Morning all!

Hope all who are ailing are swiftly recovered.

And hope all of those who have fallen off the wagon can climb back on with agility and aplomb.

We still have three weeks left, so a chance to get shot of another few of those pesky pounds.

Here is the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

and here is the link to the Weight Tracker

Good luck everyone Flowers

Basically two c-sections and four pregnancies have completely wrecked my abs and I have too little muscle and no muscle tone at all on my back. I tried a Pilates DVD yesterday on the advice of my physiotherapist but I don't think I was doing the exercises properly to get the benefit. My DH travels abroad a couple of times a month so classes are no use because I would miss more than I would get to iyswim. I had a fitness program on the Wii that I used to do but it wasn't intensive enough. I like the idea of the shred because I did something similar before by going to the gym five times a week for a month and I toned up visibly doing that. Now between kids and housework the most exercise I get is walking to school and back. I was just a bit concerned the shred would be too much for me because I'm pretty crap and puny when it comes to exercise.

SnowieBear · 24/02/2014 13:13

Hello, everyone! Gosh, I've spent AGES catching up with the board, so sorry I couldn't post to support you lovely ladies, but reading it I felt very close to you all - you've made me [happy] Sad Wink Blush Shock and also Angry with those making your lives difficult. Bloody hell, live IS always difficult enough, why make it worse?

Thanks to all of you for being there, it meant a lot to me to be "in touch" with you although I wasn't posting.

First off, very quick SMS - 2lbs down today, a bit momentous for me because it means I've lost a grand total of 1st 1lb this bootcamp so far. I'm now under 1st from my "realistic" target weight and my next big milestone, getting under 10st again, is only 4lbs away. Fully expecting to STS or gain a pound by this time next week as my body does its own sweet thing, but building up my mental defences to remain untroubled.

Secondly, a wee musing... I don't check my measurements, but there are odd things my body does that tell me where I am, not just the simple "my watch/rings are looser", iyskim. For example, my nose (yes, my nose!) gets a dip in the middle, like a doggy's when I lose weight and I know I am at the right weight for me when it becomes difficult to shave my armspits, as they get too concave for the razor. Do you have some strange body parts sending you messages too?

SnowieBear · 24/02/2014 13:16

Armspits?

prettybird · 24/02/2014 13:21

Stuntnun - is it worth investing in a private (1:1) session with a Pilates instructor when your dh is around just to advise you as to proper technique? Then you'd have more confidence following a DVD.

I know my instructor won't let people join her classes until you've had a couple of private lessons - unless you can convince her that you have done a lot of Pilates before and know what you are doing.

BIWI · 24/02/2014 13:56

Sammyboy12 glad you found us at last! Wink

How tall are you/how much do you weigh now?

List out for us what you've been eating and let's see if we can identify any problems for you

OP posts:
BIWI · 24/02/2014 13:58

hazchem

B)LSA porridge 2 coffee and cream
L) salad mayo, cheese and a little feta coffee with cream
D) chicken cooked in pesto with extra oil, salad and mayo
Drinks 6 herbal teas and 6 glasses of water maybe more.

What is LSA porridge?! It doesn't sound low carb!

There is a reasonable amount of dairy here, so it might be worth trying to cut that down

And, the only veg you're eating is salad!

It looks to me as if you're not eating enough. And you need to drink more water.

How much do you weigh now and how tall are you?

Am slightly amazed and very pleSed that I seem to be down 3lb this week, hurrah! It was 4lb this morning but only 3 this evening so I've put in 3 to give myself wriggle room for next week!

Hurrah for all losers this week; and to all stickers and strugglers, remember to just keep on keeping on, even if you stick for a while it's still worth staying on this WOE.

:)

Ilisten2thesoundofdrums · 24/02/2014 14:09

Just marking my place.
I have been VERY bad yesterday and oddly enough have a distinctly dodgy tummy today. I haven't weighed yet - leaving that tomorrow to hopefully have flushed out some of the carbs!!!!

Thanks for all the loosers and encouragement to all those (like me) who keep on sabataging themselves even though they do know better!!

Sammyboy12 · 24/02/2014 14:12

Hi biwi...Weekdays..B ham cheese and cucumber (take to work )
L salad with either tuna, haddock or eggs..D.. Some sort of meat and veg.....could I be overdoing the veg ? I have quite a lot, I add butter to cook with, I drizzle olive oil and mayonnaise on salad....I drink as much water as I can in week as I'm a driver and can't always find a loo !!....weekends is bacon eggs mushrooms....D...meat and veg, I usually have cabbage leeks and broccoli....weekends I have a glass of water everytime I go in the kitchen....I've had no alcohol, I do have 3 coffees a day with almond milk and have been drinking a lot of peppermint teas.....also in the week I have a few mint tic tacs lol

Sammyboy12 · 24/02/2014 14:13

Oh and I'm 5'1...and 14 stone 8 now

ChesterDrawers · 24/02/2014 14:19

Quick question – does BC finish at the end of week 9 or the end of week 10? Just planning in my diary yes I am that sad.

Nux · 24/02/2014 14:24

Joining thread - well done all on losses so far, some of you have lost loads! It's really impressive, I hope you are proud of yourselves.

I'm hoping for a better week this week but have got off to a bad start by not being able to fall asleep last night until 5.30 this morning! Up at 7.30 so sitting here feeling distinctly unreal and hungrier than usual, although thankfully haven't eaten any carbs. Promised to make cookies with DD after school so will have those to manfully ignore all week, ho hum!

captainmummy · 24/02/2014 14:59

Chester - end of week 10, although you can keep going, you know! Grin We'll prob still be here, chatting.

Sammy - what kind of veg? Are they chosen from the 'allowed' veg list on spreadsheet? It's difficult to say how much is 'too much' - weigh your portions for a few days so you know what 100g looks like, then you can tell how many carbs you are taking in.

How much oil/fat/butter? It is hard to throw aside the conditioning of decades and chuck the butter on with gay abandon! If you are eating enough fat, that should keep you full. Are you feeling satisfied with the meals?

Tic-tacs? How many? Grin Are they sugar-free? What other snacks are you having??

And the water is really important - if the ketone-levels are too high in your blood, then you will not be burn fat efficiently. That's why we drink gallons of it - but I can see that it might be difficult if you are on the road a lot. Don't overcompensate by glugging 3lts when you get home. Little and often is better.

Are you on medication? And following the previous thread where I/we tried to detect a problem in a posters food and couldn't see anything - are your breastfeeding???? Grin

Sammyboy12 · 24/02/2014 15:30

CAPTAINMUMMY Veg is cabbage broccoli leeks .and tried celeriac chips last NITE

LittleMissDisorganized · 24/02/2014 15:43

Southsearocks I'm glad it's not just me - I have been really not well the last two days and craving toast, hot cross buns, pasta that are all in my house along with biscuits aplenty though less than there were . I wasn't like this before at all - I've lots lots which is great - but this is tough. I'm glad it's not like this all the time because this is hanging on by my fingernails kind of stuff.
Hope you feel better soon.

Sammyboy12 · 24/02/2014 16:14

Oh and have ditched the tic tags they are not sugar free !! So have bought some sugar free gum instead...:)

ChesterDrawers · 24/02/2014 16:20

I'll definitely be carrying on after week 10 Captain, just wondering daydreaming instead of working when the official end will be.

I've just put a recipe for doner kebab on the recipe thread if anyone is interested. I am having it for tea tomorrow with full fat tzatziki and swede chips.

Nux · 24/02/2014 16:53

Kebab? KEBAB???!!!!

spookySwitched · 24/02/2014 17:10

chester my friend makes a similar kebab on slimming world and even after she has tried to get all the fat out its delicious. I had it with salad and a sauce she made with passata, chili and mint sauce (not sure how many carbs are in that though)

Notsoskinnyminny · 24/02/2014 17:44

Whoever's got the woosh fairy let go now and pass her on. I was a measly 1/4lb down yesterday and today I'm up 1/2 so I'm heavier than last week. Stamps feet, sticks out the pobby gob and goes off to sulk, half term only 2 glasses of wine, salad when I went out for lunch, gallons of chuffin water and +1/4lb snot fair.

DHs birthday so I've made a lc-ish carrot cake and will have a tiny piece and he can take the rest to work tomorrow, I'm going to start ubercamp.

Week 7 - Low Carb Bootcamp - Fast Approaching the Finish ...
StuntNun · 24/02/2014 18:14

Thanks Prettybird I have had a few one to one Pilates sessions already and I have found a class on Monday mornings when my DS3 is at the childminder (he goes for 4 hours a week) so I might give that a go. I think I'm going to give the shred a shot as well, it's only a fiver for the DVD after all. I'm at a good BMI now (21.5) after losing 30lb last year so I'm quite surprised how much fat I still seem to be carrying around my midsection. Hopefully a bit of toning will improve the appearance of my tummy otherwise I'm going to need a tummy tuck.

It's looking good on MFP despite failing to Ubercamp. I'm at 2000 calories today: 50g carbs and proportions are 70% fat, 20% protein, 10% carbs. I'm definitely benefitting from using MFP as I'm pretty sure I wasn't losing weight because I was eating too much rather than because I was eating the wrong stuff.

captainmummy · 24/02/2014 18:32

Sammy - I can't see anything wrong with your food, other than, as you say, your portions of veg might be too high. And possibly your water intake is not enough. Check the spreadsheet, but for your height I think you should be on 3L+ per day. That does include peppermint tea. Do you think you're drinking that amount?
I'd say keep with it for a few more weeks - maybe your cycle is at the 'hanging onto water' stage, maybe you will have a whoosh in a few more days?

Do measure too - it's this which is noticed, after all! The scales are only half the story.

arselikekylie · 24/02/2014 18:40

Another 1lb off so 16lbs alltogether.

Have been having toast every morning for breakfast for last fortnight so I probably could have lost more but I do love toast and life's too short etc.

trashcanjunkie · 24/02/2014 18:53

I am 4lb up. Fuck my 4lb loss plan. Fuck every fucking cunting bastard twat arse shit face thing.

Sorry mrshugh I feel like such a twat. I am mystified. Just don't understand what the fuck is going on in my body. I feel desperate and trapped and hopeless.

SnowieBear · 24/02/2014 18:57

Hi Sammy, I second Captain's comment re: water being very important in this WOE. You really have to find a way of sipping through the day, but I agree it's not easy if you are behind the wheel... any way you can work in some scheduled stops in your route?
