Hello all - you are moving so quickly I am struggling to keep up.

My weight loss for the week is 5lbs.

I was hoping for more, as Ii have so much to lose, but I am also conscious that this has to be a long term change. I am considering doing Bootcamp for longer than the 2 weeks originally planned, as this WOE does suit me. The end of this week will become more difficult, as my DH will be coming home from his travels to the UK, and I will go back to cooking for both of us, which is going to be far more difficult, but I will ask him to help me.

linesandlines - do not give up, we are all here to support each other, and it sounds like we all have to figure out what suits each of us best.

Locarblil · 12/05/2014 16:05

Stunt - brilliant - thank you. It's fantastic seeing real life weight loss ups and downs. One of the Hmm things about weightwatchers was that the leader used to assume you must've cheated if you put on a pound, which is v annoying if you haven't.

Lowcarbforthewin - so envouraging, I have a good chunk to lose (ideally 3-4 stone I think, so taking the long view is going to be essential (whatever that is)

LittleMissDisorganized · 12/05/2014 16:41

Wow, very very well done to all who have lost - when you first start the first week whoosh is one of the most uplifting things I have experienced. I am Grin with you all.

Nothing here, but a 4lb whoosh last week, and as it's been a good few months I wouldn't expect much this week.

lines the water is the thing that really leaps out at me. Someone said on the last bootcamp "No drinkee water, no losee weight." Very true. you might get to keep your strawberries and cream yet! just realised several someone elses have said this

lowcarbforthewin you are really inspirational, and if it needs to be a stone a year, then so be it - we are all moving in the right direction. I'm so impressed by what you've achieved not just in your body, but i bet this way of thinking that is so positive is part of your achievement too.

StuntNun you should write a book. Honestly, you make science really understandable and the way you write is really encouraging. Maybe the science part to BIWI's motivational part and Crabby's cooking part or maybe just one of your own, there's a big market out there for this stuff I think.

I've got a tummy bug of some sort, and have been really tired and headachy as well. Tried to eat a bit, but have leg cramps too now (magnesium needed probably, will supplement as can't eat enough). Urgh, it's sunny out and I'm flopped on the settee feeling a bit fed up with things. This thread has made me smile though :)

spamm · 12/05/2014 16:43

Can somebody please put my weight in the spread sheet - 209 lbs. I cannot out it in, it keeps telling me permissions have changed. Or is there something I need to do first.

Thanks

readyforno2 · 12/05/2014 16:59

Today made me realise I really hate celeriac..

B - Greek yog
L - homemade broccoli and cauliflower soup with a dash of cream, salad with a teaspoon of sour cream and chives
D - pork medallions with mushrooms, courgettes and celeriac mash
S - small salad with two carrot batons

So far 3 pints of water, one coffee and two herbal teas

lowcarbforthewin · 12/05/2014 17:02

Thank you guys! I have really had to change my outlook and battle my comfort eating, it's been a long journey. Just want to get the last leg of it over and done with so I can enjoy my new body more. I haven't worn shorts in 20 years, or a skirt above my knees, or really much fitted at all. In about another stone, I cannot WAIT to go shopping for those sorts of things.

If I can do this, anyone can. And yes, even if I still just lose a pound a month, so looking forward to 12 months time when that all adds up.

Had boiled duck eggs for breakfast with wild garlic pesto. Oh my god, that is the best breakfast.

Lunch was leftover mince with avocado and a bowl of yogurt with coconut cream. 5 hours ago, and not hungry yet! I love that feeling.

Either sprats and veg for supper or hamburgers. Just did a food order too- ordered as chicken dish which involves the criminally yummy combination of Parmesan cheese and Parma ham...except, oh wait, I can eat that with no guilt! Grin.

CQ · 12/05/2014 17:12

Well I'm back from my posh lunch and it was worse than I feared - not only a set menu but wine tasting too. Each course came with two glasses of wine and you had to taste them and guess which was Californian and which was French. Confused

I did lots of sniffing and swirling and had just a sip of each so I could participate. By the end of the meal I had 6 virtually untouched glasses of wine in front of me. How times have changed. I should have taken a photo - DH will never believe me.

Food was ok - asparagus soup, lamb with spinach ravioli and mushrooms - I cut out the spinach and left the pasta. Dessert was tricky - cheesecake with berries. I ate a few berries, tried half a spoonful of cheesecake just so as not to offend chef.

So all in all not too much harm done, I hope. It was good to be able to navigate through a meal like that without sabotaging everything. The wheels are still on the wagon Grin

calzone · 12/05/2014 17:13

Water is the key.

And butter.

I cube it small and eat in salad. Buy the best you can afford.

MarcusAurelius · 12/05/2014 17:33

I've just downed 1.5L of water less than an hour before i go to bootcamp. that was bloody stupid i meant to have some now and take the rest with me. I'll be sloshing around the field tonight.

lowcarbforthewin · 12/05/2014 17:37

CQ that sounds pretty impressive, well done for resisting the temptation to dive in.

I just made kale chips, and wow they taste better than I expected. So easy too. I will be making lots more. I put olive oil and salt on them.

Locarblil · 12/05/2014 17:50

Not a good day here. Stuck to the BC but way too much dairy and not enough veg or water. Playing catch up now & chugging water, but that means loo visits every half hour which my 2 cherubic -looking DC take full advantage of for mischief.

So B - greek yoghurt with cream & vanilla essence, Coffee w cream
L - 2 slices of cheese & ham, grabbed as I rushed small children to dance classes. Failed to plan!
D- will be pulled pork with piles of green beans, broccolli & cauliflower

S - yoghurt again, coffee again, and asparagus tips with butter on them, dipped into tzazaki. There's evry likelihood that lots of olives will be consumed this evening.

I'm still really hungry (as you can see from that huge food intake) and grouchy. Could be PMT I guess?

SayraT · 12/05/2014 18:02

I saw earlier that some people had had problems with spreadsheet, I am heading out soon but will look back though thread and try and sort any issues when I am back.

If you want you can remind me what you issues were to save me going back through thread Grin

pingufan · 12/05/2014 18:04

Well I'm back on it like sonic after the bug but poor ds has caught it now. It's times like this I'm glad I don't have 10 kids!

So today I've eaten my body weight in pig today as I'm eating up the lovely roast pork joint that I'd cooked Saturday night ready for Sunday that none of us could face eating - menu as follows

B - 2 eggs scrambled with slices of pork
L- slices of pork with cucumber sticks and mayo
D - slices of pork with boiled cauli, broccoli, leeks with butter

Had to laugh at hubby - the face he pulled as I put a large slab of butter on my veg. 'That can't be good for you' he said as he tucked into his veg with chicken pie and gravy....

JaneParker · 12/05/2014 18:09

B: 2 slices of bacon fried in olive oil with green papers; 3 egg yolks poached.
L (my main meal - late around 3): fried salmon in olive oil fried with a whole avocado sliced, courgettes and peppers; with spinach with butter on the side.

Went to a "Twenty four" exercise class before lunch which was good Not been to that before. It's only 24 minutes or so but high intensity and you get out of breath. Main problem was my clothes - shorts draw string broken, kept falling down, top kept riding up; bit like a Mr Bean film really. Have come back and ordered a top which joins between the legs (body) and new shorts (along with "Awfully posh" pork rind things www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00BPRGJUW/ref=pe_385721_37986871_TE_item which someone mentioned on here.

No hungry yet but will think of something for dinner. My period started so I always feel less hungry.

wombat22 · 12/05/2014 18:12

I've lost 6lbs in the last week and I'm thrilled. Well done to everyone else who has stuck to the plan, whether you have had a loss or not, and thank you all because it's reading through the thread that has kept me on track and motivated, and given tips for snack ideas. Grin

Those awfully posh rinds, are they £15 for one packet? I'm sure caviar's cheaper by weight.

JaneParker · 12/05/2014 18:24

I thought it was for a box of 14 or something so about £1 each which for me is fine but I suspect people would be a lot better off buying some real pork and eating it. I'm just trying them as an experiment. I don't really go in for any processed foods at all.

Notsoskinnyminny · 12/05/2014 18:25

2lb off for me and some great losses so keep up the good work everyone.

IWillIfHeWill · 12/05/2014 18:28

From the bottom of the week one thread:
Three pounds down. So Monday to Monday, that's a stone.
Thank you BIWI and bootcampers! I'm a low-carb convert Grin.

I've had a lovely low carb day and lots of water - its getting easier to get it down.
Last night, daughter made low carb curry and bpc and invited me round to share, which was lovely.

BIWI · 12/05/2014 18:33

Shock A stone, IWillIfHeWill?! Bloody marvellous! Flowers

locarblil - you're hungry because you're not eating enough protein/fat, I think - and you definitely need to start planning for your meals.

Staying on track today - no falling off the wagon!

My food today:
B: 2 eggs, fried mushrooms and 2 turkey sausages
L: Romaine lettuce with egg, blue cheese, grilled chicken, radish, bacon bits and avocado, with a mustard vinaigrette
D: Salmon filet with leftover cauliflower cheese and fried courgettes

I have done 1.5 liters of water so far, but working hard on the rest.

HalfSpamHalfBrisket · 12/05/2014 18:42

You can bUy them from Amazon direct for £7.68 a box of 12 with free delivery - but they are out of stock at the mo.

Redtartanshoes · 12/05/2014 18:51

Hello

I was wondering whether I could join you all?

My weight has yo-yo'd for years but it's creeping up again and I'm desperate for it to change without having much will power.

My first goal (ideal) is to loose a stone before holidays in 8 weeks.

Can anyone advise where to start? Is there a thread with the basics/meal ideas that I could read?

Many thanks
