Welcome everyone! I'm starting the thread early because I have to be up and out of the house at stupid o'clock tomorrow morning.

Here is the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness for you to enter your starting weight

If you don't want to put your weight on the public spreadsheet, you can enter it on the weight tracker. (This probably won't be available until tomorrow morning)

If you've joined up very recently, and your name isn't on the spreadsheet, just add it on at the bottom - the very lovely SayraT will re-alphabetize everything later.

Haha, I remember dolphin pose. Originated in the jan bootcamp and agree it's bloody lovely.

Today's plan is:

B: Lidl Greek yog, cream, cinnamon
L: prosecco and blue cheese omelette, salad, olive oil
D: slow cooker beef stroganoff, sour cream, cauli rice

Going to try for a 5k interval run too, hoping not to feel as shit as yesterday!

ChesterDrawers · 01/10/2014 06:55

Prosciutto not prosecco!

One track mind Blush

BIWI · 01/10/2014 06:55

Figrus - why are you eating nuts? They aren't allowed until Bootcamp Light!

Are you eating enough, if you're still hungry? You will find, in the next few days, that you won't be hungry - but it is important to eat enough. It's a tricky balance - low carbing isn't carte blanche to stuff your face Grin - but it's also not a way of eating which is about deprivation.

If you're hungry, have a snack. Just make sure it's a Bootcamp approved one!

3lbs off this morning!

BIWI · 01/10/2014 07:11

Brilliant! I'm 1.5lbs down so far - really pleased with that, especially as my food has been a bit erratic to say the least!

OK BIWI you can put your big stick away Grin I am tucking into a bowl of mushrooms fried in butter, bit of ham and tomato and smothered in melted cheese - and its yum.

Hope everyone has a good day.

ClashCityRocker · 01/10/2014 07:46

Oh that breakfast sounds yum. TaffyandTeeny

Today I'm having bacon and mushroom for breakfast,
Scrambled eggs for lunch
Chicken with courgettes, aubergine and a few bits of peppers with chorizo.

I'm a bit worried I'm having too much protein and not enough fat....

CrabbyTheCrabster · 01/10/2014 07:53

low carbing isn't carte blanche to stuff your face

WHAT??? Shock BIWI how could you just spring this on me now??! Sad
Grin

FannyBurney · 01/10/2014 07:58

Morning! Stinking cold but no carb flu as have been bc light a week already. Not lost much, but feel sort of smoother, so not stressing.

Yesterday: Hard boiled eggs bfst and lunch. Lucky to have a school canteen and it's luck of the draw yes I need to plan better. Good vinegary red cab salad.
Then later oily guacamole; leftover mackerel pâté; leftover chicken curry;broccoli. Ginger infusion. Sudafed.

Today
B: Bit of strong cheddar coffee splash coconut milk

Feeling strong though I know that I am going to start 2 week bc again after 2 unavoidable social events this weekend.

RatherBeOnThePiste · 01/10/2014 08:12

Morning Brew

Low carbing going just fine, huzzah.

Just waiting for the plumber, my wonky downstairs loo has sprung a mahoooosive leak. Arse! Literally!

JamTree · 01/10/2014 08:44

Morning all! I'm really enjoying this WOE and not hungry at all! I tend to comfort eat when I'm feeling overwhelmed at work but haven't felt the urge to reach for the cake or sweets on offer in our office at the moment. Who'd have thunk that could happen so easily?!

Yesterday was pretty good:
Breakfast - scrambled egg, spring onion and mushrooms cooked in butter and black pepper.
Lunch - home made Sri Lankan style curry with broccoli and carrots
Dinner - bolognese (Jamie Oliver Ministry of Food recipe), courgette "pasta" and full fat total yoghurt.
1 latte, 1 tea.
Snack - Pret protein pot - 2 boiled eggs with spinach

Figrus · 01/10/2014 08:52

Biwi , i ate nuts cos i was hungry and they usually are a daily part of my diet. I eat fish and rashers, no other meat and haven't for 35 years. So cant snack on meat. I read the vegetarian bootcamp option and they are allowed nuts... But i am reluctantly willing to resist from eating nuts for the first two weeks if you deem it effective in losing weight in my particular case?

aNoteToFollowSo · 01/10/2014 09:13

Morning all. Delighted and a bit incredulous to discover I am down two pounds down this morning. Seems so quick.

Oh my fellow boot campers do not ever eat three hard boiled eggs for breakfast. With a bit of leftover cream at the bottom of the carton. I now feel leaden and sick. It's strange because I can happily eat a 3-egg omelete. But boiled … never again.

BIWI would you be so kind as to post your much praised recipe for creamy leeks with cheese on top please? I am sure it is in the recipe thread but that is a lorra, lorra pages to read through to find a recipe.

I'm another one delighted to report that my sugar cravings are much reduced. But I was hungry by 4pm yesterday (when I usually reach for the fruit and biscuits). I stuck to a low carb snack though.

Am off to sit very, very still for a while, till my breakfast stops making itself felt.

MrsGuyMartin · 01/10/2014 09:19

Just having a sneaky catch up in work. Yesterday went pretty well apart from DS1 asking 'WHY aren't you having baked potato like us? Can I have avocado instead?' So yesterday I had...

B: Total with cream and a tiny touch of vanilla paste (I've tried extract and cinnamon and neither are doing it for me)
L: Boiled egg, mini pepparami x2, babybel, celery, coffee with cream (we were out and about and this pretty much stuffed me)
T: FFF(chorizo flan) with avocado, mixed green salad and dressing.

W: 2.5ltrs (it was more but lost track)
Tea x1; Herbal tea x1

PrimalLass · 01/10/2014 09:33

Morning Grin

W/I 11st4. 2lbs off. The scale was flickering between 3 and 4, but settled on 4 Hmm

I have a huge Tesco shop coming this morning.

B: ham, tomatoes and mozzarella baked in the oven. Again.
L: maybe cauliflower and bacon soup.
D: the spag bol that I didn't get round to making yesterday. In a pepper.

I have ordered the ingredients to make this mock lemon danish

Tenementfunster · 01/10/2014 09:36

A note.... I did the creamy leeks and it was literally chop up your leeks chick some double cream on and grate sone cheese on top. Put them in oven for about 25 mins on 190

Tenementfunster · 01/10/2014 09:37

Sorry, many typos there

Liveinthepresent · 01/10/2014 09:39

Morning all - struggled a bit this morning as DS was up at 5 and I felt so lacking in energy / a bit carb flu like and just couldn't face anything I am allowed to eat.
I did avoid the biscuit tin though - and eventually made some bacon and scrambled eggs so still on track.

Have now realised I am going to have a challenging weekend of social obligation as PIL are visiting.
Will post on questions thread but really need to think about easy meals that I can adapt to meet their very traditional tastes.
So far I am thinking I may do slow cooked gammon with veg and cauliflower cheese - just adding some spuds to keep them happy.
I am sure that's not ideal but I know from experience it's hard enough avoiding the cakes MIL will have lovingly baked so I need to just plan as best I can...
Any ideas welcome!
Have a good day everyone

aNoteToFollowSo · 01/10/2014 09:56

thanks tenement . I think that's my lunch then. If I ever eat in my life again, that is, after my three boiled eggs for brekkie. So not good.

Forgot to say that I also felt unusually sluggish at the gym this morning. Could this be related to what we are eating? How?

Liveinpresent sorry if I am being dense, but can you not just do standard family meals and skip the carbs? e.g. spaghetti bolognaise and skip the spaghetti, roast chicken and leave out the roast spuds again, fish in cheese saucy and skip the mashed potato on the side … that sort of thing? All with veg of course.

Would be grateful if anyone could remind me how you lot make cauliflower cheese. Is it just steam/bake cauli, then pour over cream and grate cheese over? Isn't it a bit watery? Is there anyway to get the nice thick sauce one gets with a flour-based white sauce? Sorry, again I know its probably on the recipe thread but there is just so much to read there.

rybka13 · 01/10/2014 09:58

StuntNun that is the purest evil ever Shock, next step must be "i am on grain free diet" haha...but they may buy chocolate...not laughing now Confused

CQ · 01/10/2014 10:08

Morning, thank you all so much for your kind words about my friend. I had a v sniffly day yesterday but managed not to fall into the chocolate and carbs - I 'grazed mindfully' on greek yoghurt, pork scratchings and chicken drumsticks - thank god the fridge was stocked with the right things.

I am going to spend a few moments today looking for rude cards and photos of sexy doctors to send my lovely friend. It's hard to know for how long she will actually be able to read before her sight starts to be affected. Her husband was so brave and upbeat on the phone and we talked for ages, but afterwards I realised that I don't have his mobile number or email, only hers, and it would be easier to get quick updates from him via text. I'll have to get his number from her before she deteriorates more.

I'm desperate to go and see her but she's up in Scotland and I'm down south. I need to book some flights and get up there, but there's a good chance she won't be up to visitors. I've another favourite auntie even further north so I can tie in a visit there too and hopefully get to see them both.

In other news, scales are showing a pretty impressive loss already so that's great news Grin

Have a great day everyone - I'm off to hear a talk by Ranulph Fiennes today, who is a long term older-man-crush of mine so I'm v excited about that!!

CrabbyTheCrabster · 01/10/2014 10:16

aNote here's my recipe for cauli cheese. It's cheeeeeeesy! There are probably less dairy laden ones but I do love my cheese and cream.

CrabbyTheCrabster · 01/10/2014 10:18

MrsGuy did you like the FFF?

rybka13 · 01/10/2014 10:34

CQ good luck with your plans, I had to google Ranulph with many surnames (more than me hah, jealous) as me being not so to say British background, sounds very interesting. I hope you will manage to see your friend if not in person then Skype maybe?

I am joining in pain with fellow bootcampers and home disasters. I scrolled through chat and came across loo overflow and hob/fuses drama. I managed to set shopping on fire yesterday Blush...how responsible... Everybody is fine but we spent afternoon outside with me crying into DS's muslin cloth. Surprisingly only plastic bag and about 20 disposable razors burnt but the smoke and stench plus fire alarms were impressive.Kitchen still stinking. Evil things these razors

Liveinthepresent · 01/10/2014 10:56

anotetofollow no I think it's me being dense ! I got a total mental block about it mainly as we always eat the same (unhealthy!) things and I can't face being questioned about what I am not eating and why!
Am sorted - thanks to crabby - it's a meat and cheese platter type affair for lunch and either gammon or chicken for the other 'main' meal on Sunday - Simple !
