Wow! So much nattering that we've filled up the thread before the end of the week!

Here's the link to the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness for tomorrow morning.

And, for the Weight Tracker I'm not quite sure what happens with this link I think that you will be asked to enter your weight for this week and then you will see your individual graph.

I hope you all had a good week last week, and very good luck for week 2.

I have also been indulging in the Tyrell's 'Aristocrackling with Mustard' - perfect substitute for crisps IMO. They are a little treat if needed and very low carb :-). I am doing Sunday weigh ins and (having been told by DH yesterday that I looked really slim, yay!) hopped on the scales this morning to find I've lost another 2lbs and am finally under the 10 stone barrier!!! I'm really delighted. Had some wine last night and am going to have actual gravy today as am cooking a roast for my Dad, but am otherwise continuing to behave :-D I've really noticed how much my appetite has decreased with the very low carb eating - I'm eating enough but I'm not getting hungry and I get fuller faster and for longer. Thank you Biwi et al I feel pretty again! ??????

CrabbyWinterBottom · 26/01/2014 13:48

For lunch!

CrabbyWinterBottom · 26/01/2014 13:52

Hmm there should have been pictures with that...

Woolfy, our waitrose also sell the awfully posh pork crackling which is 0 carbs. :o I think the tyrrells ones have some carb in them.

Afternoon - I am just about dry and warmed up from rugby this morning. Just had roast chicken, broccoli, carrots and celeriac dolphin pose and I might go for a little snooze.

CrabbyWinterBottom · 26/01/2014 13:55

caramelised onion and goats' cheese tart

SteeleyeStan · 26/01/2014 14:00

Sorry about your DH Snowie :(

Durham my PMT seemed to go on for much longer this time around, closer to two weeks really. Then again my hormones are probably still settling after some meds I had for months a few cycles ago.

Crabby I'm glad you had fun. :) And yes, unlikely to be news of a horrific new condition or anything, thankfully!

Sitting here gnawing on some 90% chocolate (which is lovely Woolfey, not at all bitter, I think.) and feeling sore and bloated and ridiculously sorry for myself (not sure about what!). I'm convinced the scales won't be my friend tomorrow...

I made some "muesli" for DH for next week, and tasted some with my breakfast, though it's not at all BC friendly. It was sunflower-, pumpkin-, hemp- and flaxseeds, macadamians, brazil nuts, pine nuts and coconut flakes gently fried/toasted with butter and cinnamon. Very very yummy. Dangerously so... I've got no appetite now for real food.

Today:
B: Greek yoghurt with the "muesli" and coffee with coconut oil.
L: Avocado, cheese and chocolate...
D: Mince and savoy cabbage with mashed swede.

EwanHoozami · 26/01/2014 14:06

Hallooooo Campers

I've had a tricky couple of days with hellish PMT and period pain. Didn't reaaaallly go too far off-plan but the peanut butter and teaspoon made a joint appearance at one point Blush

Today:

B: Lidl yog
L: spinach omelette
S: pork scratchings, feta-stuffed chilli
D: Hungarian chicken thigh paprikas (from a Spicery recipe, not tried it before. Contains carraway seeds which I lurve)

MrsPnut · 26/01/2014 14:11

That looks lovely Crabby.

Steel - my hormones seem to be all over the place since starting BC, I am having a horrific period and PMT. I do know that oestrogen is stored in fat cells and as we are burning off fat, more oestrogen is released into our bodies. Knowing it and living with it are two different things though.

BIWI · 26/01/2014 14:14

Hello! Smile

Looks like things are going well for most of us. Sympathy for those of you who aren't seeing the scales move for you. And also good to hear the strategies that you have all discovered for keeping away from the pesky carbs!

Trashcanjunkie list out for me what you've been eating and drinking, and let's see if we can help.

Can't remember who said it now, but if you're craving salt/salty things, don't be afraid to indulge that. We need salt and it's an important electrolyte.

I'm loving the sound of those Tyrell pork crackling things - must rush off to Waitrose.

So tomorrow when we sign in we will all see our Weight Trackers - cue massive excitement - hopefully that will be another encouragement to stay on track! I'm just about to post my standard 'Week 3 Warning', which will also help you decide if you want to stay on Bootcamp, move on to Bootcamp Light or do a hybrid, as Pistey mentions, i.e. Bootcamp during the week and Bootcamp Light at the weekend.

BIWI - it's EMUZ under a nc (as I keep forgetting to change it!)
After a trip off low carb for a bit I'm back on it but feeling really tired strangely. Any reason you can think of? (Or maybe I just forgot about carb flu!) Grin

CiderwithBuda · 26/01/2014 14:49

Crabby - that looks amazing. And sounds delicious.

Recipe please! [begging face emoticon] Grin

I have done hybrid since we started. Am out for lunch this Friday and there will be wine. Going to Zizzis so will try to look at menu before and pick low carb. So I think I will get back on wagon on the Saturday and only have Friday lunch off. ESP as this could herald the dreaded third week stall!

BIWI · 26/01/2014 14:54

Um, goodasitgets, I think you know the answer ... Grin

You know the routine - lots of fat, lots of water, don't forget your electrolytes!

I'm on day 5 I think!!
Must wait it out

goodasitgets · 26/01/2014 15:00

Oops posted too soon
(I'm not boot camp so no big stick!!!!)
B - 3 eggs, bacon, all cooked in butter and some goats cheese
L - protein, almond milk, PB, flaxseed and double cream blended
T - roast chicken salad with Parmesan and LC Caesar dressing
About a million litres of water

BIWI · 26/01/2014 15:01

Only a million? Grin

goodasitgets · 26/01/2014 15:14

Yes Grin I'm trying to get rid of the vile mouth taste but feel constantly thirsty! In reality I drink between 2-3l a day anyway and more when exercising

MaeMobley · 26/01/2014 15:16

BIWI, what do you usually recommend next? BC has worked amazingly well for me in so many ways.

I am tempted to keep on with BC but add nuts and berries.

I feel rather emotional about it. I have weird muscular pains in my legs which have totally disappeared since I started the BC. This is a miracle for me.

I found this link which sort of explains it. www.permanentpaincure.com/resources.htm

ImATotJeSuisUneTot · 26/01/2014 15:20

It was me about the salt - I've definitely indulged the craving - salty pork belly, spinach etc. Grin

Piscivorus · 26/01/2014 15:58

I love the Tyrrell's Pork Crackling but the one with mustard is the work of the devil, I ran around like a scalded cat screeching I'd been poisoned after those!

I made a gorgeous brunch; leftover celeriac mash with smoked haddock formed into fishcakes, dipped in egg then ground almonds and parmesan then fried. Served topped with a poached egg. Smile

I really struggle with sleeping. No reason for it, once asleep I'm fine but I just can't get off to sleep and am often awake till about 3 despite being up at 6.30ish and knackered in the mornings. I keep waiting for it to improve but it hasn't.

daisychicken · 26/01/2014 16:29

Anyone got a carb count for the pork cracklings? All I can find on waitrose is the ingredients:

Pork Rind, Yeast Extract Powder, Salt, Rice Flour, Sugar, Spices (including English Mustard), Natural Flavourings, Natural Colours (Turmeric and Paprika Extracts), Dried Dill, Natural Antioxidant (Rosemary Extract)

So surely the sugar and rice flour would equal lots of carbs??

Nux · 26/01/2014 16:35

Per 100g they are 1.8g carbs (0.9g per pack)

daisychicken · 26/01/2014 16:41

Wow that is good! Trip to Waitrose might be in order for a treat!

PseudoBadger · 26/01/2014 17:19

I'm making Crabby's celeriac mash tonight, roasting the celeriac first with garlic and shallots then blending it together (minus the shallot?) with a little cream. I hated the mash I got after boiling the celeriac so I really hope this is better.

BIWI · 26/01/2014 17:26

I couldn't find the Tyrell ones in Waitrose, but I found these instead - which are 0g carbs Haven't tried them yet, but I'll let you know!

Mae - as from tomorrow you can move on to Bootcamp Light Rules here which essentially means that you can add some nuts/berries, allow alcohol occasionally and, if you're not hungry, you no longer have to have 3 meals a day. Sometimes people find that they prefer to skip breakfast.

However, if Bootcamp suits you - you can stay with that. Glad you no longer suffer from those pains! Amazing what carbs are responsible for, isn't it?
