I'm starting next week's thread a bit early as I have to be up and out of the house at sparrow's crack tomorrow.

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

And don't forget the weight tracker

It may seem like we're nearly at the end, but still the chance to lose up to another half a stone, if you can lose 2lbs a week!

Hope everyone has a good week. Mine is a bit of a minefield - out tomorrow night to celebrate both of my DCs' birthdays, and then out on Thursday with some MNetter friends, and I don't think we will be drinking sparkling water!

Good luck everyone. Flowers

Just a quick SMS

Pisci I don't bother with the stevia/splenda but I do add a glug of cream.

Whoosh you can have a couple of inches off my boobies, I've got plenty to share.

crabby bio oil's good for reducing scarring, DS has bad acne scarring on his chest and back but its now starting to fade.

I started writing this an hour ago but had to go and rescue a tiny mouse from the clutches of madkitty and psychopup, I carried it to safety but it didn't look to healthy - poor thing.

We were having chicken for dinner but I forgot to turn the slow cooker on so I'll be damned forever eating meat on Ash Wednesday I haven't gone to mass in centuries but once a catholic and all that shit so its pancakes for everyone Grin

Any ideas what I can do with 1.5kg of ff yoghurt which needs eating by Friday never trust DH to rotate things in the fridge in the garage

DurhamDurham · 04/03/2014 18:59

Haven't had time to catch up today so apologies if someone has already suggested these.
Instead of pancakes I have made a batch of thin omelettes made with eggs, double cream and a dash of vanilla Essence. I had mine with some berries and a dollop of cream. Hubby had his with sliced banana and some nuts. My girls had theirs with a dollop of cream, lemon curd and blue berries.

They were delicious and really filling. We usually manage about 5 (!) pancakes each but I only ate one omelette while the others managed two.

Piscivorus · 04/03/2014 19:33

Well I delegated tea to DD tonight and she made a thai red chicken curry, it will have 3.85g carbs from the paste and some from the coconut milk and veg but I had mine with zero noodles so am hoping it was not too bad.

Followed it up with low carb pancakes with a touch of sweetener and lemon. Very nice indeed.

Now I just have to decide what to give up for Lent

CrabbySuperReply® coming up....

Welcome to Amazonianwoman and Lesser if you have any questions just ask there are lots of LC gurus on here so they are bound to be able to answer any questions you have.

Great loss Pseudo and arselikekylie thats fab, you must feel great Grin

Woohoo whooshfuckerfairy

monkeyface if you are LC this week I am sure your weight gain will come off quickly, the past two weeks I've had unavoidable (and avoidable) carbs over the weekend, put on 4-5lbs and lost them in time to put them on again!

Its great to get into different clothes isn't it Humphrey I've got jeans which claim to be the same size as all my others but they are not. I had them on the other week and my normal jeans need a belt Grin. the only issue with losing weight is having to buy a new wardrobe!

Serri I've tried measuring but I'm not sure if I am measuring in slightly different places, I am definitely thinner but measuring tape says I'm not. Got my OH to take photos at the beginning of Feb and I am going to get him to take new ones every month or so. Hopefully I will be able to see the changes.

Heir I think your menu looks good and it doesn't shout LC so if you are trying to keep it quiet then I think its fine. I'm no expert but I'd think a little bit of flour split between lots of people will be ok I might be wrong

Crabby problem was I wanted to take my leftovers from dinner, I did anyway and no one even noticed. Normally they comment if I eat kidneys, lamb or chicken drumsticks. I work with some very fussy and unadventurous people. One had never seen "a blueberry not in a muffin" before she started with us!! I had blueberries (pre-LC) one day and she asked "what's that?"

Today's Food

B: Coffee with cream
L: Leftover chicken livers, bacon and mushrooms in garlic cream sauce with roasted broccoli
D: Pork shoulder steak with braised fennel and spinach

Going to try some pancakes now Grin

StuntNun · 04/03/2014 20:15

Don't worry too much about your DD's legs scarring Crabby. I got a third degree burn on my leg a few years back and it has faded to a smooth flat white scar even though it looked pretty horrendous while it was healing. There are a lot of scar treatments available, depending on the size of them you can use scar reduction plasters or creams. I used a gel on my c-section scar after DS3 was born and it healed a lot better than the one I had after DS1 when I didn't put anything on it.

Seri77 · 04/03/2014 21:54

Ah Sayra it could be you're measuring in a different place. Photos are a great idea. I love other peoples before and after photos but haven't taken any befores as I think I would cry. I also don't have a full length mirror which may have contributed to how I got into this state.

I'm pretty sure Im measuring in the same place and my clothes feel looser. My trousers have slid down my hips and my raincoat moves around when zipped up rather than staying wedged in place. I have not yet approached my trousers of truth as doubt they would get past my knee :(. Still, I'm 9.5lbs down so not complaining.

CrabbySpringyBottom · 04/03/2014 22:03

Pistey that was yum, thanks, but now I seem to have a bit of wool stuck in my teeth...

Thanks Notso. They've given her some DermaOil which looks to be very similar.

Sayra am both Grin and Sad at the blueberry virgin. Your lunch sounds delicious.

Stunt thank you for that. I know vitamin E oil is good for healing and I'll look into other gels/creams/plasters. It was a bit of a shock to see her legs in the sunlight this morning, having only seen them in the dimness of the bathroom yesterday. Sorry to hear you had such a severe burn and I'm glad it healed well.

Well the low carb pancakes were nice. They didn't have the texture of pancakes - you couldn't roll them up or anything but they tasted good and went well with savoury toppings. DD loved hers, served with feta and a bit of boursin, mashed up with sweetcorn and chorizo. She declared it one of the best meals ever. Grin

Food today
L - bubble and squeak with crispy bacon
D - cream cheese pancakes with boursin and parmesan, chopped ham and olives.
P - berry crumble with double cream
2.5 L water, 2 teas, glass red wine

Am trying to cram read the Briffa book as I've had it out from the library for ages and not read it, and now someone's reserved it so I've got to return it tomorrow. It's very good so I should probably just buy it for the kindle/ipad.

CrabbySpringyBottom · 04/03/2014 22:04

Seri Grin at trousers of truth!

amazonianwoman · 04/03/2014 22:14

Haven't had time to read any of the thread yet Blush but am quietly pleased that I have actually managed to stick to plan for two whole days, which is a minor miracle for me Smile

I've been 'trying' to lose weight for almost seven years and have never managed to stick at any diet for more than a couple of weeks. Hence the need to lose at least 3.5 stone.

I haven't found it too difficult, but I am feeling pretty rubbish tonight - flu like symptoms. Not sure if this is lack of carbs (I was a major sugar addict) or whether I'm getting a cold or something (have a sore throat). Does anyone else feel like this initially?

Any breakfast suggestions which are quick to prepare? I don't have time to cook eggs every morning.

Off to read the thread now...

SarahBeenysBumblingApprentice · 04/03/2014 22:26

Amazonian- carb flu. It seems that people feel it differently, but I felt majorly rubbish for a day or two then minorly rubbish for the next two weeks! It does pass though so stick with it.

Leftovers make good breakfasts, or a bulletproof coffee- coffee blended with butter and coconut oil believe it or not!

Nux · 04/03/2014 22:29

Just checking in to say I managed a 2.5lb loss this week Grin, which I'm really pleased with after a 3 week stall. For some reason on Saturday (having sat through yet another children's party ignoring all the lovely snacks and cakes and just drinking water) DH and I decided that we should say 'Fuck it' and get a pizza! Which we did. And it made me feel so utterly stuffed and uncomfortable I was actually sick Blush.

Am managing to be good so far this week (even made pancakes and didn't eat a bit!) but have to bake for the PTA cake sale on Friday as well as make cookies with DD... and have bought a large bag of mini-eggs to decorate PTA cupcakes... and DH is away all week...

Have only skimmed thread but it sounds like a lot of people have broken their stalls this week too - well done everyone!

Nux · 04/03/2014 22:33

Oh and Amazonian - scrambled eggs with butter takes about the same amount of time to make as a round of toast.

Put heat on under small nonstick pan, add butter (don't have to wait for it to fully melt even), break two eggs directly into pan, bash with spatula to scramble - when cooked (2 mins or so) chuck onto plate and stick salt on top. I do eggs every morning and it's honestly super fast - and tasty and nutritious and filling!

amazonianwoman · 04/03/2014 23:11

Ok thanks I'll try scrambled eggs in the morning. And try to get up 10 mins earlier.

Tell me more about the coffee, butter and coconut oil. Have to say it sounds vile Grin But I'm prepared to stand corrected. I have coconut oil!

trashcanjunkie · 04/03/2014 23:14

Evening all, seem to be so late to the party these days.

Thanks so much all you guys who have been thinking of me and the pfb

No further forward today, but I'll keep everyone posted. I'm floating along on a cloud of beta-blockers, codeine, neproxen and paracetamol at the moment Blush I cracked this morning and poured my bodily and mental troubles to my lovely doctor. She took one look at me and wrote out several scripts and sent me off to sort out my sore neck/back/ankle/sleep deprived brain. I feel comfortably numb right now. I also discovered that painting your nails when having taken beta-blockers is really easy. No shaky left hand painting Grin Congratulations whooshy on your fab new look - I went back to dark chocolate long hair today and I'm so happy with it. Cheek bones are definately starting to appear as well.

crabby those scars will definitely fade away to nothing. It might be worth helping them along with pure vitamin e rubbed in after a bath, or as much as you can, or some bio oil, but I'm positive they'll disappear. If it's any comfort, one of my twins had a really similar looking set of marks on each wrist last year. He'd gone down a plastic slide at school, and got friction burns, plus an allergic reaction to the plastic slide Confused it looked bloody horrendous for months - can't see it now. (Oh I can now see others suggesting similar)

pistey Grin

tea you are a dirty bitch telling me about salty caramel brownies with rolos in Angry Grin but I pissed myself laughing at 'Sprout Triumph'

Heir so pleased that went fine at work today - menu sounds lush!

snowie I gotta a little lump in my throat at your post - and, oh, yes I'm tearing up a bit now. I'm so sorry if I've traumatised you. I'm so bloody touched by the support from people, it's made it less of a lonely burden, and I feel so grateful and lucky Thanks

BIWI you a fucking sage - You have just created the snacking bible basically

seri I have been very tempted to do some photos. Right. I will endeavour to....

well bloody done amazonian* that's awesome work Grin you can eat yoghurt for breakfast as long as it's full flat (we all go bonkers for a bit of lidl greek style) and you can even add a blob of double cream on top. Or check out the recipe thread. A lot of us eat left overs for breakfast - like, who the heck said breakfast has to be set foods eh? Alternatively you can cook crustless quiche the night before and scoff that first thing. Eggs, beaten with ham/mushrooms/bacon/cheese/asparagus - whatever you fancy dropped in and baked in the oven in a flan case. Cold from the fridge and sliced like pizza. Blummin' lush (I like it with garlic)

Oh, and everybody is mainlining BPC Grin

Thumbwitch · 04/03/2014 23:37

Crabby - I also think they will fade but it may take months, even more than a year. DS1 had a horrible cut on his chin from where he fell off the trampoline, and I put a "fun" plaster on it, which he reacted badly to, so by the time we got to the GP (It happened on NYE) not only was his cut infected but so were the glue areas of the plaster. We cleared it up with fucidin, but the scars were still visible for some time - but 2y later and there's just a bit of a lump there now, where the skin wasn't quite put back together properly. No visible scarring.
Bio oil will probably help, but it might not be needed - up to you, it might speed things up. :)

Thumbwitch · 04/03/2014 23:41

Trashy - glad your GP was helpful and hope the "comfortably numb" feeling lasts for a while!

Pistey - love your pancake style! Grin

RatherBeOnThePiste · 05/03/2014 00:11

:)

Haven't eaten a meal today. Didn't feel hungry until now. Just never got there. Had 3 tsps of Philadelphia, two teas with splash of milk. Numerous black coffees. No water.

Fail.

Seri77 · 05/03/2014 06:40

I've confirmed my suspicions that if I drink over 3L of water per day that I lose weight. I've been weighing the morning after I know I definitely have or haven't had enough. If I have 3L or more, I lose 0.1-0.2kg (0.2-0.4lbs) and it stays off. I've tracked it on mfp for last 3 weeks.

I find it very difficult to drink enough on the days I work or am out and about a lot. I'm not at work for next 2 weeks. I shall focus on my water as I'm only 2.2lbs away from 10 stone 13.9.

Hope everyone enjoyed their pancakes.

StuntNun · 05/03/2014 06:57

Amazonian a bullet proof coffee is a great way to get more fat into your diet, particularly when you're near your goal weight. It can be quite difficult to get above 70% fat in a day but a BPC is about 350-400 calories of fat. I make about 200 ml coffee, sometimes decaf if it's the afternoon, and add 15 g butter and 30 g coconut oil before blending with the stick blender. You have to blend it so it goes all creamy and frothy and the fat emulsifies. It's lovely, like a coconutty latte. If you can tolerate dairy then a splash (10 ml) of double cream produces a slightly improved texture. A word of warning though you have to work up to this. If you dive straight into a full BPC it can make you feel sick. I would start with a teaspoon of coconut oil and work your way up gradually. If you like rooibos tea then that is nice with a teaspoon of coconut oil stirred in. It floats on top and conditions your lips beautifully as you drink it.

BowieBaby · 05/03/2014 08:31

Hi can i join? I know it's a bit late but I've been low carbing for 3 weeks and have lost 11lbs! This is the only diet I've been able to stick to in years.

Now looking to start exercising and really tone up - any suggestions for fast results?

LittleMissDisorganized · 05/03/2014 08:36

Morning all, terrible sleep as it feels like someone's bashed me in the jaw - oh wait, that is a bit like what happened! - and am carb craving (definitely a link with feeling rubbish).
Sorry not to do a super post, hello to the new recruits, there's great encouragement here, hope everyone enjoyed their pancakes that had them. I'll be back and try a proper namecheck post later - but think I will go to Ash Wednesday communion this morning as I need a bit of spiritual refreshment and I can't eat rubbish while I'm there
Actually, I've just though... a tiny mouthful of bread isn't going to ruin everything is it? I already don't take the wine (obvious reasons) and communion won't quite be communion with neither of its elements Confused

CrabbySpringyBottom · 05/03/2014 08:45

Trashy how I've missed you!! Grin at "tea you are a dirty bitch"!

That's a smorgasbord of drugs your helpful doc has got you on there. Hope you feel better soon and don't get too used to that the bliss of being comfortably numb. Wink Is it tomorrow that your DS is meeting the housing people?

Thanks for the advice re scarring from Trashy and Thumb. She needs to keep slathering the DermaOil on them as they go white and scaly without it. I'll get some vitamin E oil to add in to it too.

Now I'm going to stop talking about DD as you must all be sick to bloody death of these ongoing DD/xDP sagas.

I'm trying to summon up the wherewithal to start swimming. I know it would be good for my back and for toning me up (despite the fact that I'm a crap swimmer). I even bought a swimming costume last bootcamp, after much agonising. Just can't quite bring myself to do it though.

EwanHoozami · 05/03/2014 08:51

Morning all. LittleMiss I'm pretty sure that the spiritual nourishment that you might get from taking the communion bread outweighs anything else. Enjoy the service & spiritual refreshment! Maybe take a bottle of water in with you to the church (if that's allowed? I'm not a churcher so have no clue Grin )

welcome Bowie that's a brilliant loss. Lots of people swear by the 30 day shred for fast results and it's certainly easy to fit it into a daily routine.

HeirToTheIronThrone · 05/03/2014 09:06

Notso re having lots of yogurt - if you also have chicken, you can marinade chunks of chicken in a mix of yogurt with a tblsp of curry paste (make your own if you feel like it) then bake in the oven til a bit black round the edges - ta-da, chicken tikka! Amazing in salad or make it into a curry. And use even more of the yogurt to make raita (add grated cucumber and mint and a smidge of crushed garlic) to have with it.

Pistey I love the pancakes! One additional advantage of this WOE is that I have been improving my knitting through trying to keep my hands busy and not snack in the evening! Half way through my first ever attempt at a baby's jumper currently, think it's going ok...

My morning S to S is that I did my first ever Shred this morning before work. Good lord...

DurhamDurham · 05/03/2014 09:29

Morning All

Has anyone seen the news this morning? Reports that eating a diet high in protein is as bad for you as smoking 20 cigs a day...apparently!! This applies to both meat and cheese protein. I think the report is based on one study. Not sure why they equate eatring protein with smoking as clearly they will have a very different impact upon the body. Just wondering what everyone else thinks.
