Morning all!

Hope all who are ailing are swiftly recovered.

And hope all of those who have fallen off the wagon can climb back on with agility and aplomb.

We still have three weeks left, so a chance to get shot of another few of those pesky pounds.

Here is the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

and here is the link to the Weight Tracker

Good luck everyone Flowers

monkey 20lb! amazing.

So sorry this isn't getting somewhere yet Twit and Hazchem

thenightsky · 24/02/2014 10:00

1lb in the right direction!

rubybricks · 24/02/2014 10:17

good morning all! haven't posted, haven't weighed, haven't caught up with the threads yet but am still here, clinging on for grim life...just! can totally relate to all the tales of carby twatdom but found myself defending this WOE vociferously over the weekend and so wondered what had happened to make me stray so far from the path...

will be food shopping later today, also meal planning for the week - not the most agile of climb-backs but i'm relieved you're all still here Smile

Ambassadoryouarespoilingme · 24/02/2014 10:34

3.4lbs off - am over the bloody moon! After several weeks of bobbing up and down the same few lbs it seems to have whooshed downwards. Am so happy. So that's 11.6lbs off since Jan 13. Thank you all for supporting me through this.

One thing which I find helps is eating a bit less in the evening. The other day I accidentally and mindlessly grazed on a bit of old and unappetising Xmas cake. I was so annoyed with myself, and it did raise up the old bulimic triggers, but I managed to ignore and just decided to treat that as my tea, and not eat anything else for dinner. That way I think it didn't do too much damage. (And then i threw away the rest of the cake).
Anyway, hope you all have a good day and especially those of you struggling with difficult problems.

Seri77 · 24/02/2014 10:36

Well done losers. Those who have STS or put on, it must just be water. What do your measurements say? I've still not budged on waist or hips but muffin top still reducing.

0.9lb down from last Monday but not changed since Wednesday. Was staying with friends this weekend and think that has made a difference. They were very accommodating about low carb and made food where I could easily avoid the carbs without looking strange but didn't understand about high fat, so too many cups of tea, not enough fat or water. There was NO butter and I couldn't find their olive oil or I would have drunk some in desperation.

We also went out for a curry. I abstained from poppadoms, had lamb shami and a sizzling lamb dish with peppers and onions and spinach bhaji. I had some green sauce which was very sweet though so must have been some sugar in that. I really really enjoyed my curry and didn't feel I was missing out without rice and naan.

So, lots of water and fat, minimise dairy this week.

I bought some pork rind for making scratchings for 85p this morning. I read about drying it out with a hair dryer before cooking for extra crispness. Anyone tried this?

LittleMissDisorganized · 24/02/2014 10:42

I'b lost the poudds I put od whed we wedt away, plus 3 bore, takigg be to 17lb sidce the start of bootcabp. I am also rather bunged up and full of congestion in my sinuses and nose and throat and I AM going to the doctors tomorrow, meantime I am talking as above and DH is making fun of me. Laughter is the best medicine and all that.
Weigh in day is Sunday for me - so I shall probably spend all week undoing the damage of the biscuits I had yesterday afternoon feeling sorry for myself - they were not worth it. Pure addictive behaviour. Made me feel really angry and disappointed with myself. DH just gave me a hug, bless him, he knows that I beat myself enough plenty and will talk to me about it when I am feeling better probably.

Dairy free from today for health reasons, not weight loss reasons, will see how it goes - have some dairy free sugar free dark chocolate (what is left to be in it?!?!) - it's not the real thing but hopefully if feeling desperate that will be a little treat. .

Hope those who are struggling along with life being tough and losing (or rather not) are being kind to themselves, being gentle and caring. Thanks

CrabbySpringyBottom · 24/02/2014 10:49

Wow it's just taken me ages to catch up with the thread. Haven't time to write as much as I'd like but...

BIWI the scary bit was the look you gave me when I confessed to having had pasta for lunch. Grin

Trashy the photo was posted on one of the earlier threads, rather than on my profile.

Athel that sounds hugely stressful. Sad Hope the contract gets signed soon and that your car holds out.

Helium what a monumental fuckwit your xH is. Angry I bet SS will see straight through him.

Sorry to hear of all the vomiting, diarrhoea, stress, struggles and carbytwat food food cravings that have been visited upon us all by this unfair universe! Flowers for everyone and the hope that this week will be a better one.

Rup if it's any comfort to you, I too have been a MASSIVE CARBY TWAT this week, especially at DMIL's this weekend. There has been too much wine, pasta, bread, desserts, roasties, elmlea and sugar in coffee [boak] because that's what DMIL served, and I even made cakes last night. Shock I don't know what happened really but as Willie wisely said last week... Carbs Beget Carbs.

The scales this morning showed a 6lb gain. 6lbs!!!! I am incredibly fucking shocked. I usually weigh after having been to the loo, iykwim, and didn't this morning, but still... 6lbs!

It was just the shock that I needed though, tbh, and has showed me that I can't get away with it.

I'm going to be ultra strict today, up the water again - hadn't been drinking anywhere near enough - and reweigh tomorrow after going to the loo. Whatever the scales show tomorrow will be what goes on the spreadsheet.

Well done all the losers and keep on keeping on everyone!

spookySwitched · 24/02/2014 11:30

hazchem I feel your pain. I've not lost much weight this bootcamp at all despite being really good most of the time. I do usually have a few drinks on a Saturday night but try and stick to cava or champagne or gin and slimline tonic lets not mention tequila shots.
However the rest of the week I'm super good, I mainly eat eggs, unprocessed meat and salads (with plenty mayo and butter) and as I've not been that hungry I generally don't snack.

This week I'm going to try and increase my water intake as I do think ive been drinking less and less as bootcamp goes on. Fingers crossed, I can't give up, its not like any other diet is filled with delicious things I can eat. If i swap to weight watchers or slimming world I'll still not be able to eat bread and biscuits but would have to give up the butter/mayo that makes this WOE enjoyable.

On the positive side I do feel slimmer, my jeans are not tight and I don't feel bloated.

StuntNun · 24/02/2014 11:31

Has anyone done the 30-day shred? I'm fed up of my flabby abs and I wondered whether that would be a good way to tone up. I actually think my tummy looks worse than it did before I lost weight - maybe all the fat was holding everything together?

Bugsylugs · 24/02/2014 11:32

Well done all the losers, commiserations to all the sts and gains.
I gained 2lb according to the WII but on its actually weight it said 1 so have stuck with that. Not surprised of unhappy about it as Bday weekend so more alcohol and too much bad carbs but was factored in so am ok with it.

sorry not to name check love this thread and the support even though i only tend to get on here on Mondays.

love not being bloated and having my mood on a more even keel

Bugsylugs · 24/02/2014 11:39

stuntnun have started it several times never got to the full 30 days got upto level 3 probably 3 days into that. Yep I had several benefits, felt fitter, visible improvement in arms. she also has one I think designed for abdomen. definately worth doing one of them, though may really burn your muscles due to this woe

LittleMissDisorganized · 24/02/2014 11:41

I'd missed the stuff at the end of the last thread
Athelstane that sounds incredibly stressful and you went for your usual way of coping - well, it's a marathon not a sprint, this habit changing stuff. Paraphrasing BIWI sometimes you have just got to get through the best that you can - maybe that was the best you could do at the time.

helium I am still thinking of you and the stress it must be. Twin 4 year olds sounds wonderful... and absolutely exhausting as well!

trashcan I love your positivity. I recently broke through a significant (to me) stone number - just got to keep going and it will go. I don't think I'm capable of imagining much below my 3 stone target... maybe to 4... but even so far I feel positive about myself which I never did on the way up iyswim!!

MPR that does sound like a bug, I hope you are doing ok today.

I don't know how much I put on with my two days off because by the time I'd weighed myself I'd had 3 days back on! - but my experience is like MPR that once I was back, solidly, no wavering, on it, the following week (which was this week) I lost the gain plus extra. But then after my WWI I hit some biscuits so repeat the same I expect this week. Ugh. Will take my own advice - this really is a marathon and sometimes things happen that I cope badly with... but less things, and less badly.

SarahBeenysBumblingApprentice · 24/02/2014 11:57

Hi everyone,

I'm rushing to actually put something on the thread after being AWOL for about half week. I've been lurking and my thoughts are with you all but it's been chaos at Casa Beeny - out builder has started on the bathroom giving us one day notice he did offer us three weeks time but for some reason we went with one day, a shoulder muscle folded itself up in a mess of spasm and DH kept being very very late home. On a more positive note I spent one evening booking tickets for Camp Bestival Grin Grin Grin

Things I've learnt this week:
There are more carbs in dark chocolate than you think - don't eat half the bar Blush.
Sainsbury's cafe does omelette
Mainlining masarpone is possibly not good for weight loss.
Pilates hurts more than spinning!

My rate of loss has definitely slowed down - I'm technically 2lb down on last week but really I'm just fluctuating around a point that's about a lb lower than two weeks ago. I'm going to try to eat more like I did on bootcamp i.e. eat much less cream but still some cheese and see how the next week goes.

There are some fantastic losses reported above! Thanks to those loosing more slowly.

SarahBeenysBumblingApprentice · 24/02/2014 11:59

Stuntnun I do shred on occasion, mainly when I can't get out to run. It's good because it's hardcore and only 20 minutes... but it's incredibly dull (sorry Jillian)!

CrabbySpringyBottom · 24/02/2014 12:09

It has shown me, not it has showed me. Tut. Blush

Southsearocks · 24/02/2014 12:14

De-lurking for update. The scales aren't moving much but I tried on some trousers that I haven't been able to wear for two years and they fit! I'm so pleased! The scales go up and down by about 3 or 4 pounds on a daily basis but something is happening.

But I've got flu and today I would kill for something carb-y. Would it be too much to ask for a bowl of tomato soup and a crumpet? Blush

MrsHughJarse · 24/02/2014 12:16

FFS
When finally catch that whoosh fairy .... Grrrrr

Nothing .....NADA.

Despite dairy free
Trashy's 4lb loss plan
Sipping all my water
Not cheating at all ( apart from one very weak gin /soda)
Gym x5 this week
Support tights ...

Bottom lip out
On the bright side ( as this is the side I mainly live ) I may be putting on muscle and when I finally get there - I know how to maintain !!!!
Aaaaggghhhhh
I just want to lose some more weight - stamps feet ....

EwanHoozami · 24/02/2014 12:23

alrighty then.

Hooray for whooshes and manly backslaps for everyone else

I'm not weighing for a while as all has gone slightly chesty-bits up. I'm back on some meds that I know interfere with weight loss but I'm keeping LC'ing.

Did anyone else notice that Lidl are now selling eschallion shallots for half the price of Sainsbo? Hope it continues and it's not just one of their weekly deals (like their job lot of scuba gear or granny knickers or whatever else they got on the cheap this week)

prettybird · 24/02/2014 12:23

Another pound off for me :) I'm really happy with my slow and steady progress. My big losses were last year and this time round my goal is to get to my target weight in an achievable fashion.

and once I've reached my target weight of less than 10 stone, I'll move the scales to a different position where they show a heavier weight and re-start the progress to my target weight WinkBlush

EvaTheOptimist · 24/02/2014 12:24

Stunt I've done 4 sessions of shred now so am a complete expert of course its good as its short - exercise for people who don't like exercise as someone said.

But so far I don't like the effect its having on my abs. I think its a bit full-on for my wrecked stomach muscles. I swear my waist has got thicker not thinner. The yoga class I was going to was much better, seemed to be rebuilding deep muscles in my tum. I just can't get to any of the yoga sessions this week or the last 3 weeks

I think that might be a round-about way of saying - depends how bad your stomach muscles are - and if you do shred take it gently on the abs maybe - and try yoga or pilates?

prettybird · 24/02/2014 12:34

I do the Shred (currently doing Ripped in 30 having recently gone through the Shred again) - but I've also done Pilates for over 13 years. She doesn't explain the ab exercises very well so it would be very easy to do them ever so slightly wrong - which could indeed result in your waist thickening and not diminishing.

I would strongly suggest finding a good Pilates instructor and even just having a few lessons to make sure you are using the right technique. I go to a Body Control Pilates instuctor - why not see if there is one in your area?

prettybird · 24/02/2014 12:36

Oh - and don't attempt the full sit-ups in Level 3 - soooo easy to do them wrong and develop a bulge in your tummy. Try and do them very correctly (pulling navel to spine) and do the easier version (striaght legs and arms) - even holding light weights in your hands, which makes it slightly easier still.

Sammyboy12 · 24/02/2014 12:43

Hi I have been reading all your great posts for inspiration, motivation and tips.....I have just done bc for 2 wks....I was very strict and stuck to it so when I weighed myself this morning and I had only Lost 1 and a half 1b.......so disappointed , been drinking loads of water, thought I was eating plenty of fat, butter in veg's and cooking with it.etc..I don't know what I've done wrong...plz help before I reach for the crisps !!....am trying to stay positive and telling my self at least it's a loss, but I was hoping for more ....I do feel better and my stomach is defo more flatter...could do with some help please.....

Piscivorus · 24/02/2014 12:51

I am an exercise wimp so do the seven minute workout rather than shred. I have it on my phone so can do it easily without any preparation.

Stayed the same this week but onwards and downwards

SarahBeenysBumblingApprentice · 24/02/2014 12:52

The pilates session that I went to was fitness pilates - it's left me stiffer than shred does which I take as a positive.

MrsHugh oh no, that's rough! It must be muscle, surely?
