Happy nearly Easter everyone! I've been a carbytwat all week because the nice weather's meant days out and I had to suffer the outlaws last night for DH's niece's 21st he was so switched at birth, it was like an episode of shameless and the buffet was butties, butties or sausage rolls with a few pork pies on the side.

MrsHP I love babyHP's name, I bet you're relieved to have him home.

Trashy DH was totally against crating psychopup but she loved it and would often take herself off to bed if we all got a bit too much for her. She was in her element at Chatsworth yesterday being fussed over by Japanese tourists, luckily we had DD to translate and they wanted her and psychopup to join the rest of their tour.

Crabby hope you get your car sorted soon but the main thing is you and DD are ok. I'm loving the fish madness even if I don't understand it Easter Grin

Whooshy poor DD, I hope you got a refund off the CM. I got quotes for DS when he was 17 and they dropped from £2k to £800 when I changed his sex Easter Confused My insurer won't cover under 21s and he wasn't desperate to learn so I didn't switch. There's a company, Red something or other, that lets you cover them for short periods and it doesn't affect your policy or no claims should they have a prang. BTW that poor doggy does not look impressed!

Thumb hope you're enjoying your trip and well done on only putting on 2lbs.

Waves at anyone else I've missed Easter Wink

PS who do we contact at MNHQ - we need fishy and doggy smileys Easter Grin

Thumbwitch · 20/04/2014 00:49

Start a begging thread in Site stuff - it might work, you never know! Easter Grin

LittleMissDisorganized · 20/04/2014 13:17

Happy Easter everyone!!! Greatest Day in History for me - so we've had a joyful and uplifting morning at church and are going family visiting and to a local gardens that's open for the weekend. No eggs for me - I persuaded DH to by me some writing paper instead and MIL gave me some socks. Halloumi salad for lunch and I'm roasting a chicken later.

Sorry, not time for a massive post but Crabby I'm so glad you are ok, and hope the car situation gets sorted. Waves to everyone else.

Happy Easter everyone.

Had my first proper carby food for ages this weekend though have been very free with berries, nuts, yogurt, dark chocolate and cheese since bootcamp finished. And tea with milk. That's quite a list isn't it. I am not weighing til next bootcamp.

The verdict:
Rice - meh, only had a couple of mouthfuls
Noodles - yuk
Oatcake - disappointing, I used to love them
Cheap chocolate - urgh
Proper roast potatoes - yum

I feel knackered though, must be the carbs.

WhooshFuckerFairy · 21/04/2014 06:37

It's funny isn't it - I haven't had any milk since the start of bootcamp and even pour my tea away if it's accidentally made with milk - and I refuse to 'test' the famiy's pasta to see if it's done .......BUT ..... I managed to eat copious amounts of DD's shit chocolate yesterday - despite my 80% dark choc egg presented to my by DH !
I am a complete nutter !

BecauseImWoeufIt · 21/04/2014 10:00

It's quite illuminating, though, when you do 'give in' and eat something that previously you would have regarded as a treat, or essential food, only to discover that it's not really that nice!

EvaTheOptimist · 21/04/2014 16:46

Trash I was about to congratulate you on your only-eating-the-pie-filling victory... what has happened?

I almost refuse to use the phrase carby-twat about myself but I fear I am in danger of being one today. I've gone from very "mindful" about all the off-piste stuff to just "chocolate-chocolate-chocolate" this afternoon. Its a response to the quiet void now our Easter guests have left. I shall get back on the wagon tomorrow. (That back-to-school feeling doesn't help either!)

All a bit ironic as I've had lots of compliments on my lost-weight from the guests and (good, positive) discussions about low-carbing and guests joinng me in my low-carb breakfasts. But the moment they go...

CrabbyBlossomBottom · 21/04/2014 16:48

Hello lovelies, hope you've all had a happy Easter. Easter Smile

Thank you all for the concern and good wishes. Flowers Neck is feeling much better now thanks - just a few days of soreness and it's on the mend. It has left me a bit shaken too MrsHP, I must admit. It's good though as it's made me take extra care to leave a large gap between me and the car in front.

Whooshy that poor Easter bunny dog! Easter Grin How's DD now?

Trashy I think we definitely need to see some cute puppy pictures...

LMiss glad you've had a good Easter, especially as it actually means so much in a religious way to you and isn't just an excuse to eat chocolate like it is to me. Easter Grin There's an amazing place near us called the Wintershall Estate where they put on passion plays and nativities. I used to look after an elderly lady and she used to love me driving her through the estate, where many of the shrines and stuff are there year round. The place has an amazing atmosphere and feels incredibly peaceful. The plays are so successful that now they put them on in Trafalgar Square too. I thought of it as I was looking through the photos of the Guildford one in the local paper and thought how moving it looked (even to faithless ol' me).

Sayra how are the baby fishies getting on? Of course I didn't think you're a horrible person you great dollop! Easter Grin

Fishy Stuff
They all seem to be doing quite well. The two minnow boys go in for a lot of argy bargy, flaring their fins a lot and jostling each other. They are really stunning little fish. The girls mainly ignore all that and are more interested in looking for food. I'll try and get some pics of them later. The corys are really funny, they're such busy little fish, scurrying about the tank and digging in the sand. The two boys are desperately trying to get the much larger female in the mood for lurve, taking it in turns sitting on top of her as she beetles around the place, caressing her with his fins and whiskery barbels. She completely ignores them. Grin Thumb Stumpy sounds very cute - like Nemo with his wonky fin!

The ammonia is a bit high in the tank - it's been going up to 0.5ppm and even up to 1ppm on one occasion. I've been doing lots of water changes - twice a day - to keep it down. SayraFishyGuru is there a limit to how much and often I should do water changes? I've been doing around a 30% change, repeating later if it hasn't come down, but have done a 50% and then today around 70% change. The ammonia is now at 0.25ppm I think I may have been a bit over zealous vacuuming the sand/gravel too, and not given the bacteria time to colonise it. We went to DMIL's yesterday for the night and I was fretting about being away from my fishies. Easter Blush Easter Grin
End of Fishiness

Absolutely nothing to confess report on the food front, as I am a Fucking Mahoosive Carby Twatwanker. Hmm My trousers are tight again. And I'm drinking too much. Must. Stop. Eating. Crap.

monkeyfacegrace · 21/04/2014 18:42

Am down to 145lb which is a 30lb loss since 1st Jan.

Have been cheating loads with wine and choc, but no bread/pasta etc.

Am shitting myself though as my left nipple has began inverting as is lumpy so drs tomorrow.

WhooshFuckerFairy · 21/04/2014 20:07

No wise words - just a hand to hold xx

WhooshFuckerFairy · 21/04/2014 20:12

Which infact sounds awful - like I think it's something awful .... And it might obviously be something very innocent ...
< face palm > . Good luck anyway x

trashcanjunkie · 21/04/2014 20:58

Aargh. Easter festivities happened eva - not that it is any excuse.... We all have a fabulous get together at a friends parents massive country pile... everyone brings food and it's a cake fest. I don't have the dcs for christmas, so Easter is a mega big deal at our house, although we're athiests, it's a spring celebration. I had already decided to have an egg, and I just on the sour of the moment decided to relax at the easter meal. I couldn't finish my cake in the end anyway, but really enjoyed some bread and potatoes. Oh and a ton of chocolate. We had a bloody KFC this evening and I definitely haven't had enough water since yesterday. So, technically I've been 'off piste' for about 24 hours. I haven't gone totally nuts, and I don't feel physically good. Back on it tomorrow, and I'm going to re-gift the spare eggs left in the cupboard as they have left me with chronic wind and a disgusting chemical aftertaste. Sigh.

Oh monkey fingers crossed for a speedy and innocent resolution of boob issue Thanks

Will post some puppy pics tomorrow. I made her some dresses Blush

BecauseImWoeufIt · 21/04/2014 21:49

Fingers crossed for you, monkey Flowers

SayraT · 21/04/2014 21:58

Trashy well done on your 1st birthday success and never mind about the carby twatness, re-gift the eggs and back on track tomorrow, you need to help me get back on track too!!

You made dresses for the dog Hmm Grin OH would love a dog, a dash, dauch, dasch.. sausage dog and I saw one once with a barbour wax jacket on, it was the cutest thing ever! OH and the dog could go out on walks with matching jackets Grin

Whoosh a facebook acquaintance has posted about the salted caramel green tea...I must try it so that it can be added to the orgasmic list.

Orgasmic List

  1. Lidl duck breast
  2. Lidl tuna and cherries
  3. Salted caramel green tea
4.????

Yeah car insurance is a nightmare when you just start....though be grateful she's a DD and not a DS, my car insurance at that age was £800 per year, my brothers was £4000 Shock

thumb and notso there is a thread in site stuff where people are asking for different smilies (and for the Biscuit to be removed) why don't we all descend and ask for a fish and a dog. They might listen if we go enmasse! Grin

LMD I am glad that Easter was good for you and that you had such a great time at church. Nice writing paper is not sad, good paper and a good pen is amazing, I love writing with nice stationery Smile. I also want to say well done to you, you seem to have done very very well at keeping on track and I wish I could say the same for me!

Seri I agree that I don't enjoy the carby things as much....so why am I still eating them?! Luckily OH has gone back for work this week and has taken all the carbiness with him, I threw out a crumpet to save me eating it, and has left behind the low carb goodies. I will be good from now on!

Crabby (I mistyped and wrote "Carby" instead Grin)

Baby fishes are fine, I've got 11 and they are growing well, I left them in the main tank and the adults haven't touched them. I was a bit concerned they would especially when I gave them their live bloodworms today but they ate the worms and didn't eat the babies Smile You need to give your wcmms some live food, they love it and are so fun to watch Grin I hope they don't spawn again as I spoke to the LFS and they say they don't take temperate fish so I have no idea what I am going to do with the babies, I don't have room for them all in the small tank another tank did you say Crabby, what a good idea Grin

The corys in the big tank are my favourite, they are always so busy!

I would suggest carry on with your daily water changes (I don't think that you can do too many tbh) and keep monitoring. Maybe don't clean substrate too much wcmm are not that dirty so it will be fine I think. I understand being concerned about being away from fishies, I sat for at least an hour watching them today, I find it so relaxing Smile

Congratulations on that loss Monkey and hope everything is ok at doctors tomorrow, let us know Flowers

Back to work tomorrow, got a fridge full of LC goodies so I really really am back on the wagon tomorrow. I mean it!

LittleMissDisorganized · 22/04/2014 10:09

Hi everyone,
Been a busy and mostly happy weekend apart from DH being very unusually off with me the last couple of days. He is NEVER wrong, our conflict resolution is crap and whenever I try to address it I revert to my old behaviours which at least I recognise and I get frozen out. Sigh.
Anyway food wise I have done ok, though am done with the learning-about-maintaining rubbish! I want to shift a few more lb before I start work...
I might angle for a Lidl trip later - ours has been stripped down to literally the girders and rebuilt and DH said it has reopened. My ultimate low carb things remain cajun birdseed chicken and the taco bake. Going to make the latter tonight, yum.

monkeyfacegrace · 22/04/2014 10:17

Squeee, Im still 145lb today so it wasnt just a fluke yesterday!

And the dr is happy with my boob, nothing sinister, BIG phew.

well done everybody else.

Im fighting through until payday on Friday, need it desperately as Im out of meat and cheese.

ElmaFudd · 22/04/2014 10:42

Quick SMS from me - congrats to all those of you who are losing and maintaining. I, sad to say, am doing neither - after a promising start last month, I slipped up,over Easter. Cake - hot cross buns particularly- are my downfall. So I went from 77 to 74 to 76 and am seriously narked with myself.

Time to refocus AGAIN and hoping a discipline of posting meals here will help.

Can't do a mega post but did want to say hurray for Monkey - am delighted you got good news. A dear friend lost her fight with breast cancer a few weeks ago, so it's been on my mind a lot.

Anyway - yesterday's confession:
B: two scrambled eggs
L: broccoli and celery salad and sausage
D: salad (leftovers from Easter lunch)
S: 4squares of 85% choc (yes, I know- this might be part of the problem!)

EvaTheOptimist · 22/04/2014 12:05

That's a relief Monkey. And well done too on your keeping on keeping on!

Joins hands to leap back onto wagon with Trash and Sayra. (and Elma and LittleMiss at least too, from the sounds of things) Its good we enjoyed our Easter celebrations! (and remembered what it feels like to eat carbs - bad and good). I have been sternly not allowing myself even low-carb snacks this morning. As I work at the kitchen table 2 metres from the fridge, this is Will Power.
