So how did you all get on?

Just in case you've lost the link Here is the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

I hope that your first week has been rewarded by good news on the scales.

Good luck for the next week Flowers

Could you explain that you need a bit of fat to go with it and just bring some cubed cheese or a boiled egg? Add some olive oil to it to get the fats up?

ImSoOverIt · 14/05/2014 09:37

Holger - sorry to hear you 're a bit meh today. Sad

Although funnily enough I was just about to post that I'm not feeling great today either. Can't put my finger on it but I just feel really really tired and quite sad, and could easily have a good old cry if I'm honest, but I daren't give in to it as I have to much to do! Sad But I guess objectively, like you I do have a lot on my plate at the moment, but normally seem to cope a bit better.

Let's hope it passes soon! Smile

rubybricks · 14/05/2014 09:41

morning all!
no time to catch up with thread other than this page, just want to keep checking in to keep myself accountable...
B: leftover omelette Sad
L: goats cheese salad - is this ok? will be out for lunch today and had this before, it was delicious, so am hoping it's allowed (only read about no dairy the other day, i practically live on cheese...)
D: meat and veg, not sure what yet

can you tell i'm not much of a cook?! need to spend more time on the recipe thread!

hope your day brightens up Holger, at least by following this WOE you are taking control of something, that's one tiny thing that i am grateful for at the minute, when everything around me is in chaos Smile and your posts are always really encouraging to others Flowers

RatherBeOnThePiste · 14/05/2014 09:48

Morning :)

ImSoOverIt · 14/05/2014 10:11

Just wanted to post my top tip of the day - if anyone has been suffering with the dreaded constipation (which I have as I have been naughty and not drunk enough water lately), then please do try bullet proof coffee - it works! Wink (And of course drink more water)

B - mushroom and eggs fried in butter, bpc

L - leftover curry from last night

D - mushroom omelette with mayo and salad - may swap lunch and dinner depending on what I feel like and the time.

Am trying to strip it back to basics today and avoid dairy etc as the scales have got a bit stuck, but perhaps now things are moving again that won't be so much of an issue... Blush

LittleMissDisorganized · 14/05/2014 10:15

Morning all, and what a lovely morning!!
Still feeling in positive knuckling down no-nasty-sweeteners, oh no, not me, not for today, mode.
StuntNun homemade sausages sound very tempting. I have a pasta maker I hardly ever used, though, and I suspect I need to be certain that I 'want' something for a while to make sure it's not a repeat. I think they make mincer attachments that go with the mixer I have so maybe that would be a start. Hmmmm.... birthday in less than 2 months though... :)
Sayra not my taco bake (do I go on about it a bit much Blush) but I think the dish is about 6x10". I cook almost everything in it in the oven and it now has a terminal looking crack :( so will need replacing :) I've had it over 10 years so it's done pretty well
Today's menu goes like this
B: yogurt etc
L: egg and sausage mayo (l/o sausages) and salad
D: duck breasts with roasted veg (leek, cauli, broccoli)

Am wittering. Have a good day, all

costababe · 14/05/2014 10:23

Thanks Anti
Not happy about cutting out the dairy, yikes no cheese Sad
Def need to cut out the tea drinking agreed, am trying some different herbal ones so let's hope I find a replacement!
You are right about measurements still dropping from my waist and a little from my hips, but sticking like glue to my thighs!!
Sorry to hear you both down in the dumps today Holger and So over it, sending Biscuit and pretending it's a boiled egg!

Lambzig · 14/05/2014 10:43

Weighed in yesterday and lost 2 lb. Obviously I was hoping for some huge number, but its in the right direction. I now weigh the same as when I got married, which I feel is a bit of an achievement ten years and two babies later and I have less than a stone to go to my fighting fit weight. I have finally managed to add myself to the spreadsheet too.

Looking at everyone's responses, I dont think I am eating enough fat, so I have been good at cutting out carb, but not adding as much fat as I should.

I am finding the water drinking very difficult. I want to ask if I can have sparkling, but expect the answer will be no. Can I drink green tea?

At the office today so boiled eggs and turkey for breakfast (yuk). I have a client lunch so hoping I can find something to eat on the menu.

Supper will be cod with buttered spinach.

LittleMissDisorganized · 14/05/2014 12:02

Right, feeling up to a bit of a CrabbySuperReply

Actually Lambzig the answer is yes to sparkling (not flavoured obviously) - I switch back and forth during the day and it's like having a different drink!

ImSo when you say the scales are stuck are we talking days or weeks here?!

IWill after your amazingly wonderful first week you may stall a while... are you a committed daily weigher or do you think you could ignore the scales for a while

Hmmm Sayra I pondered yogurt makers last time I was in Lakeland. Bit cheaper than a sausage maker too. Admittedly, they do rather different things.... Grin. Did someone say it tastes as good?? And can you use non-milk milk ie. soya?

StringBean everyone is different, it's not beyond the realms of possibility to still feel rough/ weak/ tired. Are you adding salt to food and eating magnesium containing food?

WeShould depends how you feel and what's more important. If the job interview is vital and you feel awful, and you are prepared to put your weight loss off by a week or so, try having some brown toast or similar beforehand. It's a really personal decision, either may be the right course for you. GOOD LUCK!!! We had great luck on the last thread in that both Peony and I went for new jobs and got them, I wish you all our luck transferred to you for yours.

KikitheKitKat · 14/05/2014 12:10

I think I lost 2lb (though it would have been a bit more accurate if I'd actually weighed myself at the start!).

monkeyfacegrace · 14/05/2014 12:24

lambzig I live on sparkling water. I have 3l a day with a splash of NAS lemon or lime squash (I literally mean a dash)

I categorically could not do this woe without it.

I've had today,
B: Pork scratchings and cheese on the go.
L: Huge amount of fried turkey thighs on top of iceberg lettuce and ceaser dressing
D: Habenero marinated chicken wings and roast broccoli and cauliflower.

Lost a touch more this morning too.

Desperate to be 140lb when I fly off on holiday next week (and that'll be a challenge for my willpower, going all inclusive )

WeShouldOpenABar · 14/05/2014 12:25

thanks littlemiss I was a bit foggy tbh I repeated myself a couple of times and tried to shake hands while walking through a revolving door! not the best impression but I have my fingers crossed and the scales seem to be going right direction too so I'll take your luck and run away with it Grin

IWillIfHeWill · 14/05/2014 12:31

A little bit puzzled at being hungry. I've had a two-buttery-egg breakfast and, ahem, lunch (already. I was hungry...) and some coconut cream and nutmeg and I'm ravenous. But when I have a meal, a plate is too much for me, I find I leave some. Little and often I suppose. So saying that, I might go and look for a teeny amount of cheese...

JaneParker · 14/05/2014 13:04

I think little often is not great for most people - three big meals is much better with long gaps in between. you will gradually stop feeling hungry between meals. So the two eggs compare that to my breakfasts - 3 eggs and 2 slices of bacon - the bacon friend in olive oil with peppers. That is about 2 or 3x your breakfast.

Yes, sparking water is fine but not those waters which are low cal with all kinds of junk and E numbers and low sugars and flavourings added in. Just have plain normal sparkling water. I only like still tap water so that's cheap.

BIWI · 14/05/2014 13:45

2.25lbs down for me since Monday, which I'm really pleased about. I have until next Thursday before I go away to San Sebastian - a foodie's paradise I have been told - with DH.

Best1sWest - yay! Hopefully the start of losing many! Your menus look fine, the only thing I would say is to keep an eye on dairy. That might be something that's affecting you.

MintyCool - try listing your menus for us over the last few days, and let's see if we can help. If you're hungry though, you aren't eating enough, and probably not enough fat. Try mashing your boiled eggs with butter or mayo, and make sure you're adding an oily dressing to your salad.

Hello all - trying to touch base early before my day gets crazy - only 9.00am here

So today I feel OK and I have dressed accordingly, wearing a slinky (I wish!) wrap dress that i always love, and one of the new pairs of shoes I bought at the weekend. But the weather is gloomy, so my view from the 11th floor is a bit bleugh!

Anyway, my plans for today:

B: Leftover taco bake and a green tea
L: Chicken avocado salad
D: Salmon and courgettes fried in olive oil and butter

Lots of water - I am trying for 4 ltrs today, as I do not think I am drinking enough - I wake up thirsty in the morning. I have not drunk anything other than water since Sunday morning, and I do not feel deprived, which is good!

DH is coming home tomorrow after 10 days in the UK, so I should get a good idea whether this has had much effect, as he will notice if that is the case and say: You are getting your slim face back...I hope he says that, anyway. Fingers crossed!

Lambzig - I drink tons of sparkling water - I use my soda stream and make bottles of the stuff, without any flavoring.

BIWI - well done! Smile

lowcarbforthewin · 14/05/2014 14:40

Doing well today.
B 2 duck eggs with pesto (hmmmmm)
L a chicken leg, 2 babybels and a salad.
Planning on having olives for a snack and sprats for supper with olive oil and veg. And maybe a bit of yogurt if I'm still hungry.
Panicking that custard apple yesterday will make my weight stall this week. I hope not !

And interesting piece supporting a low carb way of eating

Although notice that they seem to be at pains to praise protein rather than blame carbs!

StuntNun · 14/05/2014 14:52

Minty you wouldn't expect to lose weight weekly on this WOE. Have you lost any so far? Some people take longer to adapt than others, for example if you are stressed out or sleep deprived. Also if you have been on a diet recently or yo-yo dieted then it can take a whole for your metabolism to reset to a low carb way of eating. It's as if you need to heal before weight loss can start.

Oh my goodness, the sparkling water thing will change my life, thank you. I can drink that happily all day, but really struggle with plain water (it seems to taste metallic to me, even bottled stuff). Sodastream is a great idea and much more environmentally friendly.

I was sure that I had read somewhere in the threads/rules that you couldnt have carbonated drinks, but perhaps that meant the sugary or sweetener ones.

I managed to have steak and a salad for the client lunch, but drank about a litre of sparkling water (which i now wont feel bad about).

glenthebattleostrich · 14/05/2014 15:12

Hi everyone, hope you are all having a good day.

B bacon, eggs, mushroom and cherry toms cooked in butter
L peperami, 2 babybel and some pork scratchings (forgot my lunch so had to cobble something together)
T bolognese stuffed portabello mushrooms topped with cheese.
S cup of tea made with cream.
W 3.5litres

DH has decided to go low carb too, so its making meals much easier and cutting down temptation.

3lb down since Monday
