Here's The Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

And The Weight Tracker

By now, if everyone has been following Bootcamp/Bootcamp Light rules properly then we should all be keto-adapted, and should be burning fat. Yippee!!

Hope everyone has a good week.

there is not going to be a world shortage of jelly babies any time soon. you can have them another time

CrabbyWinterBottom · 11/02/2014 17:38

Sayra thank you, yes she's having a great time, although the day after they got there she found some strange marks on her legs. They got increasingly sore so xDP put iodine on them (he's obsessed with bloody iodine, puts it on everything Hmm ) and within an hour they'd blistered badly. At DD's request he then burst the blisters and covered them with a plaster. Then he emailed me and asked me to look up the marks he'd described on the internet to see what they were. I was a bit very Hmm about this and said don't put iodine on it; take her straight to a GP or walk in clinic! Having been on three flights, through three airports and having questionable hand hygiene (DD, not xDP Wink ), it could be bloody anything. Unsurprisingly the doctor hadn't a clue what they were as they were now totally obscured by weeping blisters, stained bright yellow from the iodine, and she'd had an allergic reaction to the plasters so surrounded by a livid rash. Hmm Hmm So they've given her antibiotics, are treating them as chemical burns, presumably from the fucking bastard iodine, and she's got great big burns dressings on her legs which means she can't swim (or shower). Sad She's enjoying herself apart from that though, thanks for asking. Grin The quality of living seems over there seems better than ours and it looks so beautiful. Do you think you'll go back?

Thumb hope DS's squiggly tum is better!

Welcome Lurkers! Come out of the shadows and into the sun with us! Grin

Roaring glad you like the berry crumble. Smile
Willie I could (and do Hmm ) eat the crumble until it comes out of my ears, but when I made it for a non low carbing friend, she found it not nearly sweet enough for her tastes. So if you're making it for non low carbers they might find it a bit tart (fools! why would you want to add sugar to that wonderfully tart, buttery, creamy, nutty wonderfulness?).

Gerry 11lbs in 5 weeks is a brilliant loss! Confused

Love well done on surviving the cafe of cake.

Yes am definitely premenstrual - can feel it all going a bit wrong in my head and body. I get a big appetite too Willie. Oh well as least I'm only craving low carb treats.

Steel I totally have The Guilt too. Am all anxious about not getting enough done, that I'm wasting the time whilst DD is away when I should be getting Useful Things done, and convinced that other people are so much more productive, organised and disciplined than me. Probably because they are. Hmm

CalamityKate · 11/02/2014 17:39

All I fancy doing for dinner is putting some pork belly in to cook slowly while I'm in tesco, then making Crabby's Berry crumble. Is that ok?

I really fancy a hot pud and I think that'll hit the spot nicely!

WillieWaggledagger · 11/02/2014 17:42

thanks crabby, i'll bear that in mind. for puddings i quite often do them in individual portions, with sugar added to those destined for carby twats Wink, and without for me

this works well for things like chocolate mousse, and i could probably do the same with the crumble in ramekins

that way i can have a low carb pudding but without looking like i am

ChesterDrawers · 11/02/2014 18:07

[Grin] Crabby I've bought the ingredients for the crumble but will be quartering it to be on the safe side. My problem is the whole tub of clotted cream in the fridge - last time I ate the whole one straight from the pot with a spoon Blush

Calamity we are tea twins! I've got belly pork in too and will be having crumble for pud.

ChesterDrawers · 11/02/2014 18:10

Why did my Grin not work?????

prettybird · 11/02/2014 18:22

My dad (doctor) always used to disapprove of iodine. Iirc, it was because it seals potential infection beneath.

prettybird · 11/02/2014 18:27

Willie - I make a lovely chocolate pot dessert that is low carb but very tasty. It uses high quality chocolate, 2 eggs a little milk and one orange but makes eight (in wee espresso cups) so I reckon the juice of an eighth of an orange is ok for a treat!Wink

TossedSaladsAndScrambledEggs · 11/02/2014 18:29

In the allowed veg section of the website it lists potatoes, parsnips and broad beans. Really? Sorry if this has been commented on before...

thenightsky · 11/02/2014 18:31

I've been known to eat a tub of clotted cream with a spoon too Blush

DurhamDurham · 11/02/2014 18:34

I've just melted some dark chocolate and mixed with some extra thick double cream. I then spooned it into some ramekin dishes and ate one. I did intend to chill in the fridge first but once I got a taste there was no way that was going to happen. It was delicious, it may not escape the wrath of BIWI's stick but it was worth it Grin

SayraT · 11/02/2014 18:41

Crabby sorry to hear that your DD has blistered/burnt legs, I hope they are ok soon. Glad they aren't stopping her enjoying herself. I would like to go back but towards the end of my time there some of the things I liked at the start were pissing me off. Example: in the town I lived in the chemist sold toiletries and medicine, the butchers sold meat, the fruit and veg shop sold fruit and veg etc etc. At first I found this nice but towards the end I wanted to be able to go to the supermarket and pick up food, clothes, shampoo and a book all at once!! The way of life I found was more relaxed and the people I met were very very friendly, I felt very safe and spent quite a few nights sleeping in random places while I was between jobs (I worked as a relief milker - that's someone who milks cows when the usual stockman is off/whatever Grin). It is beautiful and it was nice having pretty much guaranteed sunshine every day in the summer. I also worked in Canada withe my OH building cattle pens etc, he would love to go back to Canada but I'm not as keen. Sorry that was a bit long Smile

I have had one slip today but I do not care. I ordered some Hotel Chocolat chocolates for a friend and ordered myself a wee bag (I shouldn't have). I have had one tonight and it was amazing Grin, I don't feel the need to eat the whole bag though so I won't. I am happy with having one occasional chocolate, I didn't really eat chocolate anyway and the last time I had HC chocolates was 2 years ago. Once every two years is ok I think!!

StuntNun · 11/02/2014 18:41

First day of my DIY ubercamp came in at 21g carbs according to MFP. Today was 4% carbs, 17% protein and a whopping 79% fat, half of which was saturated fat! So I think it went rather well, just another pint of water to drink before bedtime. I had a long walk today as well so I want to see the scales moving in the right direction soon please.

An AMAZING discovery today was frying bacon using water. Seriously! I put streaky bacon in a skillet frying pan, no added fat, just covered with cold tapwater then put it on a high heat. When the water was gone I turned it down to a medium heat. I think the idea is the fat renders out into the water without the bacon drying out. It produced rashers that were crispy like fried bacon but not brittle, more of a chewy texture. Served with mushrooms fried in rather a lot of butter and a BPC it was a very good start to the day.

CalamityKate · 11/02/2014 19:24

God that crumble is lovely! Thank you Crabby!

Although I fucked up somewhat - tesco didn't have frozen mixed fruit; all they had was blueberries so I had blueberry crumble. Which was lovely but it bumped the carbs up a bit.

Still, my belly pork strips didn't have any carbs (I had them on their own, just gnawing away like a cave person) so it evens out.

Going to try the Pecans of Doom tomorrow!

Lighthousekeeping · 11/02/2014 19:38

Anyone got a link to the crumble you all love? I'm not ready for it just yet but I reckon by next week I can have some berries. Thanks.

QueenofallIsee · 11/02/2014 19:43

after a small gain last week Sad am trying to be firm

b. 3 rashers bacon and scrambled eggs
l. leftover roast chicken with cucumber
d. sirloin steak with fried courgettes, shallots and mushroom
s. 2 teaspoons of peanut butter with celery sticks

hoping this is ok

CalamityKate · 11/02/2014 19:51

WillieWaggleDagger linked to it at 12.57

Sorry can't do links myself!

ElBombero · 11/02/2014 20:15

In the absence of ingredients for crumble I made a type of choc granache, 'twas lush... Melted two squares of 90% choc n very slowly stired in double cream Grin

ElBombero · 11/02/2014 20:17

X post durham

Lovecat · 11/02/2014 20:18

Bloody hell, crabby, poor DD! Glad she's enjoying herself regardless but what a nightmare...

Just a quick bit of sms before bedtime.
B - Belgian brekky
L - BPC
D - remains of yesterday's Bolognese with Swede chips broccoli and green beans. DH back from Paris but was fed carbs on the train so I didn't do the dinner I'd planned, which included crabby's crumble - although having read about its addictive qualities perhaps that's just as well... :)

I'm pleasantly stuffed but need to shift another litre of water before bedtime. Am getting close to the denouement of my book so I may take it and my water bottle to bed.

See you all tomorrow for another day of being a loser! :o

CalamityKate · 11/02/2014 20:18

That's a nice idea! Might try that now! I deserve it; I've been painting DS2s room for 2 days and I ache all over and am knackered.

Southsearocks · 11/02/2014 20:41

Thanks for the encouragement. Funnily enough I weighed myself tonight not addicted to the scales oh no not me and I'm two pounds lighter than I was this morning! How does that work then??

ChesterDrawers · 11/02/2014 20:56

Going to have to go to bed now too or I will eat more crumble! I quartered the recipe and made two little ones in ramekins. I have eaten one with clotted cream. It was amazing. The other is talking to me, begging to be eaten, but i am full so I will not give in.

Fab comfort food, but I think I ought to save it for special occasions or I'll be having it for breakfast, dinner and tea like Crabby

DurhamDurham · 11/02/2014 21:10

ElBombero, at least you had a name for it, I wasn't even aware it was a ganache!! Grin

teaandthorazine · 11/02/2014 21:16

Evening all.

Back on the wagon today. Feeling very cravey after a weekend of sugary overindulgence but managed to avoid chocolate croissants this morning, flapjack and the most amazing yoghurty/cranberry/sugar thingies in the office this afternoon (thanks colleagues Hmm) AND baguette when I got home. So feeling pretty good about that. Flabby and bleaugh, though; my stomach is bloated again and I feel knackered. Sugar is the devil for me, it really, really is.

Today:
Cup of tea for breakfast, not enough but was in a rush
L: prawn salad (not enough prawns!), with two small slices of cheese
D: mussels in white wine and garlic sauce, will probably have some yoghurt, linseeds and cream later

About 1.5 litres of water so far, three cups of coffee. I know I need more water.

Meh. I know low carb is right, I know it works, I know I feel generally WAY better when I'm eating this way. But I just want to DEMOLISH that flipping baguette with slabs of cold butter on top. Might have to go and chuck it out for the birds Sad
