Just in case you've lost the link Here is the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

I hope that your first week has been rewarded by good news on the scales.

walking is just what I have trouble with, sadly, StuntNun.
(I am due to have 2 operations to both legs and both feet)

BUT good to know it is good for preserving muscle mass, thank you.
And GOOD suggestion re exercise if needing to lose a lot of weight like I am. I am aiming for around 10st7 so I DO have a lot to lose and I don't want to have to wheel around excess skin.

I was going to try WiiFit for general stretching exercises as I cant get out to a group class and I am a bit lazy about doing exercises off a sheet of paper. Is WiiFit any good, do you know?

glenthebattleostrich · 13/05/2014 11:18

OK, day 2 of properly doing boot camp (messed about last week, had to bake 3 cakes so didn't do well at all) and had DD's birthday with all the family and trust me the only way to deal with them all together is wine, bucket loads of wine!!

Yesterday was good, stuck to boot camp. Naughtily weighed myself again this morning and am 2 lb down today from Sunday.

Today:

B - FF Greek Yogurt, 2 teas made with single cream instead of milk - very indulgent feeling and absolutely delicious. Means I don't want sweetner, please don't take my cream away from me!!

L - Hallomi cheese fried with a huge green salad with cucumber and a tomato.

T - thin steaks fried in butter, with portabelo mushroom and feta cheese.

S - Tea made with almond milk, a babybel (if I need it), caffeine free tea with cream.

I know I'm a bit dairy heavy but I'm using this as an adjustment period whilst giving up carb heavy food and it makes me happy. Please don't take my cream.

Cherrypi · 13/05/2014 11:19

Well just discovered I'm pregnant so won't be continuing on this boot camp but thank you for introducing me to coconut cream.

StuntNun · 13/05/2014 11:19

You might be best to start a new thread asking for exercise advice. I'm sure there are lots of things you could be doing while you wait for your operations.

petalsandstars · 13/05/2014 11:23

Oh the temptation!

DH went shopping and came home with tiger loaf and ice cream. The ice cream I can pretend isn't there but I love tiger bread Sad

B. Greek yoghurt
S. Olives
L. Ham/chorizo with salad and mayo
D. Gammon and eggs and some veg tbd.

Doshusallie · 13/05/2014 11:33

Congratulations Cherrypi!

I am 3 pounds off and delighted.

SteamMopLover · 13/05/2014 11:44

Hello everyone,

I have been lurking here. I lost around 10lb in bootcamp leading to Christmas last year. Now back on. I weighed 152 when I started last week and have lost 2lb. This week I am starting gym if my daughter settles into the nursery.

Here is what I ate yesterday (will try and check in every day)

B: three egg onion and tomato omelette with green tea
L: tiny bowl of vegetable soup
D: fish and vegetables baked

Also had around liter and half of water which I know is not enough. Need to up my water.

First choice, can't answer about Wiifit as I did not get on with it,(too upright for me) but when walking was beyond me (ME/POTS) I started with floor based pilates.

firstchoice · 13/05/2014 12:34

StuntNun.
Yes, that's a good idea. I'll do that. x

LittleMissDisorganized · 13/05/2014 13:07

Cherrypi Congratulations!!! What lovely news to read

firstchoice welcome. I'm the other side of 3 lots of major orthopaedic surgery since September after a fairly life threatening injury in 2012. And I was relieved to read that in terms of getting weight off, exercise makes far, far less of an impact than changing what you eat does. I don't know why I'd not realised this before!! And I can't walk far, but (when I don't have a cast or a healing wound) I can swim, at a disabled session surrounded by people who can do really very little in some cases. I can also self-propel (in a wheelchair) but can't do anything that requires me to get on and off the floor, even now. I think on losing upwards of 4 stone (which I will need to do in total) if one keeps it off, a bit of surgical help is often needed (and after all these surgeries what's one more?!) but that's an issue for another day, or year. You are amongst comfort eating friends here!! - me as well there.

Peony I must have missed the day of the abattoir for you last time Grin

Week 2 - Low Carb Bootcamp - The First Weigh-In!
LittleMissDisorganized · 13/05/2014 13:08

Realised it's tiny - 5lb a line on the y axis and months are marked from start date on the x. Ooh, and it's 4months today :)

LittleMissDisorganized · 13/05/2014 13:14

OK, months. The more observant among you will notice IT HAS GONE FLAT!!! That's why I need this bootcamp - learning to maintain is good but loss is better!! It's actually because I lost my appetite post op at the end of March... and then I found it, along with too much sweeteners. The stick has been waved. The diabetic chocolate is in the basement, and I can't manage the stairs!!

ImSoOverIt · 13/05/2014 13:44

Cherrypi! That is amazing news! I'm sure coconut cream is pregnancy friendly, so no need to give up your new found treat! Grin

SirNoel · 13/05/2014 13:45

Congrats Cherry

Coconut cream is delish. I've just been having it straight up -from the carton in a bowl. Not dreaming about having melted dark choc drizzled into it in a few weeks time, not me, hoh no siree

FeathersMcGraw · 13/05/2014 13:51

Hi All,

I've just updated my weight on the spreadsheet of awesomeness - 3lb off this week-yay!

However, I did actually start bootcamp the previous Wednesday (wanted to align with when I do the supermarket run) so had already lost 6lb when bootcamp officially started.

So total loss 9lb - get in!!!

I'm finding exercise a bit easier now - parkrun on day 4 was truly miserable. But am okay now and off to cycle around Donington Park this evening with dd1 :)

Onwards and downwards...

BIWI · 13/05/2014 13:55

Congratulations, cherry! Flowers

Just had a big bowl of Thai chicken soup with shiritaki noodles - really hit the spot, but too low in fat I think - any suggestions for fatting it up? Also, any recommendations for soup in general? I find it really works for me at lunchtime, but all my recipes seem to be low fat :(

calzone · 13/05/2014 14:09

Broccoli and blue cheese is a favourite here.

Cream of celeriac is fab too!

Thumbwitch · 13/05/2014 14:09

Congratulations Cherrypi!

I am starting tomorrow. Things went very tits up yesterday, ended up falling asleep with toddler in the end, and today I had to go to Sydney so haven't drunk nearly enough (although have eaten lowcarby today) - will weigh in tonight as starting point and go from there tomorrow.

Am also on the verge of gearing up to getting my Jillian Michaels' Shred DVD going again - I have it next to me, it just needs to go into the computer and I need to start doing it... sounds easy, huh. Should be. I have zero inclination to ACTUALLY do it though.

BIWI · 13/05/2014 14:21

Parsnipcake, stir-fry any veg/meat in lots of coconut oil before adding any stock - and choose fatty cuts of meat, so belly pork, chicken thighs, etc

lowcarbforthewin · 13/05/2014 14:21

Congrats Cherrypi!

Welcome Firstchoice. I am disabled, I have lost 5.5 stones over the last few years and I really can't exercise so it can be done. There are chair workouts on YouTube (not that I've done them, but some look good) and I have a pair of 3lb weights which once a week I try to do some basic exercises with; but it's exhausting for me so it's not a regular thing.

I am so cross with myself. Someone came round to see me and had bought me a custard apple. She was so excited about giving it to me I agreed to share half with her. Think that might have been 25g of carbs Sad. I was eating it thinking 'it's ok it won't be more than 10g tops.' So had a shock when I googled. Going to cut out veg at supper and hope it doesn't stall me. But still kicking myself.

I have been reading a blog called Sugar Free Sheila. It is so inspiring, she looks amazing and about 10 years younger than her real age. She has maintained her weight loss for about 10 years too which helps to see. Have a look if you are in need of some inspiration.

readyforno2 · 13/05/2014 14:30
