Well, finally, we reach the finish line! One more week to shout your shit.

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

And the Weight Tracker

Hope the results are positive for you today - and that the rest of this week gives you time to drop another pound or two.

Heir well done on resisting chips and pudding! I looooove chimichurri sauce (usually on a pizza Hmm)

LittleMissDisorganized · 28/03/2014 11:14

Morning.... Oh what a night... in lots of pain, DH got up twice to get me settled, dosed up, and even some chocolate Blush, there is blood oozing through the dressing but I have been in touch with the hospital and they are not too concerned, and they never take bandages off Confused. Still getting temperatures and viral headache and awful sore throat.

trashcan what an awesome, confident post. You are, as Eva I think has said, on fire, and a real demonstration of how every woman should be able to feel about her body, whatever size.
And you have an OH who cooks - although, tbh, my DH is awesome at all the rest of the household tasks that at times, this being one of them, he ends up doing all of, washing, cleaning, etc, with no complaints. We are only 5 months married though so I'm allowed to make soppy statements like that Grin
And I love cooking, I don't need any competition in my kitchen!

whoosh my DH has done exactly the same with mixing LCHF with the opposite and has put on about 10lb - I am still heavier than him but by much less than I anticipated for bootcamp given that he has moved closer to me in weight.
The recipe is from a book... so when I can limp to the bookcase I will type it out - should have asked DH for it, I will grab it later somehow or other.

Pisci thank you, it's true that the strength I use isn't mine, it is given to me. Thank you so much for encouraging me.

Now as for food, I am going to try and get back on track today. I looked down at myself as I was having a strip wash this morning, and thought about the last time I had to do all of this, it was an even less pretty sight. And whilst the sweet stuff calms temporarily, it will backfire and turn into something that drives me into feeling worse. DH is up for trying to feed me my way - so I had his version of egg-in-a-cup for breakfast, there's some cooked chicken that I'll have with salad and dressing and mayo for lunch, and he's going to do sausages and cauli-mash for tea tonight, so that's all good, but I am going to be on BC lite and allow a small amount of dark chocolate, and a few nuts, as needed to get myself through the day, and the pain.

Sorry that's taken me ages in my woozy sore state. Apologies to anyone I've missed....

Piscivorous · 28/03/2014 11:49

LittleMiss Just dashing so no time to post properly but Brew and Thanks to you. Bootcamp Lite sounds good at the moment as your body probably needs a bit more easily accessible energy to heal.

Felix I've lost about 3 and a 1/2 stone but keep bouncing around here rather than going downwards. I have about another 5 to go I think but I don't think that far ahead. I'm working on the "How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time" approach so set small targets rather than daunting myself. I suspect it was a last resort for this young woman as she was very large but, all credit to her, she was positive, working with a dietician and aware it was not a magic cure so she had to do stuff for herself too.

WhooshFuckerFairy · 28/03/2014 12:00

lmd ;leave the book there - don't worry about it honestly - forget it ! They are on the case with Nigel slaters truffles Grin

trashy [love emoticon]. you made me think...... there have been several times when my body could have been stopped in its tracks..... postpartum haemorrage with DD3, ventricular arrythmias when trying to run, bicycle crash head injury ( which made me proper nutty for a while)... and now waiting for this uterine biopsy....all sorts - BUT I keep on going , my body is also amazing....from today I am cherishing my flat chest, my lovely waist, my wrinkley wrinkly - caused by laughing and loving face - and even my huge Jarse. ( might have a post bootcamp return to that name to keep me honest).

I am in a happy place. and I got shouted at ( in a good motivational way) by a gorgeous gym instructor that looks the same age as my daughter and in a Jack Wills hoodie ! I feel.... oddly content today. trashy what have you done !!

love to all

Piscivorous · 28/03/2014 13:41

Whoosh I used to be IvorHughJarrs at one point but got quite a lot of stick as there had been a rather troll-ish poster with a similar name

FelixFelix · 28/03/2014 13:42

Piscivorous well done, that's incredible!

HumphreyCobbler · 28/03/2014 14:20

Hello everyone. I have just popped in to congratulate you all on nearly completing bootcamp!

I am sorry I have dropped off this amazingly supportive thread, you are all lovely. Sadly DH has developed a problem with digesting fatty food Shock and, with a baby six months and two other children I couldn't face cooking yet another lots of meals. So I have slightly modified my approach and have gone for 5.2 but sticking to lower carb the rest of the time (mainly no fruit/bread/refined sugar/potatoes).

I fully intend to low carb again at some point as no other WOE offered me such fantastic health benefits.

Hope you are feeling better soon LittleMiss Flowers

FelixFelix · 28/03/2014 16:11

Aghhh just fell face first in to a box of chocolates. DP sent me flowers today and they came with them, and I just scoffed all 10 of them. 10!!! They weren't even that nice Hmm first slip up I've had since I started a couple of weeks ago. It was just out of boredom too!

WhooshFuckerFairy · 28/03/2014 17:48

Thanks for the tip piscy .... Will stay as Whooshfucker ! And trashy ... My Mary has been aching all day at the though of double breech birth .... Yowser !

( and had to google wizards sleeve !!) GrinGrin

trashcanjunkie · 28/03/2014 21:06

whooshy fret not! I tell you, it was easy... I can admit that openly here Grin I literally shat my pants all through the pregnancy. I had such a sore minge post ds 1. I was in terror. The thing is though, when I had him I was so bodily unaware/mortified that I never even looked at my poor foof for years. I had a tear in the perinneum that healed as it was. I was embarrassed about that for years, and even saw gynae to ask for a repair. she was lovely and really reassured me that because my pelvic floor was in good nick, the tear wasn't visible unless you went scratting about looking for it, and outwardly it all looked perfect, and that it was pointless to do a repair unless I was finished having kids, and even then didn't think it was necessary.

I have since come to re-love the old fanj, and it was like a pre ordered episiotomy when it came to having the twins Grin - I swear to you, it was an easy birth - plus they were smaller than ds 1 (6lbs 4 and 6lbs 5). I couldn't believe it. The next day it felt as though I'd had a rough shag, and that was that! My boobs weren't sore when my milk came in and that was all blumming great. In hindsight, it was just as well though, because the rest of my life was in utter humdinging chaos. I was truly lucky that the twins were a breeze. I actually feel a bit of a fraud about the whole thing.... Mind you, the next couple of years made up for it Grin Grin

trashcanjunkie · 28/03/2014 21:08

Having just re-read that post, may I apologise for my blatant lack of decorum, and general vulgarity.... Hmm

thenightsky · 28/03/2014 21:09

OK. So if one gets given chocs, what with it being mother's day and all that, is it better to eat them all in one go or to spread them over a period of time, say 2 a day?

WhooshFuckerFairy · 28/03/2014 21:34

Let the kids eat them !!

EvaTheOptimist · 28/03/2014 21:38

Thinking of you littlemiss and Gatorade. Hope you're feeling a bit better Trash. I was thinking just the same today about feeling grateful for what my body can do for me, and all the changes my life has wrought on my body just being a sign of what my body can achieve. Enjoying your posts about childbirth!

I've been all on the low-carb straight-and-narrow since Weds but almost certainly not drinking enough water. and too much tea. Its all a bit too relaxed around here now its not officially bootcamp!

FelixFelix · 28/03/2014 21:57

Sky I had to eat mine as dd is only 14 weeks! All in one go obviously Hmm

trashcanjunkie · 28/03/2014 22:20

I'm nearly having a little weep at all the love. This thread is fucking great and so is everyone on it. Can I just say, thanks again to BIWI and willie...

eva Grin am on different painkillers for my feet ishoos. I'm off my trolley, so I'm pleased my ramblings are ok and not too grim Grin

thenightsky I am of the school of thought that all in one go is the preferred method. My reasoning (entirely made up) is as follows, a) the body is too surprised to do anything and you shit most of them out. b) you put yourself right off for a good wee while Confused

thenightsky · 28/03/2014 22:31

trash... all in one go suits me fine Grin but I do love the science bit re body being suprised and shitting em all out again.

Piscivorous · 29/03/2014 01:26

I always trough them down in one go and quote Carbnite as my justification. Might be total bollocks but it's a good excuse and it could be true.

StuntNun · 29/03/2014 06:38

I got lovely Hotel Chocolat chocolates for Christmas. They were the Even Less Sugar ones so lower carb than most chocolates and I meant to eke them out a couple a day. Unfortunately they were bliddy gorgeous so a couple a day turned into six a day. So in hindsight I would have been better off eating the whole box in one go.

LittleMissDisorganized · 29/03/2014 08:50

Morning everyone - no painkillers ALL night, woohoo!! Was unbelievably sore when I woke but very chuffed with the way that I am naturally withdrawing from them, without it being a torturous process. trash didn't realise I had competition for the high-as-a-kite posting award... Grin my 'normal' pain is managed without any loopy feelings thankfully especially with my history.

I have also realised that it'll be at least 2 weeks postop until I can even stand on the scales!!

Felix awwww 14 weeks! And you're losing baby weight already! You're doing really well, and there is reasonably solid science behind the all-at-once theory. You know you can do it so you will be able to again, from today.

Pisci you've done amazingly over a long haul like others such as Eva have - it's so encouraging to hear that. This last week having been off the wagon far more than on it (holiday then surgery/illness) That's been a first for me since bootcamp, and just to keep on keeping on is much more powerful advice from those that have BTDT.
And BClite does sound wiser for the initial physical healing going on, thank you for reminding me of that.

DurhamDurham · 29/03/2014 09:00

Piscivorus I hadn't realised that when BIWI said we could eat 'mindfully' that meant we could inhale a dozen donuts!! Grin

I an see the logic ( I WANT to see the logic) in carb night, as I suppose it's like it's keeping your body on it's toes, not allowing it to become sluggish or complacent.

Not sure I would eat a donut or twelve but it does make me feel a bit better about having a 'night off' low carbing every so often.

StuntNun · 29/03/2014 09:58

I don't think Carbnite is all it's cracked up to be, I suspect you have to be more careful than just inhaling doughnuts once a week. If you look up carb refeeds or carb backloading (which are mainly for people that are doing a lot of exercise afaik) then the usual recommendation seems to be to go low fat for the day and increase your consumption of foods from the middle of the carb ladder. I.e. potatoes, sweet potato, white rice, bananas or other fruits, and not white bread, pasta or sugary foods. It seems wise as well, I'm sure if I ate a load of bread I would be bloated and sicky the next day. When I carb refeed I like to have a meal with a small portion of white rice or a baked potato.

DurhamDurham · 29/03/2014 10:32

Awwww shucks Stuntnun! You have ruined it for me.
You are right of course, if I was having a carb night I would not eat donuts I would be more lenient with my veg and fruit choices. I doubt I would have potato, rice, bread or pasta as I don't miss them at all. I would treat myself to some carby veg or something sweet (a huge slice of coffee cake for example Grin)

trashcanjunkie · 29/03/2014 11:49

littlemiss It felt like I was on ecstasy last night... it was very odd. Hopefully I'll adjust, because there is no way I can drive on these ones. Nefapam? has anyone else had them before. It's a pay off isn't it... pain free, but off your bleeding rocker. My dp siad my eyes looked really weird, and my friend thought I looked like an escaped disney character Grin

StuntNun · 29/03/2014 14:36

I would like some recipe ideas please. I haven't been able to eat eggs since last summer since my DS3 has egg intolerance BUT I have just stopped breastfeeding him and now I can eat eggs again and drink alcohol and have as much caffeine as I like! So any suggestions for 'eggy' recipes would be good as I haven't been able to eat eggs for the whole time I've been low carbing. Crustless quiche? Some kind of delicious muffin? Savoy cabbage carbonara? What do you all recommend?
