Well, finally, we reach the finish line! One more week to shout your shit.

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

And the Weight Tracker

Hope the results are positive for you today - and that the rest of this week gives you time to drop another pound or two.

Not weighed this week as TOTM related (I hope) gain of 4lbs last week made me feel really down. As BIWI has kindly given us a date for the next bootcamp, I think I'll have a rest from weighing and just stick with bootcamp light with extra veg til then. Being able to eat carrots, tomato soup etc will make my life a bit easier too.

Well done to everyone who's still losing. Although I'm feeling quite despondent about the 4lbs up, I'm still very pleased that I lost so much in last bootcamp. I'm in a much better state than before (BMI 29 to 27).

MrsHerculePoirot · 14/04/2014 09:25

Hello! I'll be in, although maybe doing a lite version if bfing takes off, despite being temporarily off the insulin I have had a couple of hypos when leaving gaps between meals so just need to get this baby home so I can eat proper food again!!!

trashy you and Rudy both look gorgeous in that pic!

Well done all you other losers, I like the little gaps between bootcamps says it means I can practise how I might like to eat long term and try to maintain. I also find then I am better at sticking to it for the 10 weeks each time.

Notsoskinnyminny · 14/04/2014 12:46

Trashy love the name Rudy but I love your original choice of Suki as that's psychopup's name Grin

Whoosh looking forward to pics of your little bundle of joy

LMD hope the interview went ok.

I might restart properly on the 22nd when I go back to school, there's too many temptations at home and I don't drink as much water and I'm worried if I wait another 2 wks for BC I won't get back into it properly.

The carpet fitters are due soon so hopefully the house will be back to normal this time tomorrow.

WhooshFuckerFairy · 14/04/2014 15:27

monkey - I agree , I am really struggling with school hols and not being in the routine of work. Its much easier at work - pint water when I arrive , emails &messages, pint water, then ward rounds then pint water... then down to A&E, back to desk - pint water.... preplanned lowcarb packed lunch........ and so on - no snacking, no lapsing and no time to even think about it....

The hols are gorgeous and fabulous and I adore being at home with DD's x3 and am utterly jealous of all SAHM's - but ...... its a constant battle with myself. I start each day well with water, decaff, eggs with butter...... lunch is ok if I have preplanned again - oily goats cheese big salad or something, water begins to slide.... coffee come in..... water now completely forgotton...... homemade baking, treats, coffee shop treats.... " whats for supper".... just back from the beach/ park/ wherever..... - PASTA ! aaaggghhh. ( whihc is doubley worse as I have been having ' fat' all day....)

I need to get focussed - but I am loving the hols so much, as long as I don't put pounds on - I am happy to waver around the same place.

MrsHerculePoirot · 14/04/2014 17:30

Now the weather is getting nicer though I think it gets easier again. We have a gas BBQ and just chuck on meat and veg each night when the weather is ok enough. I find it much easier to do in the summer with less thinking, and everything tastes nice bbq'd!

WhooshFuckerFairy · 14/04/2014 20:04

Good idea HP ! We haven't even dusted down the BBQ yet .

Who was it that recommended the lidl garlic and pepper marinated duck breasts ??? Thankyou , thankyou , thankyou - orgasmically delicious Grin

SayraT · 14/04/2014 20:27

I need to find out what to do with them now, I have a tank that I can set up as a nursery tank and tomorrow I'll need to go and buy proper baby fish food.

SayraT · 14/04/2014 20:29

This is the best picture I have of the babies...you can see their eyes and a shiny stripe down their back.

I got it!!!! They offered me the job, my pre-illness and disastrous life events job is going to be mine again!!
Been out for dinner tonight, unplanned carby twat moments but this is huge and so it's fine, it will come off. I am bouncy and exhausted.

SayraT · 14/04/2014 21:37

Fantastic news LMD well done Thanks Grin

I think carby twat moments are allowed for moments like this Grin

BIWI · 14/04/2014 22:17

Fantastic, LMD! Flowers

OP posts:
GatoradeMeBitch · 14/04/2014 22:27

Congrats LMD!

I've been shut out for 2 days - the password reset thing, grrrrr!

I've been back on the wagon since the end of last week, but I was doing some reading on Neris & India's diet book which seems to be v.similar to this one and it upset me a bit to read that India Knight calls it a 'one shot' diet, that every time you fall off the wagon it will work less well. As much as I moan about the diet, it is workable for me and it bothers me to think that it could stop working. Has anyone had that experience?

CrabbyBlossomBottom · 14/04/2014 22:43

Oh my word, I've missed all of this excitement!! Shock I couldn't for the oife of me work out last night on ipad why my password was suddenly not working - it was only this morning when checked email on laptop that
I discovered the security thing.

Huge congratulations to LMiss on the new/old job! Flowers

Huge congratulations too for:

Trashy on your beautiful baby Rudi. You've got me singing 'Message to you Rudy' incessantly in my head now! You've got a gorgeous face to match the body and fancy undies, btw. Wink

Whoosh on your impending foxy labrador motherhood. I've got puppy envy! Envy Grin

Pseudo on your latest weightloss. Not sure you should be butting into the animal mad thread with that info though. Oh hang on... Grin

Sayra on your new WCMM arrivals! Now I have a confession, which I've been too ashamed to make on PFK because they've all been so supportive and giving me very sensible advice about not getting any more fish until Poorly Platy is entirely recovered... you can see where this is going, can't you... Blush I had the thought that as Poorly Platy hasn't been eating and seemed to be triggered to feed by the WCMMs when he shared a tank with them (he can only see out of one eye), that maybe having tankmates again might perk him up. He seems to be on the mend and I'm fairly confident that the filter is coping ok due to the mature media in there from the other filters. I know it wasn't the best plan, but allowed myself to be persuaded by the sweet lass in the fish shop (and DD) and came home with three WCMMs; two females and a male. I've put a shedload of beneficial bacteria in there too, which might be snake oil but I hope will help. Water parameters are all fine so far.

That was on Saturday, and last night we were astonished to see the male and one of the females getting frisky in the hornwort. Shock Lots of shivering and shimmying and him wrapping his tail around her. Today there was lots more of that, but done with more finesse...they'd obviously been practising overnight. Grin He's also been chasing the other female around and flashing his gorgeous colours at her. She's bloated with eggs but wasn't playing ball at all this morning. Her attitude has definitely softened over the course of today though, and by this evening she was chasing him back. It's all done the trick with Poorly Platy too - he's started eating little bits again, looks much perkier and has even started to chase the big female a bit too. It must be something in the water. Grin

I couldn't see any eggs/sperm coming out when they were spawning, but I'm hoping very much that we'll have fry in a couple of days. They should be ok as there's nobody to eat them apart from the parents, the half-blind geriatric and five shrimp (I got another trio on Sunday). I know
I'm a bad and irresponsible fishkeeper, but it's so lovely to watch them all - we've spent hours gazing at them. I hope I'll have some fry pictures for you soon.

MrsHerculePoirot · 15/04/2014 01:42

Congrats LMD

EvaTheOptimist · 15/04/2014 01:52

I'm back from broadband free holidays...

Congratulations indeed mrsHP what a beautiful baby!

I'm enjoying the fishy and puppy madness that has broken out round here.

Also, wonderful wonderful news about the job LittleMiss.

Most days on holiday involved carbs... ahem! I can say though, that most of the time they are quite "meh" and not what you think you've been craving. And also, they are damn addictive - once one carby item had been eaten that was it, all defences down for the rest of the day.

I'm back now and eating proper bootcamp for a few days before I dare to step on the scales. This way I hope to avoid any very demoralising news!

Thumbwitch · 15/04/2014 02:21

I have fallen off all my TIO, including this one, due to being in the UK and having too much RL to do.

I have also fallen massively off the low-carb wagon and am in shame. Am trying desperately not to compound the problems, but it's not going well so far. :( Am refusing to get on scales to see how bad...

I have noticed that LMD got her job though - fantastic, well done!
And woohoo to baby fishies. I remember our first baby tropical fish (platys) - so exciting! Grin

StuntNun · 15/04/2014 06:19

Anyone else getting all excited at the idea of the next Bootcamp starting? This will be my fourth and will see me having been on this woe for a year.

WhooshFuckerFairy · 15/04/2014 06:23

So much posting while GOT was on TV ..... Crazy vipers - it was awesome !!
crabby - I love you so much I even read your fishy section Grin at frisky in the horn tail And loving the blossom bottom new name
lmd congratulations - what is the job ?
eva and thumb .... Waves hello Grin

Have woken early and resolved ....
Let's all have a good day - and banish carby twatness !! ( am telling this to myself !)

(trashy - you look young and gorgeous !)

mrs HP how's that baby - and what is his name ?

SayraT · 15/04/2014 08:04

Gatorade I was lucky, I hadn't signed out on my laptop so I just left it until yesterday to change my password and it seemed to be ok. Well done for getting back on the wagon...I hope to join you up there this week Smile

I also hope that it isn't a one shot diet....surely not, I don't want to have had my chance!

Crabby There are a few things I wouldn't admit on PFK Blush but I'd say just keep an eye on parameters and do regular water changes and all should be fine. The beneficial bacteria is definitely snake oil but you've got it now so fling it in!! Smile

Don't get too excited about having fry, mine flashed and danced and hid in the bushes a lot. For a few months now I'd been thinking they were going to spawn and they didn't (until now) so they might just be practicing like mine were. Did you just get normal ones or gold or did you go for the long-finned? I am looking forward to seeing what my fry grow up like, dad is normal and mum is gold..I think I will have a mixture but from what I've read the goldies will be more golden than their parents Grin

Welcome back Eva hope holiday was nice, where were you...you probably told us before you went but I forget things like that.

Thumb lets get back on the wagon together, it might not be that bad, I weighed this morning and I've only put on ~3 lbs so I need to get back on now before that gets out of control.

Stunt I am very excited! Who gets excited about a "diet" Grin but I think I need it

Todays Food

B: Two fried eggs, coffee with cream
L: Tuna mayonnaise with little gem lettuce and cucumber
S: FF yogurt
D: Salmon fillets with something (not quite decided)

sybilfaulty · 15/04/2014 08:33

Hello everyone! Have been b busy and v carby bit am Ba k now. Hurray! Am taking kids to cinema so will read once they are ensconced.... Hope everyone is well.

toomuchicecream · 15/04/2014 08:53

Morning all
Lurked avidly all the way through BC but rarely posted as the thread was moving so fast. Away with my family last week with no chance of low carb eating so I took full "advantage" and stuffed my face with every carb possible. Which was great in one way, because I really don't fancy carbs at all now - I've been reminded of how bad my indigestion and lethargy get. But bad in that I put on all the weight I lost on boot camp... But I've been firmly back on the wagon since Monday and its coming off again. Nothing like a nasty shock to keep me on track. It's definitely harder in the holidays as out of routine so it's needing a real effort of will to get enough water in etc.

Congrats to all, especially HP for baby and LMD for job. And thanks to everyone for keeping me company. Enjoy the au shine!

LittleMissDisorganized · 15/04/2014 11:32

Ooh, it's all busy again Grin this is when I fail at the Crabbysuperreply technique though.
Thank you, to all that have been so positive. I slept so well, and it feels unreal this morning. The job is as a middle grade Dr in Clinical Oncology Whoosh.

I've done the next week's shopping and meal planning and so will get back on with it. I'm in reasonable control of meals over Easter, one meal out is in a carvery so that's pretty manageable really. It's only my own roasties that make it seem faintly worth cheating over.

Gatorade I read the Idiot Proof Diet book from the library and obviously skimmed over the "one-shot" thing Blush - but that was the book that got me to start thinking, and that lead to doing BC and having success with it. But I've got two thoughts about it, one is that my (very rusty) scientific brain can't see why it shouldn't start to work again, that you switch back into fat burning once you've removed your glycogen stores and the cells start to release the fat (so you'll do the same, step-wise, loss and stall of weight and inches). someone with a better grasp eg StuntNun or BIWI might like to confirm they agree with that thinking??!
And also that we have plenty of (anecdotal) evidence here on this thread - of those that do this long term, but do have meals off, or weekends off. It's obviously more effective if you don't do that very often, but varies, as some people were eating biscuits on a weekly basis last bootcamp and losing and some of us, me included, have to stick to the 'Lite' rules at the very least.

So... I'm not convinced. That said, I don't think I've done any emotional, unplanned eating - and although last night was "unplanned" it was a huge thing for me, I kept it to one meal, and I'm back on again. But there's been 3 such "one meals" in the last 3 weeks so I can hardly expect to lose on that basis and need to get back on with it. I think there's been all the positive news that can be expected now!!

GatoradeMeBitch · 15/04/2014 11:56

Just for everyone's reference this is the quote I read on MN when I was googling the book

"I tried it once, lost shed loads, then it crept back on, then I did it again, lost weight but not as much this time. Then did it for the third time and lost nothing.
India talks about a 'golden shot', ie you only get shot at this diet. I agree with that." www.mumsnet.com/Talk/am_i_being_unreasonable/992611-India-Knight-Idiot-Proof-Diet/AllOnOnePage

I googled 'India Knight golden shot' and it didn't come up anywhere, so I'm sorry if I worried anyone. I guess with anything, the body could potentially build up a resistance over time? But I'm not scientifically minded at all so I wouldn't know! It did give me a fright in a good way though, because I really want to stick with it now! Grin
