Here's The Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

And The Weight Tracker

By now, if everyone has been following Bootcamp/Bootcamp Light rules properly then we should all be keto-adapted, and should be burning fat. Yippee!!

Hope everyone has a good week.

Hiya Losers.
Had the most delicious supper of pork stir fry with lots of garlic / ginger / chili, followed by a bowl of delicious crumble courtesy of Crabby's recipe. It was luverly. I shall be having the rest for breakfast.

Piscivorus · 12/02/2014 22:23

Crabby Your puddings sound gorgeous. I am resisting valiantly so far

I finished off the Mary Berry korma tonight, it is one of the nicest curries I have ever made so worth a look in her big cookery book if you can find it (can't find it online)

Can I just say BLUE CHEESE... BLEEURGH! It's milk that's gone off with mould on it! Envy

When I was 16/17 I went on a 3 week holiday geography trip in the summer holidays. One of the places we went to was the caves where they make Roquefort. It's a bit like a James Bond film set! But the smell is incredible. I had to make a decision there and then whether orn ot I was going to chuck up or like blue cheese.

I like blue cheese.

MicrochipsAndMemories · 12/02/2014 23:29

How do you guys manage to keep up with this thread, so many posts to read!!! and not enough time. Will try catch up tomorrow.

I've been busy building nursery furniture today since it's my day off. I think I've eaten better though.

Breakfast - 2 slices of Leerdammer Original, 2 slices each of prosciutto, salami and chorizzo.

Dinner - 2 sausages, 2 bacon, 100g mushrooms cooked in lots of butter.

Tea - 2 Bird's Eye Sticky & Sweet Bbq Chicken Chargrills. Was busy so just chucked these in the oven.

I have also had 2 squares of Tesco 85% Chocolate.

My Fitness Pal says I have eaten Fat=62% Protein=27% Carbs=11% 35g carbs. How many grams is everyone aiming not to go over?

CrabbyWinterBottom · 13/02/2014 00:00

Grin at Ewan getting happy off a chicken drumstick and Durham being an especially good low carb nun. Grin

Chester hope he's landed safely by now. Not quite seeing the logic of Arsenal game= safe flying conditions, Grin but still, the winds have died right down now, thankfully.

Tea I'll never clean up my act entirely, I don't think - I'll always have a fuckit button that gets pressed every now and then. I really feel the benefits of eating well and drinking less, so the fuckit moments are diminishing I think. Plus, I really do enjoy this WOE and there are treats on it that I really love.

Oh god that's made me think about crumble again. Hmm I see you're having the same problem Gator and Queenie. What have I done, starting this crumble madness? BIWI will be beating me with the big stick for tempting you all from the path of righteousness. Grin

Pseudo that looks fab! Did you enjoy it?

Pisci stay safe! Hope you aren't affected too badly by it.

Micro if you're following bootcamp rules (and not eating too much crumble like me) then you don't need to worry about counting carbs.

Food today
L - crustless quiche
S - greek yoghurt 'ice cream'.
S - pesto. Square chocolate (not together).
S - celeriac crisps with lemony alioli. Delicious.
D - roast chicken with broccoli and celeriac dolphin pose.
3L water, 3 cups tea.

trashcanjunkie · 13/02/2014 01:15

Please will you bastards all shut the hell up about avocado and sodding blue cheese? I am dairy free ffs and it's a serious temptation!

My good grief I'm getting later and later everyday! I feel so tired. I have got less chin than I had, though which is ace.

Food today

B - Bacon, scramb egg, fried tomato slice

L - Tuna, mayo, few lil gem leaves, baby spinach leaves

S - Mr Porky

D - Belly pork, prawns, wilted spinach

all cooking done in frying pan with lashings butter

Late supper - three bits of back bacon

5 liters water

I am suffering heartburn. Tips anyone?

mrsHughJarse Love the pic Grin Grin Grin That was nearly me today!! It was raining upwards! Into my nostrils. My waterproof was the tits though, Grin and I was out with a record of ten dogs! Only six were under my direct care though! I run a doggy social on a Wednesday and meet up with others to walk together. It was a riot today! Very good fun. I hope you guys are holding out ok down there - I lived in a little village 3 miles from Ilminster when I was a young un. We had some pretty severe flooding then, but nothing on the scale of now. Fingers crossed for you all!

crabby cwtch them babies for me please. I love newborns much better than actual children All you need to do is sit on your bum surrounded by 'supplies' and they don't get bored or anything. Twins! I got me a set of those. But whereas I ordered identical girls, there seemed to be a mishap, and I got ds 2 and 3, NONE MATCHING!!

humanordancer

pisco no, you may say nothing derogatory about the holiest of holy cheeses Angry Grin

Love you all, good night xx

StuntNun · 13/02/2014 06:47

Microchips most people get the best weight loss staying below 50g carbs although some people prefer to keep it below 20g. Others, particularly men, can lose weight while eating between 50-100g of carbs a day, particularly if you do a lot of exercise. If you follow the Bootcamp rules then you shouldn't need to worry about counting calories or carbs.

My mum is over to visit - I wonder what she's going to say about my fridge full of lard, beef dripping, goose fat and huge amounts of butter.

AthelstaneTheUnready · 13/02/2014 07:14

mornink.

Crabby, I too have a very large fuckit button. Also having fewer and fewer moments, but am certain as certain can be that some time over the next few months there will be a fuckit evening. Strangely, fuckit only ever leads to prosecco and those guylian chocolates. Nothing else. But it leads to a LOT of them, and my hands are always in agony the next day, let alone the other side effects.

Power cut here yesterday evening, and a flooded river. not quite up to the front door thankfully, as was flooded just some months ago and not ready to do it again just yet. As the toll down south mounts to over 1,000 flooded homes, in the north we can't help but remember 5 years ago when over 25,000 homes flooded up here and the country in general went... meh.

moving on... hope to get decision on new house today, so not homeless in 3 weeks time. fingers crossed.

RatherBeOnThePiste · 13/02/2014 07:19

Morning all :)

Sadly not able to keep up at the mo, v busy in Woolly Hugs Sad

But am still on the Bootcamp wagon

Love to all affected by flooding, scary times, we have two friends who have had to evacuate from Shepperton, just so worried about it all.

Thanks
TossedSaladsAndScrambledEggs · 13/02/2014 07:21

Trashcanjunkie, for heartburn you can buy ranitidine over the counter, always did the job with my pregnancy heartburn.

WillieWaggledagger · 13/02/2014 07:43

hope people are safe and warm and dry - the forecast still looks horrendous

BIWI · 13/02/2014 07:43

Oh no, Pistey Sad

... and [guilty face] I haven't got further than about 4 rows in my latest square. Will remedy that this weekend.

stuntnun my mum can get behind the low carbing (she is a GP and recommends low carbing in particular to menopausal women with strong symptoms) but she cannot get on board with the high fat aspect. i have to take my own butter and full fat mayonnaise when i go and visit (yes, i'm one of those guests! though it's sort of ok when it's your own parents i hope). that said i don't actually talk to her very much about this WOE because we have a slightly tricky relationship when it comes to food

BIWI · 13/02/2014 07:48

Microchips

Your menu:

Breakfast - 2 slices of Leerdammer Original, 2 slices each of prosciutto, salami and chorizzo.
Dinner - 2 sausages, 2 bacon, 100g mushrooms cooked in lots of butter.
Tea - 2 Bird's Eye Sticky & Sweet Bbq Chicken Chargrills. Was busy so just chucked these in the oven.
I have also had 2 squares of Tesco 85% Chocolate.

Where is your veg/salad? Apart from the mushrooms, which will account for less than half a gram of carbs all your other carbs have come from processed food.

The chicken will have been full of sugar, and you've had more sugar in the chocolate - even if it is 85% cocoa.

Have you read Bootcamp rules? We're avoiding processed foods and artificial ingredients and aiming to get our carbs from fresh veg and salad.

You don't need to worry about counting carbs if you're following Bootcamp, but those proportions that you have managed look
OK - notwithstanding my comments above!

BIWI · 13/02/2014 07:50

Athelstane - I remember that flooding - and yes, you're right, the media has gone into a bit of a frenzy about the South.

But it's still horrible to watch it all happening.

Thankfully where we are it seems to be OK. We're not that close to the river (the Wandle runs through SW London) that we would be at risk, I don't think.

OP posts:
heliumheart · 13/02/2014 07:59

Hello everyone. :) Am very touched that a couple of you were asking after me yesterday and Athelstane brought a tear to me' eye by sending me a PM.

I've been wobbling a bit, although haven't put any weight back on. But the main reason for it all is that I feel like my world has imploded. Had the hearing last week, my ex made some serious allegations about me and now social services are heavily involved. I had my first visit yesterday. It feels so shameful, even though I am a good mum and my children are thriving. Thankfully had their report from nursery last week and it was exemplary; they are shining little stars amongst all this. The SW also dropped the bombshell that my ex is saying he wants 50 50 week on/ week off contact. I know some people do this but I firmly believe it is not right for our children at this time.

Anyway, that's the reason I've not been here. I am trying to cling on to eating properly and keeping off the wine because it won't do anything to my mental clarity to also have to deal with any compulsive eating etc. Think I'll try to keep on the thread because it was a great support, but am annoyed I've not lost any more weight!!

Hope everyone else has been good..!

heliumheart · 13/02/2014 08:03

In the spirit of contributing to the thread rather than just declaring my woes, I thought I should share this fabulous broccoli recipe. It's so fabulous it's all I had for dinner a couple of nights ago.

Best Roasted Broccoli

I didn't bother with the pine nuts, and also I put the garlic in a few minutes before the end or leave it in the skin, otherwise it gets burnt.

PseudoBadger · 13/02/2014 08:08

Crabby it was lovely thanks, my dill was a bit past its best which probably altered the flavour. I'll definitely do it again!

I also made the crumble but only had raspberries and blueberries, which were very tasty. The topping was rather, erm, crumbly! Would adding more butter give it more substance, or maybe I didn't mix it enough?

As I'm a complete stalker tonight I'm making your fish stew!

PseudoBadger · 13/02/2014 08:11

Lovely to see you Helium, I'm sorry you're having a shite time :(
Broccoli looks great, would that work without the Parmesan do you think?

heliumheart · 13/02/2014 08:19

Definitely, it's nice just roasted with the salt/pepper/oil. Although I think the parmesan makes it more tasty. I cooked up two heads of broccoli and ate the lot Blush

teaandthorazine · 13/02/2014 08:29

Oh helium Flowers. What an awful time for you. Stick to your guns re: the 50/50; it can work in some cases but (imo) in situations like this it's usually more about the parents' wants and needs (ie your x trying to get at you) rather than the children's. Thankfully SS are on your side - they tend to take a dim view of exes who make malicious, unsubstantiated referrals against good mothers...

Anyway, great to see you back!

First BPC of the day here. I've got loads of work to do but am seriously unmotivated. Have got a few days off over halfterm to spend with ds, but I seem to have switched off already!

SayraT · 13/02/2014 08:34

Glad to see you've popped on Helium you've got a lot going on at the moment so well done for not putting any weight on and for keeping off the wine. I love broccoli but I've never tried it roasted, I might now Grin

B: Coffee with cream
L: Tuna with little gem 'wraps', cucumber and carrot
S: FF yogurt
D: Sausages with spinach and broccoli

First night back at pole dancing tonight (not been in 3 ish years) wish me luck...I'll be very stiff tomorrow Grin

WillieWaggledagger · 13/02/2014 08:40

hi there helium, nice to see you on the thread

re weight loss i think under the circumstances be kind to yourself - even if you stick to the rules to the letter stress can have all sorts of effects on the body and impede weight loss, so just try to look after yourself. though it sounds like you are managing to cook up some lovely low carb dishes even under such trying circumstances which is amazing.

i'll definitely be trying that broccoli recipe tonight - we're having steak as dp is away from tomorrow for a week so we're having an early valentine's meal

BIWI · 13/02/2014 09:26

Agree 100% with Willie - this is a time to be kind to yourself and not stress over your weight. If you're eating low carb enough, and not drinking, things will be fine in the longer term, and you can free up that mental energy to focus on getting things sorted for you.

That broccoli recipe sounds lovely - I do something similar, with tender stem broccoli, and also add chilli flakes to it.
