Week 8 - Low Carb Bootcamp - Last Three Weeks!

BIWI · 02/03/2014 22:07

I'm starting next week's thread a bit early as I have to be up and out of the house at sparrow's crack tomorrow.

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

And don't forget the weight tracker

It may seem like we're nearly at the end, but still the chance to lose up to another half a stone, if you can lose 2lbs a week!

Hope everyone has a good week. Mine is a bit of a minefield - out tomorrow night to celebrate both of my DCs' birthdays, and then out on Thursday with some MNetter friends, and I don't think we will be drinking sparkling water!

Good luck everyone. Flowers

I've just had pork belly reduced to £1 in M and S! And some greens.

Osborne anyone else getting nervous about boot camp ending? What do we do afterwards?

WhooshFuckerFairy · 03/03/2014 20:14

eva do you make your sauerkraut ? Is it easy or do you but it ready made hopefully!
twit - it's well documented now - but I literally did not have ( and still have not, had one less than low carb item ... I feel I have been saintly - but I stayed the same for 4 weeks . I decided it was muscle as had started exercising - but I just cut out ALL snacks and just had 3 meals a day - and no second helpings - no gin - sipped my 3 litres water and drank green and dandelion tea which was bleugghh- so hope it wasn't that ! and scales have finally whooshed !

WhooshFuckerFairy · 03/03/2014 20:16

humph Grin at target of boobs smaller than babies head ! This Grin coming from someone whose bras come with free stickers meant for children !

SarahBeenysBumblingApprentice · 03/03/2014 20:21

Evening everyone.

Lovecat I bet they daren't be rude to Gloria Hunniford! That would be like being rude to your Gran. Good to have good publicity for LC rather the pseudocience bollocks (Horizon, I'm looking at you).

Woolfey and sweetie I totally get where you're coming from re: toddlers. My eldest (3) has been challenging for months and is incessantly demanding. I can't even walk upstairs without a call for Mummy or fighting or screaming. I've made some headway with him in the last month or so but today I just got fairly despondent and for the first time on bootcamp I wanted to jump head first into a bar of Dairy Milk. It doesn't help that the youngest is about 20months - stroppy and reasonless Grin.

And Sweetie, please ignore your Mother. She may be trying to help but putting you down won't do it. Can you suggest ways to her that she could be constructive? (Not that it would work with my mother, but hey, it's worth a go!) I weight 11st 1 and I'm very pleased with that - my BMI is now 24.8. I'd like another stone and a half off.

Ewan Bubble and squeak, sauerkraut, egg? Yum Yum!

Sayra - well done at STS and Twit I'm also at a loss. Have some Thanks instead. (the daffs have gone Sad)

I've had an awful day foodwise. I managed not to eat the dairy milk but ate almost everything else.
B: Crabby's crumble and cream. (Bloody gorgeous)
L: Egg, asparagus and prawn salad with vinaigrette. Pepperami. Babybel. 2 sq 85% choc.
S: pepperami.
D: pork fillet stuffed with a little bit of sun-dried tomato, pesto and mozzarella. Kale in butter. 4 sq dark choc and another babybel for the hell of it.

I'm going to do ubercamp starting wednesday.

SarahBeenysBumblingApprentice · 03/03/2014 20:23

Whoosh I'm clinging to the idea that starting exercise is a bit of a staller, scales-wise, even though body composition may be changing. Note to self: measurements!

Lighthousekeeping · 03/03/2014 20:24

I guess pancakes tomorrow are out of the question

SayraT · 03/03/2014 21:21

Lighthouse you could make LC pancakes with ground almonds instead of flour. I don't really do proper measurements but I mix ground almonds with an egg and some almond milk to make a batter then fry.

They are not exactly like pancakes but a good substitute, you'd just have to have butter not sugar or syrup Grin

EvaTheOptimist · 03/03/2014 21:39

I'm not feeling very tempted by the idea of pancakes in any case!

thenightsky · 03/03/2014 21:42

There's a good pancake recipe somewhere on the recipe thread. I seem to recall it is egg, ground almonds and melted in the microwave cream cheese.

Piscivorus · 03/03/2014 21:53

sweetiepie I posted an answer to you on the other thread. My DS is 26, DD is 23 and I'm still trying to lose my baby weight! I weigh way more than 11 stone so I think you are doing great to be dealing with this now and will come round and slap your mother for you if she doesn't pipe down!

I weigh on Fridays and appeared to be 2lb up but was back to STS on Sat, I'm ok with that as I had been very, very bad indeed on my birthday but I've compromised and entered a 1lb gain and I'm hoping it's preceding a whoosh.

Piscivorus · 03/03/2014 21:55

These are the pancakes I have made before. They are delicious

Thumbwitch · 03/03/2014 22:09

Welllll, I was a lb down this morning as I hoped but it was a bit of a cheat really! Hey ho. Need to sort myself out and stop having the teeny chocs, pretending that as they're so small they hardly matter Blush

Hurrah for whooshfairy visits, that's great!

That Daily Fail article was all right, for once - but I did do when some utter twat in the Comments put forward that Horizon show as a good refutation of low carbing!! Dear God that show has got a lot to answer for, with its utter bollox "science" - how dare they think it's in any way representative! Idiots. Angry[soapbox]

Crabby - is she back now?

I'm quite fond of sauerkraut - is it homemade? Have you got a nice easy recipe?

Lighthousekeeping · 03/03/2014 22:13

I wish we had sugar free syrup

trashcanjunkie · 03/03/2014 22:22

Fuck, just a quick shit shout. Heard from the boy. Very motivated to leave hell mothers. Things in motion tomorrow hopefully [fingers crossed emoticon]

whooshy I'm hearing you on the snacks - I think portion wise I am gonna have to watch things too, cos that seems to have done the trick.

eva Grin

Ate these things today

cup of tea Grin

ham on the bone and cottage cheese - is cottage cheese ok? I had two dessert spoons

homemade chicken soup - clear, with one courgette and a shallot and galric and chilli flakes

a pickled egg in mayo (oh fuck, that is a snack Blush oh well)

tuna steak, mega prawn and octopus (am I bad for eating octopi?) spinach and broccoli

water water water

a really fucking strong coffee

some disgusting raspberry leaf tea

and I'm building up ankle strength so walking a lot more, cycling and went swimming half term, ooh and yoga on weds. Bloody hard yoga as well, iyengar??

Massive love to all you virtual vipers Thanks and thanks ambassador

Piscivorus · 03/03/2014 22:25

You could probably get lc syrup from one of the low carb food places online. I try to avoid those things after a mishap in my first bootcamp where I ate too many low carb sweets and attempted to turn myself inside out through my bumhole Blush

thenightsky · 03/03/2014 22:27

These are the pancakes I was thinking of

The use flax, not ground almonds.

CrabbySpringyBottom · 03/03/2014 22:43

Thanks Eva I don't think he meant to be hurtful but it stung a bit.

Thanks Ambassador, Love and Notso. The washing of the clothes can wait indefinitely - haven't even opened the case yet - but the washing of the child certainly could not... it was straight in the bath because she was properly grubby! She's obviously been barefoot a lot because the soles of her feet won't come clean at all. Little urchin. Grin The scars on her legs are pretty bad. Hopefully they'll fade with time.

We took xDP shopping and home so by the time we got back here it was gone three. She had a long hot bath, a bowlful of pork belly, beans and sweetcorn in front of Father Ted on the telly, and was falling asleep on the sofa so I put her to bed a bit before 6pm. I hope she doesn't wake up in the middle of the night. It'll take her a couple of days to get over the jet lag I think. She's had a great time but she's really pleased to be home. Smile

Foodwise today has been a bit of a disaster. I slept really badly last night so was tired and emotional and a bit wiped out today. I'm so relieved to have her back safe and it's all caught up with me a bit I think. xDP bought a box of maids of Honour tarts as a treat as I was driving us past the cafe in Kew (these tarts are a thing of extreme eggy, carby wonderfulness) and DD only ate one so I had three. Shock I then made pork, chorizo and bean stew for dinner and finished off the red wine from last night. Oh dear. Blush

CrabbySpringyBottom · 03/03/2014 22:46

Trashy excellent news on your DS. I hope he can escape her clutches for good.

Oh and Humph well done on your target trousers!

mirpuppet · 03/03/2014 22:51

I'm trying this recipe for pancakes tomorrow:

www.ibreatheimhungry.com/2012/01/cream-cheese-pancakes.html

Thumbwitch · 03/03/2014 23:38

Trashy so pleased that your DS is seeing the light, as it were and I hope he gets out of there ASAP.

Crabby - fantastic to have your DD back again! Is there any chance your ex is on the spectrum as well? Just asking, as you think he made the comment without intending to hurt you, and it seems a quite obviously hurtful statement.

Must try one of these no-carb pancake recipes...

Piscivorus · 03/03/2014 23:50

Trashy Great news that your son seems to be ready to break away. I have been thinking of you both Thanks

Bugsylugs · 03/03/2014 23:58

crabby wow i cannot believe she is home already I bet it has seemed like a lifetime to you but to me popping in it seems to have flown. So glad she is home and missed it all.

whoosh fairy visited after weeks of sts 4lbs happy.

hope everyone has a great week

RatherBeOnThePiste · 04/03/2014 07:00

So glad she's home Crabby fabulous news.

And good news there too trashy

Feel such part timer on these threads, but am still very much going, need to weigh in and am going now.

Here's for a good week for all Thanks

Seri77 · 04/03/2014 07:14

Another inch has gone from my waist, and 4/8 of an inch from my hips. My waist is now the same as last March when I was 2-3kg lighter Confused. Still hideously pear shaped. That won't change til I'm into normal BMI zone so some time to go.

Bugsy well done on the whoosh.

Re pancakes, approach with caution. I made one last week and had to put it in the food bin after one bite because it triggered major sugar craving. It's the only time that's happened since I started bootcamp.

RatherBeOnThePiste · 04/03/2014 07:17

Ok, so normal bootcamp seems to net a one pound loss per week for me, and so it seems does uber camp.

Still, another pound of lard shifted. Huzzah.

Happily I don't really like pancakes, my DC do, so we shall be stinking out the house later!
