Here's The Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

And The Weight Tracker

By now, if everyone has been following Bootcamp/Bootcamp Light rules properly then we should all be keto-adapted, and should be burning fat. Yippee!!

Hope everyone has a good week.

PS another 1lb down YAY!

theQuibbler · 10/02/2014 14:12

2lbs which is in the right direction. Been having a wobble about how much I still have to go and feeling overwhelmed and hopeless. But it's pointless to go there - just need to break it all down into smaller targets. No need to focus on the big picture because, for me, it's just too much.

CiderwithBuda · 10/02/2014 14:19

TheQuibbler - I know what you mean! I lost three stone in six months on weight watchers two years ago and put 2 back on so I'm re-losing that which is doubly frustrating! I have 5 stone to lose. I'm concentrating on getting under half stone and then stone markers.

siiiiiiiiigh · 10/02/2014 14:24

I've STS.

Must admit, I'm gutted.

I know about the plateauing, I know about the whoosh fairy, I'm prepared to admit to hoovering up pints of cream and greek yogurt over blueberries and strawberries every day, and a couple of vodka and tonics too...BUT, I've been swimming half a mile x3 week, and am drinking 4l of water.

Usually, at this point, I'd give up. "stuff it, I just can't lose weight"

So, I measured myself, and am down several inches all over.

Trying to be content with that, but, I can feel my inner self-defeater brewing...

No blueberries, less dairy, no vodka and tonic. More swimming, more water? More than 4l? I'm spending all day on the pan...

GatoradeMeBitch · 10/02/2014 14:28

Welcome microchips! There is a very good recipe thread on this board, have you seen it? It's very long though! I love the Chester's chicken - beautiful, and crunchy kale.

SarahBeenysBumblingApprentice · 10/02/2014 14:30

chester do you like seafood? You could do scallops and bacon and cauliflower purée as a starter. Pot au chocolate for pud. Struggling for mains ideas, someone else help! Grin

GatoradeMeBitch · 10/02/2014 14:32

Is it ok if I change my week one 1lb gain on the spreadsheet to a zero? I don't want to cheat, but I was only half-in that first week, and that minus one messes up my losses. I thought I'd lost 10lb but it's actually 11.

GatoradeMeBitch · 10/02/2014 14:36

Oh no, I got it the wrong way round! I think it's a 9lb loss, not 10. Angry

StuntNun · 10/02/2014 14:45

I would love to give ubercamp a try as I'm not seeing much weight loss this bootcamp, two pounds down but my daily fluctuations are more than that. Unfortunately too many of the recipes on it require eggs or mayonnaise. Hmm I may have to devise my own ubercamp meal plan.

HumphreyCobbler · 10/02/2014 14:47

Hello everyone
so interesting to read everyone's weighing experiences that I am nearly tempted to start weighing but I had better resist the temptation as I know it can be very counter productive for me.

siiiigh - several inches down all over is brilliant! Don't be disheartened

captainmummy · 10/02/2014 14:58

Siiiigh - inches off is what peiople notice! they don't know what you weigh, or if you've lost 1lb or whatever, but they will notice if you ave lost 2 inches off your waist, or lost off your face etc.

Don't get too hung up on the scales.

Well done to all losers

MicrochipsAndMemories · 10/02/2014 15:13

GatoradeMeBitch No I haven't, I'll go check it out and hopefully get some ideas.

How do I get added to the spreadsheet?

Lovecat · 10/02/2014 15:20

Chester, I have an amazing recipe for duck in red wine sauce from the original Atkins 'Quick and Easy' cookbook - it is gorgeous with green beans on a bed of swede mash. Let me see if I can find it...Smile

CiderwithBuda · 10/02/2014 15:59

Siiiiigh - just lose the berries in yoghurt and cream. That might help. I love it too but only have it on Saturdays mornings as my treat breakfast.

GatoradeMeBitch · 10/02/2014 16:12

Actually, it's not an 11 or 9 pound loss. It's 10. I'll put the maths dunce hat on and sit in the corner...

microchips I think BIW does the spreadsheet, I'm sure she'll add you when she sees you've joined us.

Piscivorus · 10/02/2014 16:40

Does anybody think this is a difficult time of year to lose weight?

I have done this for a while now, this is my 5th bootcamp and have noticed my Oct-Xmas ones are impressive, summer one so-so but Jan-Mar last year was hard going (but at least I didn't put on!) and although I'm losing this time it is slow.

On a positive note I have made a variation on Mary Berry's Fragrant Lamb Korma with my lamb shoulder fillet which looks and smells very good indeed. I browned the meat then took it out and browned onions and peppers in the same fat. Made a paste from 60g ground almonds, 2 tblsp curry powder, 2tblsp garam masala, ginger, garlic and chopped green chilli with 6tblsp water and added that to the onions till fragrant. returned lamb to the pan and added 300ml greek yoghurt. Now I know there will be some carbs in that from the veg, almonds and yoghurt but it looks to make about 6-8 healthy servings (I used 1kg lamb) so not too bad for a really rich and creamy dish.

CrabbyWinterBottom · 10/02/2014 16:58

Godalmighty that berry crumble is like fruity crack cocaine. I can't stop eating it! Confused

Ambassadoryouarespoilingme · 10/02/2014 17:07

Fruity crack cocaine - that has to be catchphrase of the day!

Lovecat · 10/02/2014 17:21

Found the recipe - it's 6g carbs per serving in total (but it's sooo worth it)

Serves 2

2 boneless duck breasts
2 tablespoon of butter
2 large shallots, finely chopped
1/2 cup dry red wine
1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce
1 tsp liquid beef bouillon
1/2 cup of double cream

Prick the duck breasts with a fork, then fry upside down in a dry frying pan (you seriously will not need any additional cooking fat!) for 5-6 mins until the skin has crisped up. By now your pan will be swimming in duck fat! Flip the duck over and fry for 3-4 mins, depending on how pink you like your duck. I like it quite pink and tender, you may prefer it well done, if so cook it for longer.

Remove duck from pan and keep warm.

Add the butter to the pan then add shallots and cook until barely golden (about 1 min). Pour in the wine, balsamic vinegar, soy sauce, worcester sauce and bouillon and bring to the boil. Turn the heat down low and simmer for 5 mins, then add the cream and heat through without boiling if at all possible. Slice the duck into thin slices and pour the sauce over. Serve asap.

LUSH :o

BIWI · 10/02/2014 17:36

microchips - you're on the spreadsheet! the lovely Willie will re-alphabetise it at some point. Go to the weight tracker to enter your individual weight (that's private - you can choose to only use that if you want to)

siiiiiiiiigh · 10/02/2014 17:48

you are all quite correct, folk are commenting on me changing shape.

This feels a bit like starting bootcamp - eating fat is quite a leap of faith for a repeated dieter (who's 4 stones heavier than when she started trying to lose weight 20 years ago...) in that I need to get my head round "inches not pounds" and "trend is your friend"

It's all good advice, and I know that you are right - but,

Am not buying berries and will eat less cream.

ChesterDrawers · 10/02/2014 18:04

Mmmmm, that duck sounds amazing, well worth the 6g!

Menu for Friday then:
Starter: scallops, bacon and cauli purée
Main: Duck a la Lovecat
Dessert: choc pot - pretty sure there is one in the harcombe book. Bit of a cheat but not my worst discretion since the start of BC

We bought a bottle of prosecco yesterday as a treat so will have that too. Proper exciting Smile

Disclaimer: I know valentines day is a load of tosh, but my DH works away lots and as it's on a Friday this year I thought it would be a good excuse for a nice meal.

scratchviolet · 10/02/2014 18:05

Aargh - kids and I have just tucked into a pile of yummy BBQ ribs made by a friend. It's just dawned on me that the sauce will have been full of sugar. Oh well- at least it wasn't accompanied by a plate of chips.

ChesterDrawers · 10/02/2014 18:07

Sorry, meant to say thanks Sarah and Lovecat for your ideas Blush

Notsoskinnyminny · 10/02/2014 18:16

Well done ladies, some fabulous losses. Commiserations to those who STS or put on - I put on 3/4lb but lost another inch but I'm not too disheartened especially as I had a 2lb followed by a 5lb gain after my morning water 2 days running last week - I eat breakfast when I get to work so not sure how 2 glasses of water and a rooibos tea followed by a poo the reason for reweighing can do that. I'm loving the food but need to think about my portion sizes and maybe take a bit more for lunch and have a smaller evening meal. I've upped the water since Friday and fat since I discovered BPCs so can the losers please send the woosh fairy on her way.

My fingers have finally gone down but my boobs are massive and they were already huge. I feel like I've missed a feed and if I knock them they throb. I'm wondering if it could be the HRT I started at xmas.

Taxi duty beckons, DDs coming home from uni for a couple of nights so DH will have to suffer trashy, girly telly as he's outnumbered Grin
