tight. I will not let it get me down and will indeed keep on keeping on.

I'm also planning on doing BC during the week then having a few wines at the weekend. Not too bothered about fruit but might occasionally have a few berries with my Greek yog.

I know this can happen, but I have NO appetite whatsoever. I just don't feel hungry and could happily not bother eating at all. I am going to keep forcing myself to have three meals a day when I can face it as I don't want to be eating too little. Anyone else having this? I've LC'd before but this symptom has always evaded me in the past. Feels odd!

Today:
B: Scrambled eggs, cream, butter
L: Left over pulled pork, home made coleslaw
D: Salmon wrapped in Parma ham, courgette ribbons, roast swede

Tanukisan · 13/10/2014 08:00

I'm a bit non-plussed by weighing myself yesterday at 166 and then today at 167.6 but there you go, the trend is downwards!

Could someone please add me to the spreadsheet? Can't seem to get it open while on 3G.

SayraT · 13/10/2014 08:05

Well done HRH008 Flowers fantastic loss so far.

clash 10lbs in two weeks is fabulous, you must be really chuffed Grin

I am 3lbs down since last week but still 1lb up on my starting weight, begining to wonder if I got my start weight wrong/weighed on an 'up' fluctuation. Anyway, never mind, onwards and downwards Smile

Didn't log food yesterday so here goes:

B: Fry up (bacon, sausage (delicious beef sausages, very juicy), black pudding), coffee with cream
L: Not hungry, breakfast was late
D: Lamb taco bake (basically taco bake - on recipe thread - with added peppers, tomatoes and aubergine in the meat) with salad (lettuce, cucumber and cherry tomatoes)

Food Today:

B: Bacon (last wee slice), egg in a cup (x2), coffee with cream
L: Last nights leftover lamb taco bake and salad
D: Duck breast, celeriac mash, broccoli

I love this WOE, I am into the "reduced hunger and not bothered about carbs stage". OH had a chocolate bar yesterday which I wasn't interested in and we also went to Ikea (madness!) and DIDN'T buy Daim Grin

SayraT · 13/10/2014 08:08

Done Tanukisan well done, nearly 6lbs in 2 weeks, almost half a stone Smile

Chester TOTM can be a pain, at least you STS and didn't gain. I agree the appetite loss thing is very unusual, especially if you are used to being hungry all the the time! Fingers crossed for a nice loss next week Smile

MrsHerculePoirot · 13/10/2014 08:12

STS which is ok as I had a big loss last week and haven't been perfect this week - not enough water led to tiredness and a couple of slips. Nothing terrible, but not good enough!!!!!

CQ · 13/10/2014 08:14

Morning all, well done you losers.

Not sure what's going on with me but the last 2 days my weight has crept UP - despite sticking to the rules and exercising.

I am -ahem- a bit bunged up so am about to have a strong coffee which usually gets things movingBlush. Will weigh in after that 'adjustment'. Am hoping not to have a 3lb poo though, that might be a bit eye-watering.

Sorry, that's all too much for a Monday morning isn't it? Grin

BiggerYellowTaxi · 13/10/2014 08:24

I'm down 2lbs this week so 8lbs in total. I was lower yesterday but I'm assuming my hardly eating anything yesterday due to sickness (counterintuitively) means I weigh more today. Bonkers.

I feel a bit better today and have had my normal egg muffins for breakfast. I'll probably have a chicken salad with mayo for lunch and dinner is roast chicken probably with broccoli and cabbage.

Hope everyone has a good weigh-in and well done to those who've weighed already!

RatherBeOnThePiste · 13/10/2014 08:25

Think I will be doing the same as Chester and clash- bootcamp during the week, then lite at weekends.

Haven't had a drink for two weeks now, that might change Grin

Weighing in tomorrow, good luck and well done for losses.

Pisseslikeahorse · 13/10/2014 08:26

Think I'm going to stay on bootcamp as I'm in the midst of a decent running programme and its working / I feel better with less dairy.

2lb down this morning and very baggy, got the doctors tomorrow for a discussion about a goal weight and levels of body fat etc.
Got to say that as this goes on and I'm approaching goal weight its getting allot harder mentally

RatherBeOnThePiste · 13/10/2014 08:38

Week 3 - Pre-Christmas Low Carb Bootcamp - the fork in the road ...
non126 · 13/10/2014 08:45

Morning all - some great losses posted already.

I'm very happy to report a 1.4lb loss - total 4lbs off and I'm such a slow loser I'm delighted. Like Clash I think I ought to measure so that if the scales disappoint next week, I might have lost inches rather than lbs.

Best of luck everyone - have a great LC week!

PseudoBadger · 13/10/2014 08:49

Morning all, I'm staying on full BC until at least Friday night and then might have a small glass of wine Shock

Birdinacage · 13/10/2014 09:25

Morning everyone, another 1lb off this week so now broken through into the next stone, 4lb to go and it will be another full stone lost for me and 2lb until I'm in the "healthy BMI" bracket again so I can actually go to the doctor without being told that whatever ailment I have is caused by my being too fat Hmm.

Exercise is not going as well as I hoped, had a really good session last Monday but unfortunately the next day my hip joints were agony, I really suffered until about Saturday and couldn't manage any more. I'm planning to reduce the time this week and see if that helps, once I can get the balance right I'm hoping the improved muscle strength will take some of the strain off the joints and help alleviate the problem.

Anyway, good luck for today everyone!

Sorelip · 13/10/2014 09:29

Put on 2lb. No surprise since the last 3 days have been baaaaaad. I keep losing motivation. Oh well, onwards and downwards. Need to plan some really nice low carb treats.

aNoteToFollowSo · 13/10/2014 09:35

Morning, morning all and congratulations to the losers.

I'm 2.3lbs down, which means a total loss of just over 5 pounds. I'm satisfied with my loss but am a bit alarmed to read that I should have been zooming downwards in anticipation of a stall this week and next. I think I'll stick with bootcamp for this week. Weekends have been a bit carby anyway so I suspect that in practice I'll BC during the week and go Light over the weekends.

Sayra I think I'm also feeling less hungry. Is this a noted LC side-effect then? I am still consuming vast quantities of yoghurt, cheese and above all, cream. But the sugar cravings have gone and I am seeing a small, steady loss so I think I'll leave in all the high-fat dairy for now. The cream certainly is filling!

Good luck CQ on the un-bunging front. Remember BC is rooting for youGrin

And thanks Piste for that inspiring poster. Love it

readyforno2 · 13/10/2014 09:46

Hi everyone. Some great losses!! Well done HRH! That's amazing Smile
I'm going to jump on the scales on Wednesday so won't know till then.
As I only have two weeks on Thursday till my dress fitting I am going to carry on with bootcamp, I may stray into bc lite on a Saturday..

gointothewoods · 13/10/2014 10:40

I was delighted this morning to discover that my belt is gone in another notch, so that's about 2 inches lost from my belly. Very happy with that! Smile

Well done all, liking all the positivity today!

Siximpossible · 13/10/2014 11:00

2lb down. Very pleased. This WOE is awesome - I scarcely feel that I'm dieting. I mean, for heavens sake, I feel peckish so I take a couple of spoonfuls of cream!

I'm sticking to BC.

Chester, if you're not hungry, just eat less. You don't have to eat if you're full, and psychologically it's better if you listen to and respect your sensations regarding food.

Well done everyone Smile

StuntNun · 13/10/2014 11:02

I've lost the half a pound I gained last week and another half pound on top of that so I'm a pound down over the last two weeks. I'm very relieved as the weight had been piling on rather too quickly before that. I'm not actively trying to lose weight at the moment but I don't want to gain a lot either. I've optimistically ordered a size 12 witch costume for Halloween so fingers crossed that will fit me in a few weeks. Otherwise I'll have to dig out last years ever so forgiving nun costume.

prettybird · 13/10/2014 11:15

3 lbs off, so that is half a stone in two weeks :)

....felt very virtuous as dh opened two bottles of wine over the weekend and I didn't have any :)Wine I did have rather too many nuts though as I'd slipped up in my snack availability and hadn't arranged for a proper alternative for me when dh and ds had pizza last night Hmm

Having said that, I'll be having a glass tonight as a friend is coming over for supper and we're having roast pork. As he is dh's Master of Wine study buddy, it would be rude not to Wink (He was over on Thursday night too but I managed to restrict myself to literally just a taste of the wine he had brought over).

I was going to start the 30 Day Shred this week, to counter the Weeks 3-5 stall, but ds is on holiday this week, so I'll leave it until next week before starting Hmm I know, excuses, excuses Blush

yongnian · 13/10/2014 11:45

Well, according to my scales, the 2lb loss I have been moaning about, has gone back on...which i suppose means i STS so I guess that serves me jolly well right!!
I think I know why...have been stranded in the house with v poorly 8yo and non-poorly 7 mth old, all weekend and stretched to the max. Water down a bit, but crucially, cos we live very rural, needed to top up the fridge and just was not able to. So was reduced to just grabbing food - probably not enough...and a few carby slip ups as a result.
Ah well, lesson learned, will be able to get out to restock tomorrow and refocus, exercise etc etc.
Still feeling loads better for doing it, still committed, still changing shape, still know this is the right WOE for me.
There has been another background situation going on which usually triggers a major stress reaction as well, and I've come through that more intact eating-wise than I would usually, so also pleased about that.
Well done everybody else!! Flowers

Username12345 · 13/10/2014 11:57

My weight on the spreadsheet was wrong last week Blush

I weigh myself in stones and then convert it online into lbs for the spreadsheet but the google converter was wrong probably because I inputted it wrong

But I've put it right now.

Lost 5lbs this week Smile

Well done everyone.

Downwards and onwards!

ChesterDrawers · 13/10/2014 12:44

Just been to Aldi and they have 3 x leeks and caulis at 59p if anyone's interested!

Cauli pizza here I come Grin

Hobbes8 · 13/10/2014 12:51

I've STS this week, which is disappointing but I remain upbeat.

This week: more water, more fats (just put a big dollop of Mayo on my usual salad), and, ahem, more unbunging and I'm sure I can do better.
